Good place for picnic, water activities and fishing! There is a boat ramp. No drone allowed! You can occasionally spot a dear or a group of deers!

I am doing 4 stars because it’s such a nice place and that too many people have realized that. It used to be my go to place to draw and enjoy some quiet solitude. However, it seems word has gotten out about this place. I still go for the occasional sunset or sunrise, which there is good spots for either there. Just don’t tell anybody about it!

Chalco is a beautiful area. There are so many things to do. Fishing, boating, walking, biking, playgrounds, sledding, picnicking, gaga, etc. I was VERY impressed with the nature playground. My child care kids and I made a fort with firepit;) We also loved the sand play area with spinning equipment!

Fields are OK. They're just mowed field grass, not good turf. Parking is a bit of a pain. There isn't enough for the number of kids practicing, and it's away from the fields.

Beautiful peaceful park. I'm from Oregon and I have walked and hiked many parks in Oregon. Chalco Hills is right up there with Oregon. Lovely lake, deer freezing and turkeys! Clean paths to walk or ride a bike, boat launch and fishing. Beautiful sunset.

I love this park! I usually walk like 5-10 miles when I'm here. there are areas to fish but I don't fish so idk how nice the fishing is but I like to walk or sit at the little spaces by the ponds. Cyclists are good about announcing their presence so make sure you listen out for them.

Love love LOVE this place. Lots of places to walk or bike, both cement and dirt trails. Fishing and small boats are allowed. Connected to a huge soccer field, play ground, and has a great sledding hill next to it! Plenty of shelters for picnics and have BBQ charcoal grills. A few outhouse style restrooms and trash cans are on site. Please drive slow, many people stop to watch deer. Enjoy!

As a photographer, this is one of my favorite places to go both for work and to go on hikes! I enjoy how well maintained this recreation area is and their abundance of picnic areas. I’ve never gone fishing here, but I know plenty of people do and have great success!

This is a great place on both sides. Can see lots of deer, turkeys and often geese. Often see the eagles. Just great for a drive. My love and I went there almost every evening for five years. I miss her every day and think about how she loved the drive.

Beautiful park. E Bikes for rent. Would be nice to have more bathrooms and vending machines, or a water station for beverages. Maybe more signs or landmarks since the trail divides. Best to be prepared. Easy to get dehydrated out on a trail

We take our lab to the off-leash area here and it is fantastic! Never been to a “dog park” like this! Make sure to bring your own water even in hotter months!

SUNRISE BY THE LAKE My time at the park was awesome. Sitting on a bench by the lake, watching the sunrise with my husband was pure magic. The vibe was calm, the air was fresh, and seeing people jog and walk added to the scene. The sunrise over the lake with a touch of city views was just perfect. It got us thinking about a healthier lifestyle, even though we didn't hit all the trails. Simply put, it was a great experience!

This is a beautiful walk. The paved trails give plenty of space for bikes to pass a double stroller with ease. There are lots of benches throughout the loop to let you take a rest or just enjoy the beautiful view of the lake.

Huge park with lots of fishing spots, playgrounds, trails, and deer. You actually can't drive or walk through here without seeing a deer, they're everywhere. All of the facilities are really well kept.

  • 4/5 Chris S. 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful place, good hiking, and not nearly as crowded as lake Zorinsky. If the city puts some infrastructure and activates into the area, this is a five star winner.

The staff care deeply about maintaining this park and do very well to educate those who are interested in what the lake does to benefit both our city and the natural ecosystem around it. I've been coming here for years and even moved out this direction, with this park playing a major factor. Thank you all for putting the time into such a beautiful place.

After having dinner at the pavilion we decided it was a good night for lounging in the park. We looked up to see 2 hot air balloons. The atmosphere is awesome and really enjoy the calm around you.

Must read before you visit this place. 1. It's very beautiful. Nice photography points you can find here. 2. This place got really a nice recreational area along with kids swings and slides also. 3. Walking /Cycling / Running 💨 , you can do many activities here. 4. One point where we find barbeque grill also available. Note: The only one thing , which can be improved is the restrooms. Restrooms are not good at all . But overall it's a nice place to have a party.

My grandson's favorite playground: the rocket ship. Good parking, outhouses, nature trails, picnic tables. All around, a good place to visit. Don't forget to drive the roads looking for numerous deer "hanging out".

  • 5/5 Katkat M. 11 months ago on Google
Very nice recreation area. Place to put your boat into the water. As well as picnic areas & great paved walking/biking paths. The best time to see the deer is early morning & late evening. We counted approx 50 deer on one evening trip here. Right now there are a pair of eagles nesting & raising babies. We went around noon today (on our way home) & only saw 2 deer (& 3 squirrels) at a distance. The deer are not afraid of the cars, so they will stand by the road & let you watch them. Dogs must be leashed & no drones allowed.

Chalco is beautiful! It's a great place to visit if you want to feel like you've left the big city without having to leave the big city. The one downside, which I'll admit could be due to some inexperience, is that the paved trails connect to the adjacent neighborhood. I've found myself having to back track on my bike because I assumed the paths were connected in a loop. If you're by the soccer fields or the lake, it's easy to navigate, but by the playground, you can easily leave the park without knowing it. Overall, go explore! It's a great park with lots to do!

Chalco is great place for hiking, biking, fishing, and picnicking. To go around the lake is about 5 miles plus. I bike it quite often. If you like to take photos, Chalco has nature and wildlife offerings. Its a nice place for the family, friends and/or individuals to relax.

Great trails and a great park for kids to play on. During the summer, go in the afternoon when the park is mostly shaded. Otherwise the slides are super hot. The bathrooms smell super bad but we're thankful they have some there 🤣

Love to enjoy the great outdoors here. It's always well kept up and peaceful. I really enjoy the small crowd. So don't go there. Don't pay attention to this review. Lots of scary deer that like to eat people. Stay away.

This place is amazing. I love being outdoors and listening to the sound of nature. It's a great place to fish, hike, bike, and go kayaking. The wildlife is always visible and you will always see some sort of wildlife. Chalco also has parks for kids to play on and an off leash dog trail. There is also a huge hill which is perfect for sledding down.

  • 4/5 CrosanteYT 3 years ago on Google
Very nice place to take pictures there is various spots. Also a very nice place to bike or run, good scenery. They also have a lake, it is not the biggest lake but it is a nice place to go kayaking. Their soccer fields are meh, some parts muddy, very little grass in some areas causes a bouncy like surface. It is a decent place to play soccer, fields are not high quality.
