We
intentionally
booked
a
junior
suite
and
contacted
the
property
before
to
make
sure
we
booked
the
correct
room
as
we
did
not
want
the
villa
suite.
Upon
arrival,
we
were
asked
if
we
were
celebrating
anything
(a
bday)
they
said
they
would
give
us
a
complimentary
upgrade,
but
if
we
didn't
like
it,
to
come
back.
They
really
talked
it
up
and
made
it
sound
like
they
were
taking
care
of
us.
We
checked
it
out
&
sure
enough
it
was
one
of
the
villas
that
we
did
not
want.
We
immediately
went
back
to
the
front
desk
where
they
told
us
they
upgraded
us
because
the
room
we
booked
is
not
available.
They
did
not
offer
any
sort
of
voucher,
refund,
nothing.
We
spent
the
night
in
that
room,
which
would
have
been
fine.
However,
it
was
wet,
musty,
&
overall
disgusting.
The
room
was
poorly
maintained,
not
clean,
and
the
bedding
felt
wet
to
the
touch
because
of
how
musty
it
was.
We
couldn't
get
comfortable
or
unpack.
They
did
change
our
room
the
next
day,
but
it
was
not
a
good
start.
Now
for
a
regular
review
on
the
property:
Riu
is
at
the
beginning
of
the
strip,
great
location
with
surrounding
bars/shops.
The
beach
is
beautiful
and
the
attendants
are
happy
to
set
you
up.
The
property
is
in
need
of
renovations
and
maintenance
clearly
cuts
corners.
There
is
a
hotel
being
built
next
door,
but
the
noise
did
not
bother
us
like
it
did
other
reviewers.
Buffet
options
for
breakfast
&
lunch
were
great
and
the
food
was
delicious.
We
did
eat
dinner
out
every
night
to
see
the
strip
and
try
local
restaurants.
Resort
is
lively
with
music
and
events,
so
if
you're
looking
for
a
quiet
retreat,
this
resort
is
not
for
you.
The
room
they
put
us
in
the
second
night
was
good,
it
was
what
we
originally
booked
and
was
clean
and
comfortable.
The
staff
was
friendly
from
the
bartenders,
to
the
cleaners,
and
everyone
in
between.
They
try
to
make
your
stay
enjoyable.
