Had high expectations after seeing this highly rated unassuming restaurant. Was not at all disappointed. They started us off with a fantastic salsa, some cabbage and refried beans with our chips. Service was fast and friendly. Food came out with very minimal wait. Main dishes were excellent and fried ice cream was amazing. Wasn't the best Mexican rice I've ever had but was decent enough, that would literally be my only negative of the meal. Restaurant was kept clean and well kept. Highly recommend for a delicious meal.

Food was pretty good - Not amazing but pretty good! I asked specifically for no dairy sauces and it came covered in a creamy sauce which I'm sure was loaded with dairy (see pictures) I spent a good $25 as a splurge and couldn't even really eat the food since it was covered - it was delivery as well so no take back. Little disappointed! Also, seeing reviews about a toothpick in the food and some kind of vessel kinda grossed me out before I even got my food - I checked it and it looked fine - but someone should definitely respond to those reviews to show they're seeking improvements

This was our first time here after driving past this place hundreds of times. Easy off and on I80! Lunch at 1:40pm the place was pretty quiet. Huge seating area, I’m sure they pack em’ in. Winners of, Best of Omaha 2020. Chips, bean dip, tasty kinda spicy salsa (my wife asked for mild & they delivered) and a slaw arrived quickly on our table. Slaw was interesting/never had slaw Mexican restaurant I ordered the burrito with chicken on the lunch menu (goes til 3pm) with oya beans and rice. My better half got the shredded beef tostado beans and rice + and lime house marg. Our food arrived In good times and it was Extremely hot temperature wise. The chicken burrito was full of pretty good juicy white chicken meat, LOTS of sauce, good beans and rice. It did get a little soggy because it had to cool to eat. HOT food served here! The tostado didn’t do so well. Upon arrival it was too hot to touch and ended up being soggy. The shredded beef was good, guac was ok, beans and rice were enjoyed. Afterwards we both kinda felt like a sodium bomb was served. I’m not sure we liked it enough to stop again?

I’ve been coming here for years, This place is so consistent and that’s a huge reason why I keep coming back. One of my favorite things about this place is that along with chips and very good salsa, they also bring out Spanish slaw and refried beans. Their specialty burritos are all good (I’ve tried almost all of them now) my favorite is the Colorado. Today I came in and got the number 18 and was not disappointed at all. This place is always super fast and friendly.

Our visit today was mediocre and borderline disappointing. We ordered the two enchiladas combo, a quesadilla with carne Asada meat (we were told there would be an up charge for the meat substitution, and Pollo de crema and just had waters to drink. We snacked on the chips and salsa while we waited for our order but never saw our waiter again for water refills. Eventually another gal came by for more water. Thr intial plate brought out was incorrect. Instead of the enchiladas we were brought a wrong dish of tacos of some sort. Our waiter immediately fixed it and brought the correct dish, but we didn't see him again. The quesadilla wasn't cut, which was odd. The Pollo de crema was different than I thought it'd be as you have to assemble it yourself and the sauce with the meat was quite messy doing this. It tasted fine but isn't something I'd order again. With how messy it was, it would've been nice having more than the one napkin each on our table, but again we never again saw our waiter. The beef enchiladas were rated a 7/10. When it came to pay our ticket we weren't sure what to do since we hadn't seen anyone and ventured towards the bar. We ran into our waiter doing this and he told us we could meet him at a register to cash out. For the 3 items we had, by menu prices our ticket should've been $35 with the exception of the surcharge for meat substitution but he said our total was $54, he didn't give us an itemized receipt. We didn't realize the prices until we got home to realize we were overcharged. It's not an experience which makes us inclined to want to try again. Also, the women's restroom had no paper towels.

My husband LOVED his burrito. I LOVED my Mexican Pizza. Incredible food and incredible service. We got our food quick, checked on the right amount of times, and very reasonable prices. Definitely recommend!

Excellent service and food. Came in at 930 pm and was welcomed. Closing at 10 pm. Azteca steak was decent, bit more gristle than expected. Recommended for sure.

Have been going here for over 20 years! This place is great! Hearty portions, great pricing, and best of all, it's family owned. One of the best Mexican restaurants in Omaha. Staff is friendly, and they do things right because we have our favorite servers all the time. Good food and you get to see familiar faces is always a plus!

This was my fork idk how I didn't notice it right away till my last bite nearly cut my lip open. My family likes this place for some reason they must be fans of small portions tasteless food and bean dip that is 70% water next time my sister wants to come here for her birthday I'm not getting guilted into it never setting foot in here again our waitress was very nice though she gets an extra star on this

We had been here a few times over the last year or so. Either the last time or the time before the beans were extremely runny, like liquid bean soup runny. I figured it was just made poorly that day but at that point I wasn’t super excited to come back. The family wanted to try it tonight. We were seated quickly but the guy walks with us, sets the menus in a stack on the table and walks away. We all stand there trying to decide if that meant sit down or maybe he was going to find a towel or something. Eventually we sit. He walks up with two extra silverware sets, puts them down and walks away. Just a strange way to start the service I guess. Not a word. Eventually he comes to take our order, no pad to write but hey, if he can remember our order whatever. I order a #15, a burrito and a taco. Our food gets there and right away I can see water or something next to the beans. I figure maybe when they throw the plates in the oven or when they take the plates out in the morning something was frozen. I don’t know, it wasn’t worth complaining about. I then notice I got an enchilada and taco, color me shocked the old “don’t worry I’ll remember” didn’t work. I eat about half the enchilada cause I the other part is buried under the taco and lettuce. I had to scrape each bite off the plate which is just lovely. Now it’s time for the taco, I go to pick it up and the entire middle is completely wet and the bottom opens and everything falls out. I’m now holding two halves of a taco shell with nothing in it. How in gods name that much liquid gets on a plate I’ll never know. Needless to say that was clearly the last time I’ll set foot in that building. It really isn’t that hard to be welcoming, polite, and to serve food that isn’t soaked in water. I promise it isn’t.

First time here, I always order the beef and cheese quesadilla no matter the location. This was by far one of the best. Omar, was a great server and very knowledgeable about all the dishes, the kitchen staff forgot a fish taco, and they were very quick to make it right, and stayed on top of things throughout our meal. The dining area is clean, tables are kept wiped, floor is much cleaner than I would have believed was even possible. Bathroom was clean. I will absolutely come back here

We were there on a Thursday for early dinner, arou d 445, had high expectations as it looks like a hole in the wall kind of place(which is normally amazing). The service was TERRIBLE! We wanted 20 minutes for just drinks and menus! We ended up leaving as our waitress pretty much disappeared from our table. 2 other tables came in after us and had their food before she even came to take our order! Needless to say, we left without ordering!

Great service. They also provide free chips, salsa, and bean dip. The food and drinks are quick to arrive. The food is great and not too spicy.

Love this family restaurant. Reminds me of the Yucatan meals we get on vacation. Chips and beans or cabbage salsa are a great start, and the complimentary dessert is a fun finish. I still love this place 3 years later. My favorite is the arroz con pollo!

A cute little restaurant tucked back by I80. Its unassuming on the outside, but has a nice Aesthetic. The food was pretty good but it's possible I picked the wrong thing from the menu. Everyone else that was present at the table loved the food.

Everything about Azteca is amazing, with the sole exception being the confusing and large menu. There seem to be dozens of dishes that are the same thing with tiny differences. It could be simplified. Besides this, though, absolutely the best Mexican food in Omaha, probably in Nebraska and Iowa combined, and I'm a trucker and would know!

Let me first start with. I am a well verst in the true taste of Hispanic food. Living in the souther desert of California. Mexico was 5miles from the front door. The restaurant served me a plate of street tacos and salsa with these beans that will blow your mind. It sent me on a express trip to Mexico right here in the middle of Omaha NB. What a diamond in the rough. The down home amazing unique family flavor. Backed up by the family values and service driving this trian. Hat is off for this place. All i can say its a must. Please take the time and come enjoy a real taste of Mexico family style. My family Thanks you so much for a great meal to end our day with.

Had Carnitas de res and Sopa de Albondigas. Portions were MASSIVE for a very modest price. Food was delicious.

Great authentic Mexican restaurant on the southwest outskirts of Omaha metro. Great, comprehensive menu with anything you could want with regards to Mexican food. No annoying background music, which was great by us. Most staff appeared to be bilingual if you have family that only speaks English or only speaks Spanish. The service was slightly slow, but the restaurant was also rather busy. So maybe they're dealing with staffing shortages like everybody else. Didn't impact the food, which came quick and extremely hot from the kitchen. Portion size was generous; certainly not small. Beans and rice are delicious. They specify that the first basket of chips and salsa are complimentary, whereas refills have a modest charge. They DO NOT appear to offer pitchers of margaritas or happy hour specials in case you were wondering. They DO have a fully stocked bar and can make you anything you like I would imagine. Saw a large family of about 20 people having dinner together, so they can accomodate large groups. The attached photo to this review was the specials offered in addition to the menu. Both tacos al pastor and spinach enchiladas were delicious! Solid restaurant and a good dining experience.

We stopped in for lunch. The free chips with beans, coleslaw and salsa were nice. The portions were good but it has such a great flavor. The meat in the entrees were very seasoned. The food came out very quickly. It was just anout 30 minutes from the time we walked in to when we walked out. The cost was reasonable as well. I will have to try the dinner menu soon.

The Chicken Tortilla Soup was delicious! The Chimichanga was also good. I found the cabbage salsa interesting, I added some of the red salsa to it to give it a kick! Our server was polite and attentive. Overall a good experience
