We heard about LionFish Snack Aruba from a local and had to try. I never knew that you could eat Lionfish, but apparently it's perfectly safe. And DELICIOUS! Wonderfully cooked, crisp on the outside and delicate and sweet on the inside. We had the wrap and the kibbeling platter. All of it was excellent. Thanks for the unique and yummy experience!

What an amazing way to raise awareness of the impact lion fish is having on Aruban sea life! The food was so yummy - and we got a ton of our questions answered while the lion fish fried. Thank you for a great experience!

Not just the most ethical/sustainable way to eat fish but also one of the most tasty ones. Great fish and chips but also the smoked lionfish sandwich was incredibly tasty. It's a bit hard to find and only open rarely but if you can go you should. The owner is also super friendly and has a lot of knowledge about lionfish and the problems that come with them.

This place is so special. They serve the invasive species, lionfish, exclusively. We left the airport and drove straight to get some as they have very limited hours of operation and we didn't want to miss it. The only way to describe it is quaint ; with a little porch in the back that's covered with lights. We had a combo platter. The lionfish was cooked to perfection. It was so succulent and juicy. The tarter sauce that came with it was fantastic. We will come back when visiting the island again.

Owner Patrick is a wonderful person. One man show at his place. Excellent services from him. Lion fish's meat tasted really good. Just a little salty for me but it is the best fish and chips I had so far. Definitely will go back and visit.

Great place with very friendly and knowledgeable guys. A great way to educate the little ones about nature and the challenges the Caribbean reefs are facing. Make sure to have a seat in back and enjoy your meal in a nice shaded area. Thanks again to our excellent host. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an adventure

What a great idea. The food is delicious and the chef can tell you who speared each fish. This is a win-win-win. Divers get money to fill their tanks, the Caribbean has fewer of this invasive species and the customer gets a delicious meal. Call ahead to make sure they are open.

Found this place from a YouTube video. Had to try it out before we left Aruba. The wings were very tender and delicious, perfected seasoned. Exactly the way I liked. I would highly recommend this unique place.

I absolutely loved eating here after a long day at Baby Beach! Very unique jewelry sold here too that’s made out of Lion Fish. The owner is very nice too. Don’t forget to ask for your side of Papaya Sauce!!! Can’t wait to go back next time I visit Aruba.

This place is delicious! You just order from a window and there’s plenty of spots to eat. Patrick was so friendly and we really enjoyed hearing his story. We got the Kibbeling Platter and the Lionfish Wrap. Both were fantastic. Highly recommend this spot.

I came here after reading about the owners mission to help with the invasive lionfish. They also sell jewelry made from parts of the lionfish. I got a snapback hat that was even better quality than I could have imagined. The food is great. The fry on the fish is good. The fish ball is not for me. The wings have a good amount of bones. Seating in the back is very cute. Parking was easy.

If you eat something in Aruba, make it here. My friends took me here on Saturday (only day open). The food was fantastic. Service and experience share was wonderful. The only reason I'd suggest not attending here would be if you're vegan and dont eat fish. There were cacti everywhere surrounding and a cute patio. No beer available, which would have been a perfect compliment to the fried fish and potatoes with salad. Do yourself a favour and check this place out.

I don’t get what the fuss is about lionfish. If it’s invasive or trash fish then it should be as common as tilapia. Perhaps it would taste better under another preparation. Frying food should be reserved for items devoid of nutritional value.

It’s a novelty and awareness kind of service. Glad the lionfish is getting eaten but it is a drop in a bucket. The lionfish taste is nothing special.

The Lion Fish is indescribably tender and flavorful. The fish is mildly salty but extremely moist. The meals are simple but very enjoyable for a Saturday lunch. It's a must stop if you love trying new foods. The atmosphere is one you expect for a local shop who is doing their best to care for their island and their family. When sitting down to eat, you can even watch the owners' videos of them catching your lunch. If you love smoked foods, take some of the smoked spread to go and get some crackers.

Had some delicious food! The teen who waited on us came out to talk about the lion fish and answered my kids questions, we really appreciated it and learned a lot. Would return just to chat more about the lion fish.

Lionfish are invasive in the Caribbean, so do your part and eat them! Patrick turned a shipping container into a casual, walk-up restaurant with several choices of lionfish plus French fries and salad. It's only open noon to 19:30 on Saturdays. Carry out or enjoy the shade and breeze around the back at picnic-style tables. A video on loop shows how lionfish are caught and why we need to help control them. Enjoy!

Love this place, the lionfish is always delicious and fresh. It is a must go-to every time we come to Aruba. The jewelry pieces are also simple and beautiful.

WOW. I love fish. And I've eaten a lot of fish here in Aruba, but this is by far the tastiest and freshest fish that I have been served whilst here. Patrick is a great host, from the friendliest part of the Netherlands. He works hard to battle the destructive lionfish in the Caribbean, but he needs our support. Eat delicious lionfish and save the planet Caribbean marine life! It actually is sustainable 😎 Patrick, thanks for the amazing food, will visit again when back in Aruba!

Super cool spot only open Saturdays. Food was great and we got a great education on the lionfish and the trouble it causes. Also legit super tasty white fish. My favorite was the kiebblings (not sure I am spelling that right) where my favorite preparation. Only thing I would say is I wish they had more options that were not fried

Wonderful Local Lunch Spot. Owner/Cook very friendly and informative in regard to Lionfish and the effort to contain the damage that they cause the natural habitat. The Lionfish was very tasty and prices were reasonable. My wife and I purchased all 3 platters that we shared. The kibbling platter was the best. Establishment only open on Saturdays. We will try and book our next trip to Aruba to include 2 Saturdays so we can go here twice next time :)

  • 5/5 Yavuz A. 3 years ago on Google
Delicious! Patrick has created a unique experience out of a fish most have never heard of... kudos! Only open on Saturdays so if you are a tourist, you must definitely plan for a visit.

We tried all three on their menu and all taste just great. Fried, but not heavy. Ask Patrick how he catches Lionfish

Loved this stop.. so glad we went! Fish was delicious and it helps the local ecosystem. Super cute patio out back! Also got a gorgeous pair of earrings made from lionfish fins 😍

Absolutely delicious. It’s the best seafood I’ve ever had. Thanks for the good food and the even better cause! Come on Saturdays and bring cash (US or Aruba).

This was our second visit to the LionFish Snack, and both were absolutely amazing! The owner is doing it all: diving, fishing, cooking, serving, and educating! Lion fish is such a tasty dish and we’ve tried everything on the menu. They are only open on Saturdays, but it is well worth planning one Saturday meal around a stop at the Snack!!

Found this place by chance while checking out restaurants on google and so so glad we chose to make the trip off the beaten path to try this out! The owner is so personable, showed us how he catches the lionfish, showed us the lionfish that he was thawing, and has some neat merch too! The jewelry is so neat! Nothing goes to waste, all while helping to control the spread of an invasive species. Also - the fish was SO GOOD. Light, flaky, buttery…perfect!!

  • 5/5 Wil W. 3 years ago on Google
Excellent time with family and friends. The owner is a really easy going guy. He came to our table and explained the story behind the Lion Fish. The food itself was great and i do mean great. We tried all three menu items: Fritters (Kibbeling), Wings and Wrap. The wings are just the fish with pectoral fin attached. An experience worth trying when you are in Aruba👍.

I learned about this place from Aruban YouTuber Hyro (Let's Go!), and I'm sure glad I did! Lion fish is an invasive fish, harming the population of all the other fish you love--and if you try LionFish, you will love to eat it too. The fish is caught by the owner and other locals, and couldn't be any fresher. I had the wrap which was delicious! The prices are good, service is great. There's a nice seating area around back, or take your food to go.

What a pleasant surprise! We had no idea what we were in for. After the owner/cook explained the whole concept of cooking lion fish we ordered lion fish wraps and a special! Fish was light, tasty and vegetables and fruit was fresh! It’s worth the trip to this place! Only open on Saturday!

  • 4/5 Maria G. 1 year ago on Google
The lion fish bites are great, just wish they had were served with fresh fries instead of frozen ones. That would definitely bring this review up to 5 stars!

  • 5/5 Neel N. 1 year ago on Google
Been coming here for two years and this place is so great! Patrick the owner is an amazing advocate of the lion fish infestation. The food itself is amazing, I recommend the kibbling platter.
