This park was the most enjoyable park I've seen in Des Moines so far! The wading pool was SO cool. 1'4" Water was almost warmer than the 85 degree weather, it was so nice we got in in our street clothes haha! New neat park equipment. 10/10 recommend.

This is a beautiful park with a nice splash pool in addition to playground equipment. It is clean and has lots of shade for everyone- even around the water area, which is so nice for parents/caregivers!

This park is fantastic. The splash pool is a great size with plenty of room for kiddos even on busy days. The playground equipment is new and my kids loved it.

We've always loved the wading pool since it also has spray features. A few years ago they put in new playground equipment that's awesome! There are areas for older and younger kids alike. Also, there are walking trails in the woods behind. The bathrooms are usually open from spring through the fall, and there's a decent sized shelter house.

We love this park!!! Something for every age! In the summer the splash pool is great! Little water to 'swim' but you don't have to stress as much as a pool

Nice park! There are separate areas for 2-5 and 5-12 and great nature walking trails.

Why is this place always closed? It was like this last year too. There’s a sign saying “Closed today” but who knows how long that was there & how long it’ll stay up. When it’s open it’s a really fun place to be 🙂

Not too crowded and well kept. My son had a lot of fun woth the small playground for toddlers. Great area to picnic while the little ones play!

Went for a birthday party! There was inclusive swings which was nice to see. There was a big kids playground and a little kids playground. The splash pad was nice and my kids really enjoyed it, the wadding section was closed so that’s why there are not 5 stars.

We attended a birthday party here and it was great! There’s a good pavilion, lots of shade, a grill for food, bathrooms, two great playgrounds, and an awesome splash pad/wading pool. All the kids were having a blast!

I really enjoyed this play area for kids although the lady who was in charge of the place and many moms almost hot into it on my visit. I understand the rules they are posted on a sign besides the splash pad but I also understand kids can't control their energy and have the need to run. Maybe if the lady who is securing the location came of a bit more nicer there wouldn't be soo many problems. Running full speed should stop but lightly running on the sprinklers I think should be okay... but that's my opinion.

This is such an awesome park. There is a big kid playground and a little kid one. Also the splash pad is awesome, fun sprinklers and even a shallow swimming area. Great for kiddos of all ages. PSA: Don't be the jerk who sets your kids free here and doesn't watch them rules are in place for the safety of everyone. And don't be the jerk who doesn't clean up after your dog! If you're not going to clean up after them, don't bring them to a public park!

The spark is pretty cool and cleaner than most around the area. Cool little trail through the woods is fine too

Great park! Has playgrounds well suited for little and big kids. The splash pad and wading pool are a highlight in the summer for my toddlers.

We had my son's birthday party here and rented out the shelter for the day. The two playgrounds are maintained beautifully as well as the overall park. The shelter was clean and easy to set up and clean up. My son has always loved this park because of all the different things to play on. It is a plus that there are plenty of other parents and kids that seem to play well together.

I arrived at 5 something today and the water is off and draining! The sign says it's open till 7 so the water should be shut off by 7 right not 5? Just because they are wanting to get off by 7 doesn't mean kids fun should be cut short. Either change your signs to reflect that you are shutting everything down before the posted time or leave it on!!!! Also life guard at this location is awful

We went to Ashby Park for the first time this week! It is at the top of the nicest cleanest parks in the Des Moines area for us! It has a little wading pool and splash pad so kids of all ages can enjoy! They also have 2 big playgrounds with all kinds of fun equipment for the kids to play on! There's plenty of shade and benches around the park. Also a nice shelter house with picnic tables and restrooms! There is a field to get a game of baseball or soccer going! Beautiful facility and free! 😎😎

Great little park where we hosted my niece's birthday party. Had a nice pavilion with restrooms and electrical outlets for food. A few unique play areas and a splash pad/wading pool which opened later in the day. Unfortunately the splash pad wasn't working entirely so no fountains but all the kids seemed to enjoy themselves. It was also staffed for safety.
