I rented a Villa for a holiday this month. The room exceeded my expectations, the view from the balcony was beautiful. The amenities of the room including washing machine, fridge, stove, and dishwasher, made it a guilt free stay. I was able to pack light and limit restaurant meals. The beach was wonderful and renting a cabana was easy (you just need to listen to what the front desk says when you check-in). You have to bring your own pool "floats" (fyi).

This was my first time in Aruba, and this was a wonderful place to stay at. We stay here for 9 days. The villa was nice and clean. The staff was wonderful. The food was decent. Some places were better than others on the property. The lazy river was really nice. Just remember to bring your own pool float, and they have stations where you can blow them up. They have 2 Jacuzzis. And they beach is in walking distance. You have to register for a canopy on the beach if you want one. But other than that, all the beaches in Aruba are free. I will definitely be staying here again.

If you go to this resort, put all your valuables locked in the safe. I did not realize there was a safe in the room as it is located in the closet behind the spare bedding. Cleaning crew went through all of the drawers and found my jewelry that I had hidden. They took three rings including my wedding ring of 45 years, a bracelet and earrings. Spent way too much of my vacation with hotel security and then the local police and never got any response. Notified corporate and they sent a curt response saying they are not responsible. No apology whatsoever. Do yourself a favor and choose another hotel chain.

The location was great. Beautiful beach. Great restaurants on the property. The pool area is great. The Surf Club is a little bit more of the party side. The Ocean Club next door was a little more calm and relaxed. We enjoyed our stay. We stayed at a "studio" as part of the vacation club deal. It was a basic hotel room with a few bowls and dishes. But overall good experience.

Terrible Terrible Terrible! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT NOT STAT HERE WITH YOUR FAMILY. ROOM FULL OF BUGS AND PESTS. They did absolutely nothing. We couldn't sleep for 3 nights. Spending over $800 per night and we couldn't use the room to sleep. Room service and operations team did absolutely nothing. Jasmine- operations manager didn't even care to come and loon into it. Luzdary- hotel manager gave us the runaround for 4 days until we are checking out. She refused to even come meet us until I flipped out at the front desk. This hotel told me they don't care for our business. YOU WILL GET BITTEN AND DESTROYED BY THE PESTS. go to a real hotel with your hard earned money. They ruined my first trip to Aruba. Thanks to this Terrible service I will never be coming back. I should have stayed at Ritz--- at least I can sleep.

Incredible resort. The lazy river was absolutely fantastic and relaxing. The kids (young and young at heart) loved the water a slide too. The easy access to the beach was great and meant we could go between the pool area and beach with our family. All the employees we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back.

Amazing vacation experience!!! If you stay here pack a float in your luggage for the lazy river. Great service, clean rooms, pristine accommodations, friendly staff and delicious drinks! Also check out ABC Tours for an exciting day exploring the Island.

This was the 3rd time staying at Marriott’s Surf Club & will be the last. Most of the staff was kind & helpful. Checking in was a cluster #%@!. 4:00pm rooms not ready. Trying to get a reservation for a palapa, was like getting tickets for a Taylor Swift. (Was not lucky) Was told they do not have enough palapa’s for the number of rooms. Chairs near the pool were impossible to get also. Would have to get up at 6:45AM to try to get chairs near the pool. The pool had more screaming kids than adults. Was like staying at a inexpensive hotel near Disney. Never saw anyone walk to restrooms. Saw kids in adult pool & gym. I was looking forward to a week of relaxation & it ended up be very stressful. Had to take sleeping pills after 11:00pm because of the loud music & noise near the hotel. Was thinking of being part of the vacation club but not anymore. Sorry Marriott but our stay was horrible.

Nice amenities including gym, pool, lazy river Sales calls ypur room daily pushing time share sales pitch, ypu have to go on line and reserve and pay extra for beach chairs which I never heard of after paying price for room , food, liquor all week . Some people have had their bags , towels etc with their credit cards removed from their chairs when they went to beach or long walk which is annoying. Provide enough chairs for people and put in your rent instead of acting like a low cost airline thst charges additionally for luggage seats etc as it is annoying to people to go online and reserve on vacation as well as pay extra

Not my definition of a relaxing vacation! At 8.30 am, we couldn’t find 4 sunbeds anymore. People go at 6.30-7am to reserve their sunbeds not only with towels, but a beach Clip they attach to their sunbeds, tables and chairs. Then they don’t show up for hours, but it’s reserved! Wow, what a system!? Oh and don’t even try to reserve something at the beach, it was fully booked for the next days in advance. I wonder, if people book their sunbeds already from home? The music at the pool is very loud - a beach club feeling. Pool and lazy river are nice but freezing cold and there is always a strong wind on this island. Prices in the hotel and outside are high. The room is decent and clean, but not a wow. My towels weren’t changed, coffee/Tea not refilled, trash cans not emptied or beds made Sure, service and staff were nice and friendly. For me personally, I have seen much nicer hotels, way better service and nicer beaches/water than this and this applies as well to Aruba. I would definitely not come back. I did not see the value, I would get in return.

Great hotel, especially when traveling with younger kids. Expansive rooms, lazy river, kids club, swim up bar, beach, you name it they have it. Daily activities are always fun, and the hotel is a short walk to high end restaurants in the Ritz and Marriott Stelaris, as well as shopping and dining in town.

UPDATE 7-18-22: Regarding the below review. After a call to the manager, the hotel stopped using the loud machine and a few days later resumed raking the beach manually and most importantly, silently. Upgrading the rating from 2 stars to 3. (Responsive management but still an overall poor value) I had booked this hotel the night prior to travel via the Marriott Bonvoy app as it normally creates a seamless booking experience. The room was an oceanfront room at a cost of $600+tax per night. First the positives. The lazy river is great. The food at the Captain’s Galley was surprisingly good. Now the negatives. Check in was baffling. Arrived at the hotel at 4:30 pm. They couldn’t find our reservation. After some poking and searching they finally found it and realized that the room hadn’t been cleaned yet. So it would be an hour to clean the room. I always try to get an oceanfront room to fully capitalize on the vacation experience and feel far removed from the sights and sounds of big city and suburbia. However, when I walked out onto my balcony at 7:30 am, coffee in hand, prepared for a peaceful morning, I was treated to the very sounds that I was here to get away from. One of the staff was was in front of my balcony driving a remote control operated machine that smoothed out sand. He spent an hour doing this. It was like sitting on your front porch while the landscapers are mowing and leaf blowing your lawn. I called the front desk and advised them of the noise level and that I want my money back if this continues. About 15 minutes later the noise discontinued. Not sure if it’s as a result of my phone call. Who the heck cares if the sand is smooth or a little bumpy??!! Is the price of significantly disturbing the peace worth smooth sand??!! This is a perfect example of when a hotel becomes out of touch with guest needs. Also the rooms are dated and small. Not a great value. Definitely avoid.

The rooms are great with too many amenities to list here. The staff is super friendly and engaging. Plenty of pools (baby, toddler, kids, lazy river, jacuzzi) to enjoy with chairs and umbrellas. There's only 2 drawbacks: 1 if you stay in the front of the resort you have a trek to get to the beach going thru all the pools. 2 is not really walking distance from the main strip (shops, restaurants, bars), and finding parking near the venues is damn near impossible. Your best bet is to take a 5-10 min walk there, and you guessed it walk around some more.

Comfortable two bedroom villas, set specifically for relaxation. A little geriatric in terms of its clientele, but everyone seems to be happy and energetic which is nice. Right on the ocean, and next to some beach bars and restaurants which is perfect for walking home, or in our case. Stumbling

My first time visiting Aruba on a girl’s trip and I enjoyed every moment of it. The staff at the Marriott Surf Club is 5-star within themselves. They absolutely without question took the best care of all 12 of us. I would definitely return again.

It was our first time staying at this property. Feel very satisfied with staff cleanliness location activities. One of our arrival we were greeted Shaun Of the bell Man for the Resort He made our vacation very special and treated my kids, so good that they will always look forward to see him if I ever come back to this property. He is one of the reasons we will go back because of his hospitality and how he made us feel very welcome to their island.

Beautiful hotel, nice pool but trying to get same day or night before reservations for the beach is not worth it. If you don't get reservation for the beach you can't sit with their chairs. Only available seats days prior is the 900 row which you can't even see the water from. You also need to reservation pool chair with tags they give you at check ib. If you arnt out there before 7am to reserve your seats good luck trying to get a pool chair at all. Staff is nice, super expensive food is decent, beds are good.. I wouldn't stay here again simply because of the hassle it takes to reserve a beach chair.

Every time we stay here, it has been excellent and very enjoyable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The rooms were recently renovated last year and are modern & impeccably furnished. There are several pools, a shop , computers , and pool bar on property. Of coarse the best part of it, is being a Beachfront property on Palm Beach! 🏝️

It is very nice. Lots of people which is not my thing. If you like lots of activities and lots of bars and don’t minds thousands packed into a square mile it is great.

Stayed on the 11th floor of the compass tower in October 2023. The studio side is a bit small, but the one bedrooms are spacious. Nicely decorated with a balcony on each side. Fully stocked kitchen. Beach is beautiful but popular. Convenience store is nice with a small bakery attached for coffee. Pool chairs need to be reserved as early as 6 am with the chair tags provided. Overall very nice, to Marriott standard.

We have stayed at Surf Club several times, since 2005. We always love our stays here. I mean, you're in Aruba, so how bad could it be? But, the villas are really spectacular, always clean. We love the ability to make our meals in the full kitchen when we want to, and do our laundry, which provides the possibility of packing less. The pools at this resort are top notch. The lazy river is obviously our favorite, because it can be so tranquil. But, it can also get a little crazy. The adult pool feels like a nice retreat when needed. The onsite food has gotten better over the years, and is pretty good for what you'd expect for an onsite quick service type of place. Overall, fantastic times at this resort!

The worst Marriott I have ever went to. What kind of hotel has bugs and pests all over the room. The supervisor came personally and saw all the bugs. Thier solution was to vacuum them. But the problem remains cause they came back. Got bitten all over. Truly disgusting. Do urself a favor and find another hotel.

Spent a week at the surf club in a 2 bedroom suite. This was our first time in Aruba. The room was excellent and had everything we needed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. While the grounds were nice, it reminded me of going on a cruise ship. Lots of people crowded into a small area. Too many activities going on at the pool but we found the lazy river and kiddie side to be more relaxing. The beach was nothing to write home about. Crowded and not much room between palapas. The reservation system was okay. Due to all of this we only spent 1 day on site. We found much nicer beaches at Baby and our favorite Arashi. The location of the surf club was fine if you like to be close to everything including people.

Rooms were clean, and the staff is great. The pool is awesome! The walk is long to the strip, but a cab ride is only 7.00USD

Let’s start out with amazing. One could go there for a week or more, never leave the property, and never get hungry or bored. There is restaurants, shops, gelato, drinks, a lazy River, and water park, and all kinds of activities. The rooms are of the highest quality, the service of the highest standard, the grounds immaculate, and the staff super nice

I stayed five days after Memorial Day and my only regret is that I didn’t stay a whole week. There’s so much to do at and around the hotel. I took a few of the local excursion trips as well as indulged in the fun at the resort. I must say the Lazy River is the most relaxing and enjoyable attraction. FYI, floats are on sale in the resort, but if you want one with a cup holder, buy it next door at the Marriott Ocean Club. You can inflate it at the Surf Clubs towel stand next to the pool. The entire staff including the front desk, concierge, housekeeping, and bartenders were extremely kind and made sure my stay was amazing.

We have been coming here for 20 years. This is year I realized that this hotel needs a major facelift.. The rooms need renovating and at most a good deep cleaning. The tub was gross and looked to have been worked on poorly. The cabinets and tv stand had a film of dust all over it.. This place is in need of good renovation. The pools also need work and TLC. I have to say we were disappointed & hope they start phasing in some more renovations here.

During my last departure from Aruba, I scored a Marriott deal while at the airport. Fast forward, we arrived to a LONG check-in line. Despite the long line, the guests and I had a good conversation. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We received our room assignment, and we were on our way. The room was excellent, with a few exceptions. The couch looks like its from 1980 and should be replaced. Housekeeping could have done a better job cleaning the bathroom. The floor/tub/shower area contained a lot of hair. A simple mopping and rinsing would have gotten the job done. Note: The bathroom looked clean otherwise. The location was great. We rented a car but rarely used it. We walked everywhere (less than a mile). Note: Parking is free. The lazy river and beach were buzzing with people. If you don't like crowds hit both after 5:30 PM. It's fewer people. The gym was more than we expected. My guy suffered a laceration to his finger. I had to call security, who brought medical staff. Shout out to Lisa and Kate; they did a fantastic job. Kate transported us to UC for treatment, and the Marriott staff picked us up. They made sure we were okay every step of the way. I would stay here again. If you would like to venture out you can or simply relax at the resort. Note: We stayed in the compass building and had a great from the 7th floor.

Had the best week here. Youraine at the front desk was amazing and made our first visit special! Lazy river gets 5/5 stars. Got a front row palapa a few days. Won bingo. Juan who lead the stretch was amazing. Aruba aloe scrub making was great. Absolutely had an amazing time!! Not a single complaint. Would recommend!

Beautiful grounds, beachfront location is perfect, fun amenities like pools, lazy river, two different hot tubs (one being only for adults), gym and pool Bingo. Wonderful staff. The rooms were convenient with laundry in room, and kitchen, 2 bedrooms, beautiful balcony and soaking tub in addition to the two showers. I would definitely stay here again and have friends who also rave about it.

$399 for 4night stay in windy Aruba. The hotel has 5 different pools including a lazy river and water slide. Very fun days so far. Highly recommend if you know how to say no to buying into the timeshare presentation. Google Marriott timeshare deal call and ask for Aruba.

Rooms need updating. Fridge is loud. Light switches are in odd places. Cracked floor tiles. No handheld shower head. Food and drinks are so-so and overpriced. Location is great, easy walk to lots of shops and restaurants.

Nice hotel, clean and big. Right on the beach, big beautiful wadding pool but you need to have a float to use it and they charge you $12 for a pool noodle !!!! Or 20 for a adult float so buy before you board the plane at home. Free air to inflate tube. Free towels (4) for lounge chairs. Lounge chairs can be reserved if you wake up at 6:00am and put your tag on chair then go back to your room and sleep till 12 you get 3 tags. But there are a lot of chairs and umbrellas. They also have them at the beach. Grounds were kept clean. It's strange but they really don't have a fancy place to have diner I found that strange. They have a swim up bar and a snack area and a place to eat but not a fancy place. The prices are high on this island so bring lost of cash and credit cards. The other hotels are right next door with a walkway on the beach to go from one hotel to the next. Cab ride was $35 from airport to hotel. Rooms are nice nothing special clean and upto date. There is a area for other restaurants and shops about 5 blocks away easy walking distance you have a good choice of different kinds of food .

Just wow! The lazy river, the pool bar, the flip flop bar and great staff and service. wonderful rooms with washer dryer and full kitchens. in the heart of Palm Beach. walking distance to everything and amazing beaches and glorious sunsets .

The resort was beautiful. The pool chair and beach palapa situation is insane. I’ll come back to Aruba, but will not stay here. We got a great deal on a time share, no complaints on the room or location of room. However, the pool and beach situation did not make up for that. Would stay somewhere else.

Have stayed here the last 20 years. This was the worst as far as getting a popala on the beach. We went on every single day to the website at 5:30 p.m. exactly. And we were never able to reserve a papilla. Sorry Marriott but not coming back here again. Extremely disappointed in the way they handle the papilla reservations to a timeshare owner of 20 plus years. I just did a Google review. Will be telling all my friend is at the American medical association and the American nurses association. Hopefully they will all listen.

Worse service I have ever seen. Been bounced back between services for every question we had. Room different than in the description. We nicely got a fantastic parking view while told we would have ocean view. Rooms are super small. You cant pass after you open the sofa bed. Terrible experience.

The lazy river pool is the most relaxing spot. There is also a second pool, water slide, 2 kids pools and a kids splash area. My kids also enjoyed the playground, which is right next to the BBQ grilling area. Our only negative was parking, it was difficult to find a spot close to our tower in certain days.

If you want a real vacation don’t come here! They do not clean your room the whole time you stay. They charge you extra if you need fresh towels. You even have to take your own trash out! Drinks are $20 each and the beach is so crowded at the hotel you can’t even find a chair to sit in! For $450 and up a night go someplace else.

The staff, location and overall resort is excellent. I totally would recommend it. However here are 3 things I did like or wish they improved (1) pillows where very plush and uncomfortable (2) not enough room closet/draw space and (3) no TV U tube or Netflix or any type of streaming.

  • 4/5 Bernadette M. 1 year ago on Google
The time was well spent however, the rooms are small if you don’t upgrade to a king bed but with the comes $$ because you are paying the kitchen fee.. Our bed did a wheelie and then sank in the middle 😝🤪…. That was crazy but we laughed to not become stressed. However the food from the restaurant was great! my taco salad was delicious!!! And my husband enjoyed his Philly sandwich and fries. This place is definitely children friendly- they have activities for kids and the lazy river…..

Love. Love. Love. One of, if not the best hotel that I've stayed. The staff is excellent. The location is amazing. The rooms are beautiful. Great restaurants. Nice pools, and daily activities. Located right on the beach. You won't regret choosing this hotel for your vacation.

This is my first time at this resort. My wife and her family have been here a couple times prior and enjoyed it. Coming here myself, I can see why. The best part of this resort are the employees; probably some of the loveliest people I've met in a while. They definitely add onto the experience. The pools are spacious and clean. Activities are plentiful and fun. The food options on-site are surprisingly delicious. Be sure to visit the office near the front desk to help you sign up for some once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
