👍👍 This is, without a doubt, one of the nicest zoos I have ever been in. It is clean. Most of the animals live in natural exhibits. The restaurants, although busy at peak times, have good food at reasonable prices. Feeding the stingrays was one of coolest experiences that my family has had together... People often mention world, time, zoos, animals, area, Great,

One of the best zoos that I have visited. Great exhibits and environments and they continue to add on and upgrade. The large layout and grounds make the experience not seem crowded. Make sure to do the sky ride and go to all levels of the dome and rainforest.

When my kids was small, we went once a week for few hours. My suggestion (if possible) avoid weekend or May (full of school trips) or summer time. Monday would be least crowd. If you have to go during that time, plan it accordingly. Visit either early morning for easier parking or around 1 pm since most morning people left for lunch. But the best time would be 3 or 4 pm, weather already cool especially in fall/autumn season. Exhibit said close around 6 pm but most likely still open till late. We often stay till 7 pm or start walking to exit around 7 pm. They don't chase people out especially when weather is nice. We enjoyed the playground, digging area etc.Anyway I can't say enough about this zoo. MUST VISIT! And they always make some improvement and make it interesting every year. Most zoo that we visited in US, can't compare with this one.

The absolute best zoo my family and I have been to so far they have literally everything we have been more then once. Lots of food places train ride, lions, tiger’s aquarium, a big cool park and also a mini water park splash pad/mini river AMAZING !!!!!!!! If you are around it’s a must see. We go from the time it opens tell closing time. The Absolute best family time. Everything in the pictures is included with admission except the train ride and the sky ride

This is an amazing zoo! Get here early plan to walk out at closing. The kiosks and rides start closing early, so get those things done before 4:00. This is a large zoo, so do not think that you will see everything on your first visit. Wear your walking or hiking shoes. If you go see a show at the iMax, you loose an hour and a half of zoo time.

I can see why people call it the best zoo in the world! There are so many animals from all over the world and they seem to be doing a great job keeping them safe and healthy! The staff was very nice an friendly to us. The new play water area looks super fun for the kids!

I definitely know why it is rated one of the best zoos in the world. I've seen dozens of zoos across the world and its hard not to agree. A fantastic layout with an amazing selection of animals. Really easy to navigate through and walk around. Everything is really reasonably priced - including the gift store. The baby animals (at the time the tiger cubs and a cheeky orangutan) were the highlight!

We visited a few Zoos, but this one is the best. Our favorite part was the bats section, where they're flying over your heads.

Yes it is costly to spend the day at the zoo, but it is worth it. The zoo is kept very clean, is spacious, and there is so much to see and do for the whole family.

Amazing Zoo! Must spend at least full day. If you have stroller walk park. If no stroller get unlimited ride pass and take train and tram. Lots of interaction and encounter with all types of animals. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

Great for family's and friends. Long time walking 🚶 around . The food is over priced for a bottle water $3.50 and beer 🍻 $5 anything food over $4.50 and chips are $2.50. Bring lunch and save the money for Zoo Shop . The IMAX is amazing and nice to end the trip .

A real surprise, best zoo in the country amazingly better than the San Diego zoo.

  • 5/5 Brandon S. 7 years ago on Google
Get here early and stay the entire day. Then come back and do it for the next week. That's the only way you'll be able to see all there is to offer here. I can't believe how large this Zoo has become and they are currently in construction mode to add even more parking and space! I can't wait to see what it's like when I visit next.

Loved the zoo! Of the 5 zoos I've visited, this one is probably top 3, up with the San Diego Zoo and Detroit Zoo.

  • 5/5 Gavin R. 6 years ago on Google
GOING HERE SHOULD BE ON EVERYONES BUCKET LIST!!!!!! I have been to both the San Diego zoo and this one and I can say without a shadow of doubt, that the Henry Doorly Zoo is by far the better experience. For the amount of money you spend, you pay half as much for easily double the content. This is the best zoo in America, hands down!

  • 5/5 Adam T. 7 years ago on Google
Fun place you could spend all day here!!!

  • 5/5 Paul K. 8 years ago on Google
The Henry Doorly Zoo is such an amazing zoo. So much variety and still many more in progress. Highlights are the gorilla house, aquarium, bear country, and desert dome. Great fun for kids AND parents!

Its so big and has a lot of species. The tropical jungle n the butterflies was the best. It's so big that it takes atleast 2 days to cover everything. However, if you are fit enough, can cover in a day provided you go at the time it opens. And be sure to take lots of snacks.!

  • 5/5 Brandon H. 7 years ago on Google
Definitely the best zoo in the world! So much to do here, and they are always adding new things. You could easily spend the whole day here.

  • 5/5 Brian W. 7 years ago on Google
Friendly staff care about the experience of humans and animals. This zoo is a great place for kids to see how precious wildlife is, and how we need to be good stewards of the earth. The Henry Doorly Zoo does important conservation research, and provides education for people of all ages.

So many new things added in the last couple of year, bring the kids and plan a whole day or more. Bring pennies to smash and cash for snacks and rides.
