My wife and I visited the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden Tuesday, July 20th. The place is well maintained by friendly volunteers. We arrived after 11am most of the birds were gone. We both like hummingbirds so we took pictures of them to share. Please make a donation on site to keep this place operational.

Lovely gardens! I especially enjoy going here to hike a bit with my daughter, family, or friends! My boys like the children's garden area and the kid's park.

A lovely place. I really appreciate the wishing tree in the children's garden - it's so interesting to look through the wishes people have left! They also host interest events; I enjoyed the recent mushroom biogeography talk. The garden has interesting relevant information on plant strategies for wildfire-prone areas.

What a hidden gem! So many plants to look at and great learning opportunities. Great for all ages as they have a kids garden on the other side. Do the hike (take comfortable shoes)! Worth the huffing and puffing, the view up there was spectacular.

Lovely, large garden collection, with walking trails. Celebrates biodiversity and low water gardens. Great childrens garden and play area.

The SLO Botanical Garden is small and it’s not signed as well as it should be for visitors. I would’ve loved to have known what I was looking at. Wasn’t crowded during the week. Bathroom was open and stocked. The children’s garden is cute but again, would’ve been great to have more signs so kids and adults can learn.

Whenever I'm in the area, I will always stop by and enjoy the botanical garden in El Chorro Regional Park! Beautiful scenic paths through the garden and a separate, spectacular hiking trail conveniently located near the garden store. Mind the wild turkeys!

What a great place to visit! We've been to the garden a few times with my kids, have gone on a hike and the trail was easy enough for my two and a half year old as well. The place is beautiful, and the children's garden area is so fun. We can spend hours playing and exploring.

Very lovely garden and great price. It is a bit of a hike in the discovery trail so I would say make sure to wear sneakers and good bottoms (don't want chub rub)! Lol It was gorgeous though, aside from the views and plants you might spot a hawk, etc.

Lots of trails to wander and none of them are too difficult. Trees are strategically placed to provide both shade and seating areas. Restrooms are on site and the staff I spoke with were friendly and professional!

Completely different from Midwestern botanical gardens that I'm used to, but that's the point. The young woman at the registration desk was incredibly informative and seemed to love her job. We spent less than an hour here (we were not appropriately attired to take the longer trail), but it was a great introduction to the local climate and native plants.

Nature Nights - a bit underwhelming for $27. Band was good, staff nice, hope they do more creative lights and more spaces to explore. Perhaps include a drink or snack with a ticket.
