Its OK. I just wish they took better care of their stock. You should be quarantining anyway but you REALLY need to do that if you buy from here. A majority of the fish I've purchased had some variety of ragged fins and or fungus and the rams I took home recently had obvious ick spots. Overall the store is clean and has a good selection. Employees are nice enough. On my latest purchase you can see some white patches near the head and the obviously damaged fins. If you zoom in you can also see a few developing white spots, the most obvious being above the pectoral fin.

The selection seems good enough, but the man (who I assume is the manager) with the glasses and tattoos is way too comfortable with the female customers while also talking down to them. I feel myself purposefully avoiding coming to this place again just because I don't want to run into him.

I once relied on NAS for many aquarium and reptile related goods, but now their competitors beat them in almost every possible way. Their selection of both dry goods and live plants are immensely disappointing compared to other local fish stores, and their inventory of wood and rock is a fraction of what it used to be. They only carry the barebone essentials and have little variety for more experienced enthusiasts (co2 equipment, fertilizers, shrimp keeping supplies, even reptile supplies like Repashy Calcium Plus). There's little I can get here that I can't get at petco or petsmart for similar price. Even rats are the same price as petsmart now. If the size of the store is the reason for the limitation then I question why they moved there to begin with. The only thumbs up goes to the staff, I have never once had a bad experience with the staff at their current or previous locations. They are attentive and do their best to help.

Great place for aquatic and reptile supplies. I purchased a uromastyx from them. It's very healthy and the staff was very helpful with care information. Animal tanks are exceptionally clean and well maintained.

Nebraska Aquatic supply has an impressive variety of both fresh and saltwater creatures, as well as aquatic plants! This was the only place in Omaha I was able to find specifically what I was looking for. Their coral nursery is the best I've seen our area, hands down! You can also find an ample variety of supplies and accessories for your reptile terrarium. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! You can tell they really care about what they do based on their clearly well kept tanks and awesome customer relations. 100% recommend whether you're an enthusiast, just beginning your set up, or just simply like to gaze at the fish in the store in your free time.

We visited on their second day at their new location, so we didn't get to see all of their fish selection, but the employees were knowledgeable and very nice. My wife got to hold a snake for her first time, and fell in love with it... she has never shown interest in snakes before so I was pleasantly surprised!

Honestly my wife and I used to really enjoy going into this place and I’ve purchased some animals from them previously. I feel like since they have moved to their new location the animal husbandry has generally seemed to go downhill. When I came in today, at least two ball pythons were infested with mites and were on dry mulch. This creates a severe risk of dehydration. These animals should have been moved to paper towels and quarantined while having mites. I am praying that a verbal disclosure is given if someone were to be interested in purchasing one of these animals, because there was nothing posted. Both employees were busy looking down on their phones. I bought some pinky rats but the sizes were wildly inconsistent. Just overall not a great place to go anymore sadly.

They apparently close early often even though the door clearly says they close at 7pm. 3 other cars pulled up expecting to go in like us. I guess they make enough to close early and don't need business.

It was a pleasant visit. Aquatic supplies price wise is decent or maybe just a tiny bit more expensive than big box. Live stock prices is cheaper. They do carry more variety of live stock than an average pet store for sure. I will come back for live stocks tho The employee is very friendly. She answered all of my questions and not being pushy

We drove 4 hours for a Yellow Nigerian Uromastyx. Less then 4 days later it has passed away. This is not my first Uromastyx and I have several other reptiles. I called and talked to Eli the manager to see what can be done, he would not work with us at all. I told him I was going to leave him a bad review and even offered to video chat with him to show him temps (basking at 119, cool side 81, humidity 11%) he refused and said he doesn't even know if the animal is dead. If you want to enjoy your animals for less then 4 days this is the pet store for you! $99.00 and 8 hours of drive time wasted. Lower end pet stores like petco and petsmart will give you a week and will actually work with people if they sell bad animals. "Heat and Lighting: As desert-dwelling lizards, Uromastyx are adapted to hot, dry conditions. Their enclosure should include a basking area that reaches a daytime high in the 100º to 120ºF range."

My daughter and I visited and were given the best service! The gentleman that helped us was very kind and went above and beyond to answer all of our questions. He encouraged and engaged with my daughter to make sure she was part of the process of setting up our fish tank. I'm so grateful for the excellent service!

Absolutely the best aquatic and reptile store around! You can tell that the owner and the employees know what they are doing and truly care about their animals. The enclosures are bigger than any "pet store" I've ever walked into, they have proper setups for each reptile and amphibian, and they are able to answer questions while still being friendly and conversational. I adopted a fire skink from them and knew I was walking out with an animal that had been properly bred, cared for, and socialized. The next time I went back to get supplies for my animals at home, I was given validation for my setups and offered respect as an experienced chameleon owner. The owner was also excited to show me things that I was interested in and explain that, in the future, I could go to them to find animals that I'm searching to adopt if they don't have them in-store. I just love walking into this beautifully kept space and knowing that all of the animals are taken care of by knowledgeable individuals that truly love what they do. It's like coming home. 🥰

Thanks so much to Nebraska Aquatic Supply for all their help this last year! We started our fish parenting journey not quite sure where to go and how to do things. NAS has not only made the time fun and exciting, but overall educational and stress free! Cannot thank them enough for teaching us and helping us to build our fishes home! Special shout out to Eli, Hailey, Aubrey, and Chuck for answering ALL of our questions and are great people on top of it! They are definitely top notch employees - who help with all of our fish 🐟 needs.

very disappointed. my mom and I both got fish. I got five guppies and she got one. within two weeks hers had ich and now so do mine. called to let someone know that they sold us sick fish and they refused to take responsibility and where very rude over the phone. I have only gotten fish from there so I know mine didn't get it from somewhere else. My tank is small and can be easily treated as its early but as for my mom hers is a 55 gal and just to expensive to treat all of them also all of her fish had been perfectly fine until she introduced the new guppie. Her guppie ended up going down hill and dying very quickly. But as I said they refused to take responsibility at all. I will not be returning and will never recommend them to anyone

High quality fish and products. I only wish they were able to stock a larger variety of fresh/salt fish species. That being said, the quality over quantity model seems to work.

When it comes to gear, you're better off going to PetCo. We had separate fixtures for our terrarium's halogen bulb and fluorescent strip. They both failed at around the same time, so we decided to get a 2-in-1 system. Aquatic Supply had one type of the kind of fixture we wanted (bulbs not included). What they didn't have were the bulbs for that fixture. For the fluorescent, she pointed at an empty spot on the shelf and shrugged. For the halogen, she opened up the fixture's box and looked at it to see what was required. What she ended up selling was a screw-in-type bulb that wasn't even compatible. The halogen was supposed to be a prong-type that clips in, the same as the fluorescent they didn't have. I could see the problem immediately when I got everything home and looked at the fixture myself. The difference was obvious, and I don't even work at a pet store. I didn't think to "make sure" I was getting the right bulb, and the penalty was return trip to the store. The result of that trip was being told they didn't have halogens with prongs that clip in. PetCo did. It's about seven minutes away. They had fluorescents, too. They also had different types of 2-in-1 fixtures. Aquatic Supply seems to have a nice selection of underwater plants and tank ornaments. The rest is very basic. Also, be careful in assuming that the person helping you is some sort of expert.

Love this place! I'm trying to rehab a fish tank and they've been amazingly helpful. Talked to a couple employees about what I need to do and they both seemed very happy to give advice and test my water. I used to be a frequent customer but that was years ago. So glad I went back and even more glad that they were so great.

Yeah I'll never step foot in here again. Customer service is poor, sell you things they know will die or eat all your coral like some of the most impossible fish in the hobby to care of without warning or even saying anything. Lie to you about fish supposedly eating things that they haven't been just to make a sale. Yeah fish freaks is the spot on 133rd and center. Way bigger, emense more knowledge, and are HONEST. They will tell you if something isn't right for your tank or will outgrow it unlike this place. STAY AWAY IF YOU LIKE YOUR MONEY AND A SUCCESSFUL OPERATION.

These guys are awesome. They are very knowledgeable and can answer any questions you may have. This is the only place I buy fish from now they have an amazing selection and actually quarantine fish before putting them out for sale. I have bought probably over 100 fish from them in the past 1-2 years and have only had 2 die the rest are still alive and healthy. In addition my tank is planted and doing very well. The store is always clean and they have an awesome selection. Keep up the great work guys and gals!

Bought a $100 fish from them I asked if it was eating frozen food they said eats live and frozen got It home and tried feeding it everything live and frozen l. Fish died 3 days later after never eating they offer to give me 15% off another purchase lol I will not be doing any more business with them is all I'll say

Awesome store. They helped me take some of my first steps towards a very natural and healthy tank. The spider wood I bought from NAS is one of the most defining pieces of my tank and it’s made all of my fish comfortable to be in a much more natural environment. Staff here are generally informative and friendly. They tend to leave you alone while you browse, so if you’re a pro aquarist who has no questions, this is probably a heavenly environment. For newbie aquarists, you may have to speak up to get somebody’s attention. Sometimes I find the fish selection a bit wanting, but overall it’s a very neat store with a solid amount of options. They definitely do throw some curveball species in there that are fun to see. It’s one of those environments where you could go just to browse and have a great time watching the fish. Fortunately, it’s so much more than that.

I cannot recommend this place enough because of how well they treat their animals. After seeing how unhealthy the fish looked at Petsmart and Petco, I chose to go to Nebraska Aquatic Supply because I knew that they treat their fish and other creatures ethically. The staff are very kind, attentive, and informative. The fish always look healthy and strong. I am so glad to have found this place and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to buy some fish, tank supplies, or even some reptiles and amphibians. You’d be supporting an ethical business.

8/12/2020 Stopped into see the new store and took a few pictures. The new shop has potential but until they can get it up and running it is pretty sad the shape it's in. It looks to me that it'll probably be 6 months before they can really start to compete again. The staff that I talked to was super friendly and explained what their problems were, basically a glass shortage. Poor timing but I'm sure they'll overcome it. 2016 I like this place. I don't buy much because I'm afraid that the fish won't survive in my tank and they aren't cheap. When I get to a point where I'm confident that survival rates are acceptable I might start getting more expensive fish and this place has the largest most diversified stock in the area. For now the fish that I'm comfortable with can be had cheaper at another store.

We had never heard of this place before, but when my daughter had set her sights on a bearded dragon as a pet, our friends recommended we go here. The facility is clean, the staff is knowledgeable, and you can tell the animals were well taken care of. We regularly go visit to pick up bugs to feed her bearded dragon and are always tempted to get another pet. Would highly recommend this place especially if you're looking for reptiles, fish, and supplies!

Nebraska Aquatic Supply is a beautiful fish and reptile store! I came in to buy a sponge filter and some live plants for my fish tanks and the employees knew their stuff about what they were selling. All their fish and reptiles looked healthy. Their plants were healthy and beautiful as well. They have a fantastic selection of drift wood and different types of rocks. The betta fish were being kept in heated and filtered tanks and looked way healthier than any betta fish I’ve seen in Petco or Petsmart. Their Saltwater selection is huge! They sell sponge filters which I don’t see at all in chain pet stores. They also sell beautiful rimless aquariums! Great customer service. Overall great store. I’ll definitely be shopping there again!
