This place is awesome. The new owners were busy updating, but very accommodating, and the place was exactly what we were looking for. Inexpensive, clean, a place to eat, sleep, and relax. The only complaint would be the furniture, it's old and uncomfortable, same as the mattress. I have a bad back, and it was a bit difficult for me. Having said that, I'm sure at some point those things will be taken care of. Don't let that stop you either...the views of the lake, being on the lake is priceless...

We just spent our first weekend here ans had such a great time. The location was perfect being so close to the lake. We enjoy spending time on the beach so this is important to us. Our little cabin was perfect for my two kids and me. The kitchen had everything we needed for simple meals, plus there were grills available outside. I didn't realize when booking that it was a pet friendly resort, but everyone's pets were so quiet and well behaved I hardly noticed! The kids loved taking out the kayaks that were available to use. The view from our cabin could not be beat. We were lucky to get a beautiful sunset each of three nights we were there.

Had a great stay at Superior Shores over the fall colors weekend. Our little cottage was very clean and comfortable and had everything a couple could need for a cozy stay on Lake Superior. Owners were great to deal with and quick to help if we had any question. We were caught in a winter storm on our checkout day and they even offered us out of concern for our safety, an extended day at no charge. Definitely can't say enough about what a nice experience we had there. If you're headed to the UP and looking for a nice central place between the Porkies and all the action, give them a look.

The resort beach area has a gorgeous sunset view. We could see a little of the lake from our cabin which was nice. They could do a better job welcoming people. There was trash in the bag in the kitchen and the heat was off. It was a chilly day and it took 2 hours to warm up the whole cottage. But the stove did work very well.

Overall a great stay. The beautiful scenery, pleasant guests, and location make it very worthwhile. We enjoyed the quaint cottage and down time. The facilities were clean and in good working order. The pullout couch was very uncomfortable. If you want modern, this is not for you. If you appreciate stepping back in time, try it.

This place was very nice! I highly recommend this for a family reunion! It's located next to the small town of Ontonagon, and the people are quite nice! I know the owner there, and he is a very good at keeping the area clean and comfortable! While it is hours from a big shopping area(like Costco), there's a small store located in town! Highly recommended!

Check the cancellation fee before you book here. I unfortunately had to cancel with 3 months notice because of a family emergency and they still charged 10% of the full amount. With 3 months notice!! Never heard of that in my life. Better make sure you won't need to cancel before reserving a room here. Many other motels in the area and they let you cancel free up to 48 hours before. Do yourself a favor and choose one of those motels over this one unless you're positive you won't need to cancel.

Great location!! Awesome property. Easy check-in. Room was a bit dated. Flat pillows. But I definitely would stay again.
