DO NOT RENT from the Madison. The apartments are run down and made of cheap materials. Beware when you move out. You will be hit with a huge amount of bogus charges. I’m talking thousands of dollars. I requested pictures with better clarity and descriptions of the individual charges. They have ghosted me. The apartment looked better during move out than move in.

I loved living at the Madison. I lived there for an amazing 3 years with my dog. My first born daughter will be named Madison to remind me of the very first place I called home since living with my parents. I’m just kidding but the Madison was truly great and I would definitely recommend. They have always treated me so well for the past 3 years, very sad to be closing a chapter and moving away :’)

Absolutely horrible management. They created hurdles in getting a sub-lease transferred in my name after accepting my application fee and stuff. I tried subleasing a room from a girl and the management said that it would give me a room in a boys unit in lieu of her lease. They conveyed the same thing to this girl's dad who was trying to sublease her apartment. After my background check came clean, they said that I couldn't get a room in the boys unit on this girl's sublease but was welcomed to get a fresh lease from them. This girl's dad was also upset because they misled us and made us go through the whole process for nothing. Eventually, I refused to sign a lease with them as the management cannot be trusted.

I loved my time at The Madison! The front office staff was always nice and welcoming. They made the move in and out process easy and stress free. maintenance was quick and always made sure to go above and beyond on our requests. I loved the activities that the property hosted, it made me feel like I had my own little community within my apartment complex. I am saddened that I have to leave and will continue recommending the Madison to my friends!

Disclaimer this is my personal experience. Yours might be different. I just know I’m not going to lie . Starting off If I could put a negative star I would . This place put a sour taste in my mouth. Truly a nightmare . From the mold to the rusty sink . Down to the attitudes . The niceness is a front to simply sign the lease. Once you do , you might as well be on your own . ( Mind you my experience ) But I know the maintenance team is very sweet that’s all maintenance is fast I like them . Overall worst experience in my life . I truly wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Quick with fees yet slow to put payment in . Like I truly think theirs a breathing fee . I Kid you not the fees are something.

Most pathetic place to live in Ames. If you ever feel like you’re not stressed enough in life kindly head over to the Madison and sign a lease. I bet there’s space! The Madison has been terrible since my currently 27 year old Supervisor lived there. I’m sent a bill for payment and when I proceed to pay it they have locked me out of my account?? If you see a pool in those lease pictures kindly know it’s all for show as if you happen to not be there when that pool is open for the two days in your lease term you better just go swim at state gym. The Madison is cheap and because it is cheap you will realize where there shortcomings come from. The corporation that deals with the Madison is the most non sensible and most incompetent corporation I’ve dealt with in time. The only reason I’m giving one star is because I actually had a roof over my head the structural integrity of the building is phenomenal. How do you have city of Ames coming to inspect the building and you come to fix the issues a day before the inspection is due? The Madison is like an African government ask for money never get anything done and act like they ain’t the problem we are. The security is whack as ever the front door to my building was being redone for a good few months like?!?! Far as ever from school if you’re taking the bus and no buses pass there on the weekend. Didn’t live there for the month of January cause the heaters were not functioning and still got charged rent?!?!?! When I called the office they said that the corporation doesn’t want to hear anymore complaints about that issue? Management has changed and it is still poor service.

The Madison is the Worsttttt place to live as a student. it is nothing but a scam and daylight Robbery. I lived there one semester and I would like to advise any prospective residents to turn away and look elsewhere. When I first moved in a few things were broken in the apartment, and I informed the office. I was told they would get it. They never did. we were never the priority. Halfway through the semester my fan broke and was hanging by a single wire. You would think such an imminent threat to my safety and life would be taken seriously. But it was not. I was neglected for months and after all this, I was slapped in the face with an outrageoussss bill. I fought for months to get it brought down. Even then when I tried to pay it before the deadline, they locked me out of my account and said the only way was for me to come in and pay a money order, Yet another scheme to make us miss the deadline so they can charge more. I need my account to pay with my credit card. Money does not grow on trees. Never ever live here if you value your peace. If I could give 0 stars, I would. The funny part is they will respond with a generic statement like "I'm sorry to hear that" or "We are saddened by your response." I do not care about your response I am scarred in a way I never have been before.

Great community service with great amenities. It is probably one of my favorite places I have ever lived so far better than the Social West Ames and almost as good as campus town.. a great place depends on the staff you can have the best-looking place but with the wrong attitude of staff then the place won't be worth it, But with that being said there's still room for improvement.
