Great old school place! It was pretty quiet when we stopped by for a late lunch. Service was quick and attentive, food was good and hot! We had the Irish Nachos, Reuben and Diablo Chicken Sandwich. The atmosphere is awesome - very nice Irish pub. Definitely will be back.

I love Brazenhead! Have been going for years and most of the time, I forget to snag a picture to post with a review. This time I remembered after I took a bite. They have good comfort food. One of the best places to go during the colder months, especially. And their mixed beer drinks are STELLAR! I had the Purple Death and my partner had the Bikini Bottom. Both were super good as we had fish n chips. Definitely recommend! Not to mention, the place feels like a cozy Irish Pub. It's so pretty!

Where to even begin. Visiting from out of town and we will be back. The best Irish food we have had in a long time.

Enjoyable, mid sized Irish pub with a representative set of good beers and food. The place is clean and service staff helpful. Live music on the Saturday evening we visited. Returned with a group of 7 on a Weds, and we were really accommodated. Great service.

Wished I had taken photos before eating. The onion soup is a must, so delicious, definitely made with fresh herbs. Shared the artichoke dip with a friend, very delicious and had the prime rib sandwich. Beef was a perfect medium rare and so tender. This is my second time visiting and I will definitely be back. Also highly recommend the chicken pot pie.

I've been to Brazen Head multiple times. Today, December 17 2020, the gf and I headed in for a late lunch around 3 p.m. The restaurant was mostly empty but that didn't seem to affect the server's attitude. They've always been pleasant and friendly. Just inside the entryway they have made little cups of sanitizer for patrons. Within a minute or so of seating ourselves (that is the general situation during non-peak hours) our server stopped over, checked in with us and asked if we'd like some drinks. They have several holiday drinks that sounded appealing, so while we perused the beverage menu she offered to fetch us glasses of water. We opted out of alcoholic drinks, in spite of the myriad delicious options on offer, and settled on two frosty glass root beers. Appetizers were potato skins (well made even though they're standard bar fare) and baked brie which my girlfriend LOVES. For our main courses I had their delicious salmon melt and she had the pub classic which earns all rights to that name. We opted to take home some food for dinner as well just like last time, selecting the tasty Clonarf Club sandwich and the Dubb Linn Stew in the bread bowl. I decided to write this review because we just reheated the stew and it is INCREDIBLE. Beef chunks that are melt-in-your-mouth good, a tantalizing gravy with a zingy but pleasing blend of spices, and all the usual vegetables you want to see in a stew. I can't believe how good this is! The only caveats I might have are: 1) our server was almost too fast in bringing out our main courses, as I felt we'd barely started our appetizers before the sandwiches came out, but not too big a deal, and might have been mitigated if we'd asked for a little time in-between. 2) their coleslaw is just okay. It's a bit bland for my tastes. But we added a little creamed horseradish and a touch of black pepper, and it pepped it up nicely. Anyhow. Go there and eat. They deserve five stars. And to our waitress, I wish I'd had more cash on me. $17 is not nearly a big enough tip for y'all. We'll definitely make it up to you guys next time we come in.

Come one come all! Brazen Head is the place to visit to have a drink, chill, and most definitely eat! Best midtown Irish ☘️ pub in Omaha and highly recommend the whole menu. If you go on a night with music order a few drinks as the place will fill up! Tonight was a simple family gathering for us to have some drinks. Thank you for always being a solid place for gatherings @Brazenhead!

Due to the ratings, I had to visit and experience the hype since I was in the area. First of all nicely decorated place and enough space for all your friends or family. Friendly staff and could use some more wide screens for better sports viewing. The Cheese Curds appetizer was tops with a bit of spice to add to the flavor. My Guinness was served beautifully but unfortunately had a watery finish. The Brigade Boxty was the first time I ever tried this dish, basically a pancake stuffed with seafood, small portioned and although tasty I'd rather have it for breakfast. The Pub Classic was also tasty but lacked portion size. (Covid Size ?) The Celtic Cross burger was on the spot with a half pound burger and crispy waffle fries to satisfy any burger fanatic. Good job guys but watch your portion size vs price.

Took my wife here on a date, would definitely go back! Wait staff did a great job, good selection of seasonal drinks, and the food was top notch. I have no idea why it's called Toad in a Hole, but it was delicious! 😂

YUMMY! Can’t say enough good things about Brazen Head. I had the Chicken pot pie and it was better than my momma’s (my momma is an amazing cook) The husband had the fish and chips and loved them. Great Food! Great Service and a relaxing atmosphere.

Went for the fish and chips. Nice size pieces, flaky and coating did fall off, best of flavorful. Chips were waffle fries. Both crispy and good. Another in the group had there hamburger and that was also described as good. Service was good, just enough attention to make sure we had everything. Not too much and more importantly, not to little

Amazing food and service. Their onion soup is the best I've had in the entire country. Was there honoring the dead, and they offered a shot of whiskey on the house. We put it in front of Bobbi Tinsleys photo. Spectacular place. Enjoy the whiskey Mom.

Cottage Pie was Ah-mazing. Wasn't expecting waffle fries with the fish and chips and I felt like the batter was a little heavy in beer flavor. Sounds carries so it was hard to have a family dinner at 5pm because the huge group next to us was already really drunk and loud. Maybe go earlier in the day to avoid this.

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, Tracy was so on point. She even sat with us and shared her time giving us history about the restaurant & her relationship to the owner. delicious dishes, good wine list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.

Went there for the first time, and it was great! One of the most nicely decorated places to eat. My husband got the cottage pie (casserole) and I got fish and chips. Those fish were huge! We also split the spicy cheese curds which, be warned, are spicy! I meant to ask what the spice was, but I am not sure. I just know everything was warm and my food was crispy. We have to go back to see what a boxty looks like in person. 😆

I've been here many times and have never been disappointed! Pictured is their Bruno Boxty, a filling and delicious crispy potato pancake stuffed with sausage, cheese, and mashed potatos. Normally I get the fish and chips, but this might be my new favorite. My friend and I also shared the bread pudding with rum sauce. Definitely recommend it if you've got room. I also almost always get a purple death to drink, one of their many mixed beers to check out!

Great food and lots of drink options. Waitress was really friendly and attentive even with a full house. Tried the clam chowder and it was packed with clam and potatoes and very tasty. The chicken pot pie was creamy and flavorful. Hubby had cottage pie that he said was one of the best he’s had. We’ve been twice and had a great time both times. We’ll definitely be back!

Gorgeous interior. Had a nice dinner special. Can get a little noisy inside, but settles down pretty quick. Menus are easy to read, and everything's very reasonably priced. Appetizer came out pretty quick, and our food came soon after. Honestly, the vibe here is very cozy and has a welcoming atmosphere. I can 100% see myself and my husband returning, or even making this an occasional dinner spot. 10/10, this place is top-shelf!♡♡

We arrived early (I thought) for dinner. 5 pm on a Friday night and already busy! We were lucky enough to find a half booth way in the back where the band usually sets up. The wife and I both had a Country Cork Boxty with an Espresso martini. Such good food and well made drinks (I asked for a Glendalough gin but it isn't stocked?) so settled for the wife's drink choice. We will certainly be back!

A true Irish pub. Very cozy inside with great, attentive staff. I highly recommend the fish and chips. Brazen Head nails it with the fish. The batter is perfect. Not too thick and not too thin. The chips are waffle style (as they should be) and it all comes out hot and fresh. I've ordered several dinner items here and they are all amazing. Our server, Lauren was more than congenial considering how many condiments we asked for after placing our order.

Easily the best fish and chips in town. The Reubens are top notch, the cottage pie is worth the wait and this is the only place I've found Kilkenny on tap. I've been going to the Brazen Head for 20 years and it has never let me down. My favorite local pup to support

We went on a Sunday and had fish and chips. It was great, we got the 2 piece which was enough as very generous portions. Loved the batter coating and wonderful cottage fries. Can't wait to sample rest of the menu. Great atmosphere and service.

This place deserves 5 stars for atmosphere alone. Add in the great food, drink and service, and it deserves more. When I’m back in Omaha I will be back for sure. If you’re looking for good food at good prices and a cozy atmosphere - go here!

I don't know what it is about this place, but I love it. The atmosphere is cool, the spicy cheese curds are stellar, and the Fiesta Chicken salad is like...something I wish I knew how to make. So I could eat it every day. I haven't been able to enjoy the patio yet, but I really want to because it looks cute and nice. 10/10

The best Irish pub I've been to in Omaha so far. Great atmosphere considering it's in a strip mall. Nice menu of options, I only had the cottage pie, food was quite decent but not spectacular. Good beer selection, I'll certainly be back to try other options... I have my eye on one or two of the boxtys!

  • 5/5 Sonja F. 3 years ago on Google
The food was wonderful. Great atmosphere. The wait staff was very attentive. I had the fish and chips. I am very happy that I ordered the two piece because that was alot. My husband liked it and he is very picky about fish. You have to read the back story on their website. It will make you appreciate the attention to detail even more. Will definitely (and already have) recommend to our friends!

We arrived at 5:30 pm on a Monday, for a cocktail and dinner before an evening at the Playhouse. Service was great even though our waitress had several tables. I enjoyed my meal of sausage and mashed potatoes over a pastry. My friend ordered a seafood potato pancake. She liked the flavor of my meal better. She thought her meal was a bit bland.

This is going to sound strange, but I hope they never remodel this place. There is something about the antique like bar that just brings it all home for me. The beautiful windows, vintage beer memorabilia, brass bar, oak cabinets. It's bright enough to read the menu and show off how clean it is but dim enough to make you feel at home. The place is beautiful, the food makes you feel like your mom made it for you, the staff is quick but not up in your business. I love it here and tell everyone about their boxtys. Seriously, try one, you will dream about them for the rest of your life. Thank you Brazen Head!

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It has a very interesting atmosphere, but Irish music instead of the contemporary American music that is heard in every other restaurant around town would have added so much more. The service was excellent. The food was great except that the potatoes on the chicken pot pie seemed to be instant potatoes. It was the first time I had a boxty, but it sure won't be my last. Delicious!

I have been coming here for some time now. I must say the Guinness is great. But i hate to say the cottage pie is one or the worst i think I've seen or tasted. We had to send it back. That brings me on to the next issue. If you are going to advertise "Fish and Chips" Please have chips!!! I don't know who thought waffle fries were a good idea? And I understand that most Americans don't know any better. This could be a great bar if you just spent a little more time on the British,Irish food. And before anyone says anything. I am English and have been into many pubs and bars. So i have a little understanding of what traditional food should be. PS our waitress was great!!!!

Design and food is amazing. I love this place however it can take forever to get a server to see you. Today I waited 20 minutes on the patio and never got served and ended up choosing to leave which sucks because I truly was in the mood for some hearty Irish food and they do it so well.

Fish and Chips were just ok nothing really to brag about batter was very bland really no taste fish was kind soft not firm like I would expect. I definitely will eat something different next time. The kinda off food was offset by a very nice environment and great service.

Excellent and fast. I came in for lunch and ordered the Tex-wich. Which was fantastic. My food arrived no more than 5min after ordering. I was in and out in 15min and was still served 4 iced tea refills, lol. Great service. Thanks!!

One of my favorite places in Omaha. The French onion soup is a must, and I’ve never had an entree I didn’t like. The prices are fair, portions large, and the environment is a fun place to be. Highly recommend!

Brazen Head Irish Pub was recommended to us while we were in Omaha for the day. Our waitress, Hannah was fantastic. She was very nice, personable, and had great customer service. The food was excellent and fairly priced. We will definitely be stopping back when we are in Omaha again.

Visited this place for the first time tonight and the food was absolutely delicious! We had the cheese bread, soup, fish and chips and pot pie and all was wonderful! Our waitress was also so attentive and kind! When I told her I didn’t want to use a styrofoam box, she found two small paper bags we could use instead! My only suggestion would be to find an alternative to styrofoam and plastic straws. Other than that, loved it. We will return.

One of my faves in Omaha in the winter. Cozy, warm and fun. Some nights they have live Irish music and it can get really packed and loud. The food is so excellent. I love to get the salad with grilled salmon and add steamed veggies. I also love the boxties, the shepard's pie, the waffle fries, you really can't go wrong. Fun drink menu, my personal fave is the Snake Bite.

1/22/2021 noonish - Today's fish and chips were spot on and very good. Both were perfectly cooked with a satisfying crunch with every bite. Just ate and ready for more. Server Ryan was attentive and a great server. Definitely five star today. Cudos to the chef!!! Previous review. Good pub food and Irish beer. Patty Melt is always good. Good size meat patty with onions and flavorful dark bread. Chips are a favorite. Fish this visit was not as good as past visits but I still recommend it with a nice cold black and tan. Update to owner request of fish review - Appearance was perfect and appeared it would be nice and crispy but was found to be just slightly on the "rubbery" side but had a slight crunch. Fish inside was found to be a bit "rubbery" and not as flakey as usual. This however will not deter ordering the fish on any of our future visits.
