May 27, 2023 Lively restaurant with a Cajun flair. Delicious food and drinks. Large variety of food choices. Plenty of seating areas to choose from inside or patio. After dinner go downstairs to the groovy lounge. Clean restaurant, friendly service. Reasonable prices.

Great place to eat! We sat at the bar and the bartender was great and made the best Peach Mule I ever had! I am only giving 4 stars because they only had one vegetarian item on the very large menu. I got the Southwest Vegetarian Burger which was very flavorful and the fries it came with were awesome! My roommate got the the Tuna Steak and said the sauce they put on it was awesome and it came with the best corn mixture she has ever had. She also mentioned she didn’t think the tuna was cooked that great.

Such a great cajun restaurant! For the appetizer we tried the armadillo eggs- juicy and the bacon was crisp, perfect! I got the Rasta Pasta - it has Caribbean spices and jamaican jerk chicken. Delicious but word of caution- eat it fresh as it didn't reheat the best (a littly gummy and the chicken dried out). Hubby got the Chicken Creole- he absolutely loved it. You can tell the ingredients were simmering all day because it was so packed full of flavor! He also got a cup of the Grilled Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo to go which was outstanding! Reheated very well!

Had an absolutely horrible experience today for lunch. This was my first time trying Buzzard Billy's and I was super excited. We got the Armadillo Eggs and some brunch items (French Toast and Chicken and Waffles) since it was a Friday (they offer breakfast on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays). My hubby's Chicken and Waffles were good, but I was really disappointed with the French Toast. Instead of normal slices of bread this dish consists of 3" tall cut up baguette pieces, which were so overcooked they were hard. Picture browned, hard horse hooves of bread - that is what was presented to me by our waiter. I couldn't even cut into the bread because the pieces were so hard, eventually pulled them open to get out some of the bread instead. I threw out 90% of the bread husks because they were too hard and inedible. The Alligator Eggs were great...until we began to realize that the chicken looked pink. We commented to the waiter about this and he said that "Oh, that's just the color of the bacon near the chicken," but I think it's fairly obvious from this picture that the chicken itself was pink. I also gave some feedback about the French Toast being too hard and inedible, and they did not even offer to comp my meal or give a discount. Very disappointed in the whole experience.

Went here for breakfast Sunday morning. Staff were friendly and responsive. The place has a great vibe and expresses a Cajun theme well. Fun memorabilia is all over the walls, tables, and even in the rafters. We enjoyed reading Happy Days cards on our table. I had the chicken and waffle. The waffle was great but the chicken was surprisingly bland. I suspect dinner/drinks here would be awesome to watch a game.

By far the worst Cajun food I’ve ever had in my life and I’ve lived in Lafayette Louisiana. The corn side was obviously from some kind of can. The nerve of someone charging $28 for a meal that has canned corn!!! And in Nebraska!!! Anyone serving canned corn and Nebraska has something wrong with them !!! I ordered a blacked ribeye and got an overcooked piece of shoe leather. No blackened spices at all!! And it’s supposed to be a Cajun restaurant??!! If you are in Nebraska steer clear of buzzard Billy‘s.!!!Absolutely the worst restaurant around!!! Never ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place hit just all the marks. Food, service, and vibe was all on point. We are here on business from out of town and had recommendations from the locals about this place. We were seated immediately and our waitress showed up promptly to take our drink orders. Her name was Sarah and she was absolutely amazing. She did everything right. Even when a couple of members of our party weren't pleased with their food, she was attentive and patient. She made additional recommendations and went to put in new orders. I had the armadillo eggs and they were fried perfectly. They were something new that I've never tried before and I was pleased. I had mine with blue cheese. I also had the wings with two flavors: sweet chili and buffalo. Both were good and fresh. One of my partners had the bayou flavor. I tried one and it tasted even better than what I ordered. Perfect place to get some friends together and have a good time with good food.

TERRIBLE service. there was a hair in my meal she said she would take it off. then i found another one in my boyfriends food. After that she accused us of “always having a problem” me and my boyfriend have blonde hair. The hair was black. every time before this we’ve tipped well and never had a problem. this is really nasty for it being in BOTH meals. she came out side and screamed “don’t come back” after we were already down the street. told me “i hope you get somewhere in life with that attitude” very disrespectful female after your food had two hairs in it.

Traveling through Lincoln & based upon a previous positive experience at La Crosse location, had high hopes. Unfortunately, came away disappointed. Order the Blacked Chicken sandwich & Gator Fingers. Although the cut of chicken was a bit on the small size, it was nicely seasoned & fairly tender. Based upon menu description, expected the fingers to be cut into strips, but if there was any gator, it was small tidbits that were overwhelmed by the amount of breading. The surface of our table has a stickiness to it, even after our waitress wiped it down. And while understanding these are challenging times in the food service industry, this was my first time being served by a waitress who was also juggling carrying an infant on her hip. Update - Thank you for your response. As evidenced by the exterior photo (people in shorts), my review is tardy. I only recently came across my receipt which prompted my review.

The young lady had went and took my order. It took over 20 minutes even though she said it'll be about that time. But it was so worth the wait...the Buffalo 🍔 is so good. If you decide to order the Buffalo Patty you can get it to any style of Burger on the menu. They have outdoor dining if you decide to sit outside, which is a pretty cute patio, for downtown Lincoln Nebraska. Buzzard Billy's reminds me of TGIF's restaurants with all the vintage items on the wall. Parking is hard to find downtown here in Lincoln. I can't imagine the weekends trying to find a parking space. The building is old and vintage which I love. The architect is very beautiful.

Came here with my fiance for dinner to celebrate his birthday. We really liked the variety of items here! So many to choose from, but the downside was that they didn't have too many modifications available to make it healthy. He got the Alligator Grand Chenier. The dish was just as described. Bearded alligator meat in a creamy sauce with mushrooms and onion. What a massive serving size here! We were both shocked at the size of the dish that came. A large amount of sauce with some alligator meat in it. I was really hoping there would be more meat though. I asked before if it were possible to get the sauce on the side or something but it turned out they cooked the meat in the sauce and it's all prepared ahead of time. It would have been great to get that sauce on the side and control the serving size but overall it was a good dish. I ordered the Chicken Tchoupitoulas(Cajun style grilled chicken breast) which was cooked perfectly and quite fresh. The Cajun seasoning on there was top notch! We both got a side of Cajun cream corn and steamed vegetables. The vegetables were quite a generous amount. And perfectly steamed. A collection of broccoli, cauliflower and yellow squash as well as carrots. The creamed gone tasted so rich and had a really really deep flavor to it. A very very serving size. Here is well. I had some and took the rest to go but ended up not having any more the next day because I called to ask about the ingredients and it turned out they had quite an amount of heavy cream and bacon grease in there. Not the most healthy option, but really good and taste if this is not something you care about too much. He also got a Moscow mule (strawberry basil I think). I found it quite strong because I don't drink too much but he loved it.

First time coming. Pretty dang spicy, reminds me of Thai food levels of spicy. Really enjoyable "rasta pasta" that was like a spicy version of Alfredo pasta with chicken. Alligator tail was good. Nothing bad to say about the place honestly. I'd come here again.

Had an all day experience. Went for breakfast & sat outside. We were so relaxed that we had lunch as well. The service was awesome, friendly. I actually felt like I was in the Big Easy. The food, Sazeracs & Hurricanes were all fantastic. My new spot.

Had a great first time experience here, started with the armadillo eggs in which are chicken balls wrapped in bacon with cream cheese jalapeno poppers inside. The service was excellent and extremely friendly which is great cuz as a first timer I have lots of questions. I recommend giving this place a try and another nice part about it was you could eat inside or outside.

If you're feeling adventurous, don't miss out on their alligator bites. These crispy little morsels are surprisingly tasty and offer a unique twist to your dining experience.

Stopped in to check out some Cajun food choices.. Didn't enjoy the jumbalya, next time I'll try something else. It's also a bit pricy. The catfish appetizers were pretty good along with the service though.

This place never disappoints! I ate on the patio. Food, service and weather was so fantastic not even the flies could bother me. I’m usually a big fan of extra crackers in my soups. But todays soups were so Next Level there were no crackers required! I had the seafood gumbo AND the creamy corn. The servers here are second to none and John proved that again today. I will continue to stop in Lincoln to visit this place and the other fine shops in the Haymarket. I love this town!

Husker Game day experience. We arrived shortly after Buzzard Billy's opened for the day and were seated at a high top in the bar. Service was quick and steady. Our drinks never emptied before we were asked if we want another round. Several breakfast options were available. We tried the Big Red Burrito and Chicken & Buiscit. Both came with breakfast potatoes. Burrito was good but had additional potatoes in it. The chicken was two large fried tenders. It was very good.

They have a gluten free menu that isn't posted online. Very good Cajun flavors. The blackened catfish and shrimp were excellent.
