We got to Bruges today and picked this for lunch and so glad we did. We both had the fires with beef stew and grabbed a croquette too. The fries were amazing! I don’t think I’m a fan of croquette’s, maybe too cheesy but Stacey loved it. Good service, classic fries and beer👌🏻

We took the burger deal with some home made croquettes (crevette and classic vegetarian cheese). What a good surprise! French fries are just perfect. Not too small, not too big. And if you like croquettes, then you must try it. Definitely a must-have. On top of that, service was very fast. We will come back for sure!

The fries are very good! Recommended taking in the menu coming in with the fries, sauce, a cheesy croquette and beer. For future, wish they offered the possibility to order extra green onions as they go SUPER well with the fries & sauce.

What say about this excelent place in Brussels? First of all, forget all the bad reviews. We went to Brussels and visited this perfect place to eat. Everything was really very good. The service, beer, potatos. There is a little line that can do you wait a few minutes until go in, but this is not a problem. I really recommend this place. Once in Brussels, is a place to stop and eat there.

A very busy place, but I thought the food was delicious. A giant sausage with very tasty mustard and some fresh apple, not to mention the fries and mayo. Great beers on the menu too. Just would've preferred a bit more space to eat.

We stopped in for a late lunch snack. We were not hungry enough for a full meal, and the potato bar had exactly what we were looking for... loaded fries with cheese, ham, and sauce. We split one order, and it was much more than a snack. We weren't sure what size to order, a medium fry with our special sauce - Old Bruges Squirt. We also wanted to try a croquettes and picked the meatball. It was delicious! Be careful however when diving in... they are really hot! It was 15 Euros for the combination. The server came to our table to take the order, and you pay at the bar when you are leaving. We left full and happy with our choice. If we were hungry, the burger would have been very tempting it was much less than the others in the area.

Good but not the best food we had. The shrimp croquette was delicious. My egg topped frites were good but would be better with the ketchup on the side. The chicken and apple was definitely the best choice IMO! Beers good too. We tried to come at lunch on Thursday and it was sooo busy. Came again on Saturday at 6:30pm and had no trouble finding a table!

Great fries! Basically, this is classic Belgian fries but really well done (super crisp!) and you can sit down. They also do croquettes and, because I guess people want them, burgers.

After walking around the town and missing one of the fries place, we absolutely love the experience at The Potato Bar. The fries are offered at various sizes for different stomach sizes. We ordered the Bruges cheese and beef stew, and with a farmer sausage. All fries are really tasty and served hot from the fryer. The sausage was amazing with tangy mustard sauce. And the price is probably the most reasonable for the quality in Bruges.

The fries were spectacular. Every topping was loved by our group. However, the burgers were very disappointing. Would suggest to stick with fries and croquettes

Super fast service and a great place for fries. They offered many different menu items including some classics. We had a sausage dish, which was good, and a ham and cheese croquette. We asked for the fries without mayo, but it came with. They have sweet potato fries on the menu as part of some vegan meals, but would not serve them independently (as a side like they do with their regular fries). I also ordered the chicken sandwich and it was not good at all. The patty was very processed and tasted like a Tyson’s frozen patty. I would recommend only if you are looking for a classic fry—those were very good.

Unfortunately we had to wait for 10-15 minutes before we could get a table outside. Nothing the staff could do about that. The girl who waited was super nice and took our order real fast as soon as we were seated. We got fries (duh) with toppings that were delicious. Keep in mind the portions are bigger (and heavier) than they look.

Gourmet fries for less money. The prices are fair, considering the portions and the food. The staff was friendly and we had a good time. Nice interior as well. I will be eating here again!

Really enjoyed all the options available, the combo meal options for fries and a beer, and the fun and funny names. Really recommend!

So good we ate there twice, found this gem on our first trip to Brugge years ago and it's traditional now to always pop in. It's a funky place and always busy. Serving the best Belgium chips with various toppings and beer. Staff and always friendly and service is super fast. 😋

Saw the great reviews and decided to try our first Belgian fries here. Since outdoor seating was full, we sat indoors, where it was stifling hot and they barely had any air circulation. It took a while until the server took our orders, but the food came out quickly and warm. The fries were standard with tons of sauce. The sunny side up reminded me of a Big Mac in fry form. It was good, though overpriced for what it was (€11 for the large fry including toppings).

Cozy spot with a quick seating despite the usual crowds. Opted for the fried chicken burger—juicy and perfectly fried, although the fennel sauce felt more fitting for fish. Personally, I'd prefer honey mustard. Great music, attentive staff, and lightning-fast service. Easily one of the top fast food spots in Brugge for me.

Die Pommes sind super lecker, die Kroketten der Hammer. Am besten die kleine Auswahl nehmen und die Meatballkrokette. Sollte ich wieder nach Brügge kommen, geht's direkt wieder hin.

Nice cozy "friture" with friendly staff. The fries were nicely fried, slightly cripsy oitside and soft inside. Prawn croquette which was served with a keropok (prawn cracker) was nice but nothing spectacular. Beer was light, crisp and delicious. Goes well with the fried food. Would have given 5 stars but I found the sauces at €2 for a ramekin (it's claimed homemade) & the prawn croquette €5 to be expensive. The prices of the fries and drinks were expected from a tourist area with higher rents. Still cannot get over prices in Europe for water and beer are the same €3.20 each. I guess thats why many Europeans drink beer? 😅 I paid €24 total for my "street food snack".

Really great fries. Very reasonably priced as well. We had the fries with beef stew topping and "mussels from Brussels" - both very delicious! Great portion sizes as well, the large was absolutely huge!

original toppings and super quick service and I like the fact there is no take away which prioritizes the patrons sitting (nowadays that's no small feat to say no to deliveries and take away). Nonetheless, I was disappointed the (nice) staff were not able to accommodate a simple request to put ketchup on the side whereas they had confirmed it was possible (they even sent the cook to force me to accept the fries, not in a hostile manner but if they had well communicated it would not have happened). Last but not least: the fries were decent but I could not find the usual Belgian recipe so I was not overwhelmed (and the toppings were ratively expensve).

We are vegitarian. We loved avocado burger here. It was really delicious and had very good flavors. Staff was also very friendly and courteous. I recommend this for vegetarian people. We went there again but it was closed. I wish we could have one more meal over there.

We went here for a quick dinner after arriving in Brugge on Saturday, it was quite busy but we were able to sit at the bar which was great! We especially loved the ham and cheese and vol au vent croquettes but everything was so delicious it is hard to choose a favourite.

Let's start with the good points; good prices and the food is okay. The young people are doing their best and are friendly. I'm not a fan though of the old school chairs. Not nice to sit on and not so stylish. Maybe they had a thight budget si let's forgive that? The place is a little bit cramped too and I'm certainly not a fan of those big, silvery pipes on the ceiling. Makes the whole place somewhat industrial.
