There are goods things to say about this restaurant and then, unfortunately, some bad things to say as well. First, the restaurant is situated on the beach which gives very nice views of the ocean, especially the sunsets. Lastly, the staff is courteous and pleasant with great customer service. Onto the bad: the food. I had ordered the Peruvian beef, chicken and pork skewer that was surprisingly dry and the goat cheeses appeared to be microwaved because most that I experienced and the way it should be eaten is that the outer crust is crispy and the host is exquisite to the taste. This one was moist on the outer shell and the goat cheese though it tasted like goat cheese didn’t have that punch that I’m use to. Everyone has their different opinion about food preparation, I will just leave my comment as is. Next, the humidity and heat will definitely change how you prepare yourself to eat as it became unbearable. We arrived at 6pm and left around 6:35pm and was so hot that my shirt was sticking to me and I’m not that type of guy who sweats at all. So pick your poison wisely on when you are wanting to come here. Lastly, the flies are horrendous and worse than any other outside restaurant that we visited on this island. They are relentless and makes it difficult to at least enjoy your meal while eating here. This is our experience as others may experience it completely different. I hope this review give some descent insight and frighten others from going, you would have to experience it for yourself.

There are two Ricardos; one (the original) on the beach at Casa del Mar Hotel, and this one, actually called Ricardo's Smokehouse located in the Renaissance Marketplace. The food here is great and service friendly. The menu has an ample variety to suit a wide range of tastes. Really enjoyed the evening; great food at payable prices, friendly service and a great atmosphere. Worth repeating

Ricardo's Restaurant & Bar: Service Shines, Food Needs Shine More Ricardo's Restaurant & Bar in the Renaissance impressed with its thoughtful layout, clean environment, and incredibly attentive staff. They were friendly, helpful, and made the dining experience comfortable and convenient. However, the food unfortunately didn't quite match the service excellence. Some dishes like the red snapper were tasty, but others like the Picanha (which didn't resemble the expected cut), Argentinian skewer (lacking texture), and overcooked chicken fell short. The "smoke" and flame options felt more like gimmicks and didn't add much to the flavor. Additionally, the moderately expensive menu may not justify the food quality for some. Mislabeled gluten-free options and limited staff knowledge on dietary needs also require improvement. Ricardo's has the potential to be a true gem with its charming atmosphere and dedicated staff. However, focusing on improving food quality and ensuring accurate menu labeling and informed staff on dietary needs would significantly elevate the overall dining experience.

We ate at the pool bar and also the restaurant. Both were good and tasty! At the bar, I had a grouper sandwich which was really good. Highly recommended it. The bar also has happy hour 3 times a day where drinks are half price. Nice! The actual restaurant is nicely decorated and right on the beach. If you want to watch sunset from your table look up what time the sun sets. For us, it was 6:30, so we ate early. I had chicken parmesan as well as a bowl of seafood soup and dinner calamari. It was all a nice size and full of flavor. Service was good, portion sizes were on the big side. Overall, yes.... Loved both bar and restaurant. Give it a try!

The atmosphere of this place is lovely and chill. We got our food relatively fast and the prices are good. But the best part here was the service. The staff was super kind and attentive and always helping out with a smile. Would definitely be coming back. Especially excited about their all you can eat grouper option!

Nice sea view restaurant. But I wouldn’t go back. My Tuna steak came and the plate look impressed me. But the taste was only sauce and sesame, the tuna was almost raw and cold inside. I mean really cold inside, so it went back to the kitchen and was fried again. That didn’t make it any better. The pepper steak was ok. The value for money is not good. We paid $107 for 2 cokes, calamaris starter and 2 plates. This is what seems to be normal on Aruba.

Absolutely loved our experience in Ricardo's restaurant—this place is a gem! The food was incredibly delicious, cooked to perfection with amazing flavors. The cocktails? Just the right mix, perfectly balanced with the ideal amount of alcohol. Plus, the staff are wonderfully kind and attentive, making sure every guest feels cared for. It's definitely a must-visit spot. You're guaranteed to have a fantastic time there—I'm sure of it!

This place deserves five stars due to the service, friendly staff, great food, and incredible views. I wanted to make it back during the day considering the views at night were so incredible, but we weren’t able to. We went fairly late in the day, around 9pm and there was no wait. Our waiter was funny, quick, and always made sure we had everything we needed. The portions were big and my seafood linguini included A LOT of seafood. Highly recommend visiting!

Lunch at Ricardo's is pretty standard Aruba beach fare. The grouper sandwich is a standout. Generally, the food and menu are a notch above neighboring beach restaurant Matthew's, but the seated vibe isn't as fun. Haven't tried the pricier dinner menu at Ricardo's, but the option to eat on the beach under lanterns looks especially nice. Not sure I'd enjoy fine dining at a restaurant known for stale tortilla chips, but I hear the real cooking starts after sundown. During the daylight hours, Ricardo's has a lot of trouble following COVID protocols. Inside the restaurant, tables are spaced adequately but masks are disregarded. ("Don't worry, we're outside" said our waiter from 2 feet away.) But for the real shock, you must observe the bar at Ricardo's from afar, as Steve Erwin might. Large clusters of unmasked guests dance and roam freely to the sounds of karaoke DJs, encouraged by bartenders who seem to think their masks are decorative moustaches rather than protective equipment. I've seen staff and guests hug, groups of all ages congregating and mixing like a tragic game of pandemic speed dating. In short, it's a place where the rules do not apply.

As a wedding planner in Aruba (Bella Aruba), I have to say hats off to this amazing restaurant located on Eagle beach. The staff and owners are amazing and deliver delicious entrees and great service. The location is spot on for weddings, very clean beach & surroundings and love the crashing waves. This is not my first wedding at this location and not my last. Great for lunch and dinner too. So much Italian entrees to choose from.

We have been an annual fan of Ricardo’s. They just moved locations and even though we miss the old Ricardo location we still had an amazing time. Food was excellent and so were the drinks.

Went to Ricardo’s at the Renaissance Plaza for lunch and we were underwhelmed. My wife and I shared a grilled seafood platter, while my daughter tried the lunch menu item - 3 pulled pork tacos. We also had two escargot appetizers. The escargot were pretty good but the lunch platter for two, for $65, could barely have fed one person. The drinks during happy hour were strong and refreshing, so there was one small plus. Pulled pork was almost boiled, and did not resemble any pulled pork I have ever tried before. No sauce on it, no spices, no flavor. At the end of the meal, the server ended up giving us the wrong bill and blaming us for it, telling us we made a mistake after we paid. When we realized her mistake and pointed out that she gave us the wrong bill, she rolled her eyes and walked away. Overall, mediocre food, poor service,$155 for a lunch that was worth about $50. We will not be going back there during our trip.

We would go back just for the Caesar salad and bread. Both were phenomenal. The drinks and steaks were good. The server was very good and friendly. Our only complaint would be that the Mac and cheese was pretty obviously something along the lines of a box of Kraft. It was well cooked just not what you expect with a nice steak dinner.

Very unpleasant experience last night at this restaurant. As owners at ABC for 27 years we have been eating at Ricardos since it opened with Ricardo owning and managing it. Now it seems if you make a reservation with a request for seating on the deck and it is confirmed several days in advance, you arrive on time you still are not guaranteed what you were promised. We arrived a party of four Monday night and were told unfortunately that there were no tables available on the deck. I explained that we made this reservation with this request days in advance and the request was confirmed. Made no difference. I told the new owner that this was the last time we will be eating at this restaurant. Beware when you make a reservation at Ricardos now you may not get what you have I been promised.

Important! Don't come here all the way from palm beach. Manchebo is far inferior and the area is desolate. If you are already here then it is your best choice though. Because not much else around. We took a trip then saw the restaurant and didn't sit down. It was small and dark. No entertainment on a Friday night. Advertising for this place fooled me into coming. It is well publicised. Stick to palm beach if you are already there.

The best beach view restaurant in the area - see included picture! The food was great too, and we happened to go during happy hour so they doubled all our drinks for free! We particularly enjoyed the Ricardo's Tacos, which were delicious. This place also serves several types of cake, which are worth saving room for! We'll have to come back for desert another time...

Came here two times, great location right on the beach. Messed up my husbands order gave to another table. When his omelet came it was runny we sent it back. Bloody Mary was really good. Came back our last day to give another chance.. they messed up my husbands drink order. People were nice and apologetic and the food and price was good. Recommend it!

Ricardo's Restaurant located in Eagle beach is pretty decent for lunch or dinner. Highly talked off restaurant. Make reservation for dinner. Nice ambience. There was an engagement function and it was Lively with horse back riding and music/horse dance to the music etc. Food and drinks were fine. Choice was limited for a vegetarian. Overall for sunset and the back area is pretty cool. Service was pretty good

Ricardo’s is so good. The ambiance is serene and calming with the beach next to you and the waiters being so on point. We had the lamb and the surf & turf and it was phenomenal. Juicy, tender, and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were also so good. We had to get a second serving of just that. Also, our waiter, Colynary, was wonderful. He took care of us and made our experience there even more special. Definitely will be coming back here on our next visit!

This place is insane. The views are stunning. The food is SO SO SO good AND affordable. They have 2 for 1 drinks happy hour and they’re $10-$15, so like $5-8 per cocktail. We got the lasagna for lunch and I cannot recommend it enough.

The place is beautiful and good taste, but the service was awful... it was on mother's day and we were a group of 13, it took an hour or more to get our food.. but it was a great experience.

We went there for a late breakfast, no wait in an almost empty outdoor area, compared to other nearby restaurants that were relatively full. Perhaps that was a sign lol. First the good: food was pretty solid. The veggie panini and Aruba breakfast were fine and came in no time. However two things left a sour taste in an otherwise unremarkable experience that I wouldn't have bothered to leave a review. First, the fresh OJ in a normal sized glass was $7 each. Now I know there's such a thing as Island prices but that is still pretty exorbitant especially compared to the food menu. The other thing which was annoying was they automatically add a 15% service charge and still ask if "do you want to leave a tip" when running my card. I don't know if this is standard procedure but for any manager reading this, it's a horrible practice and creates an awkward interaction between the server and customer. In summary, I spent about $50 for a light breakfast for 2 which didn't even include coffee. The restaurant should do better given its prime location as the first restaurant next to the Renaissance; just look at your neighbors with full tables and happy customers.

First night and didn't make any reservations yet. I chose this spot randomly and it worked out. Right on the beach inside a resort. Food was good, but nothing insane. The drinks were the real star of the show here.

Overall, it was a great experience. Good food, which was reasonably priced, great service, and the view of the ocean from our table was great. Only suggestion would be that they consider lowering the wooden railing by 6 inches or raising the tables a bit so that the decking was not eye level blocking the great ocean front view. Overall 4.8 stars.

The coconut pineapple shrimp are my wife's absolute favorite. The new smoked ribeye was fantastic. They delivered it to our table with a cover which held the smoke in and the smell was amazing. The wait staff was super attentive. Our calamari appetizer as well as the pineapple upside down cake dessert we're also excellent. We were a little concerned about the new location and although you can't look at the beach and watch the sunset it is a very nice location with very comfortable outside chairs and the new food on the menu was very good. We will be returning.

Well we ordered the breakfast for 2 which included what you can see below in the picture, it also includes a coffee or tea. I’m disappointed because of the service. I don’t know if they just didn’t give us good service because we were locals? But our waiter didn’t check up on us neither gave us refill on our drinks. The food was ok, for the price I’d rather recommend the Moomba beach buffet which is muchhhh better for around the same price. Reading all those good reviews I was expecting more from this place so I’m disappointed.

ROACHES!! Completely disappointed and grossed out. We came to this restaurant after reading many good reviews. The service was not great to say the least. My boyfriend ordered a steak and asked for it medium-rare, and it came out RAW with sauce poured over the top. And I’m not talking rare, it was nearly uncooked. The waiter looked shocked when he saw the piece of meat cut into. They took it in the back and cooked it some more. After we finished eating, my boyfriend happened to look over at the slop sink that’s in the restaurant (weird thing to have out) and there were two giant COCKROACHES on the floor and the wall. I asked to see the owner who came and said, “it’s Aruba, we’re on the beach and there’s roaches. Thanks for telling me I’ll have to call pest control tomorrow.” I had to ask to have the bill adjusted and she took off the steak from the bill. She was not friendly and definitely not sorry about what we experienced. I would never recommend or go back.

Had a wonderful table on the deck with a perfect sunset view which made the entire experience that much better. We had a late lunch and we weren't that hungry so we opted to skip the appetizer. I decided on the charcoal grilled beef kebabs with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. It was cooked perfectly and delicious with enough to take some leftovers home. My dining companion chose the chicken parmesan and could not stop saying how good it was. Service was adequate. Dinners are not served by the person who takes the order and they did attempt to serve us someone else's meal. For dessert we opted for a piece of key lime pie to share. We are not sure what we actually got, maybe lemon with a cream type topping. With no waitperson in sight we decided to just eat it. Aside from that, great evening and great meal with a view. We hope to return next year.
