Chill vibe at a modern spot by the water. They have inside and outside seating. They do serve alcohol. They may not allow children in during specific evening hours. The food was actually good. Even though my vegetable roll was simple, it was satisfying and their spicy mayo sauce was also delicious. I'd recommend!

Not sure when, how and why i had to go through a bad experience that am not used to under kempenski management. It was an anniversary event and zale ruined the entire night despite that i let them know during the booking process. Came to zale for the open sushi, to get shocked with the limited items on the menu and also to get news from the chef that mango roll is off the menu because he doesn’t have good quality ones “go to carrefour and buy some” The sushi looks ok but tastes like bitter and disgusting. Fact: ill never eat sushi at zale even if it was the last place on earth. Thank you for ruining my anniversary night 🙂

Sounds nice: an evening drink by the sea and then a stroll along the beach. Regretably it didn't quite work out like this: you can't choose where to sit, the service is tardy, and you are "not permitted" to go down to the beach via the cafe. Overall, a disappointing experience from what is advertised as a 5☆ hotel. Try a small cafe near the harbour instead - you get better service and a "sea" view over the harbour without any quibbles.

We arrived @ 7:58 pm waiting for the waitress to come @ 8:01 to tell us the policy was to wear smart casual attire after 8 pm when we were wearing shorts before this time. When we asked for the manager RAYMOND to let us in, he argued with us for a long time. He was giving us many excuses and many shocking claims at how he will enforce this policy. For example, when we explained that there are people in the restaurant with shorts already, he said that he will tell them to leave and wear pants. This claim is very disrespectful to the guest and us as well since it is obvious he will not treat customers like this (or maybe he does). He gave us other restaurant “recommendations” (basically telling us to go away) and telling us to let him speak when he is saying disrespectful things to us. When you have a policy, make sure to actually enforce it, otherwise it is a guideline or a recommendation. This wouldn’t be a problem if the manager was lenient or strict with this policy, but it became a problem when he was enforcing this policy INCORRECTLY, as we arrived in shorts before 8 pm!!!

Their menu isn't super extensive, but what they have is good. It's their atmosphere that we go for. It's so lovely sitting outside on their deck in the evenings during the winter!!

Zale Location: Kempinski (Al mouj) Timings - 12:30 - 2 a.m Zale just as the name ' has a perfect location right opp the beach . This vibrant beach club has lovely view at the day that turns into a classy lounge by the night . The restaurant menu offers a multi cultural cuisine , but favouring more to asian eats. with their shareable portions enough for 2 . We opted for small bites and 2 main course . The Edamame - perfectly seasoned . The beef boa buns - tender beef with soft buns a good boa for sure . The dim sums of chicken and shrimps are definitely recommended. luckily the orders were brought one by one , to have enough time in between relishing the dinner . The main course were a little least impressive, both the seafood platter (char grilled seafood)and the zale chefs selection (sushi and sashimi) could definitely do a bit of their homework. The desserts of berry compote (Rote grutze ) 'who doesnt love this summery dessert ' in a cool weather. the mochi for our guest played a fair part. A shout out to dewet the mixologists of zale who did an fantastic non alcoholic mojito with less sweet & as much as freshness of passion fruit . The service was perfectly good, our host Angelica made it to a very beautiful evening, definitely gonna be back ! definitely recommend this place for an romantic early dinner , ladies night or just a reason to get out !

Used to be one of my favorite spots in Muscat with one of the worst so called "managers" I have ever came across. My wife booked a table for us for my birthday were we met with the worst frowned man who asked if we had a reservation than pointed to a table and left us standing. We had to ask a server to show us to the table we reserved. Then we asked for the bill and mentioned that we were told that we would get a resident discount. We waited too long so we decided to go to the front desk to pay on our way out. There we were again met with this rude person that stated using his hands and telling us we don't understand and when I argued with his way he started raising his voice on me infront of my family. Even his colleagues were very dismissive of his behavior and he treated them with no respect. I asked for a Manger he told the security find me "anyone" and kept on raising his voice. I honestly don't understand how a five star hotel can accept having someone like that treating clients with disrespect and talking down to them and even treating his colleagues with this level of unprofessional manner. He obviously can't talk to people and can't work with a team and very rude and disrespectful. He ruined our evening and humiliated me in front of everyone.

Beach Club?? How can you be a beach club and not allow shorts. Need to adjust your dress code to allow beach attire or change the name.

I recently dined at Zale and unfortunately had a very negative experience. Despite arriving hungry and eager to eat, my party and I had to wait for a minimum of 30 minutes just to place our order. The service throughout the meal was consistently poor, with requests for basic items such as napkins taking an unacceptably long time to be fulfilled. To make matters worse, during the meal, hot soup was spilled on my foot by a member of the waitstaff. Shockingly, no apology was offered and the staff only asked if I wanted ice for my injury - which was not even brought to me. In addition to the disappointing service, I found the food to be only average. Overall, my experience at Zale was quite unpleasant, and I would not recommend it to others. Hopefully, the restaurant will take steps to improve their service and quality control in the future.

It was my birthday and we decided to celebrate here. We mentioned the fact that it was my birthday to the staff but they didn’t even wish me a happy birthday. Boo. On top of that, they told us we had to leave by 8 pm because I was wearing Birkenstocks. The reservation email we received from them clearly said no flip flops and no shorts after 8 pm. I had long pants and Birkenstocks which are leather sandals and do not have a thong between the toes like flip flops. Omani men were even wearing the same thing. But apparently they can while other nationalities cannot. It’s just not right. Even if I were wearing flip flops, which I wasn’t, my feet were tucked beneath the table and not even visible to anyone. So in any event, we had to leave early which is fine because they just know how to ruin the evening. The food was horrible too. Way overpriced for really nothing special. I call it foo foo food. I think it’s more a place to have some wine and peanuts, while sitting next to the beach. Note there’s no more dim sum on the menu. Also there were a lot of mosquitos. We were getting bit a lot. A lot of reserved tables but nobody sitting at them when we got there and when we left.

Good atmosphere in the evening but Tuesday sushi night was disappointing (some of the sushi didn’t feel fresh)! The main order took more than 1h to arrive…

Since we set in the table one after another staff was coming & bothering us to order one after another & quickly cleaning the table, the vibe we got is they want us to leave as quick. We kept quiet & finally while we were walking out .. one staff stopped us to ask did u sign the bill!?! What kind of behaviour is this !?!? Never faced in last 15 years in Muscat. Don’t u have table number !?! To check if the bill has a cleared or not ? & why there is no coordination between staff who is taking order & taking the paid check. It was so offensive!!!! Poor people with poor mind ! This kind of 5 star restaurant sud have proper way to check table bill is cleared or not on the system where as I have my number over it. rather harassing the guest. We also work in service industry; so we know exactly how to deal with guest / customers. Or u r just not to get to see well dressed people !?! So many questions!! Simply spoiled the mood !

Huge lounge with beachside seating. It was buzzing last Thursday night, although the weather isn't perfect yet. The cocktail menu could be more interesting. The tapas were yummy, and so was the chicken kabab. The sushi is not their forte, so avoid ordering it. Overall, 4 on 5 stars, as the staff appeared to be very confused with the orders (maybe just learning table numbers).

A very nice place but so expensive and hard to get attention of the staff as you can see they are always busy and under staffed. If you are there for a deal you'll enjoy it or else a bunch of people who drink decent, order a few drinks there won't be very happy with the damage in their pocket. It's very very expensive as compared to other places in muscat. Same with the count down bar (sports bar). However even though they have minimal staffing the staff is really good at services and friendly.

Overall okay with a nice view, quiet atmosphere and professional staff, but i was disappointed with food, especially with a lobster. It was served with extremely sweet dressing, that killed a lobster taste, and a half of the portion were onions. I can eat onions, but not the whole plate. Unfortunately i had to give away my dish. So i don't recommend to take it. I ordered as well 2 juices and french fries and at the end paid 15 rials. Honestly i find it a bit expensive. I paid 17 rials for brunch without alcohol at Hyatt and it was amazing. There i could eat the grilled lobster as much as i wanted with lots of dishes aside. But here at Kempinsky i got less with a sweet onion lobster.

Honestly this place has a lot of potential but the staff just ruins it. I had to wait 45 minutes for one roll of sushi and when it came it was so salty and bad overall. The weather was nice so tried to enjoy by sitting outside, was met with smokers who didn’t stop the whole time. I pointed it out to the staff and they said smokers sit outside so basically only smokers can enjoy. When I asked for the bill had to wait like half an hour until someone brought it and it was the same person I asked and saw walking around doing nothing. Great view, bad staff

It was my birthday we went there for some drinks but the drinks arrived after an hour we were still okay with it as we can understand the busy hours but the drinks were pathetic full of ice inspite of asking the hostess for less ice !! we ordered for liquor based drinks both of them were so light arrived late ,bill arrived late as well . After taking a sip we left from there ! I regret trying those I should have ordered beer atleast it won’t be diluted with 99% water and ice ! It’s a shame when such five stars serve stuff below standard quality ! The snack bowl of peanut and a beach side table was the only good thing for that evening .

I had 3 dinners here during my stay in Muscat. Zale lounge is a great place with an amazing see-view atmosphere if you stay outdoor (no alcohol outdoor during Ramadan). The menu is not so wide, but the quality of food and above all fish is very high. Seared tuna (starter) and lobster (main course) are highly recommended, while octopus might become a bit chewy if you don’t eat it fast. The staff is well trained and nice, highly appreciated the restaurant manager explaining us the reasons beyond the dress code.

I came here a few years ago, the service and the food was good.However I wouldn’t recommend it at all now. Unfortunately on my recent visit, I was surprised when the waiter misheard me and after it insisted on me saying the wrong thing, instead of fixing the problem or compensating us I was being rudely accused of something I didn’t do or say, such a disappointing manner, standard and quality of customer service for a place in a 5 star hotel.
