Stayed
here
for
a
few
days
during
the
college
world
series
because
there
was
NOTHING
else
available
(we
even
looked
at
campsites)
by
the
time
we
were
able
to
book.
We
were
exhausted
and
just
wanted
to
get
a
good
night's
sleep.
How
dare
we
want
something
so
extravagant!
And
here
began
our
adventure
at
the
Red
Carpet
Inn
in
NE.
We
rolled
in
around
10pm
on
a
Thursday
night
after
driving
8
hours
with
our
3
kids.
Deciding
to
tough
it
out
for
the
night
instead
of
sleeping
in
our
van
(a
cleaner
option
even
after
a
full
day
of
traveling),
we
entered
the
room.
A
quick
scan
of
our
new
digs
revealed
dried
urine
around
the
toilet,
dust
everywhere,
a
very
horrible
funky
smell,
no
fitted
sheets
on
the
beds,
and
a
room
that
clearly
had
not
been
vacuumed
in
ages.
Luckily,
we
had
our
own
pillows
and
a
couple
small
blankets
that
we
traveled
with,
so
we
stripped
the
beds
and
tried
to
crash
for
the
night.
Unfortunately,
the
walls
might
as
well
be
tarps
hanging
between
the
rooms
for
how
much
sound
comes
through.
When
the
sun
came
up
the
next
morning
(which
couldn't
have
happened
soon
enough),
we
left,
bypassing
the
"breakfast"
that
contained
about
1/4
inch
of
coffee
in
a
dirty
carafe,
2
biscuits
and
a
crockpot
full
of
gravy
(said
biscuits
were
still
there
when
we
returned
10
hours
later),
a
juice
machine
and
muffins
that
had
expired
a
week
earlier
(I
wish
I
was
making
this
up).
Some
other
highlights:
-
feel
free
to
smoke
in
non-smoking
rooms
and
the
hallway
-
the
workers
"clean"
the
rooms
BAREFOOT!
-
the
"exercise
room"
was
filled
with
work
tables,
power
tools
and
sawdust
-
the
bar
advertised
jello
shots
as
a
"special"
-
no
bed
bugs
that
we
noticed!
-
They
graciously
provided
us
with
three
bathmats
(instead
of
bath
towels).
You
may
want
to
consider
just
crashing
in
your
vehicle
at
the
truck
stop
next
door.
They
tout
this
"establishment"
as
a
"casual"
hotel.
I
guess
by
casual,
they
mean
they
are
casual
about
cleaning,
upkeep,
safety,
hygiene,
friendliness,
food
options,
etc.
