This is a splash playground with an Alaskan wildlife theme. Kids can choose to get wet or really wet. Tip: if you or your kids choose to change into or out of swimwear for this experience, skip the old, tiny bathrooms at nearby red barn park. There are quick change areas for kids on the perimeter of the Alaskan Adventure, or go around the corner to the new Adventure Trails area where there are large new restrooms, a large baby changing area, and family restrooms.

Since the website says its open I drove 2 hours and payed $170.00 to have fun in the water with my 4 year old just to have to explain to my 4 year old that it was closed for the season. "UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE OR OPEN THE WATER PARK!!!!"

Love the splash park. Great place to let kids run, it has a single entrance and exit. So it is easier to keep an eye on kids and let them freeplay. Also great place to cool off in the summer. Wish they had more area for changing, etc.

9/21/2023 This place is loads of fun in the summer when it's open. I'm assuming it is closed now because school is in session and it is not hot enough.

Free entry with zoo.admission ... check the website for changes.... huge splash park. Huge 5 to 7 ft water spouts. And a side kiddie splash area. My 8 10 and 2 years old love it. <i also apprciate it quite a bit... i Great way to start off a hot day before you walk outside the final hour or two.

SO FUN!!!!! Absolutely worth the visit! I took my grandkids and they played for hours. Even in the heat of the day it is worth the walk! It is always clean, always packed full of people but the new expanded area is awesome!! There are more shade canopies so that f you are not in the water you can still chill.

The splash park is amazing! It has unique statues with fun water spraying out of it. There are a lot and kids have a lot of fun playing in it. It is truly a great place for kids to play on hot summer days while looking at unique sculptures and playing in cool water. It is amazing!

The splash park is a great addition to the zoon for the hot days. we love it! It does close at 4- which is early compared to the rest of the zoo. I would recommend having staff give a 15 minute warning to families in the splash pad versus just turning off the water at 4. it causes confusion and frustration.

We planned a trip for 9/2. I checked online to see if the Alaskan water area was open. Online it said it was open 10-4. When we walked into the zoo, there were no signs that said it was closed. That was the only reason we came to the zoo. Such a disappointment to get here and have my 6 year old be disappointed because she could not play in the water. I wish Omaha zoo did a better job of updating wether it was open or not, especially when the zoo is still in summer hours until September 30th. What a waste of money to not be able use the water when that was the only reason we came during summer.
