If you are in Aruba you need to set one night aside to go and have dinner at El Gaucho. Make sure you call ahead to make a reservation or you might not get to experience the delicious food and fun atmosphere. This restaurant offers high end food and drinks without the stuffy feeling of high end dining. The service is fast and responsive, you are given plenty of options for food and none of them will disappoint ( I will say if you eat red meat order it because the flavors are absolutely amazing!) The drinks menu and wine selection will keep you asking for refills and the overall experience will have you wanting to come back.

Excellent Argentinean steak house in the middle of Aruba. Great service and very good steaks. The restaurant also has a lunch menu that provides nice value for money (where for 30 dollars one gets full 3-course meal. Very nice.

The ribeye was fantastic. My wife chose the lobster and was highly impressed. The drinks were great and the service was top tier. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for high quality meat. The garlic shrimp (4) was very tasty for the appetizer. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture.

Our very first dining experience in an Argentine Restaurant. We love the festive lightings and cozy ambiance. For starters, the bread was served with 3 dipping sauces, and it was pretty good! We ordered the 1 pound Gaucho Steak, and it was perfectly cooked to correct temperature. Service was great with attentive and friendly staff. We were fortunate to have a guitarist serenade at our table. Definitely worth a second visit!

The ambiance here reminded me of a restaurant in Texas! That was a positive for me. I’d say the food would get a solid B. Flavors were there and we loved the bread and chimichurri to start. The wine options were great and so were the appetizers. What was disappointing was we ordered our steak medium rare and it all came out about medium well. It was marked medium rare so I’m not sure what happened. I never eat steak that cooked so it was quite disappointing. Nice change up for restaurants to go to on the trip, but wouldn’t rush back here.

The best pound for pound steak house in the World. Right here in Aruba! The meat brought fresh from Argentina! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. But may I recommend the Argentinian Plates 5 different pieces of meet and 3 sides from Argentina the finest, melt in your mouth meet on Earth!

Great dining experience ! The food was extremely tasty. The steaks were soft, juicy and savory, as well as the sides which were great. Service was excellent ! Our waiter Oslin gave us a great attention, was really professional and friendly. Prices are a little expensive, but the dining experience (food quality, quantity and service) is worth it.

Definitely a must try! Just the bread that they give you fresh out of the oven as you wait for your meal makes it worth the visit. I had to slow myself down because I wanted to leave space for my steak. I like my steak well. They cooked my skirt steak just right for me and it was still very juicy and tender. Service was absolutely great. We were greeted immediately, sat instantly and handed our menus all in a matter of seconds. My water never ran low, it was consistently refilled. Either our waiter or the woman who was assisting were always on point with whatever we needed. I never had to ask for anything because they always took care of it before I could even think of it. Needless to say I truly enjoyed the meal. Prices to me seemed pretty reasonable. I think it's fair to say that everything on the island is a bit pricier than you might expect. However, here you get a nice portion of skirt steak with 3 sides for about $40 USD. It was well worth it to me.

I think I had too high expectations, everybody telling me it’s the stage best steak. It was pretty good but honestly I expected a lot better. Service was very good though. Had the Gaucho steak Argentine Tenderloin. Very tender but ends were quite chewy.

The host was not very pleasant when we first walked in, and our server did not explain we had 3 sides with each entree. The service was good outside of those 2 incidents. The price may be different for non local, The local tour guide that took us there insisted that he did not pay as much for the same meal we recommend. We had rib eye steak, seafood combo with squid soup, 2 empanadas, sides of plantain, fries and corn on the cob. We paid approximately $143 while our driver insisted he didn't pay $80. The same currency. The seafood combo has 2 shrimps. Overall the steak was excellent.

To be honest hardly I would give a 5 out of 5 but El Gaucho reach all of them with no problem, the food was amazing. Many places fake how good their food is but not this place. I had a T-Bone steak which was cooked perfectly, the atmosphere was great and welcoming and the design of the restaurant came across like a very old establishment and very well preserved assuming Arubian style, pretty much love it. I gladly recommend to visit at least once.

The gaucho steak was huge and flavorful. The sauces and pickled onions served along with it just made it even better. Garlic bread was a great starter. Sangria was reasonably priced and tasty.

Ordered the Tenderloin Trio and Lobster tail add on. I requested medium rare for my beef but it arrived as medium well. I was brought another piece which turned out to be rare. At a steak restaurant/grill my expectation is that they know how to cook meat all day everyday. The lobster arrived as dry, unseasoned and overdone. I have had seafood at other restaurants that have been perfectly cooked. No reason for it. The saving grace was the appetizers (cream of broccoli soup and wedge salad) and the dessert (fried cheesecake).

A must-try when you visit Aruba. El Gaucho came highly recommended by friends who frequent Aruba, and it did not disappoint. The ambiance is fantastic, as it feels fun and laid back with live music, and the servers are attentive and welcoming. The beef and vegetable soup was full of flavor yet not too heavy, and the garlic shrimp was just spectacular. Didn't even need to peel the shrimp, it was that good. The star of the show of course was the prime porterhouse, huge, juicy, and delicious. The sauces, especially their chimichurri, were arguably just as impressive. Definitely a necessary stop in Aruba, especially if you love steak.

I recently had a very disappointing experience with the service at El Gaucho. The staff was unhelpful, inattentive, and seemed disinterested in assisting the server, Nilton. He dropped off the menu and immediately gave the table to another server. I felt discriminated against by Nilton then served several other tables after his demeanor toward our table. Francisco attempted to smooth over the discrimination. This was a return trip to this restaurant I was highly disappointed. The manager came over and explained some bogus story which made the issue worse. The food is still good however, I drove past many restaurants excited to revisit and was insulted. All I ordered was a salad. My guest ordered Lola’s which is their version of a surf and turf. Overall, the level of service was subpar, and I would not recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a pleasant and efficient dining experience. I never have written a review that is not honest.

El Gaucho is, I think, the best option for steaks in Aruba. Their food is excellently prepared exactly as you order and their steaks are tender and juicy. On our recent stop in Aruba, I had the Gaucho Steak with rice, fries, and fried plantains. My wife had the kabob with rice, potatoes, and brocoli. She loved it. I highly recommend this place for dinner or even lunch.

1st time in Aruba & we got a little lost getting here. But it was worth the hike & sweat with the sun beaming on us! We weren't huge fans of the pork, chorizo, or plaintains-but the ribs & short ribs... amazing! The steaks, too. We had aT-bone & skirt steak. The portions are big, so come with an appetite. The beef enpanadas were very flavorful. The cheese needed to be a bit more melted but delicious nevertheless. The fried fish with rice was very fresh & the batter was light & crispy. (No pic, but it was delish) The service & staff in general were great. Attentive, friendly & welcoming. Overall, I'd say 4.7 & and highly recommend!

We came here as reviews were great for their steaks. The garlic bread served together with their special sauces was delicious! We ordered a Gaucho steak in medium and it was cooked to perfection despite the thickness of the meat, charbroiled outside and tender inside. Waiter was friendly and attentive. He got us a singer guitarist to our table after we were done because I had enquired about it at the beginning. It was wonderful to listen to Spanish song sang to us at our table. We had a great time!

Great experience. Ribs were great. I tried the combo plate. Place was busy and loud but that is what celebrations are. Don't expect lean cuts of beef says so right on the menu and didn't upset me.

Loved my meal here. I had seafood(as I'm a pescatarian) and was NOT disappointed! The portion and quality of the food matches the price you pay, so good value for money! The staff were exceptional especially our server Francis and the supervisor/manager Juan Luis. Definitely worth a visit!

If you are in Aruba don't miss going to this restaurant. I first went to this restaurant 28 years ago and never forgot the best steak I had ever had. The Argentine ribeye was fantastic then and still is today. Everything we had was excellent as well as the service. Reservations recommended.

Nice classy restaurant for date night or just a nice night out with family. Food is good. When I went, they had mariachis that come to your table and sing. You can request a song and they sing and play it on their guitar. You just give them a tip when they are done. Very nice touch. Overall good experience at this restaurant.

Fantastic service. Very friendly and helpful staff. We got the Caesar salad, grouper, and salmon. The dishes each come with 3 sides so you won't be hungry leaving here. The food was decent but only the grouper was really great. The prices are also pretty high for a place like this. This has the ambiance of a more casual place yet it is priced like a fancier restaurant. I also didn't like how they include a 15% service charge on the bill and then give you tip recommendations of 15% or 20% off the total bill. Someone who doesn't catch that would end up tipping 30 to 40% which isn't right

The food is excellent cooked perfect the steaks had a great flavor. Our 30th wedding anniversary celebration was one to remember in this restaurant. They went out of their way to make us like family. From the serenading of the guitar to the celebration hearts on the table and everybody singing along to our song. Thanks to everyone in the restaurant and the staff of course ❤️

The ambience and hospitality are 5 stars. Person playing guitar, cute dinning area friendly and helpful staff. The food was good but I wasn’t wowed. I think it lacked salt and the broccoli was hard.

I hesitate to leave this review in light of the excellent meals we have had at El Gaucho over the last 20-25 years, but this place is just not what it once was. The restaurant is tired and does not feel clean, almost the feeling you get at a Disney theme restaurant that is just cranking people in and out, day after day, year after year. The Gaucho Steak is still the only reason to come (and the only reason for the second star), and the highlight of any visit, but it doesn’t make up for the less appealing aspects. At some point it just became accepted that if you wanted steak on Aruba, you went to El Gaucho, and for many years it was the highlight of a trip to the island, not anymore. We went this week and the meal and experience confirmed we will never be back. We had a wedge salad that was the worst I’d ever had, anywhere. A quarter of a head of lettuce with bad dressing and tiny (tiny) bits of bacon, nuts, tomato and blue cheese lining the rim of the sad plate. The sides they serve with the steak are basically cafeteria food, at fine dining prices. The noise level in the main dining room is deafening, not even considering the wandering guitar player, who is very nice. Again, I really hate to leave this review after El Gaucho being such a highlight and favorite for so long - but we won’t be back and our last visit was the confirmation of a decline that has been happening for the last several years. The upstairs seating area was closed but there was a decent crowd in the main room, so they are still getting by on past reputation and lingering word of mouth, but with a number of much more interesting (and less remote) dining options on the island, it feels like this might not be the case for much longer. Sad to see. Sad to write.

El Gaucho was fantastic!!! Make sure you go! Highly recommended. I got the The Gaucho Steak cooked medium. The steak had the best flavor because it was cooked over an open flame. On the side was steak sauce, chimichurri, and sweet red pickled onions, but this steak is so good that you don't need it. I also got the potatoes, corn on the cob, and carrots and broccoli. My fiancé doesn't eat red meat, and she got the salmon, and she said that it was delicious and she add a Caesar salad.

  • 3/5 Theodore P. 1 year ago on Google
The dinner was so so, certain items were good, other items not. I went with the Argentinian shish kabob. I could have grilled a better, tastier, shish kabob on my home grill. Value for the money spent comes up well short in the taste of the dinner. My wife enjoyed her grilled salmon. Just curious, why is it so dark inside restaurant? We had to read the menu by flashlight. The ambiance felt a little gloomy.

  • 3/5 Roddy G. 1 year ago on Google
I love steak, it’s the one thing I look forward to when going to most restaurants and I have had my fair share of good quality and expensive steaks so I have to say the Gaucho special did not disappoint, a well seared outside with a flavorful and juicy taste and it is a large cut. Now as far as everything else I tried (a few sides and piece of my girlfriends fish) it was average and so out of the few restaurants we visited while in Aruba this was the least memorable.

  • 5/5 Iulia Alexandra M. 7 months ago on Google
What a brilliant experience my husband and I had! A big bravo to the team at El Gaucho. We did not expect much of this place as for some reason, it’s not highly overrated, but believe me, it should be! Food, service, ambience, drinks.. everything is spot on! I had lobster tail and tenderloin, both delicious, although the side potato was a bit small but more than enough! Our server was outstanding, I will definitely be back next time I visit Aruba ❤️

INCREDIBLE place to eat authentic Argentinian food - the steaks were amazing, and the ambiance was perfect. Dim, beautifully decorated, and a live guitarist / singer who was really talented! Absolutely delicious. Service was outstanding. Be aware the menu prices, despite being in Aruba, are in US dollar. Not sure why USD is used but there is not disclaimer of such. You'll spend about $100 USD for two to eat. Just be aware it's pricey but delicious.

Eating is an experience and this place knows how to make customers have a great one. The food is absolutely delicious (I could not stop eating) and the waiters are the most attentive and polite people ever (although most people in Aruba are super nice). Let me start by saying that I am a big steak person and in my home of New York I have visited all the top steakhouses. With that being said this place had one of the best porterhouses I have ever had. Itwas by far amazing. To that cow who gave it’s life selflessly to be enjoyed I assure you gauchos did right by you :) Also a note on the service: They were so amazing that I for a second thought they mistook me for a celebrity. That’s how amazingly great they are at treating their customers.
