Great service and results! Had a terrible farmers tan a few days before a wedding (and wearing a strapless!) And needed it fixed! I called and they recommended a spray tan which I've never gotten. Gave me a list of things I should do before the tan, gave me an appointment, saw me right away, and the tan looked amazing! The manager custom made my color and it looked so real I couldn't believe it- wonderful service, staff and treatment for this first timer!

This place has every type of tanning you can image. There are two floors. They also have spray tanning. I took one star off because it's a little pricey if you only want one session but they have great package deals and have sales once in a while. The staff is always friendly and happy to answer questions. Open even days a week and open pretty late.

My advice to anybody that decides to join this place as a member or just a random customer is to be aware of the fact that if you have cash they will not accept it but instead tell you they don't have change.and then ask for your bank card, which really surprised me! Also this happened to be the picture ID I had shown them minutes before asking for payment in the beginning when asked for ID. (unaware I needed to present ID when I called days ahead to schedule my appointment too). They had me fill out paperwork which didn't apply to the Airbrush appointment that I requested but to a tanning bed instead. Their staff was very rude and will let you walk out the door if you don't have the exact amount of money rather to accommodate a new customer and will try to keep your personal paperwork if you don't demand it back! After experiencing this humiliation in front of other customers how could you not ask for your paperwork back! P.S. Beware of this place on 30 Ave & Steinway in Astoria, N.Y. its not as clean as it looks..

This is a great place to tan. It's clean and modern, the tanning beds are state of the art, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Due to the sudden change in the weather (from freezing and snowing to mild and sunny), I'm doing outdoor tanning this week and probably next week too (two or three days as the forecast is calling for some rainy days mixed in too) but I would definitely go back to this place during that time of year when outdoor tanning is really not an option in NJ. Anyway... I strongly recommend this business!!! You will not be disappointed!!!

Very friendly and knowledgable employees. They answered my (many) questions without frustration and recommended exactly what I needed for my price range. It was very clear that she was there to help make people's days a little brighter and she definitely did that for me. I got the first level package, used that low level stand up twice and got nice and red. I'm Sicilian so I turn brown very quickly so when I went today for my free Sunday tan (awesome deal, just need to buy a lotion) I opted for a higher bed. Now, I have worked in 2 separate tanning salons in my life so I know tanning beds very well. This bed was something else. It legit looked like something out of Star Wars 😅 I did the full 12 minutes and when I came out, before I even got to a mirror one of the girls who works there was like "WOW" so my first thought was (remember I used to work at salons, so I know how they handle the customers, always complimentary) but once I saw myself in the mirror I was BLOWN AWAY. I got crazy color from this bed. INSTANTLY!!!!! I have 2 sessions left in my package and I can not wait to get back in that spaceship looking miracle worker!!!

I go to this salon for spray tanning all the time. Ask for Kaitlyn when you go. She does a really even spray and knows how to mix up the right color for you. She is also super nice and professional. She always asks how I like the tan and if I want any touch up. You can tell she cares about her job!

Never going here again. Would rather use the stand up at the gym. Bought a month package on the 9th of May (as reflected on my receipt and bank statement) Went back a week later and was told it was expired. Manager came and fixed it and I was back in business. She told me I was good to go until the 10th. I went back today on the 6th and was told it was expired and that I purchased on the 7th. I showed the receipt but they responded that their computer says otherwise. Showed the bank statement and same answer. I would not have minded as much of this was the first time this has happened to me. It is in fact the third time. First time I was sold a package and an expensive bottle of lotion at their 31st street location. I had been going there for a couple of years with only the usual hiccups. That store uses to let you leave the lotion bottle at the store. 2 days after they sold me the bottle of lotion ($250) and a package, they shut their doors. No phone call. No email. No letter in the mail. No refund. No return of the brand new bottle of lotion. I am pretty sure they knew they were closing when they took my money two days prior. At the very least they could have told me they would no longer hold lotion bottles for customers so that I would not have lost it. The entire things makes me upset. They don’t seem to care about anything when discussed with them. As they said, their computer doesn’t lie. I guess that means my bank does.

A great tanning salon franchise all around the city. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. -1 * because this particular location doesn't provide water for customers which is ridiculous as all tanning salons have a water cooler after you to hydrate and refresh. But other than that I love the spot

I had a very unpleasant experience. When I selected the service, they offered me a valid promotion. However, after closing the transaction and making the payment, they informed me that the promotion was no longer applicable. I raised my concern as the information was provided on the same day. They assured me that someone would contact me, but I never received any follow-up. I feel deceived.

DO NOT GET A spray tan here. short girl with glasses never changed the bottle in the machine sprayed with dry air. i addressed this to her and she dismissed me and said it was normal. well i wasted time and money and got no tan.

Was honestly horrified by my experience here. I walked in and the entire place was under construction, tools all over the floor that customers can easily trip on, construction men outside the rooms already made me uncomfortable to begin with. Mid session, while I was obviously naked and relaxing, I open my eyes to see a man standing inches away from me in the bed and hearing multiple construction men talking to him from the hall - door wide open, my body completely exposed. I was so terrified I didn't move or say anything because I was afraid and mortified that they could see me naked. Finally the guy left the room after "realizing someone was in it" (isn't it obvious with the noise, lights, and bed closed ?!). After I was sure they were out, I ran for my clothes, left early and told the manager at the front what had happened. The response I got was barely apologetic, no acknowledgement of how unacceptable this is, and when I asked to be refunded for the session I clearly wasn't able to use (the least they could do) she said she'd give me a credit to come back do another session (ha). Honestly this business should be reported for operating with the entire place under construction, doors not properly closing, and men all over the place. Clearly they prioritize revenue over client safety here (now also charging extra for winkies). Strongly advise to stay away from this business!

Im never returning to this location. The impolite staff was not what pushed me to write this review. My experience using the Cocoon Wellness Pad at this location was awful. It was placed in the small isolated room upstairs and didnt have a functioning light. When i asked if it was broken, i was told it just works off a sensor. The sensor did not work appropriately. My entire session i was in the dark, while changing/prepping and while in the pod. Additionally i didnt think it had been properly maintained over time - there was a stain in the pod. I refuse to return to a place that finds that kind of environment decent.

Beach Bum Tanning in Astoria is quite simply, the best !!! All the girls behind the counter are friendly and informative. I have been a member for almost 20 years if not more. They must be doing something right !! Lol.

Absolutely unprofessional and rude representative at the front desk. No transparent prices on the lotion and other tanning products. Unsafe tanning practice, they don't put effort to offer or explain where is the eyes protecting gear and if it should purchase separately. Receptionist is absolutely rude, and remote from what she is doing. If you respect yourself, stay away from this business.
