The food is not bad but the place is quite dirty and smelly. The menu had a lot of stains and it was difficult to touch it. It was quite sticky. The slat and pepper shakers were also sticky. It was hard for me to have food their because the smell was just so overwhelming.... The whole place needs a nice cleanup

My husband and I visited here for the first time a few days ago. We have tried many Indian restaurants in Omaha and my husband says this is his favorite so far! He had the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan and I had the chicken madrasa. Both dishes were amazing and incredibly fresh. The chicken was tender and the flavors were awesome. The waiter was great at recommending dishes he thought we would like as well as options to try for next time. The atmosphere can definitely be described as “hole in the wall”, but quaint. We were the only ones dining in, but they had several to go orders while we were there. We will definitely be back!

Delicious! A hole in the wall type of restaurant, super delicious. I had chicken Kashmiri, which is a banana based curry I haven’t had since England, so it was super nice! Garlic naan and lamb korma good too. Looks wise, it’s a bit run-down and cramped, definitely looks like more of a place for carry-out or catering vs a dining in, but we dined in and the service was good, food was good!

I wanted to like it. We we're big fans of Mother India so we were excited to give this a try. Overall, I'm very underwhelmed. Nothing really stood out, tasted super flavorful, and the portions were expensive.

This was our first time here and what a great place! Cozy dine-in experience with great service, and the food is incredible. I had the Butter Chicken, veggie samosas, and cheese naan. My husband had Lamb Korma and garlic naan. Everything was delicious - the butter rice is AMAZING! We topped it off with Hot Chai. We ordered too much food for two people to eat but we still accepted a delicious dessert. What a wonderful find!

The food was utterly amazing as well as the service. My partner and I arrived as they were were closing. They welcomed us in gave great descriptions of the menu. We started off with excellent vegetable samosas. Our entrees of chicken Korma and lamb Vindaloo was some of the best food we've ever had.

Ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan. I've been searching for Indian food that reminds me of what I had while living in India, and this food was darn close. It's a small space, but it doesn't feel too confined while sitting inside. The service was fairly quick, and they were good at refilling our water. The food came out nice and warm. Portion sizes were perfect. Will definitely be back!

Hole in the wall is a term of endearment these days and this place absolutely nails that description. I came here back in June and my mouth is still watering at the level of flavors and deliciousness that this place provides. I couldn’t even tell you what I ordered as it’s been so long, all I know is, I want more. Their lamb was cooked to perfection and their pricing is a steal for top notch Dining in a humble venue.

I absolutely LOVE Taste of India, I have tried a handful of their vegetarian dishes and have never been disappointed. The flavors are exquisite and the staff is incredibly friendly. I always order a side of vegetable samosas, they are perfect. My only advice: caution with the Vindaloo… I am a lover of all things spicy and the medium was WAY too hot for me… flavor was great but my weak taste buds couldn’t handle it. This place is a MUST!!

Very good food and service. Atmosphere may be a turn off to some people— no decor. For me, it just feels authentic and unpretentious: will definitely be back!

Best Indian food in Omaha or Lincoln. Small, but ergonomic so there are plenty of seats! The staff is very kind and accommodating as well.highly recommended!

I ordered the Chicken Tika Masala with garlic naan. The food was amazingly delicious. However, please add disposable cutlery and napkins to to-go orders. I ordered through a third party delivery service and when asked for a review, the above statement violated its guidelines and wasn’t published through its platform. Transparency is why I must share my experience directly on this review platform.

Been eating here for a while, its good food. That chicken korma is to die for, and my roommate loves the chicken tikka masala. We end up getting food from here pretty frequently, just order off their website. A friend told me the place is really tiny and the dining place is kinda cramped, so going there just doesn't feel like it'd be that interesting--sticking with delivery for now. The only reason its 4 stars not 5 is because the mango chicken i got this time tasted way too much like my friends tikka masala. Like that was weird man, it kinda had way too much of a tomatoey taste, just weird man. I've had mango chicken before--it's never been orange, it's always like straight up yellow. I think they might've messed up my order or something, but it definitely did have that slight mango flavor that it was supposed to from what I've had before. I don't know if they do something differently than everyone else but that's probably the only meh thing I've had from there, and it didn't particularly taste bad-- it was just off-putting. Everything else was freaking awesome, and I'm definitely ordering again (apparently I'm not too far from free naan on their website...).

Had taste of India. I got the spicy chicken masala with butter nan bread. There was very little chicken for pricing. Nan was not freshly made, very dry. Can’t say I loved it. 2/10

If it is an obvious count this is the type of place you go to for the food itself and not the service or atmosphere. We've ordered out here on a few occasions and never been disappointed. Always delicious food with a generous portion size. This usually lasts a few days for our family.

We ordered biryani and curry both at medium heat, neither had any spice. The biryani was good but the curry was ungodly sweet. The naan was overdone and the samosas tasted doughy instead of crispy. The service was good but not attentive. This was us retrying the restaurant after several years when they first opened after Mother India closed. Probably won't be back any time soon.

I tried this restaurant for first time. it was very small. I ordered chicken wings, paneer butter masala, garlic bread, momos. Everything had too much food color. Except the garlic naan everything were worst. I will never suggest this place.

  • 1/5 L L. 6 months ago on Google
The food was awful and bland. Chicken tikka and lamb korma both tasted like an off brand can of tomato soup. The sauces were sweet but otherwise flavorless, the meat was cooked tough and flavorless. The rice was also lackluster and seemed like it could have come out of a box. The "naan" was gummy and undercooked. I will never eat here again.

Expertise in Indian cuisine. We had a feast! Owner was very thoughtful. Best experience I have had at an Indian restaurant. Highly recommended for takeout! Building is being remodeled

Some of the best Indian food in town! Very sweet family that runs it and fantastic service. It definitely is a hole in the wall restaurant so come here for food and not ambiance!

Ordered takeout today on Memorial Day. One of the few Indian places that was open. The food was so fresh and hot. We got veggie curry, spice hot. And veggie marsala spice mild. Garlic rosemary Naan was kinda bland. But the food was delicious. Would order again.

It's a very small place, nothing fancy but the people are so friendly and the food is amazing! It felt like I was in someone's home, being served with great care and eating grandma's recipes. My favorite place to eat on this trip to Omaha by far!

I honestly went there because of the reviews. They're kind people but the customer service was bad. I get that the restaurant is small but moving me to a narrow corner because new customers came in didn't sit well with me. But that didn't border me as much as the food. I was charged $8 for two samosas, fine. But the samosa's weren't tasty and what I hated the most was that they were cold. I went back and asked if they were fresh or heated up because mine were cold and they straight up said yes. I went back and tried eating it again but couldn't. I took a closer look and saw that the oil inside was coagulated. I had to ask them to microwave them. If you're not a fan of sweet sauce, don't get the kurma. I was hoping for Basmati or Jazmine rice like in the photos but I was given parboiled rice. I've had way better Indian food to be honest.

This restaurant is scamming people. They are selling 2 pieces of naan for $7.00. I personally sell 16 naan for $7.49!!!

Food was subpar, but food was made very fast. One of our orders was also wrong. They gave us mattar paneer instead of aloo mattar.

The food here is amazing! I've tried several Indian restaurants but this one stood out to me as both the tastiest and most affordable. Food is of great quality and delectable. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Cheese Naan, Lamb Kashmiri and Vegetable Kashmiri. Very yummy!!! As of late June 2021, they do not offer dine-in but do offer an outdoor dining area with a canopy. Super vegetarian/vegan friendly.

I have been here a couple times and let me tell you. These wonderful human beings care about you and our Blackstone community. I hurt my legs pretty bad last week and hobbled from the bus station to them. They welcomed me by opening the door, making sure I was comfortable because of how hurt I was, helped elevate my leg (and iced it to), gave me complimentary pineapple water and after I couldn't bare the pain while trying to eat my dinner, packaged it up quickly, picked up my belongings and food quickly for me and escorted me to my ride for the hospital. The mother of the restaurant held me so I wouldn't fall and made sure I was ok top to bottom as well as the son and Santosh who makes the naan. Great food great people - literally made me feel like I was there own family member with how caring they were. If you're not coming here for great Indian cuisine your either crazy or stupid. You don't know what kind of service and heart these people have.

The food takes some patience. But the flavor is savory and the lamb was so tender. It is a small establishment with a drive through.

This place was worth a second try. I really enjoyed the creamy korma and paneer. I was a little worried after seeing a review of the naan but luckily it was quality stuff (not the frozen store stuff). I was also courageous enough to order extra spicy and didn't get overwhelmed.

The food was pretty good before the name change… we haven’t been back because the older lady that worked there was very rude during a dine in experience and when we brought it to her attention she was basically like we didn’t have to come back…. They definitely lost a customer.

I really like Taste of India, however, I realized even though they close at 9, you do not want to order at 8:15 or later. The rice was so mushy, like the bottom of the barrel. It totally takes away the whole flavor experience. I could not eat it and i was so sad. So much for Friday night meal, especially if paying for delivery, tip, and fees to top it off. Order early and you are in for a treat.

Good food. The rice is very unique in a good way, and the same for the samosas. The curries are good but a bit sweet although I didn't mind it. Solid Indian food!

I've been getting Indian food from here fairly regularly for about 2 years now, about once a week, and it has been consistently amazing. The food is always so good, and the folks running it are super friendly. Highly recommended.

This place was awesome! It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is delicious. It is not very large on the inside, so if you have a large party it can be difficult to fit. The food and service were impeccable!

This was not the experience I expected. I stopped by for lunch. I ordered the mango drink, a starter beef, pea mixture wrapped, and fried. I loved both items. I ordered lamb curry, which was a letdown. It tasted like beef stew. Honestly, I asked to verify is this lamb? I was told yes, but, my mouth said no. I also had buttered Naan bread. I felt like I wasted $30 on a lunch that left my tastebuds unfulfilled.

We are avid lovers of Indian food, and Taste of India does it best! Their food is perfectly cooked, seasoned, and served. I have never had a negative experience. The employees are attentive and thoughtful. The menu has a vast variety for those more experienced in Indian cuisine and those just starting to experiment! The small restaurant does not feel small, as they manage their space very well. The tables and floors are clean, the dishes and forks are of wonderful quality, and overall it is an amazing dining experience. I cannot recommend enough!

Very cozy, to the point restaurant. Service is quick, the pricing is competitive compared to other Indian food places, and the quality of food is second to none. "Taste of India" is a must - try location for anyone looking to try something new and unique. Main stay items like Naan or Tikka are given a special touch, and are noticeably different from any other place I have tried. Do yourself a favor and quit putting this place off
