We went at 1130 and there was only a few guest in the main dining area. There seem to be only 1 waiter and three hosts or staff. The buffet looked good so we opted for that. The waiter asked if we wanted tortillas but the didn't arrive until we were almost done with our first plate..they were freshly made though. The place is huge and apparently has dancing in the evening. The buffet was good, some items seemed like the were out to long..carnitas were dry. The pork in tomatillo sauce was very good and so was the chicken mole. May have better luck with made to order dishes, but overall was good. This would be a good place for a large group lunch.

Guacamole Maya is always a fun and lively place to eat. Handmade tortillas in-house, live music, festive decorations, fantastic service, and great food! On the weekends, after 9pm, it turns into a discotech for dancing... how can you not love it! If you haven't gone... it's definitely worth a visit.

Great food and used to give out the password to the Wi-fi but not anymore. :( I had the mixed fajitas for $18. Wish it would automatically come with lettuce, pico and cheese but I always have to ask for it. Which is extra :( Pics are below. Give them a try. :)

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants. The buffet is so delicious and everything is always cooked properly and with great textures. The only reason I take it down 1 star is they always bring me flour tortillas when I ask before hand for corn. I don't know why they always do this but I have an allergy and cannot eat gluten/wheat. They bring me the correct tortillas when I ask them a second time but I always have to get past the first time. I don't know if they assume I'd prefer flour or something, but it is really frustrating and I'm nervous one of these days I'll accidentally eat a flour tortilla after double checking and go into anaphylaxis. Despite this its a delicious place. I've loved this place since I was 10 years old! A place holding up from what you liked as a kid until an adult is impressive. I've re-tried some places I liked as a kid just to be disappointed now that I'm older with a better palate and this place is still just as amazing!!!

I been here couple times and didn’t seem to welcoming. The prices for the food is too much for how the food looks. I ordered a burrito of carne asada but it was plain burrito with only carne asada inside and for $13. Everything is over price and not worth the wait.

Meet a few friends here for lunch. They’ve been coming here for years. They talked it up a bit, and I have to say. I think they undersold it. The buffet was fresh, and I didn’t have a single thing that disappointed. The carnitas were the best I’ve had in Omaha: salty, crunchy, yumminess. The home made tortilla were warm, fresh, and delicious. Desert was on point. I’m looking forward to returning.

As much as I really wanted to love the place because it was recommended several times we ended having a bad experience. At the restaurant everything tasted and look good, service was great until the end. I found a long hair in my beans, okay no biggie I had eaten almost everything at this point so I didn't complain. Later at home, my boyfriend and I started to feel unwell, him a little better than me but still unwell. I had shared some of my carne asada with him. He felt better the next day but for me it lasted several days. I had to share because this is not a hygienic establishment and looking at other reviews makes me think this is not a priority for them.

How are there any 5 star reviews for this place? Fajita nachos was a plate of soggy chips and what looked like chili on top. Zero flavor. $14. Enchilada and taco was a child size portion $13. Service was poor and there was a stench. Find a little hole in the wall restaurant, not the big fancy ones. Gauca Maya. VERY POOR REVIEW

Stopped in after the Zoo on a Sunday evening we were craving Authentic Mexican Food chips were stale waitress was terrible never came to check on us another gal who walked by 4 times refilled the stale chips waited around 25 mins for food 2 arrive to adult meals and 2 kids meals even the rice and beans were cold the highlight was the fresh corn tortillas but bathrooms were disgusting as well not sure if they had club night prior and just decided bathrooms didn’t need cleaned first time there and never going back. I don’t mind overpaying for food but this was a few weeks back and I’m still not over how bad it was if I can save 1 person this experience it was worth leaving the review.

There for th menudo: My mom made the best menudo. Occasionally I get a craving for menudo servedon Saturday's maybe Sunday. From 1-5 I would give it a 3.5 but enjoyable. 4-15-2023 11:30am Met with my cousins and sisters for lunch. Sat near the buffet which many had. I had the menudo. The food and service was great. When I got the bill it seemed high! It is because they put your tip on the ticket, which has another line for a tip to be added. After adding a tip I had to scratch off the tip and adjust the total. The atmosphere was great! The restaurant is on the rustic side but clean. It's a big place with room for a large family or party. The margaritas are good and the buffet is plentiful. You can order off a large menu too. There's a bar, pool table and I think a dance floor.

Wow!! First time coming to Guaca Maya. The atmosphere was pretty awesome. The food, so good. Hot. Fresh. Perfect!! Our server NOAH was too cool 😎 he definitely went above and beyond. You like Mexican food then Guaca Maya is the place to be. (One and only down was the alcohol drinks were pure water. They were pretty expensive as well as nor tasty 😕 )

We live in Topeka, KS but have family that we visit a few times per year in Omaha. My husband and I make a point to come here on a date night every single time in Omaha, and never regret it. We have been about a dozen times or so. Food and service is amazing!! We recommend the Queso Fundido and Molcajete the most!

Had the buffet for a work function. Service, food and atmosphere totally exceeded expectations (even for buffet) and I will definitely be going back to try some of the cooked-to-order fare, which looked and smelled delicious.

I love the buffet is always great friendly staff nice atmosphere I don't know at night for the dances I don't dance much I hear pretty fun ? ?

This place is a dump after dark when dances and music start. Fights break out... Most importantly, their dance scene is as seedy as it can get. Do NOT go there after the hours, a lot of bad element there. It is a very unsafe place inside and outside the area. For your own safety and your car, skip this place all together!!

Very difficult to go if you don’t speak Spanish. Prices are also very high. We tried to order things plain, but came fully loaded so we couldn’t eat it.. we were also there a very very long time. However we were in a large party.

Good food. Very in line with what I ate on vacation in Mexico. Service is top notch. I knew when I was the only Caucasian guy in the place that the food was going to be great!! Everyone was so nice and my server was extremely attentive.

just finished eating lunch here. I consider the food at the buffet to be on par with cafeteria style food. For the buffet and an ice tea my bill was about $19. I like the atmosphere and the seating. I wish the food was better so I could have written a more positive review.

Had the lunch buffet. The enchiladas (beef) were 'hard', like they had been sitting out for awhile and were overhot and hardened". Coke products YEAH !!! everything else great.

Went to this restaurant in March 2022. I wish I could pick a rating of -0- stars for this review, this restaurant DOESN'T even deserve a rating of 1 star!!! Visiting Omaha for the 1st time from Texas I was craving Mexican food. My Omaha family looked at online reviews & decided to take me to Guava Maya. We walked into this restaurant & all we could smell was sewage, it was horrible! I can't believe we actually sat down & thought we'd try something because the reviews were excellent. We were so wrong I don't know what we we're thinking! The service was slow, it took a long time to get our food and the food was terrible & cold along with smelling sewage while we ate. Then I began worrying about what the kitchen looked like. WHATEVER YOU DO DONT EAT THERE!! We attempted to try some of our food, but all we smelled was sewage! Finally we paid & left. I hope this review helps people in their decision to eat at this restaurant.
