UPDATE
7-18-22:
Regarding
the
below
review.
After
a
call
to
the
manager,
the
hotel
stopped
using
the
loud
machine
and
a
few
days
later
resumed
raking
the
beach
manually
and
most
importantly,
silently.
Upgrading
the
rating
from
2
stars
to
3.
(Responsive
management
but
still
an
overall
poor
value)
I
had
booked
this
hotel
the
night
prior
to
travel
via
the
Marriott
Bonvoy
app
as
it
normally
creates
a
seamless
booking
experience.
The
room
was
an
oceanfront
room
at
a
cost
of
$600+tax
per
night.
First
the
positives.
The
lazy
river
is
great.
The
food
at
the
Captain’s
Galley
was
surprisingly
good.
Now
the
negatives.
Check
in
was
baffling.
Arrived
at
the
hotel
at
4:30
pm.
They
couldn’t
find
our
reservation.
After
some
poking
and
searching
they
finally
found
it
and
realized
that
the
room
hadn’t
been
cleaned
yet.
So
it
would
be
an
hour
to
clean
the
room.
I
always
try
to
get
an
oceanfront
room
to
fully
capitalize
on
the
vacation
experience
and
feel
far
removed
from
the
sights
and
sounds
of
big
city
and
suburbia.
However,
when
I
walked
out
onto
my
balcony
at
7:30
am,
coffee
in
hand,
prepared
for
a
peaceful
morning,
I
was
treated
to
the
very
sounds
that
I
was
here
to
get
away
from.
One
of
the
staff
was
was
in
front
of
my
balcony
driving
a
remote
control
operated
machine
that
smoothed
out
sand.
He
spent
an
hour
doing
this.
It
was
like
sitting
on
your
front
porch
while
the
landscapers
are
mowing
and
leaf
blowing
your
lawn.
I
called
the
front
desk
and
advised
them
of
the
noise
level
and
that
I
want
my
money
back
if
this
continues.
About
15
minutes
later
the
noise
discontinued.
Not
sure
if
it’s
as
a
result
of
my
phone
call.
Who
the
heck
cares
if
the
sand
is
smooth
or
a
little
bumpy??!!
Is
the
price
of
significantly
disturbing
the
peace
worth
smooth
sand??!!
This
is
a
perfect
example
of
when
a
hotel
becomes
out
of
touch
with
guest
needs.
Also
the
rooms
are
dated
and
small.
Not
a
great
value.
Definitely
avoid.
