👍👍 This is a really beautiful, peaceful place. In the summer, you can sit by the little pond listening to sounds of the fountain and the cicadas in the trees. People often mention park, nice, great, Nice, kids, Beautiful, area, playground, walking, pond,

It's a beautiful park with trails for walking and biking. However one can drive through this small park. Many big trees give you a soothing experience and it has small pond, kids play area, benches, shelter, grill and enough parking available.

Great place, a mini national park in my backyard! Clean beautiful great place for the kids to play or walk the dog. I even see people fishing at the pond/fountain. A nice place to jog or relax.

Nice size flat sites. No water on sites. Need to put on water and can be a wait. Road through is blocked while waiting. Walking or biking trails on and off road.

John Johns Jacobson here, per as usual, to tell you my thoughts feelings and opinions. Something about Johnny here is that he loves a good walkabout that feels fun and exciting. Walnut Grove Park is for the most part those things, expansive and nature like. There is a lot of fun to be had here. Unfortunately it does need some picking up and maybe a new coat of paint on all the buildings, but that’s not what Johnny here was coming for. Overall this here Walnut Grove Park gets 1 fat squirrel out of 4 walnuts.

Stopped by for annual family pics. With it being very late fall, none of the trees had great color leaves, and many of them had already dropped their leaves. We've used Walnut Grive Park for family pictures before, so we had an idea where we wanted to take pictures. There was a light rain when we arrived, so we rushed through the pictures. But, we managed to get some good photos.

We've shot multiple portrait sessions here. The tree clusters are awesome and the hills are great for sunset sessions.

This is a great park that I go to rather regularly and it is a great peaceful park in the area. The trail is paved and rather hilly. There is a pond, kids playground, many benches, and plenty of parking spaces. Although, my only complaint is that the bathrooms are usually closed and not well kept.

Nice, maintained park with trash receptacles available for use. Great pan fish fishing for kids. Adults can catch a few cats and bass too. Please practice catch and release though.

Walnut Grove Park has come a long way since I was at MS High School many years ago, that's for sure. The playground is updated. There's plenty of areas to play fetch with your dog or explore with the Littles. Also, the pond area is great and well maintained, adding just enough extra to this park! We even brought lunch and ate at the picnic table near the kids' playground! Overall, it's a great outdoor atmosphere!

Very nice big open park. Very pretty and no trash was all over everything was in the trash cans. The only thing I didn’t like was the eating picnic tables were ants galore so had me super itchy quickly. Over all awesome spot for a lot of things. We will be back .

Nice park. Shady, lots of trails, fairly clean. Minus two stars because no public restrooms.

Really nice hidden gem within the city. Usually able to grab lunch and head here to eat abs enjoy the scenery. There is a pond, several shelters to relax. Lots of walking or bike trail within the park. Many mature trees help provide ample shade during the hot summer months. Trash cans are provided so its a very clean park without the litter.

Beautiful park all seasons was on a fall photographic mission and love the terrain of this park and the peace and quiet you can experience there.

We do alot of birthday parties here. We love the location- the bathrooms aren't always open and they aren't very close to the playground. So a porta potty would be nice.

Nice mid-sized park with walking trails, a small fishing lake, playground and many picnic tables and pavilions.

This park is lovely! There is a decently long loop to walk under the walnut trees. It's quiet, clean, and beautiful. Our dogs love wide open walking, so it's nice to spread out when we get a little too excited and barky. There's also a nice shelter that I've seen people enjoying.

Small urban park with lots of Walnut Trees. Paths for walking and running. Picnic areas. Not over crowded.

A Nice place to go play for a minute if you live in the area. Close supervision suggested as theres no fence between the playslide and the creek / bridge 20 ft away. That would be a game changer upgrade

I love this park. Nothing fancy but it provides a great getaway to nature in a very urban area. A nice pond that is aerated to keep it healthy. It does have a covered pavilion that can be reserved. The park is also on the Lake Zorinsky trail loop making it a nice walk or bike ride. It has a ton of walnut trees and from what I can tell you can pick up the walnuts on the ground. It does have a nice children playing area and picnic tables. There is also an osage orange tree in the park if you need hedge apples.

We reserved one of the shelters, but we're short several picnic tables and the room was pretty dirty. But, kind of to be expected for an outdoor place. Loved having the restrooms as a part of our shelter. Good times were had by all.

Had company in from out of town with kids and it was perfect to give us time to talk and the kids running around and playing. Should have brought more water or we would have stayed longer.

Great place for a X-Country Run. City does a great job of maintaining the park.

Really nice park to walk in. Nice elevation changes. I am a little disappointed they didn't put in the disc golf course though.

Nice park like taking the dogs here for walks... wish they would build a dog park they have the extra space to do it

One of my favorite city parks. Usually clean and not too crowded, decent amenities. Nice little playground and paths. I especially like the lake and fountain.

  • 5/5 Jaye Elle G. 3 years ago on Google
It's a big park with a lot of space for everything to do. I love it here. You have golf courses if you are a golfer; Baseball ground for both kids and adults; children playground, picnic area with chairs and tables; workout area; and jogging or biking trail. Overall, it's a very lovely park to enjoy your summer in Omaha. Also, it's within University of Nebraska at Omaha, so you can see many students enjoying their time and studying along side. It's a very happy and happening place to go to. PS Also, as it's big, there may be some safety concerns (have seen UNO pass many public safety concern time and again), being alert should be a goal.
