So as a bar it's pretty good, the old fashioned is solid. Nice atmosphere. I wouldn't call the food Cajun however. Cajun food has loads of flavor and is pretty distinct, this is not that sadly. Everyone that knows Cajun will not be happy. But a cool place for a drink!

Very happy that I came here! The crab cakes were very good, great sauce with them, and lots of fresh crab. The Crawfish Etoufée with Blackened shrimp was super flavorful, and the Mango Habanero hot sauce with it was unbelievably tasty! The sweet Mango with the habanero kick perfectly elevated the spice of the Etoufée ! I even got a little bit of a sweat going! I recommend the Espresso Martini with no cream, which means it's made with Bourbon, delicious!

What is not to love about this place? Amazing craft cocktails and the best Cajun & Creole food in Omaha. I am so happy that they kept the spice in the food, and didn't tone it down for Midwestern taste buds (that happens way to.often unfortunately). The service was great and my date and I both loved our entrées and cocktails. We will definitely be back.

Really enjoyed finding another place and probably the most authentic place to have Louisiana and specifically NOLA food. The atmosphere was great, with prompt friendly wait staff and an overall welcoming vibe. Loved our table by the lamp. Food was spot on and I cannot wait to return, probably heading back this weekend. The specialty drinks are definitely to be noted, delicious.

This was our first time dining at Herbe Sainte and we loved the amazing food and service. We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer which were delightful, great flavor with a touch of heat. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits which had blackened shrimp, collards, and white cheddar grits. This dish was out if this world delicious! The greens were skillfully prepared and the addition of bacon really was a pleasant surprise. The blackened shrimp was perfect, and full of spicy southern flavor in combination with the white cheddar grits and corn. In addition we ordered the Cajan Mac and Cheese and my husband ordered the Jambalaya which he said was fantastic. We definitely will return to Herbe Sainte in the future and highly recommend this restaurant to others.

Delicious lunch with the family while enjoying Aksarben Village today. We stopped in on a whim to give this place a try and was not disappointed. The kids had the grilled cheese and the gumbo. Gumbo could have used a tad bit more flavor but was overall great. The grilled cheese was amazing and just over the top for a kids meal. My wife went with the Prosciutto Apple Salad. The way they slice the apples made it killer! Hers was a table favorite. I had to try the jambalaya. It was amazingly spicy. One issue I have with jambalaya at places is it is never spicy enough. It is here! Great flavor and nice mixture with the sausage and the chicken. Another table favorite was the cornbread. I highly recommend grabbing some no matter what you are eating. We really want to try the brunch items as the banana foster French toast has my name on it!

Went to Herbe Sainte tonight with my wife to enjoy a little Cajun style dinner. First time there and was very impressed. The food was amazing. We started with the crab cakes as an appetizer, and they were delicious. Crispy on the outside, yet tender and flavorful inside, and the sauce was to die for. I went with the jambalaya my entree, and a side of red beans and rice.... Well, because that always screams to me Cajun. The red beans and rice did not disappoint, with a perfect combination of red bean flavor that blended perfectly with the sticky white rice underneath. Not to soupy, and very filling. As for the jambalaya, of course it was delicious, although it was lacking a bit in the spice area, but Lennard, our server, brought three different kinds of hot sauce to give it a bit more kick, and the lime cilantro medium heat, mixed with the mango habanero hotter sauce, had me sweating and sniffling by the end of the meal.... Just the way it should. It was soooo good, I couldn't stop eating or, even after I was full. My wife had the blackened shrimp and cheese grits with collard greens. I'm not a big greens fan, so I took a pass on trying those, but I did try the cheesy grits in the BBQ sauce that dressed the blackened shrimp, and it was the bomb. BTW.... My wife said the greens were absolutely fantastic as well.... So I'll take her word on that. Lol We will certainly go back....hard to find good Cajun food, so this one is now on my go to list when it comes to Cajun homestyle cooking.

Looks better than it tasted. Our server checked on us once, which is fine but I wanted more water, didn't receive until we got the check. I liked my Shrimp it was the only thing that had flavor. My husband had the Shrimp and Steak pasta, he said his lacked flavor, as well. The appetizer was a Crab & Artichoke dip, it DID NOT have flavor! I couldn't believe this especially since its supposed to reflect New Orleans food. Not worth the $$, IMO. We left unsatisfied however the place has a nice decor.

My wife and I intended to visit Herbe Sainte for their craft cocktails. Once we arrived we had noticed they also offer food. We started with the White Corn Tacos for an appetizer and for dinner my wife had the Cajun Mac N’ Cheese and I had the Shrimp & Grits! Wow, the flavors were out of this world!!!! The craft cocktails are also awesome. We tried the Peruvian, Bust A Grape, and the Daily Cocktail at the time! All were really good!! I have heard they offer a great brunch, that will be the next time we visit! We highly recommend coming to check it out for drinks, dinner, or both! It’s located in Aksarben Village so you can also go to the little park to play bags, volleyball, etc. The staff was also phenomenal! Super friendly, they make awesome recommendations, and very attentive! Highly recommend!

Stopped by for lunch due to the awesome reviews. The service was good (we were one of two tables) and the atmosphere was nice. I’m not huge into Cajun food but the Nola shrimp was very flavorful. The lower rating is due to price for the amount of food. My fiancé and I both got the Nola shrimp, which came with five pieces of shrimp and some bread. The waiter said it was a smaller portion and we should consider ordering a side, which we did (a chop salad and a side of shrimp). The total bill with two drinks was $88.00. We both left hungry, which was disappointing. For the amount of food, it shouldn’t have been over $50.00 in my opinion.

I wish I could review the food or drinks here but unfortunately my experience did not even go satisfactorily enough to input an order to a server. We knew they were busy when we arrived and were told they couldn’t guarantee a table but we could eat at their sofas. No problem, we were just excited to try a new place. We waited about 15 minutes without service before I started to be concerned that no one had even come by to ask for a drink order or acknowledge we were waiting or they would be by soon. At that point I figured I would give it 5 more minutes to see if anyone came by. No one did at which point we decided to eat at another restaurant we know is good down the road.

Let's talk about the brunch I just experienced this pas weekend at Herbe Sainte.. The Bananas Foster French Toast might be one of the most incredible French toast dishes I've ever had. I'm not sure what type of bread they used, or where it came from, but I think it must have some sort of addictive narcotic as a secret ingredient... I will probably be dreaming about it for months to come. The Cajun Eggs Benny was phenomenal as well, but since it doesn't include ice cream on the plate, it sadly takes second place in this meal The Applewood smoked bacon was thick and cooked perfectly, the hollandaise was flavorful, and the poached egg was probably one of the most beautifully textured I've seen on a plate in a long time. To top it off, the NOLA taters were crispy, and the perfect amount of spicy. The atmosphere at HS is always fun and inviting, the server was friendly and attentive, and we were sat right away without a wait. I love stopping by here for dinner, and now I'm excited to finally have experienced their incredible brunch offering as well.

Nice aesthetic, large bar. Large drink selection from wines to lagers to cocktails. Crab cakes and artichoke dip were good for appetizers. Jambalaya was also delicious and had a mild heat to it. Waitress was kind, accurate with our order, helpful on menu items and refilled water routinely. Would come here to get dinner any time.

Omaha-- y'all are sleepin on this place!! Atmosphere 🤌, food 🔥🔥🔥 and service ✨️✨️were all spectacular. When you go, get the Nola Shrimp- you won't regret it! And the Jambalaya was chef's kiss. I've lived in Omaha for the last 12 years and this is the best of the best!

The steak and eggs brunch menu item was incredibly good. Steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly seasoned. The Nola fries are delicious and the sauce they came with adds the perfect amount of tanginess and heat. Eggs were well-seasoned. No notes.

Lovely atmosphere, amazing drinks and delicious food!! And one or the best, most underrated brunch spots! I do wish there were more vegetarian and vegan options, but they always have something and it's always been wonderful

It was extremely busy when we first arrived. The staff didn't seem to want to serve us at first (they didn't seem happy). Then the rush ended and the stress seemed to go away for them (I don't blame them, it was pretty crazy there). The food was good, the service was great after a bit and I will definitely be back when it's not as crazy. Do not let the 4 stars dissuade you. I find it extremely hard to give anyone five stars the first go around.

Stopped for lunch. Has the Cuban and jambalaya. The Cuban was tasty and well made. Not the top on my list. Next time will go closer to the Cajun foods. The jambalaya was great. Try it. Our server recommended the Corpse Reviver #2. OH MY. Great drink. We liked it so much we went back for brunch 2 days later. Had the Cajun Eggs Benny and Shrimp & Grits Sardou. I was not totally impressed with the Benny. The eggs were medium - hard. The spice was tame. The Sardou was great. We took advantage of the bottom-less mimosas. IT was great. The service both times was great. They are friendly and professional. Took the time to talk with us. We plan to go back and hang out. The decor is casual and comfortable. Good patio area with tables and couches.

Great cocktails but the food menu is sparse and dishes small. Our server, Haley, was exceptional. If you want to sit and chat with friends while sampling a variety of delicious and unique drinks, you won't find a better place.

I am in Omaha about once a year, and This is always my favorite spot. The shrimp and grits are amazing and their prices are surprisingly very reasonable. Great atmosphere to enjoy a meal or drink!!

I really liked the setting and atmosphere of the place. I was a tad disappointed with the French toast. It was a small portion but I think it still tasted ok.

Very nice atmosphere to bring back memories from New Orleans and bring the Cajun spirit north to Omaha. The drinks were well balanced. The happy hour food plates were nicely sized for a snack. Good flavor true to their origins. I'm hoping to return to try the rest of the dinner menu!

Last night we tired Herbe Saintes for the first time. We got there around 6 and the manager said it would be a 45 minute wait but directed us across the street to the Inner Rail for a drink while we waited. No problem at all but next time we will call ahead because they do call ahead seating for smaller parties. I’ll start off by saying we had GREAT service. I think our waiters name was Lennord. He went above and beyond all night. We ordered the Nola shrimp for an appetizer. Holy cow it was AMAZING! Probably one of the best appetizers we’ve ever had. If you like shrimp this is a must have! I ordered the crawfish Étouffée and my boyfriend got the Roast Beef Po' Boy. The Étouffée was some of the best I’ve ever had. Next time I will add shrimp to it though. My boyfriend loved his Roast Beef Po’Boy and said he would get it again. We will be back for sure. Two minor complaints though. It is extremely loud in there so if you’re looking for a quiet place to eat this is not the spot. Also, the kitchen staff had very long/straggly beards. It would be nice if they wore beard nets.

My partner loves their jambalaya. I tried the Nola Shrimp which I adored. So good and honestly could be a meal on its own, but I don’t have a huge appetite. Also tried the peel ‘n eat shrimp. Obviously a lot of work but the shrimp had a lovely sweet flavor to them. I didn’t like their homemade cocktail sauce personally, didn’t have enough horseradish zing. Ended up just melting some butter and dipping the shrimp in that. Will order again! Maybe not the peel ‘n eat. We got this delivered.

I just need my waitress to know a couple of things: 1. Food…. AMAZING! 2. I was serious about needing a wheelbarrow to get to the car 3. Your Valentines outfit was super cute!!! 4. Thank you for an amazing experience Side notes: They were perfectly organized when it came to fitting in walk-ins with the reservations on Vday! Kitchen staff, *CHEF’S KISS!* 100/10

I don't usually go looking for Cajun food, but this sounded good the other night. By far the best Jambalaya (crawfish version) I've ever had. Portion was huge and, even though I was far from being hungry by the time I got a little more than half-way done with the bowl, my taste buds wanted the rest. Absolutely delicious. Also had the shrimp cocktail which was also delicious. Not sure what the seasoning was on the shrimp, but it was great on its own, even without the cocktail sauce. Staff was super friendly, attentive, made recommendations, and really just made the experience all that much better. Anyway, I would highly recommend this place base on my sampling.

Absolutely love this place for eclectic food, amazing staff, and tasty drinks. Their shrimp and grits sardou during brunch is something I dream about often. Can’t leave without trying their cornbread either. If you can’t find a drink you’re into ask the waitress/waiter and they can whip you up something! Great ambiance as well.

Food was amazing. We loved the artichoke crab dip, cajun Mac and cheese, jambalaya, and bread pudding. The hurricane was wonderful and very strong. Leonard was our waiter, he was fantastic. Great night

  • 2/5 C T. 6 months ago on Google
The food looks good but isn't tasty. The jambalaya is consistently too spicy but unseasoned. It's just hot. I had to take it home and add red wine and seasoning to make it edible. The meatball fricassee and gravy were very flavorful, but was served with jambalaya and it did not pair well. The excessive spiciness of the jambalaya overwhelmed the seasoning of the fricassee. It would have been better to serve it with white rice and the extra gravy. The atmosphere is loud and more of a late night bar/club, versus lively restaurant. The music was so loud that the servers couldn't hear us, but they tried to be very helpful. Overall, I really wanted to like it but after 2 chances it just seems like stunt food to impress hapless trend seekers.

Food was very good. I enjoyed it. Service was good as well. Little loud but all in all I'll be back. Won a gift card to eat there, and probably would of never tried it, had I not. That's how advertising works. Made a positive Facebook post, couple more friends are going tonight.

Great food, not at all bar food, though they have a full bar. Quite authentic New Orleanian food (Cajun) - gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish etoufee. Lovely bread pudding for dessert, too.

Our recent visit was bad enough to make us not want to come back! The Cajun Benny came out cold( second time it’s happened) but bacon was over cooked. I also found what looked like a hair in the potatoes. I asked if the dirty rice was spicy at all(ordering for small child) and was told no spice is added but it was clearly spicy to where my kid couldn’t eat it. My beer was poured way to fast so I had to wait a good amount of time until I could drink it. The crawfish étouffée was bad as the crawfish was not fresh as the tails were brown not normal color. After I brought the first issue to the servers attention the whole staff just glared at us until we left! This place is definitely not kid friendly or price friendly either. The seasoning seems the same on every dish I’ve had just different amount added. I really don’t feel the price is reflected in the quality of food or service!

I ordered their Nola Shrimp and have told everyone in my life (including my grad school professor) they need to try this. My first 5 bites were just me going "oh my god, oh my GOD" because it was so good. It's a really good example of simple ingredients, but high quality, that come together to make a delicious dish. Only thing I would say is that the serving size is small (at least it was for me, but I also didn't eat all day) so I would recommend getting something else to go with your food. I ordered online for delivery and they packaged everything so well, thought obviously went into it. Thank you guys for being awesome during this time!!
