We ate at Chili's in Ankeny on Saturday, May 21st. Got there about 1pm as the noon rush was getting over, and were seated immediately. Our waiter arrived promptly and took our drink order, and by time he returned, we had decided what we were getting. We both ordered the "3 for Me" Chicken Fajitas, which came with an appetizer (we chose fried pickles.) The fried pickles were amazing, and when the main course arrived, I was expecting a scaled down version of the fajitas off the dinner menu, but that wasn't the case. You can judge for yourself, this was a monster meal, complete with 4 flour tortilla shells. After having the fried pickles, and knowing that were were having a cookie with ice cream as dessert (sorry - I forgot to take a pic of the cookie in it's own pan) we decided to take TWO of the tortilla shells home with enough fixings for lunch the next day. This is an awesome deal, folks. OK, now for the (men's) restroom. If you follow me or read other reviews of mine, I tend to visit the restroom and make a comment, because I think these facilities are every bit important as the waiters and food. Well, like I said, the noon rush had just gotten over, and I found a number of paper towels on the floor, as well as water slopped around the sinks. I'm not gonna "ding" Chili's for this although if their management reads this review, which I know they do sometimes, I hope they start periodic spot checks of the restrooms. 5 stars for Chili's in Ankeny.

Due to staffing issues chilis can not accommodate over 6 people. We signed up for the rewards program so we can get free chips and salsa every time we go. Food was great, and steak was cooked perfectly. Waitress was very nice, and took great care of us!

The food here was really good for the price. Unfortunately we had to send back some of the chicken because it was not good but they made no fuss about it and quickly brought back some chicken.

Good food. Fast service. There were not a lot of people there when we went. Not much to say above that.

The food is about the same as other Chili's. I do wish the music was better. Not a fan of the electronic dance music, very grating. The waitress was awesome even on her third day. The orders were taken well and food arrived as expected. All in all I would return.

First ones in the door. Everything was clean and was greeted by a very friendly lady. No complaints at all food came out fast and hot. Waitress was a sweet heart plus the best part she made sure my drink was always full.

When my daughter was 5, she said her favorite restaurant was Chili’s even though she had never been to a Chili’s. Later found out, it was because she liked the logo. So, for her 6th birthday last year we took her to celebrate at her “favorite restaurant” for the first time. Last year, the service was great and they made her feel so special by bringing so many people out to sing with ice cream and even signed a card (that she still has!). I thought it was a fluke that we had such great service because we’ve never experienced that at any other restaurant. So when her birthday was yesterday, we had to follow tradition and take her to Chili’s to celebrate. Again, the service knocked it out of the park! I can’t say enough positive things about the staff! They were so great. I love that this is now her birthday tradition but will also make it a goal to patronize this location more than once a year :)

Just had the most god awful dry as the desert ribs. Tasted like they were under the heat lamp for seven weeks. They didn’t even include the sauces that we requested. The chicken tenders were dry as well. This is the third bad experience we’ve had in a short period of time. I’m officially done with this place 🤢… Way overpriced for the quality food that you get.

The southwest egg rolls came out undercooked. Sent them back and took them home. Crispers are always a good bet with fries though I wish they had gravy. Of all of the mid-range dinning restaurants I have dinner at lately, this was the cleanest including the restrooms and under the tables. Waitress was very pleasant and on-top of everything.

Our server, Amanda, was outstanding! Staff that served our food could have been a little more friendly and less upset when we asked for more water. Guess they didn't want to stop visiting with the table full of men to wait on our family. The food was up to Chili's standards, and the atmosphere (less angry food service) was chill. Hope Amanda didn't have to share her tip!

They should probably get a better evening manager we watched two couples walk out as employees looked over at them but never came and sat them, also they were not busy more busy with chitchatting amongst themselves .I eventually just called there main phone line and asked them to seat us since we drove over an hour away to eat there. Customer service definitely needs to be worked at this restaurant and this happens every time I’ve been to this location in the last two years. Food also was sitting for awhile before it was brought out. This restaurant use to have so much potential it’s sad to see it go down hill.

Had a really great meal here with my wife. We were seated quickly and our waitperson was right there. Food was great as well as the service.

Every time my 2 brothers and I go into this chili's we are almost seated immediately and our normal waitress we get is always on top of things. I have never felt like I have had to ask for anything before they get to it first. 10/10

Typical Chili's restaurant with American food mixed with various styles of popular items like pasta, ribs, fajitas, etc. I have to ask, why, oh why did they get rid of the Awesome Blossom onion appetizer?? That was the best menu item they had! Please bring it back, as I was looking forward to ordering one. Guess I'll have to go to the competitor's restaurants that still offer a similar appetizer.

We went for a late lunch and was seated right away. The restaurant was clean and the hosting staff was friendly. Our server was prompt, attentive and courteous and delivered food and drinks in great timing. The food was delicious, hot, and fresh when delivered to our table.

Our waiter did a good job. However, we were there during happy hour and did not get the happy hour price. We were with a larger group so we had to sit at a table. Our server asked if we can still have the happy hour price and they said no. Very poor customer service! I won't be going back. I guess this is why the restaurant was empty. Ankeny has many places to eat to go out to eat with large groups and they appreciate the business.

We went Mother's Day evening the wait was short service was good my quesadilla was a little overcooked very crispy most of the filling was on one side the other side didn't have hardly anything on it I had a hard time eating it

Welcoming staff. They were very friendly and treated guests in a courteous manner. The service was good. Our food came out quickly and was tasty. I would go back.

Overall everything was good. We had tons of food to take home, including my birthday dessert! The atmosphere felt very chaotic, in spite of it not being super busy at the time.The waitress didn't put in our order for chips and queso. Someone else walking by asked how things were and just brought us some. The chips were completely munched and we ended up taking the queso with us to finish with the chips we had at home. The atmosphere just didn't feel settled and it was hard to enjoy being there. 🤷‍♀️

I don't eat there very often but my wife orders takeout there alot and she said the food is always good and the people answering the phones are always super nice!

First I would like to say that the food was good! The hostess was a very nice woman!! But our waitress was terrible!!! She was a sweet young woman and took our order for drinks and appetizers right away. After that she disappeared. Another waitress helped us out more than our waitress did. She forgot the drink refills and a box we asked for. The other waitress had to hunt her down for us 3 different times and it took 2 hours before she took. Our food order. Not to mention the other waitress took our money so we could pay and leave because once again our waitress was missing. She did show up with the change and another excuse for being missing. Won't be going back!!!

I have sensory issues and asked to move to another table due to behaviors at tables around us. Neither the hostess or waitress were willing to help us. They treated me like I was ridiculous. But I was nice about it.We got up and left before even ordering. Won't be back.

A lengthy review but lots to talk about and is meant as constructive criticism for the most part. Upon arrival, front of restaurant has peeling paint. Upon entry, there is a bit of a unique smell-not sure what it was. Table was a little sticky. Host met us and we were seated promptly and server arrived quickly and was patient. I do not care for the PaT kiosks. They are annoying IMO. The menu was not quite what I expected as I didn't see smokehouse options other than combining multiple items and then there were sandwiches, burgers and fajitas. Every menu page(scanned with my phone) pumps you for add-ons and drinks. The feeling you get when you buy a computer and get the whole list of options. Nachos before meal were good, salsa needs to be more for the amount of chips and would be free if you sign up for their program. I really liked the chips-light and crispy. Had the ribs and brisket. Brisket resembled pulled pork and was served on a piece of toast with barbecue sauce. Was minimal serving. Never seen that before. Ribs tasted good but soft like they were made in a roaster pan. Should have a little tug. Fries were great tasting and crispy. Corn on the cob was pretty good too. Overall not a bad experience but nothing really made the visit stand out. Staff was pleasant and attentive.

Our server was very apathetic towards us upon our arrival, and we were seated for almost 45 minutes without being helped by any staff, and we watched other parties come in and get food while our table hadnt even had water brought out to us. We simply got up and left, as it didn't feel like they were terribly interested in feeding us this evening.

This place is one of my sons favorite restaurants. He has autism and the staff is always so good to him. On Valentine’s Day at 6pm I called and they actually let us make a reservation to get him in and seated without waiting in the car for 30+ minutes. Staff is always on top of drinks and chips refills.
