Treasure Hunt: The Ride

Tourist attraction Children amusement center Theme park Amusement park ride

👍👍 Honestly, Treasure Hunt: The Ride is super fun, and something Cannery Row hasn't really ever seen! It's immersive, the storytelling is great, and it's the closest "Disney" level ride Monterey is going to get! Honestly, Treasure Hunt: The Ride is super fun, and something Cannery Row hasn't really ever seen! It's immersive, the storytelling is great, and it's the closest "Disney" level ride Monterey is going to get! EDIT: Rode the attraction again yesterday on the official grand opening, and I can say that the ride has significantly improved! The treasure hunting staff were smiling and engaged in the adventure. There are now little crosses that you're directed to aim at, making the shooting element of the ride feel that much more complete. It's now only $25 for unlimited rides all day which is a incredible deal, and $20 for a single ride which is perfect. With these changes, I can't recommend the ride enough!

As a local I can appreciate something new being placed at this very touristy location. It's nice to see the improvements and there is lots of attention to detail in the overall presentation of the ride experience. After purchasing the tickets (we bought the experience with the extra $5 boost) we were told to go downstairs. The whole thing is about 20 minutes long from beginning to end. The rules are explained to you via video screen and also by the staff member guiding you onto the elevator to the "caverns", and to the ride cart. This is where the interactive portion starts. The ride itself lasts maybe 5 minutes which is virtual target practice for points. Everyone in the cart gets to shoot at stuff. Lots of things happening, so it was a tad overwhelming. It was fun for my 9 year old. He had a good time which is what I was hoping for. He doesn't have the patience for long lines in an amusement park setting so this was perfect with no wait when we showed up during lunch time. We really enjoyed the shooting booth after exiting the main ride. I assume it's part of the Treasure Hunt. I would ask the owner of this establishment to establish a price for locals. We'd come more often, but otherwise this is priced too high, IMO. Hence the 4 stars.

    * Treasure Hunt: The Ride is a pirate-themed, interactive adventure where guests are transported through a newly discovered system of caverns located beneath Monterey’s historic Cannery Row.  Guests will climb aboard Cavern Cars and work together to battle a pirate skeleton crew, collect lost treasure, and escape from the mighty Kraken.

Great ride for the money. It is in the center of a tourist area that everything costs a little more so don't know what others complain about as it's the cheapest thing around. We walked down the stairs and saw a really informative video on how the ride operates and what to shoot at. I don't know what others are talking about when they say they don't know what to shoot at. With the videos and elevator ride make the whole experience about 19 minutes from going down the stairs to the exit. I will be doing this again next time I am there

First time here. We purchased unlimited passes for the day. Its a fun place for kids. The staff is friendly and are happy to answer our questions. The guy who tells the story in the elevator is great. Made it more fun for the kids.

Super fun! On vacation in Monterey Bay, we walked by and had to try it. The staff is great with kids, and they had us all laughing from the time we stepped on the ride until the minute we left. Thanks!

Imagine our surprise when we were visiting our favorite weekend getaway destination and hearing a pirate calling as we walked through the plaza between Fish Hopper and Bubba Gump. We had to go see what the fuss was about and sure enough, we were greeted by a pretty well done pirate animatronic and some pretty cool sets. An employee greeted us as we walked up to learn more. She did a great job telling us about the ride, how it worked, and what to expect. Turns out, it was a soft opening weekend and they were offering free power-up tokens. My husband, 5 year old daughter, and myself all decided to give it a try (okay, I'll admit that I was the most excited--I love pirates). All of the staff was great, and the ride was very well done. I was a little worried that our 5 year old daughter would be scared but she loved it. This is a great addition to Cannery Row. I can see where it could get a little pricey for larger families but being a family of 3, it was well worth it. We would do it again on our next visit.

What a treat!!! It felt like being at Disney land’s pirates ride but more interactive! My husband and I happened upon this super cool well-made ride and had fun competing to get the highest score shooting objects throughout the whole thing. I was impressed with the detail in decoration and video. The ride was thrilling with surprises around every turn.

Beautiful, fun ride! Best looking attraction on Canner Row. Super nice staff. A bit crowded on opening day but worth it. They gave us some cool swag while we were in line!

We absolutely loved this experience. This was like The Pirates of The Caribbean meets the Buzz Light Year Ride at Disneyland. The shooting game was so much fun, and the set design was EPIC! It’s a good price too for the experience. I highly recommend this experience.

We had a TOTAL BLAST. The all day pass is beyond worth it (as is the power up token)- we are two fun loving adults and were super engaged/fired up the whole ride!! As it was a slow day, we were even treated to another ride without even having to leave the cart. Front of house + ride staff were super professional and lovely. This will now be a destination after our yearly visit to the aquarium!
