Recently vacationed in Aruba for 10 days so we tried almost every restaurant that people recommended to us. We were told by a few people that it was one of the best, if not the best restaurant on the island. So we went on the night of my birthday and was extremely disappointed. We get there and the first lady was nice but she took us out side which was nice. She said we would wait a few minutes and once someone got up we would be seated. They ended up just putting us at this big round table outside in the back of the restaurant. The second lady that told us to sit asked if we wanted bottled watered we said yes. She did not ask us what type or if we wanted sparkling. After 8 mins of waiting for a server to come or even a menu. A server walked passed us 3 or 4 times to help out the two tables across from us. When their check was presented, I also heard them ask if they needed a taxi. Which I noticed a few of the other restaurants did as well. My boyfriend started to get upset because he was already questioning why the lady didn't take us to the table originally in the inside. I being a server in my past tried to justify saying maybe we weren't in her section. 2-3 minutes later the second lady who seated us walked by and said "No, water?" and quickly walked off. The server we had seen past a few times came to the table and introduced herself and was about to open the water. It was sparkling and we actually wanted still. We stopped her before she opened it and she went and got the other bottle. 2-3 mins later the second lady comes back with the water and ask us if we are ready to order. I ordered the Lobster bisque to start off with and my boyfriend order the ceviche. The lobster bisque tasted like it was scorched. I did not return it just placed it to the side. the second lady came back and asked how everything was. We said, "Okay". She asked if I liked the soup and I let her know it had a weird after taste as if it was scorched but that I was okay. She took it back with her and later came back to tell me that she checked with the chief and it wasn't burnt and if I wanted something else. I thought it was actually pretty rude and she seemed to have an attitude about it. I tired to be nice about it but it was burnt and I've cooked enough and ate out enough to know what burnt soup taste like. I personally also would have never said that to a guest as a server but that maybe just me. In between that time, they had brought out an appetizer of their own which was a seafood soup and I forget what it was paired with. The soup was so good, my boyfriend decided to order a bowl to go. The second lady said they do not have to go containers for soup and when he asked for it for the table she still acted like she didn't want to bring it. Even after coming back a second time to let us know our food was coming and was he sure he wanted the soup. We also ordered a bottle of wine. There were plenty of times that are water and wine glasses were low and actually empty and no one to refill. To the point when we were done with our meal, the second waitress now so the 3 rd person serving us asked if we waited to take the rest of our bottle home. Why did we even have wine left and empty glasses? because the service was horrible. For The prices of the food the service should have been amazing. which really unfortunately make us think it was because we were black. This is the only time and place on the entire island we felt uncomfortable. Those two tables across from us had the same servers and where two old white couples. I was dressed elegantly and my boyfriend in a collared button up. We were polite and respectful and received very disappointing service. We were offered dessert or a taxi. This was also the first place on the island where everywhere that worked there looked very pail and untanned, which to me was kind of odd. It was my 30th and I am happy the rest of the trip and island treated us right. Food was good but honestly over priced, and small portions.

Wilhelmina is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Aruba. From the atmosphere, to the service and amazing food. This restaurant checks every box. Their attention to detail is beyond compare. Each dish is so interesting and delicious. I had the Indonesian pork and it just fell apart when I touched it with my fork. Such depth of flavor that just pops with every bite. You have got to give this place a try. Not overly expensive in comparison to other popular, higher end restaurants and honestly I could do without the gimmicks. Eating with my feet in water does not appeal to me. Our servers were Daisy and Darling and they were just so wonderful and attentive. Can’t wait to come back!!! Pictures do not do justice, but I did include a few.

An Aruban gem! We all had a wonderful meal here. I particularly enjoyed the home made pasta. Food, cocktails, and desserts were all excellent. This was our first entry into the local food scene and it really set a great tone. First rate outdoor space. Friendly staff to top it all off.

You will hear over and over again that Wilhelmina is one of the best restaurants in Aruba, and that is completely true. Right away with the amuse you are blown away. I highly recommend the short rib ravioli that is an appetizer, I’ve never had anything like it. The Gamberetti pasta is sooo good, it’s a perfect shrimp scampi. Any dessert is going to be delicious. You’ll love the courtyard ambiance and the service is impeccable. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Absolutely best restaurant I have been to having visited Aruba many times. Ambiance is beautiful. Service was amazing and food outstanding. Shrimp Ravioli appetizer and Short Ribs entree were both outstanding. My wife’s crevice and sea bass were also amazing. Creme Brulee and cappachino capped off a meal I’m out of superlative words to describe.

5 stars hands down! We didn’t have a reservation, but they fitted us in and I’m thankful. This restaurant is outdoor in a beautiful tree oasis. The service is absolutely amazing. A head server and an assistant assigned to each table. Our appetizer was ceviche. We had the two catch of the days and were highly impressed. The desert was pure chocolate and lovely. The drinks were well made as well. Overall a peaceful, but beautiful dinner.

Delicious restaurant! This restaurant is hands down our favourite restaurant in Aruba. The menu is sophisticated, delicious, with layers of flavours. The staff is very friendly and professional. The restaurant is very clean. We went twice for supper with the family while on our 1 week vacation since it was so good. I highly recommend it. However, it is on the pricier side, it is very worth it. The atmosphere is romantic, a bit dark with a candle in the middle of the table. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious, no exceptions! In the photos, you will see that we got a complimentary starter of celery root soup (in the shot glass) and fried fish fritters, as well as bread with homemade bell pepper butter. We ordered as appetizers on our two trips to the restaurant: the ceviche, the Wilhelmina ravioli and the funghi risotto. They were all phenomenal. For mains we ordered: The catch of the day, the pork, the braised short ribs, the lady steak (filet mignon), the gamberetti pasta, and the truffle pasta (all homemade pasta and the meat meals came with potato gratin). For dessert, we had the lemon tart, cheesecake, Dame Blanche and the chocolate ganache cake. The dishes are presented beautifully and are absolutely to die for!

Not only one the best dinner I’ve ever had in aruba, but one of the best dinners I’ve ever had! From the bread to the appetizer to the main course, drinks and everything in between, absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere is romantic, the service was exceptional and the food is out of this world! I can’t wait to return! 10/10

We walked into Wilhelmina without a reservation tonight and it was absolutely wonderful. The service was top notch and the food was delightful. The ambiance of the outdoor seating is perfect for a peaceful evening and the indoors provides a beautiful conservatory feel. All of the wait staff were attentive and polite, making for a memorable night. This is our 5th trip to Aruba and this ranks at the top of our list and we will definitely be back. Bravo!

Our dining experience at Wilhelmina Restaurant in Aruba was nothing short of extraordinary. We commenced with the Ceviche "Carte Blanche style," a delightful blend of raw fish marinated in citrus juices, peppers, red onion, ginger, and cilantro—a longstanding favorite at Carte Blanche for over 12 years. The Veggie Escabeche was a vibrant Mexican-style pickled assortment, accompanied by smoked pumpkin dressing and cassava chips. For our main course, the Kandratiki & Chorizo impressed with pan-seared Surinamese "seabass" featuring a saffron and crispy chorizo crust. Served alongside cauliflower, braised leek, and lemongrass sauce, it was a perfect harmony of flavors. The Simply Truffle, a fresh homemade pasta with mushrooms in a creamy truffle sauce, stole the spotlight. It was undeniably the best truffle pasta ever tasted, with an unparalleled depth of flavor. Wilhelmina Restaurant delivered not only exquisite dishes but an unforgettable culinary journey. The Simply Truffle pasta is a must-try, earning its place as the star of the show.

I was so disappointed with our dining experience here. I wanted to like Wilhelmina so much. FYI: This is going to be a $200 meal for 2. First with the food: The scallop and shrimp salad was good. Textures colors were beautifully presented though it was so dark you can’t see it. The pasta, definitely homemade with delicious truffle flavors and there were mushrooms but was the truffle shaved on top? I had soup elsewhere and you could see the truffle on top. Dish was very very oily (see the puddle at bottom of the bowl) did they use truffle oil instead of shaved truffle or truffle salt and go over w the oil? Too dark I couldn’t see and no explanation. The rack of lamb lacked salt and for medium rare it was done medium so too well done but never the less a lovely still tender cut done well. No one explained how they made it- I had no idea it was like lamb done two ways first the meaty parts which were cut for you and placed in the reductions sauce then the rack was brushed with a Caribbean bbq sauce, very tasty! And then there was the lack of service or experience: we were paired with a server Samir who was new, spoke little English, and didn’t execute well and was not finished training for restaurant service. Samir was nervous and should not have been serving by himself. He forgot to put in drinks, he forgot to fill our wine and cocktails to start was forgotten. Our glasses empty and not filled by the end of the night our sparkling water bottle was still full and wasted. If it was on the table I could have filled it myself but it was not in reach. He didn’t welcome, smile, or explain anything on the menu. I felt as though others around us received better service with other servers especially the gentleman in blue who seems to be the manager. Samir gave us appetizers plates to share our main entrees when our neighbors ordered the same items and received split plates of meat entrees and smaller bowls of their pasta split in 2! For us, we had to ask for serving spoons to divide up our courses ourselves. The bread was hard and dry. After an hour still no smile or even small talk and I had 3 empty glasses 1 wine 1 cocktail and 1 water glass! I don’t like to feel like I’m getting a subpar dining Experience when others around me are getting treated better with explanations of their courses, suggestions for wine or appetizers and just plain light conversations to lighten the mood! At the end of the night not a thank you or anything encouraging but “have a safe night”. I’m thinking, who says that, I mean are we going to get robbed or something? So anyways I admit- once we got off on the wrong foot everything seemed off and no rebound from that point on. So many other little things that added up to a ruined experience for me. I am probably listing a few more petty annoyances for that reason. I just wanted to love this place so bad! The food was good. But to be honest I had an amazing pork dish and truffle risotto dish down the street that rivaled Wilhelmina in flavor combination and presentation. Maybe next year but with so many places to go to I’m not sure the price is worth this terrible service.

Ok...a lot of people say things like this but I consider myself extremely well versed in fine dining and haute cuisine. It’s basically my hobby and I spend a ton of money engaging in it. I say that only so this may mean something to someone: Wilhemina in Aruba is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at, including those of New York, Chicago, etc. Every single item placed in front of us, down to the butter and bread, had absolutely stunning flavors. The service was impeccable. I cannot say enough about how delicious everything was. Truly. It is expensive. But...most of the food in nice restaurants in Aruba is similarly expensive. And for food of this quality I felt it had great value. I saw some reviews here complaining of the seating or ambience. Huh? It’s a Caribbean restaurant. Open air dining on nice patios is pretty typical. And the garden at Wilhemina is lovely. Absolutely world-class. Five stars.

I have been visiting Aruba for over 30 years, and this year I am on the island for a month this summer. I have dined at both Wilhemina and its even more exclusive sister dining experience Carte Blanche every year, and I was delighted to see that its popularity has not diminished since COVID. In fact, all seating is currently outdoors, and with the lovely Aruban weather, the courtyard at Wilhemina takes you into a tropical environment where you can enjoy the finest cuisine in the Caribbean. I know Chef Dennis, the proprietor, very well, and he personally comes to talk to the diners on a nightly basis. If you want to have a special, world class meal with Dutch influence in a stunningly gorgeous al fresco courtyard experience, Wilhemina is absolutely the place for you.

This. Place. Is. Amazing. Wow!!! The atmosphere and the food are unmatched!!! I am gluten free so I got the chicken and mushroom entree and we had the truffle risotto and salad for an app. It was breathtaking - maybe best meal I’ve ever eaten. I would come back every single night. Service was also fabulous and very welcoming. Love love love it here!!!!

This restaurant is our consistent go-to every time we are in Aruba. Their food is TOP NOTCH each time. The menu changes but the chef always produces a fabulous feast from start to finish. The inside of the restaurant is picturesque. The waitstaff are always stellar. This place is good for couples and for big groups. We have come here with a group of adults or with our kids, who are in middle school. This restaurant is worth the cab ride from Palm Beach! ENJOY!!

Tried this restaurant for the first time this visit, and I am a bit upset we hadn't tried it in previous years. Food was nothing short of amazing. Everything we ordered from start to finish was tasty and cooked to perfection. The ingredients they use in their dishes work so well together. The service was extremely attentative as well.

Most incredible ambiance and every item on the menu that we ordered was superb 👏🏻 P.S. we noticed little crab that I suspect escaped from the kitchen so let’s not tell the chef 👨🏻‍🍳 or maybe it’s just a local habitant like other lizards out there, then no need to keep a secret from the chef about the escape of the crab from the kitchen 🤫

If you are a foodie, this was my favorite restaurant on Aruba!! I absolutely LOVED the Indonesian Roasted Pork and the shrimp ravioli, too! Wilhelmina’s ravioli was good but I’m not much of a mushroom person.

Food is delicious. Think classic 80’s and 90’s style French inspired cooking. And there’s definitely something going on with the management and wait staff. Not sure I’ll go back before trying other top rated places on the island.

Incredibly beautiful ambiance and dining experience at Wilhelmina. Definitely a must eat when in Aruba. Started with an amuse bouche and had a Caesar salad and the catch of a day. Plenty of vegan and gluten free options on the menu. On the more expensive side but worthwhile for a special occasion meal while on vacation.

An absolutely gorgeous looking restaurant. Food was outstanding. They brought us tastings of their soup which I would highly recommend ordering as it was Divine. ( I would have but it would have been too much food for me) The presentation of each dish was beautiful. I had the cabbage malfouf. The flavours were wonderful. We all had desserts which were lovely. A very talented chef. Service was impeccable if a little pretentious which was the only negative. Highly recommend. Tip: ask to be seated in the middle of the restaurant not the very back near the serving carts. Location of your table adds to your experience and it is a beautiful open air restaurant.

We had a wonderful experience here! Although some of their servers lacked masks (only face shields), we were outdoors and interactions were brief. The outdoor area was beautiful and quite accommodating for our little 10 pound pup. While the main protein of the entrees (barracuda #1 preparation, indonesian pork) were not too exciting, we loved the appetizers (ceviche and the fish cakes), all of the accompaniments to the entrees, drinks, and the dessert (chocolate ganache). Chef Dennis was also a great host and enjoyed our brief chat with him.

Absolute best meal we had in Aruba and also one of our favorite meals in a long time. Started with the shrimp ravioli and kimchi salad with shrimp. Both amazing. Shrimp ravioli homemade and delicious. Kimchi salad was fun, refreshing and deliciously unique. Then we had the fish of the day (snapper) prepared with a pea purée, smoked butter and potatoes. Finished off with chocolate gateau. I would repeat the same meal again! So sad we will be leaving tomorrow. We will definitely be returning to Wilhelmina on our next visit. Last but not least - fabulous service! Such kind and attentive staff that welcomed us with a glass of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon, we sure felt special!

My family and I have come here for the past 3 years. Let’s start with the good. The goat cheese salad was fabulous as well as the lobster bisque soup. However, this last time we went we had a bad experience. For the bad- I don’t like curry and my beef kimchi had curry in it. It took over the entire flavor of the dish and was disappointed. Also if you’re going to have beef kimchi on the menu, people may expect it to be Korean style. Especially since the menu didn’t specify it would have curry in it. The falafel also had curry in it and the menu didn’t specify that it had it. I don’t know if I will be going back. The service was also lacking and the drinks were okay.

Upscale restaurant with good vibe but they have tables outside that don't look very nice. The service is friendly and correct and the food is fresh and well presented but the flavors are not top notch. The ceviche is finely chopped with a nice marinade with ginger. The tomato and lobster is ok but the lobster pieces are pretty hard and the dish does not sing. For the mains we tried fish of the day(barracuda) and the mahi mahi. Both pretty good but i think they should change the shrimp in the mahi dish for something else, they don't add anything and the dish is better without the shrimp. The amuse bouche is tasty and they have different wine options by the glass. The restaurant is worth a visit even though my overall grade is just three stars, it's a good experience with well prepared food and nice service but the flavor profiles does not match my personal preference so i would not go back.

Pros: - Delicious chicken, cooked perfectly in a sauce with great flavor. - Diverse menu options. - Tasty bitterball and soup amuse. - Unique rolls with spiced butter. - Lovely ambiance in the outdoor garden. This would be a great place for a romantic dinner. - The staff all had excellent English, including on the phone when I called. - Outstanding service. All of them worked well as a team to take care of the customers. - No hint of snobbishness. Polite, kind and thoughtful. Their etiquette is impeccable. - Plenty of parking on the street. And as usual in Aruba, you feel safe and comfortable even at night. Where they went above and beyond was after I left, my rental car wouldn't start. I came back to ask a bartender for address info. I then went outside to wait and was soon followed by one of the front-of-the-house staff members. He offered me a drink at their neighboring restaurant, Maroc, while he would watch for the rental car serviceman. I was grateful for the help- thank you for taking my car headache and making it a non-issue! Cons: - The cross-streets nearest the restaurant aren't marked very clearly. Use Google Maps.

One of the best dining places I have gone to in a long time. Food was fantastic ! We had truffled shrimp pasta that was increadable and a seabass dish that was pan seared and slightly crispy on the outside. Probably the best preperation I ever had. The atmosphere is very nice and romantic with a unique indoor / outdoor setting with large plants and open sky setting within the building. Service was exceptional. I highly recommend.

Had dinner there with a bachelorette party group and the service was top notch. They welcomed us with complementary champagne and some starters. Everything we ordered was amazing and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!!

The bread was good. Shrimp which is an off menu item, was flavorful and tasty but everything else not very good. We dined outdoors in an area that looks like a driveway. International influences throughout the menu with no clear focus. All of the entree’s were drowning in sauce overpowering the taste of the food. I tend to favor Mediterranean food and this menu had nothing that appealed to me. Only vegetable on menu was mixed medley (in my experience probably frozen) Not having vegetables on menu matters to me - May not to others. All Depends on your taste in food. Service was excellent.

Food and service are good, but the food is pricier than it should be

Great food! They served a croquette and soup shots complimentary. Very good! We ordered the beef kimchi appetizer which I loved! Then we had the rosada (fish of the day) and beef short rib. Both were very good but I liked the beef short rib best. We ended with panna cotta. They were also extremely accommodating to my food allergy - truffle - which happened to be in like 70% of the dishes. We ate at all the highest rated restaurants on the island and this was the best meal we had. Perfect Valentine’s Day dinner and last dinner on the island.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Aruba. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and the restaurant ambiance was beautiful. The dinner started with an amuse bouche of shots of soups and fish balls. I had the beef short rib as a main which was possibly the best I’ve ever had. Definitely a restaurant you should visit while you’re here!

We were a party of four going to Wilhelmina for the first time. We were delighted with the beauty of the restaurant. The garden setting is a complete surprise in the middle of Oranjestad. I was also impressed with the kindness and professionalism of the staff. The food was very well prepared. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. The risotto was delicious and the flavors in the beef ravioli was just intense enough to make a perfect appetizer. For a special night out, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Wow. Just wow. This was not a dinner, this was an experience! From the fresh watermelon and grapefruit basil drinks to the appetizers, meal and dessert it was a win win all around!! The apps were so good I forgot to take pics before we consumed them. The celery root soup was quite possibly the best soup I've ever tasted. My husband had the lobster bisque and he said the same. We tried the Wilhelmina Salad, the scallops and watermelon and the civeche and all were prepared beautifully. Not one grain of sand in the scallops, the shrimp were cooked perfectly and the civeche was fantastic. Our party tried the two fish options and reported only the best reviews. I thoroughly enjoyed the escargot, shrimp and sea bass. The flavors were individual yet beautiful together. We tried the Dame Blanche, Lemon Tarte and Wilhelmina Cheesecake for dessert. To truly appreciate the decadence you have to understand the art of cooking. This is an artist's take on the normal to make the incredible. If you expect a NY Cheesecake, go to NY. This was an incredible change. The ambiance was amazing with the uplit trees in a courtyard atmosphere. Chef Dennis spoke with our party and brought much laughter to the dinner. Glen and Bente provided a spectacular experience. I will frequent this restaurant whenever I'm on the island. Also. The communication via email to the States for reservations was prompt and extremely friendly. Definitely a night to remember!

Atmosphere (open garden) - five stars, service - five stars, food - five stars. Everything was great. Short and nice walk from the Renaissance Resort, and much needed after dinner. Soup of the day tasted good (maybe a bit too salty but good nevertheless), salads were delicious, snapper was great as well. We are definitely going back on our next visit to Aruba
