Although the food, service and atmosphere were all 5 stars, the hostest, Carolina, was awful and really set the night off on the wrong foot. I don't know if she was having a bad night or just a miserable witch, but she should not be anywhere near the front of house. We arrived and didn't feel welcomed, in any way, by her demeanor. My beautiful girlfriend made reservations 3 months ago, so we could get the perfect table. Carolina seemed to be put off, but walked us over to our table, but the chair's seemed a little dirty. As a solution, she want to put us at a table that was far less romantic than the one my girlfriend reserved. When Mercedes offered to clean the chair's herself, that's when Carolina decided to find us a more suitable table. It's ashame that such a wonderful place had such and awful hostest, because the rest of the evening was fantastic. Largely in part to our wonderful server, Jennifer. She turned the entire night around. The food, drinks and service were all top notch. I highly recommend they retrain Carolina, or move her to back of house, because she has a serious issue expressing a welcoming vibe. My girlfriend expressed her displeasure to Carolina as we were leaving and instead of expressing some form of apology she followed us out to the taxi and continued to argue. I hate to focus on the negative, because the rest of experience was so spectacular, but Carolina is a real negative to an otherwise amazing night.

I have visited this place twice. The first time was great. The hot stone dishes came out sizzling hot. The steak and lobster on the hot stone was cooked to perfection. The stone was hot enough where we can flip the steak for an even sear. The Keesha Yeena was hot and the cheese was melted to perfection. The second time was not so great. All our food came out room temperature. The dishes have been sitting out to a point it cooled down. The cheese on the keesha yeena has solidified and dish has cooled down to a point it was room temperature. The truffle pepperoni was cut too thick. The steaks on the hot stone was only seared on one side. When the dish arrived, The hot stone itself was not hot enough and was cooled down to the point where we could not get a sear on the other side of the steak. The shrimp hot stone wasn’t even hot. The West Indies shrimp dish was cold. There was a thin layer of filament from the curry that has cooled down and sat for too long. West Indies curry/sauce was pretty bland dish itself. All dishes seemed to have been sitting in the kitchen for too long before reaching our table. They seem to have quality control issue when the restaurant is busy. Which is disappointing since I was hosting guests for their first time on the island and this was their first meal since landing that day.

Expensive but best lamb chops ever .. on a stone so they keep cooking.. Amazing flavor. Fish was good... But would not pass up the lamb chops. Pumpkin cheesecake with rum sauce.. Awesome. Beautiful setting. Flying ants were annoying but tolerable. Very classy and beautiful. Did I mention the lamb chops?

Looking for a romantic restaurant in Aruba? This is your place. Open air restaurant with perfect lights and tables surrounding a swimming pool. Excellent food with great drinks and service. Everything was very tasty and served smoothly. We enjoyed the Roti, escargots and the fresh prawns in various dishes. Leave a spot for desserts - Pan Bollo was delicious.

Beautiful place with great food. We had tuna tartar and stone grill made dishes - all tasted exceptionally well. Make sure to visit the restaurant building inside to learn more about the island’s heritage.

You are paying for the atmosphere here! Lovely place to have dinner. Food is a bit on the expensive side. We shared some great appetizers, cocktails, and main dishes. We shared the lamb chops served on a hot stone. Very tasty! Service could have been better for the prices we we're paying

Could very likely be the best meal I've had during my time here in Aruba. My wife and I are celebrating our honeymoon and we couldn't ask for a better night. The atmosphere was romantic and the selection was beautiful. I had the Cazuela and it was one of the best curries I've ever ordered.

This was our first time to Aruba and one of our friends recommended this place. We cannot say enough about it. From the entrance to the inside of the restaurant, the atmosphere and service were excellent. I would give it 10 stars if given the option. We had the blue cheese shrimp as an appetizer which was delicious. My husband had the Halibut, espresso, and NY Cheesecake while I had the Neptune which comes on a hot sizzling plate and consists of lobster, shrimp, and Mahi Mahi. Mahi Mahi was a first time for me and would eat it again. For dessert, I had the Crème Brule Chocolate Crème which topped off the evening. The atmosphere in the little out cove was beautiful as it includes a little pond. Very well done. Highly recommend. I asked what happens when it rains and they informed me that they provide umbrellas. This is outside dining as most of the places in Aruba are. Reservations are a must!

Stone cooking is an innovative technique used here. For meats it's awesome and can be fun. Just slice your meat and the heat from the stone will continue to cook it to your liking. For fish, you run the risk of overcooking it. Take the fish off promptly and place on dish supplied to you. Shrimp need a minute on stone because they are placed raw on it. Big wine list, beers and cocktails are available. Preto Bollo ice cream is scrumptious.

Such an awesome setting and friendly staff. Order the "Mermaid " If you like wahoo you will not be disappointed

Beautiful setting off the beaten path. Food and service were both very good. The Caribbean Shrimp was very tasty. The lamb and the 'neptune' are both served on their hot stones. Which means you finish cooking your meal at the table. Both were tasty but a little bland, but to be fair, I think that is more indicative of Aruban cuisine than a failing of the kitchen. I definitely recommend.

Good: Beautiful ambience in a garden / pool setting. We really enjoyed the creative dishes served on sizzling hot stones! Bad: Service was painfully slow, especially the amount of time it took to receive our entrees. It seems like this restaurant didn’t necessarily have specific table assignments for servers; while this may seem good in practice, it resulted in excessive time for someone to check on us. Finally, seating consists of plastic lawn chairs covered in white sheets, and mine was dirty. I wonder how often they are laundered or changed.

Wide selection of perfectly prepared food. Great service. Great atmosphere including an historic Dutch home situated inside restaurant grounds. Plus a banyon tree!

Not so great a seafood place. Don’t eat red meat but seems to be more of a place for meat. The grouper was over cooked and may not have been that good a piece. The shrimp cocktail sauce was catchup. We had to ask for horseradish. Don’t go here for seafood. Many other better places.

Absolutely amazing food. Quality and quantity was what you expect from this high caliber restaurant. I had the pork chop which was the best I've had in my life. I'll have a difficult time ordering anything else on a return visit.

Great food. Excellent Service. Surf and turf on hot stone was excellent. Note that it comes out not fully cooked and you can cook to your liking on hot stone. The pork chop was in the top 10 I have had and best outside of United States.

Wow what a great dining experience. A hidden Jem this was our first time dining here and it was exceptional. The restaurant is a beautiful setting as you can see how much the owners care about the property and creating a memorable evening. The quality and presentation of the food was great and service staff attentive. We were invited to tour the grounds with Angelo and it was something we will never forget. It is so good to see people who truly care that their patrons enjoy every moment of their evening. WE have recommended this restaurant to so many people as it is a true 5 star experience.

My boyfriend and I spent one evening at Papamiento restaurant during our vacation on Aruba and we loved it - probably our #1 dinner spot on the island. The staff was SO nice (shout-out to Malcolm, you're a great waiter and definitely contributed to the experience!) and so was the food. We were especially blown away by the pumpkin-speculatius-cheesecake (see picture). They also have an impressive wine cellar and we discovered a super-tasty rosé from the Provence. The location (with a pool) is also outstanding, tucked away in a backyard but once you enter you're blown away. Loved it and would come back whenever traveling to Aruba again <3 PS: We also want to emphasize that you did an above-average job to ensure your guests feel safe despite the Covid-19 pandemic! Impressed by this inland outside restaurant dining by a colorful pool. Food is top notch, same with service, and wine list even better. The cigar lounge is icing on the cake. Pro tip; ask for a quick tour of the wine cellar 😉

Service was great…selection of foods were amazing…ambiance completely unique as they have 100% outdoor seating. Food tasted great. Definitely a repeat visit type of place.

Fabulous ambiance! You are seated right around the pool and the setting is incredible. Ceviche was great. I got the surf and turf and it came on a hot stone which required me to cook it on the stone as it comes out medium rare - was not a fan. But other than that it was great vibes, I would just plan on ordering smarter next time.

Enchanted setting in dreamlike garden with white tablecloths, chair covers & fairy lights. Attentive and non-intrusive service. Menu focuses on what's good & their kitchen's expertise. Bonus is house filled with antiques. Merits repeat visits as it exceeds the hype.

Atmosphere if the star. We enjoyed the bread and escargot. The dinner entrees were just ok. Nothing special steak was lacking any flavor and we a bit tough.

Romantic outdoor dining in a garden. Great for couples. Food choices were outstanding (try anything on their sizzle stones). Service was impeccable.

Must go spot with great tasting appetizers and entrees. Both seafood and meats are tasty and high quality. It’s an outdoor restaurant. Seems to be in the middle of nowhere, residential area. But worthwhile. I would go again. Whether you go with Tbone or tender filet or with the swordfish, you won’t go wrong. I’d stay away from the Indian inspired dish, but not because it’s not good, but there are better tasting dishes. Desserts and drinks were also good. Get the ceviche. Espresso is one of the better ones I had on the island. I would go here again.

Everything in this restaurant is perfect. From the food, the ambiance, the cigar room to the wine cellar, everything has been meticulously planned. Don’t miss this place if you’re ever in Aruba.

Beautiful place.. food excellent, service top notch, priced within reach for a fancy restaurant they are all pretty much the same price range for all the fancy restaurants in Aruba.. we took our 3 kids 5,7 ages they do have a smal kids menu...

Very nice place, food was delicious , bathrooms were very nice and clean. Tables were very nicely decorated. Lots of space and the waiters were very nice, the only thing was the hostess Carolina was a bit rude but it’s alright we got over it. So over all nice restaurant.

Had a wonderful meal here with my Girlfriend. The staff was one of the best I've ever scene. Never an empty glass and never waiting for anything. Service is quick. The atmosphere is super nice. The outdoor seating is perfect for the evening. The cigar room and wine cellar are very nice as well. If you're in Aruba, don't deny yourself of this place.

Once again another outstanding meal at this 137 year old gem. From our appetizers of Escargot to Shrimp Scampi to put main entrees of Lamb Chops and Barracuda with grilled Shrimp. Everything was perfect! Service exceptional and the atmosphere was over the top.

This was highly recommended. We ordered drinks which where good. No olives in a dirty martini which was weird. Capriana drink was good. Ordered Caprese appetizer and pumpkin soup. The caprese had raw under ripe tomatoes and a bland balsamic. The pumpkin soup was burnt. We chose not to continue with ordering our entree and decided to leave. Atmosphere was fantastic. And the house is beautiful. But the food is very underwhelming for the price point and atmosphere. Hope the adjust accordingly.

Was very disappointed. First, hostess said she couldn't find my reservation, then I found it after looking at her book. Then she proceeded to tell me that my non reservation was for an hour earlier which it was, however my hotel concierge had called to change it. I was right in front of the concierge when she called the restaurant and I heard the conversation. The hostess asked us to dine inside, which is not something I was willing to do as the ambiance is the outdoor dining. She proceeded to tell me to wait for 30 minutes. Not willing to do that either, as none of this was my fault and I had already invested in a taxi. Hostess proceeded with a "doing me a favor" attitude, and sat us at an outdoor table. Food and service was mediocre at best. We topped off the evening having to wait 20 minutes for a taxi. This restaurant not worth the hype.

Papiamento is a must visit! The atmosphere is outstanding, the service on point, and the food is out of this world!

The restaurant was nice and the food is good with variety of familar choices as well as local options to try. The food quality was good.solid 4 stars. The only issue we has is that they lost our inutial reservation or booked it to the wrong date. However they were able to accommodate us. Hostess was trying to give us a hard time when we requested to change the table citing last minute reservation, but quickly reconsidered. The advice is when booking in advance, to ask them read you back the date, time and day of the week of your reservation.

A little pricey but worth every penny. Champagne Casserole is amazing. This is also a very romantic place.

Idea - great! Execution - a solid 3. Super touristy replica- like vibe of Vegas. American food and classic beach inspired drinks (not cocktails, just drinks). Nice outdoors. One time deal.

Food was tremendous and the staff is very friendly, jolly and very helpfull. The ambience was amazing. The decor is to die for. Overall I love the restaurant itself and also the staff of course. I would definitely go back.

Food was good and atmosphere was nice. Just really disappointed with the customer service. Started off great but quickly went downhill from there. Never really knew who our server was as so many people came to our table. It was a different person that came to our table each time. (One person took drink orders, another person dropped off the drinks, another completely different person took food orders, a different person brought appetizers, some other person brought main course etc.). You think that would be a good thing but I think we ended up getting lost in the mix because there were so many different servers. After all those people, no one came and checked on us, and took forever to clear our plates and bring a dessert menu or the check when it was obvious we were done eating. When you’re paying those high prices to dine I expect exceptional service to go along with the price. Unfortunately Papiamento missed the mark. The food was actually quite tasty though so I would consider giving it another go.

Papiamento is our go to restaurant every year for our last night on the island. Beautiful setting, great food and service. I want to share a recent experience that we had there. We inadvertently left our credit card there on the last night of vacation and didn’t realize it until we were in the airport. When we finally contacted the restaurant from the states, they confirmed they had our credit card in their safe. Fortunately we had friends on the island that were able to pick up our card for us. A big shout out to this restaurant for their honesty and customer service.

So far the best service on island. Food was very good but not what you get in the states but still very good. Their service was the best we have found on the island so far from all the restaurants. I would highly recommend going here.

An absolute must visit during your stay in Aruba. Such a wonderful menu with an abundance of choices. I have gone out of my comfort zone with my choices and never been disappointed. Both food and service is five star. I recommend reservations and if it just the two of you request to be seated alongside the pool when you call.

We followed a local's recommendation to try this restaurant.The hostess was so friendly and quickly got us seated.  The outdoor tables are placed around the pool that take the center stage. The food was tasty but the ambiance was definitely the best part of the experience.

A luxurious al fresco dining experience. The menu is extensive which leads to some indecision before ordering, but it is impossible to pick something that is not excellent. Our party of six had an excellent meal and drinks. The sangria was noted as very generous, very delicious and perfect for the atmosphere.

I just had a horrible experience with this restaurant. I called and made a reservation for my family at 830 pm tonight and I had told them this is our last night in Aruba so we are hoping to have a nice seat. They booked the reservation but when we arrived the lady said our name is not there at all and they are fully booked so can’t accommodate us. I insisted that I had called and made a reservation and she should double check. After making us wait 10 minutes the lady found our name and then said they only have room inside. I told her we asked for a table outside at which point she said we should wait. We waited another ten minutes and finally gave up and left. My children were very disappointed and we walked out upset to go find another restaurant without reservations. I would think twice before booking a special night at this restaurant.

Great restaurant...Outstanding food, great service

We were here for a large event, and the service and food was incredible. If we ever come back to Aruba, we'll definitely come by again for a more intimate inside dining experience.

An intimate setting that is as warm as it is unique. Unbelievably developed flavors in a vast array of ingredients.

The ambience (see picture) and service were amazing. However I am giving it 4 stars because the food wasn't that great. We had the blue cheese shrimp app and it was a bit cold. My wife got the grouper with scallops and shrimp and it lacked flavor. My "casuela" dish was alright.
