If you’re looking for flour tortilla chips this is the place. The menu is pretty vast so you’re likely to find something that meets your appetite. The margaritas were very good(I recommend the mango margarita) and the hoppy style taco was so good I ordered another!

If I could leave less than one star I would. The service was horrendous! We sat at the bar and still couldn’t get anybody to help us for a good 30 minutes. Our food was served to us incorrectly, and drinks were empty when they dropped off the food.. they still never even asked about another drink or water. The restaurant is so small that it is super claustrophobic

We came in from out of town and the food was so tasty and affordable! The bartender was so kind and made us a really tasty drink. Would definitely recommend and will remember the next time we stop by in Omaha. P.S. Get the Asada burrito - so good :)

I used to go to Hoppy Taco every Sunday when it first opened 4 years ago… and then I got a job there. They took me in as one of their own, I felt a part of the family. The food is made with love and lots of flavor! It’s my favorite taco spot. Try the Brisket Kickstyle taco and add queso & sour cream!!!

My fiancee and I was really craving street tacos & the first one that popped up was The Hoppy Taco. We've lived near the area for years but never even heard of this place. We've had one of the best experiences ever. Great service, bar tender/waitress was really nice. One of the best quesos I've ever tasted. Street tacos was really amazing, carnitas & asada was cooked to perfection. Even the price of my bill was great considering how much we ordered. We will definitely be back again for Hoppy hour. 11/10

First cantina I’ve been to that doesn’t offer complimentary chips and salsa ($5). We got 2 street tacos, 3 Texmex tacos, chips and queso, and 4 Margs (2 reg, 2 skinny) and our bill was $65. Staff was friendly. One drink came out wrong. For a place called Hoppy taco, we saw no IPAs or craft beer on the menu. Kinda of a bummer cause this place took over another cantina that was cheaper and better tasting. If you’re gonna go, the Al Pastor tacos were the best of the 5 different kinds we tried. Cilantro is their main ingredient.

Unfortunately not what I was expecting. The new one on Deer Creek- food was OK. The service was disappointing. Nice 2 guys- but no sense of urgency. We waited 4-5 min. To be greeted. Then never asked how the food was or if we wanted another drink. Another 2 person table came in- they waited 5 min. Got up and left. Then 2 other tables of 3 came in and waited 4-5 min. It would been excusable if they were “busy.” For $10 a drink, the service better be great! Service is everything in Omaha- we have too many choices. Will maybe try again in a couple of months to see if the staff’s “Seabee of service and urgency “ got better. Back to Union we go.

Happened to be out that way and boy we picked a good spot. The food was great and the beer selection was fantastic. The waitress was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Also had a blast with trivia even though we sucked at it lol, overall highly recommend!

We moved to the Dundee area in early 2022 and have been frequent customers at Hoppy Taco ever since. We’ve always enjoyed their drinks and food. I’m not sure if they have recently transitioned to new ownership or management, but we were extremely disappointed with our recent experience. The margaritas we ordered tasted like syrup and soda water. When we inquired about the different recipe, the manager on staff simply said, “well, we switched to a pre-mixed recipe,” and gave no alternative solution. It’s unfortunate that this location has lost sight of taking care of their regulars. We’ll start frequenting the other establishments in the Dundee Historic District who understand the importance of the customers who live in their neighborhood.

I enjoyed the atmosphere! Not a big menu but food was good and feeling you dont need 6 tacos. The music was nice and the servers were helpful and enjoyable. I did not feel rushed. I was able to have a conversation with someone without yelling the volume was just right. Smaller place but it is a nice. Place to have a date.the had a game night also.

New location in Mary plaza is no good. Not kid friendly, dry food, taste like it came straight from a can. Sketchy staff and horrible service. Bring back deer creek cantina!!

This is a great neighborhood place but they need to fire everyone and start over. Keep the kitchen fire all the front of house. Didn’t get served for an hour. Looking strung out, sloppy, and unprofessional.

Tacos are incredible! Steak and barbacoa were our favorites. Staff is super friendly also. Will definitely come back if we’re in the area again.

Great street tacos! Especially for the price! Their margaritas are also very strong for the price! But I will add that they must make it with orange juice or something because it has much less kick than sweet and sour mix, so perhaps some people may prefer that more! I didn’t, but I’m sure not gonna complain about a margarita haha!

Love this place! Got a flight of tacos and nachos...10 out 10! Strawberry margarita on the rock was delicious! Dundee neighborhood is amazing, and we love visiting... bonus next door is an icecream shop... You can't go wrong visiting the hoppy taco! I should have taken a photo of my food but it was so good I forgot and ate it all!

Cadillac Marg's are on point. Cold beer. Food is good. Great place to watch a game and drink a bucket of beer.

Went in with a gift certificate that was purchased through the iHeartRadio. Denied usage initially, then later offered purchase price usage. Don't know if the food is good, as that was enough to know bad customer service. There is no expiration date verified with radio station.

Cool spot, The street tacos were really dry. Most street tacos I've had in my life (maybe I'm spoiled from living in California and New Mexico) have been really juicy and saucy. Maybe I got a bad night. Would try again.

Hoppy Taco is amazing! They have some of the best barbacoa I've ever tasted. Happy hour is my favorite as the tacos are $2. Who wouldn't love $2 tacos?? 😋 The owner is a solid guy and works just as hard as his staff. They always have a nice crowd and nice people to talk to at the bar. Overall I love Hoppy Taco and would highly recommend it to anyone.

We love this place! Best street Tacos I've ever had. During happy hour there street tacos are a $1.50 ea And are extremely filling. Really everything on their menu is excellent but you must tryTheir brisket street tacos. Eaten a lot of tacos in my life , Never had to be brisket taco until here, hard to go back. But even their regular tacos are terrific their cheese dip all of it is top notch if you love Mexican cuisine you definitely have to try this place. Happy hour if you get pretty busy because of all the drink and food specials but more than worth it . Instantly became one of my favorite restaurants in town. Have nothing negative to say about the place the staff is Excellent and extremely friendly.I would recommend this place to anybody who asked for a referral to a good Mexican food restaurant! I've raved about it to all my friends and family so far.

Always great service and good food! We get take out because it's a bit far from us and it's worth the drive.

I love Hoppy! The brisket nachos are the bomb. You should also try the kick-style tacos - think double-decker tacos, but so much better than the Bell. These are street style tacos for the most part, so they are small, served on double corn tortillas, and delicious. "Hoppy Hour" time gives you cheaper tacos and margaritas, so try and get there from 4-7pm. 4:00-7:00 pm $2.25 Street Tacos $2.50 Domestic Bottles $3.00 Wells $4.99Margarita on the Rocks Great selection of beer on tap and wonderful food.

Went with some friends and got tacos, chips and queso. Queso was fire. Tacos were delicious. Not a very big place so if you have a larger party, you may want to get your food to go.

Decent food and atmosphere with good service. Had the brisket enchilada which I highly recommend. Wife had the Street Taco Flight and she was not as impressed.

Our exceptional, interactive and attentive bartender served us the best street tacos and strong strawberry margs. My boyfriend & I have tried countless spots around Omaha and this is by far our new favorite spot. Salsa/queso was authentic and absolutely addicting. Affordable and no wait on a Saturday night, will definitely be back!!!

Reviews of this place were good, so I decided to try it while visiting Omaha. I was not disappointed with the food or any aspect of our experience. Serving sizes were good and drink selection was good as well. We were there for happy hour and got some drinks and tacos at a discount which was nice! I would warn anyone else who has friends who tend to "follow" their lead when traveling - our group of 12 people was almost 1/3 of the total capacity for the entire place. Despite our group size (split into 2 smaller groups for ordering), things went well! Service was a bit slow at first, but once they took our food orders the kitchen was quick and efficient! No one in the group complained to me about anything!

food is delightful, but it's a coinflip it seems if staff are going to be great or be rude. been hung up on multiple times when attempting to place an order for pick up, just frustrating service.

Dundee location server very slow, didn't want to be bothered. Order placed was not what was served. Thursday night 530, we seated ourselves right away, not busy. No excuse for such poor service
