This place was pretty interesting and neat! If you're an art lover this is a place to check out for sure. It has art from local artists which makes it interesting to me and even things from the workers are posted up for all to look at. They were under construction when we went but our guide still showed us around and even let us go in and check out the up-and-coming exhibit. That was awesome. Even took us to another building with even more art and a lot of art books available to check out with a student ID.

Love this place. Omaha is rich in art spaces, but this is a GEM. Truly beautiful space dedicated to such a wonderful artist with meaningful contributions. Progressive people and a thoughtful library as well. It’s small but worth a couple hours a few times per year.

It was a really interactive and immersive experience. This month they are featuring the senses. An interactive experience from the perspective of autism. With my niece having autism I could really appreciate and truly experience this installation.

I love this place! I've gone to Kaneko quite a few times over the years. This is one of my favorite spaces to visit in Omaha, and by far my favorite art space in Omaha! Enjoy some photos c. 2017 or c. 2018.

We have been to several exhibits and are always impressed with the quality art displayed. The most recent exhibit "Reality" allowed us to look at photos from a different perspective, explore a virtual view of Omaha, as well as reminisce with sldes in view finders. The upstairs gallery held a host of items that opened our minds to traditions and art from years gone by. One of the most interesting displays was one of various Hair Wreaths.

It would be helpful for people to see the museum if you posted the correct hours. I ended up wasting alot of gas money and time working around schedules. I arrived Sunday morning at 10 when Google's listed hours said they open. Walked up to a locked door with door reading "Sunday hours noon to 5".....ok, frustrating, but I'll change a few plans and come back after noon. Came back at 2 to locked doors again. Called them to hear a recording saying "Sundays open noon to 5". After some research, I find in tiny print hardly legible at the bottom of their website, Sundays CLOSED. Googles listed hours are WAY OFF as a heads up to other customers. Super disappointed a museum of this quality overlooked such a big and important detail - especially when their hours are so unusual.

I'm not sure how I felt about common senses. While I feel like it had good intentions, it missed the mark for me. As an autistic adult i just had a very mixed response to the installations. While "Worms Eye" was the most interesting, I felt like it lacked the autistic lens I desired. The living room (that changes colors/lighting) was good in concept, but the colors change far too rapidly and could easily cause sensory overload. The cardio chairs maybe would strike a chord for more non verbal autistics. I did not get to interact with the piece beyond the sensory/cardio chairs portion as it seemed under maintenance. I wondered how many autistic adults had a hand in this? Young representation matters, but young autistic people grow up to be autistic adults. Many features seemed geared towards either a neurotypical lens of understanding autism, or a very specific subset of neurodivergent people (children) I just felt a little let down, as I was hoping it would have more things that reflect my experiences.

I LOVE the Kaneko! Their exhibitions are fantastic and free for visitors-such a great asset to Omaha’s downtown. The “Light” exhibition just opened and runs through the end of March, I believe, but it is so worth everyone’s time to go check it out! The entire exhibition is beautiful and the interactive portions make it a lot of fun! Definitely make time to get into the infinity room on the first floor, which the workers explained draws quite a crowd during peak hours (mainly weekends), so you might try to go during the week for best results. It was neat to see their expansion plans as well and to learn about the next phases in developing something of a campus downtown! Bring some cash to donate to their building fund!!

Only one exhibit currently, disappointed they've started charging $10 a person. Used to go all the time when it was free.

Two words: very Instagrammable. Escape the winter weather by checking out a free art exhibit in Omaha - two floors of exploring different ways to play with light and shadows, including an "infinity room". Very kid friendly and you can take photographs of everything (on your phone, as long as you're not using the flash).

Really beautiful museum. Fewer exhibitions than usual when we went - we were there for the Omaha Under the Radar festival. Check in to see what is on view before you go!!

We are so lucky to have Kaneko in Omaha! The art exhibits here are always top notch. They usually switch exhibits every quarter. There is no admission fee and a suggested $5 donation (no pressure to do so). There is lots of metered parking that is usually available right next to the gallery. Check out their website/social media for there long list of events.

The time I went had an amazing art work that displayed a beach and waves projected to the entire room with silk curtain. The exhibit allowed the viewer to touch the sculpture of the waves. It was an amazing experience of the 5senses and it was all free. This was definitely a hidden gem.

What a cool experience! I visited for a conference and it was gorgeous. The artwork was interesting and varied, big pieces were laid out like waypoints and acloves held smaller items. I loved looking around and exploring all the pieces! For the event, they had artists "on display" - one was painting and another was doing pottery. It was great watching them work and asking questions. Great idea for a fun event!

👍👍 Went in and so many friendly people. One man wanted to show me how to work with glass because I told him I was interested in it. I bought on of his let glass frogs. This is an awesome place to visit in Omaha. Definitely a place to go just for fun and watch people create masterpieces. I can’t wait to...
