Great experience! The food is great. They offer a Japanese menu with an unexpected twist. The environment is well looked after and nicely decorated. Cozy vibes. Very good service. I would definitely recommend it!

First of all i have to say I tried many times to eat at the Benoteca but it was always fully booked, i went yesterday for the first time and i had high expectations. Staff welcomed us professionally. Nice looking menu a bit to small of a choice when it comes to first courses ... so we decided to take about 6 starters to share(advised on the menu 3 to share). i have to say the waiter had a quite strong scent of sweat... ask for wine by the glass...only natural wines, ok i can survive, but not giving the choice of having a normal wine, lets agree to disagree. When it comes to food, creative dishes but the taste it self was not remarkable. Some of the staff that brought the dishes to our table explained them , some other dishes came and where not explained, a bit of inconsistent service, and we had to wait 30 minutes between the first two entrees and the others, considering they give time slots to eat of 1h45m (from 19:15 till 21:00) they need to pace the service accordingly...over all, not worth the hype. P.s. the Asop hand wash in the toilet was refilled with a cheaper soap

Bentoteca can be considered one of the most amazing restaurant in the city of Milan. The way some local raw materials are treated is simply awesome. The true fusion of local ingredients and Japanese process brings you an explosion of flavor that is hard to forget. The wine selection is mainly natural oriented but also here the selection is meticulous and also the true veterans can find their own path. Prices are very high sometimes but the experience is worth the expense.

A typical spin on Japanese cuisine, with some items feeling gimmicky . their bestseller, the katsu sando, turned out to be the least enjoyable among our orders. The Tskune were rock solid , & the Chirashi don resembled the quality of a Poke bowl , only you’d pay 5x more . Overall , No Fomo , just pass on it

I’m ABSOLUTELY amazed by this restaurant !!! All of the staff are friendly, welcoming and professional for asking my food allergies in advance. The atmosphere is relaxing and even for dining alone (not all Michelin restaurants are friendly and good arrange to solo diner) The nature wine pairing is awesome as some bottle of them are not easily found in Milan. Overall, it’s way more higher than the average. I been trying a lot of Michelin restaurants and few could make me not feel greasy, the chef’s pairing from first course to dessert are totally fresh. Best Japanese restaurant I ever had in Milan, love it so much🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

I like to try new restaurants in Milan, and I heard about this Bentoteca from instagram. From the look of it the food look delicious and the page also looks really well. But when I come there and try to make a booking the staff is rude and fake. We order many things and the only delicious food we eat is the pigeon, the other is ok and overpriced. So i am sorry my honest review is the restaurant is overrated and please teach manners to the staff.

(Translated by Google) Good good good! Super special environment and wonderful dishes; excellent natural wine selection. Eat the drunk pigeon, it's unforgettable. (Original) Buono buono buono! Ambiente super speciale e piatti stupendi; selezione di vini naturali eccellente. Mangiate il piccione ubriaco, è indimenticabile.

A cosmopolitan take on Japanese cuisine. Would highly recommend especially if you’re looking for Asian cuisine with local inspirations. The tuna roll featured a couple tricks over a typical temaki that made it very interesting. The fish was fresh from Portugal, producing a delicious otoro. Bone marrow is always enjoyable from its over the top rich fattiness, and here it is topped with a marinated raw squid that had a well complementing texture. The toast was charred, a great detail that adds just that small bit of flavor to each bite. The veal tongue Katsu Sando had a thick cut of tongue, which is tender and exceptionally flavorful. The addition of spinach is delightful. The eel in the bento was grilled very well, it had a fair bit of resiliency but still the softness of eel. The Basque cheesecake was delicious, creamy and eggy yet not heavy in anyway.

It was a great dining experience here! We had the omakase menu and every dish was chef’s kiss! The 2 rounds of starters were fabulous! We love every tuna dish and the chicken & eel skewer too! Service was really remarkable, very personable and friendly! Will definitely visit if I am ever in Milan again.

I’ve been here many times. Food is delicious! Really love their negitoro and their chicken and eel skewers. The menu changes based the seasonal ingredients. I recommend to try 3-4 dishes to share and then a main course each

Excepcional food (tasting menu 90 euro per person). Good service but it felt all in a rush, as there are two turns (we were in the first). They asked us to leave when we didn’t even had finished our drinks. If I spend that amount of money I want to enjoy it. Tasting menu and alla carte shouldn’t have the same timing.

Great selection of food. I took the Magura Zuke, rice with raw tuna. Quality of the tuna and roe were excellent. It’s a shame the fresh wasabi was not available, but service, atmosphere, and food was great. Price per dish was €15-30.

Excellent mix of Japanese and Italian food. The staff was super with wine paring. We hade the set menu, and that was dreamy, well balanced.

Was a blast! Japanese driven with an eye on Italian comfort cuisine. Yoji Tokuyoshi is a Culinary genius. A must when in Milan.

Came here for dinner, and was blown away by both the helpfulness of the staff and the quality of the food! Very much worth your money! My only regret is that I didn’t order the sashimi!

Our meal at Bentoteca was brilliant. The waiting staff were really friendly, attentive and gave great recommendations for our order. The selection of natural wines were amazing - I was apprehensive of the usual mix of weird and unsatisfying natural wines, but each wine I tried was fantastic, especially sparkling Goretti Ancestral. The food was excellent - each dish was presented in a simply but impressively, and they were all delicious. The tuna w/ egg & soy sauce starter and the grilled salmon main were stand out dishes, but everyone was the perfect mix of fairly sophisticated and ‘refined’ while still being really satisfying and filling to eat.

Booked in advance for a table of 8, gotten a glass of their recommended less dry white ; not very good. Was almost filled on starters, bone marrow and chutoro temaki were memorable. Not a fan of their hanger steak, a tad too chewy for my liking (medium) Salmon bento was great, loads of sides on the bento, salmon cooked perfectly, pickles were great, small cuts of tamago in the corner. Loved it. Yakisoba noodles were too thick for my liking, was expecting actual buckwheat noodles. Sauce was too sweet, as noodles were just wheat noodles, lacked some depth in the dish. Overall great experience in milan!

Such an incredible lunch with friends! The staff was kind and helpful, the place is beautiful, the food was delicious and the value for money really worth it! Can’t wait to come back :-)

Below expectations. The only good dishes were the Negitoro and Yakisoba, the others were quite tasteless. Nothing special, service was ok, wouldn’t go back.

Two visits and I’ll be back. Superb service and a very inventive and changing menu of Japanese inspired dishes that defy description. It is a gem of a place with only the finest ingredients and imaginative presentations of local produce and fish.

(Translated by Google) There are restaurants and then there is Chef Tokuyoshi's Bentoteca. And nothing is just to try and enjoy in all dishes. The first restaurant after opening could only be him. Always at the top. Congratulations on everything.
