So much to do at the lake from being in the water to hitting one of the many walking to biking or long boarding on many of the trails that surround the lake. Always nice to slow down and take in all of the nature and wildlife as well. Lot of picnic and shelters with barbecue grills to take advantage of year round for fun family gatherings.

Explored this gem of a place that Omaha has to offer to its residents and visitors. Just a breathtakingly beautiful lake with numerous trails and perfect spots to have a great outdoor experience. So well maintained and ample of shed and benches available to leisure around. This place has a soothing & peaceful vibe to it. People are kayaking, boating plus community grills are available too for use and a perfect place for kids to play around . With spring and nature at its full bloom this place is a must visit here in Omaha. I visited in the evening and I am going to come back again here.

I'm sure that when it was built this was a very nice area, but there's so much trash around and things that don't look like the water fountain so it makes me reluctant to come here very often. I was looking for a nice park for the boys but this has so much trash including a couple of discarded socks and other things buried in the sand that it's a little scary. After we left this area we went across the lake and figured out that there is a larger slightly cleaner playground that also has inclusive areas for children with disabilities. We like it much better. #lzdrv you can check out our playground reviews on YouTube. Playground reviews: a little zebra Dragon Channel

Can I just say that even when you drive back to this hidden part of the park, it opens up. Very welcoming. We had a great session of Muay Thai Kickboxing and then grilled out. Not only was our teacher awesome for making us food on the grille, but we had plenty of space to do our thing.

I was not happy when I showed up to decorate the area for our appointed time. When I got there there was another group set up with food and decorations set up. When I confronted them they acknowledged that they were wrong and misread the time. The then asked me if I would move since they were already set up. I said no, that my daughter and son in law has paid for this area and they wanted it as agreed. So they packed up their stuff, which took about an hour and I helped move the items. They just proceeded to move to another shelter which I'm sure they did not speak for ahead of time. We were behind in our plans because of the inconvenience. There needs to be some sort of supervision there so this type of intrusion does not happen to people who follow the rules and pay the fees.

This is a great spot for picnics with barbeques. There are plenty of tables; the grills are close by. There is ample parking and a playground. During the warmer weather reservations are a must to ensure a gathering spot for larger groups (more than 1 table).

We were at shelter 2, which doesn't have a sidewalk leading to the shelter. The other shelters do.

I love running here when the weather is nice. This trail makes it easy to be surrounded with beautiful views and connect with nature without actually being unsafe and isolated while alone. Also the perfect place to bring the kids or go for a walk with your sweetheart. However, I would not recommend in the off season unless you are staying close to your car based on the number of windows being broken out and property being stolen while there are not as many people out using the trail.

It would have been better if the electrical outlets worked in the shelter like they were supposed to that is why we went there otherwise it was nice but ended up being costly after having to rent a generator to cook food for family reunion

Beautiful place for walking, hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, picnicking... I'm sure I'm leaving a few possibilities out, but anyway you look at it, you can't go wrong visiting this lovely park in Nebraska.
