My wife was admitted for medical treatment and associated tests for 5 days. The attention and treatment she was given probably deserve 6 stars I can only post 5. The facilities are second place to no one. The amount of care and capablities they possess are unbelievable. I can only hope that anyone needing them gets there. I was able to enjoy a few meals with Carol. The food and service also deserves the 6th star. It really cannot be a good thing having to be hospitalized, but they do have the ability to make it as good as it can be.

I came into the ER with a very high BP. They misplaced my information, so I waited a while before they called me for triage. After that, I sat in the waiting area for nearly two hours, waiting for them to call my name. I watched them call every person who came in after me ( some waited less than 10 min). When I finally spoke up, they brought me to the back, where they put me in a bed in the hallway. When I expressed my concerns, the only response I got is I'm sorry. Also, my cousin came in with her girlfriend on the same day just before me, and she was told she had to wait outside; only patients were allowed in the waiting room. While waiting, I witnessed two couples and a mother with her adult daughter and grandchild sitting in the waiting room with no problem. While sitting in a bed in the hallway, I watched them release people from two rooms, and after they were cleaned, they put more people who came in after me into those rooms. I'm still in the hallway

Sadly this is the worst experience we've ever had with a hospital. Not only did they do the surgery incorrect resulting in a second surgery but there was also a HIPPA violation. Now they are not willing to work with us on our bill and providing us with bad customer service every time I call them. Pretty sad for "one of the best trauma centers in the country" If you need to go to a hospital around Omaha I'd recommend you go to a different one.

I have been waiting in the er waiting room for over 5 hours with my 95 year old grandma who needs to be seen. I was told when other people went in before us that had been here less than an hour that they would be quicker than my grandma. Then we were told that she needed a "critical " room so that is why she is waiting so long. I am so disappointed and still waiting.

I am a young man from Africa. I came to the USA with the dream to become a doctor through UNMC. I can tell you something, even in the most isolated village in Africa they will NEVER. I said NEVER EVER make a sickle cell patient wait hours at the waiting room in the ER!!! Been sitting for 4hours already. INACCEPTABLE. Now the pain from the crisis is not even the problem. My frustration is! The worst is the fact that I came in the USA with the hope of getting a “better treatment” at the hospital. WRONG! I regret it so bad. On top of that it’s not the first time. I have been here several times already and it happened each time. Is that the American way of caring for people? They take every body but the people at the waiting room. Everyone coming in the ambulances is a priority!!! GOD!!! And we are all here in the waiting room SUFFERING! THE PAIN!!!!!!! SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! I don’t think I’ll come back here again. I better go back and die in my apartment! Jesus help us!!!

very bad experience, brought my boyfriend cause he got hit in the head at work by a machine & he needed to get checked out . The waiting room was very lonely & the lady at the front taking patients in made me wait outside cause she said there was no space & clearly there was but what made me mad was that all these other white folks stayed inside & she only told me that I needed to wait Outside, very rude! Especially when I’m 6 months pregnant & need to use the restroom every 20 mins .

My husband was treated here twice once in 2016 and another 2018. Major medical attention was needed. Each time they were compassionate and willing to answer any questions I had regarding his care and treatment. All the doctors had amazing bedside manner. The nurses were amazing we had a few not so good but no place is perfect, the techs were pretty amazing even the cleaning crew that would come in to sweep the floors and empty trash. It truly made some trying and scary times in our lives a little easier. The cafeterias were simply wonderful as well as their workers. Social workers did their best to keep us informed and were to go for resources. I am proud to say I live in Nebraska where this great hospital resides.

While I appreciate them for curing my father for the days he was in ICU recently, I don't tolerate disrespect from the first nurse who took care of him. While he woke up at times from sedation, he tried to communicate with the nurses and me about his basic needs. When he would communicate with me, he would try to write and when he did, I understood what he was writing to me. However his nurse stated that I was making him worse and at one point stated if I did not leave him alone, I was the reason why they wouldn't be able to extubate him . The freaking audacity for her to tell me that when it took him DAYS to try to communicate with his nurse he needed to use the restroom until he did on himself . Every time he would try, the nurse would put him back to sleep because he became "aggressive." It was never aggression when he was frustrated because his basic needs weren't clearly being met !! He clearly remembers this and the nurse and has been traumatized from this ever since .

Utterly evil company. Under no circumstances should you seek employment here. They're notorious for predatory, bad faith contracts which they breach themselves without recourse and use them abuse their employees until they're driven out so they can collect back on the contract. Extremely hostile, outright scandalous, disgraceful hospital. Working here was the absolute biggest regret of my life. Horrible experience.

Common Sense would say if you had a person with trouble breathing or heart issues they would be moved to the front of the line to be seen in the emergency department. My girlfriend went up there the other day terribly sick and having trouble breathing. After waiting for over 2 hours in the emergency room she finally walked out. Was never seen. Totally unacceptable. I didn't think the day would go as follows I can't breathe take me to the emergency room so I can sit there for over 2 hours and then leave after getting no help no treatment just giving up. A total joke.

I would give it a zero if I could. My daughter went in with chest pain/ GI symptoms/ ?PE. 3 hrs in ER and couldn’t get seen- so she left and is taking her chances- two small children at home - knowing that the likely good of being seen within the next 8-12 hrs was slim to none. Unfortunately her insurance forced her to go to Nebraska medicine- so no other recourse for her!

UNMC / Nebraska Med is definitely the most wonderful place to go for Healthcare. Everyone from the receptionists to the doctors are so caring. My husband now has an entire medical team here and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. They saved his life and continue to do so. It would be great if all medical facilities could learn from NE Med and learn that your patients are truly your #1. Thank you NE Med for being exceptional!!

This hospital did nothing but make things worse, I presented with seizures and they didn't put gaurd rails up until after I seized and fell out of bed, and then they preceded to deny me pain and seizure medication for reasons they wouldn't tell me at all, even though I was struggling to breathe and couldn't move due to the pain. If I could give 0 stars I would.

care was fine until my provider left to start her own practice. I was told there was no one available to see a new patient but not to worry because they could still refill my prescriptions. That turned out to be a lie. They're now officially more expensive and frustrating than DIY trans healthcare.

UNMC used to be the go to place for good healthcare and providers. Lately it has really gone downhill. I will be avoiding UNMC in the future. Please do not respond to this asking me to call some number. Fix your staff. This review is for the ER. The ladies checking me in were great. We got to a room quickly. The RN was trying to get a small object out, but was having trouble due to her hands shaking so much. They also shook while giving a shot. “Oh my hands always shake!” Well that’s good for you, but I need precision in this case. Another lady came in who did not even introduce herself. Both of them tried to get supplies from a drawer that was locked, but gave up. They continued the work anyway. After the doctor came in, she did not give up on the drawer and finally got the supplies she needed. The doctor was very nice.

As a spouse to a patient with cancer, we have have had multiple encounters with the Nebraska Medical Center systems. We have seen many doctors, nurses, aids, cleaning people, and volunteers. They have all (with little exception) treated us with care and concern of our (her) wellbeing. I would recommend NMC to everyone.

If I could give no stars I would. The most arrogant, racist, uncaring, ignorant, slow, unhinged, arrogant, wicked, terrible staff you ever want to be associated with. It’s like Tales from the Crypt in here. I wouldn’t allow my worst enemy to visit this place. As soon as you walk in you feel a sense of urgency to run for the Hills. The waiting area is like a scene from the Twilight Zone. If you value your life….please don’t come here.

Today is my last day in room 8874. The nursing staff here provided and gave the best, most sincere care I ever received. A VERY special thanks to Bethany and Tyler. They both have found their true calling in a career!

I would rather die than to go here! Staff is mindless zombies earning a living and nobody knows anything, but a supervisor no one sees! If going to the emergency room be prepared to be a lab rat so they may train their students!

The staff at This Pharmacy is top-notch. They were very friendly and helpful, answering all of my questions with a smile on their face! The prices are also reasonable which means that you can get what treatment or medication will work for your budget without having too much trouble paying it off each month.

DO NOT WORK HERE, do not trust management or HR. Patients are being put at risk of covid from the staff not wearing masks. I've seen staff in ICUs and transplant units not wear masks near patients. Nurses will lie to get you fired if you complain and their managers will help along with HR. Outbreaks of covid have happened with patients being affected and yet HR is complicit in not having the Universal PPE/mask and social distancing policy enforced. The commitment to killing coworkers and vulnerable patients with covid is the defacto policy of this 'Medical Center'. I sometimes wish I was dead after things that happened here.

Every single person that worked with me was very professional and made me feel comfortable. Except ONE. She was impatient and would huff and puff when my blood pressure WOULDNT TAKE.

After a whole week of attempts to reach my doctor and nursing staff for a prescription refill with zero return in communication, I am now missing doses. You should change your tagline to "Lack of Care. Insufficient Medicine."

My sister was in the hospital for a car accident & been staying for a couple of days now. The nurses don’t care about the patients, the room is split between 2 ppl and the lady who is on the other side of the curtain hasn’t ate in hours and so hasn’t my sister. My sister pressed the emergency button to ask for permission to walk around the unit since she was in pain and wanted to relief it but no one came to check up on her and there was 2 nurses in the lobby just on the computer acting deaf. I highly don’t recommend this hospital. They don’t care for their patients. The nurses are rude and act like they do not care about what anyone has to say.

I would go with a no star option if given a choice. I visited this place on a weekend as I had UTI. I had it tested positive previous month in a different clinic and asked them to test it once again so that I can get a prescription for antibiotics. I also asked them to let me know how much it costs and I was told that the bill is sent later. And after they took samples, they made me sit in a room for one hour for which they charged $1000, this doesn’t include anything like test charges or service fee, this is just for the room. I tried raising complaint but of no use. I could not imagine myself sitting very normal in a room waiting for the reports has costed me this much and the very sad part is, they dint inform me anything regarding the charges before they started taking samples, though I tried asking them before everything. FYI, the same treatment costed me $50 when I got it done in the before month.

Without exception every single person I met was outstanding. Friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The only thing preventing from giving a 6 out of 5 start review is the food service. If possible the food service would be rated with negative numbers. Breakfast arrives after 10 lunch after 2, and dinner after 9. If you want to order you have to do it hours ahead of time or you get the daily special. Don't under any circumstance order the Mac& Cheese. It's discussing. My recommendation is to get all your food from outside.
