I had a blast on my charter with Driftwood. Crew was professional and very helpful when catching fish. Pro Tip: 1) if you are not used to the waves from the sea please take some Dramamine before going out. It was a group of four and everyone threw up but me. 😃 We booked an eight hour trip but we had to cut it to four, it was too much for everyone with the waves. 2) after the charter they offer the option to have your fish cooked by the restaurant. If you catch a lot of fish I highly recommend letting them cook the fish for you.

The buildings reminded me of Amsterdam. Everything is so neat and clean. Downtown Oranjestad is worth to be seen!

Town was clean, but half empty. Stores were shuttered but booths of souveniors were in empty lots. Seemed to be struggling for cruise ship shoppers. Very safe, good bus system.

Great area full of shops. Lots of work going on, and I was impressed by how different the ABC islands are to some other Carribbean islands in terms of infrastructure. Shops not pushy and a great day walking around.

I love downtown Aruba however COVID19 has affected many businesses I love to patronize. The businesses are closed :( The trolley is always a great experience.

Once in a lifetime experience!!! Captain Anthony, José and Sergio took us out for a full day of marlin fishing and did not disappoint. We got multiple hits on the marlin and landed one in the boat! We caught a 144" 400lbs Blue Marlin and 7 Mahi Mahi. Driftwood restaurant even cooked up our Mahi for us in multiple ways and it was to die for! Best Mahi I've ever had! 🤤 The crew made it such a fun day that we will never forget! Anthony is a top notch captain, can't wait to go out on our next trip to Aruba! Highly recommend 👍

A beautiful little downtown of Oranjestad, only a short walk from the cruise port. There is a trolley that connects these two locations, as well.

I want to give a BIG Thank you to my captain, Anthony and the first Mate, Jose on the Driftwood II. I asked to catch a Marlin, and they delivered. It was an awesome time to spend with them. I had the boat all to myself and they treated me great. Loved every minute.

Safe and fun to walk around. Prices differ a lot. More expensive for the same stuff closer to the water.

This was our second time with Driftwood Charters and it was just as awesome as the first time. We did a 4 hour afternoon trip and pulled in some barracudas, wahoos , and even a sailfish! The sail fish we did catch and release but made for a great picture and made for a story of a lifetime! The crew is so fun to work with and they put us on the fish from start to finish. It is super easy to book online, and as an added bonus the crew will take your fish from the dock to Driftwood restaurant (you can literally walk to the restaurant) and you can eat your own fish for dinner! We can't wait to go back.

Crew was amazing, I would highly recommend to everyone. The crew consisted of a 12 year old boy and a 17 year old boy and of course the captain. Their work ethic is amazing and they are fun to have. I would highly recommend!

The crew and the boat were very nice. We only caught one very small tuna in 4hrs of fishing. Could just be bad luck. The captain recommended a 6hr to 8hr fishing trip for better results. I was not disappointed with the service, but I wish we caught more fish.

We went deep sea fishing on our honeymoon and had a blast! I had never been before & it was so much fun. We saw lots of dolphins (as you know isn’t good when you’re trying to fish) but that was super fun to experience as well. We caught some good little ones and highly recommend this charter. The crew went above and beyond to help us catch fish. We had gorgeous weather as well.

I went for a 4 hour trip in my birthday in March of 2023. The captain and 1st mate were fantastic and put us on the fish quickly. Although fishing had been tough the past few days we were successful in pulling in several Wahoo and a few Bonita. There were 4-5 boats that left at the same time we did but ours was the only one that caught fish. I will definitely be booking with Driftwood on my next trip to Aruba.

First time deep sea fishing. Capt Jose, Anthony, and J Lo were awesome from start to finished. Took us out 10 miles, used the fishfinder to get to where all the fish were and helped us catch a ton of fish, enough to supply the southern shore of island. Thank you!

Captian J and his mates Raymond/Norman are top knotch. The young bucks are well taken care by Captian J’s ability to read the area and control a situation. My wife and I hooked into a sailfish and brought it to the boat, then respectfully did a safe release. We also caught 9 mahi which was superb. The charter service is holding the fish for dinner tomorrow night at their restaurant. Incredibly captian with loads of knowledge and a great organization.

Slowish day trolling, but the crew worked hard to get us dinner. We caught amber jack and some small mahi trolling. Then the crew did bottom fishing and we caught 30+ snapper. The Driftwood I is a bit dated compared to the Driftwood II and Living Easy. I'd recommend the newer boats next time. We enjoyed our catch at the restaurant that night.

Captain Francis and first mate Gregory had a tough day ahead of them with a difficult morning of fishing when we got on the boat for the afternoon trip. But despite this they put their noses to the grindstone and first mate Gregory was switching and cycling lines and baits to try and do what he could to entice a bite. Just when I had relegated my mind to not catching fish I heard Captain Francis yell out ‘Ballyhoo!’ and first mate Gregory expertly guided the bait near the fish who took the bait. The result? A 400 pound Blue Marlin and 4 shocked fisherman who have been on cloud 9 ever since. Thank you!

This was the first time here and they took us without a reservation. The service was excellent, my husband and I didn’t even need to ask for more water once! They offered free garlic bread and an Aruban corn bread which I forget the name of.For appetizers we ordered scallops, crab cake, and onion soup. For dinner we shared the sea bass meal. Done if the best seafood we’ve ever eaten. Highly recommend!!!

BE AWARE: This place charges at least $400 to go fishing and YOU DON’T GET TO KEEP THE CATCH. They use tourists to pay for fishing and the fish goes to their restaurant. The worst thing is that they don’t tell you this when you board. We caught a huge yellow fin tuna that was worth a lot of money and a huge barracuda. We were then told that we can have a meal at their restaurant and they keep the fish.

Loved our experience! Never fished in my life but Gregory showed us exactly what to do and was kind&patient. We caught wahoo, bonitos, and a small amberjack. We ate the wahoo in the restaurant. They served it to us 4 different ways. So much food!!

  • 3/5 Ben B. 2 years ago on Google
We had fun but the crew was very lame compared to other fishing charters I’ve been on. Very little communication or education. Just got on the boat, set lines and came back. We caught a few and the guys were nice, in particular the mate working the lines, but wasn’t worth $400 for two people. They also don’t provide hotel transport which is a miss.

I would avoid booking a trip with Driftwood Fishing Charters. I booked a 1/2 day trip with them on 5-13-2021 and was very disappointed with the experience. As you can guess, we didn't catch anything in 4 hours. I understand that there are no guarantees in fishing but I would have expected the crew to at least make an effort. Perhaps they could have attempted to change the bait, maybe try different tactics or perhaps focus on catching something smaller so that we could have enjoyed the trip. Instead, the crew seemed to be satisfied with just dragging lines in the water and talking to each other in a language that no one on the boat understood. in fact, one of my friends told the captain, "how about a little less talking and a little more fishing". This was a waste of $400.

Me and my wife went on a 8 hr trip back in April with capt. Anthony and Sergio. The seas were definitely bigger than we were used to fishing in Florida, which led to us eating nausea medicine all day to make it 6 hours out of our 8 hour trip. Lol. But, we had a great time and Anthony and Sergio were great. We caught some tune, Bonita, hooked up on a big shark and landed about a 90 or 100lb shark. We had a great day and will likely visit again if we return to Aruba. Driftwood restaurant also was a great experience. They cooked our tuna, shark, and other species that we caught and it was all fantastic.

Jose and Bryan were awesome! As a first timer it can be intimidating reeling in fish with that kind of fight but these two were so supportive. At the end of the morning we came home with tuna for dinner and smiles from ear to ear!

Very professional crew. I'm bad with names but I want to say the captain's name was ijian. And his son was the mate which at 17year old was very professional. They warned us it would be rough and they were right! So with that said, be aware if you get motion sickness you will be helping them catch fish with your own chum. I run my own boat offshore at home and have never been sick... until today. 3 of 4 of us got sick and then we were fine for the rest of the trip catching tuna, mahi, and barracuda. I would definitely go again but I would love to target marlin next time!

  • 4/5 Holden C. 4 years ago on Google
Overall the crew was great and the charter was great we caught a 45-50 lb wahoo a smaller wahoo and a black fin tuna it’s just the swells were 8-12feet so we had to call it short at like 2 1/2 ours out of 4 so my advice take dredamine even if you don’t normally get seasick

Super easy to set up the charter. It was the first time for my wife and they did a great job explaining everything to her. Capt Francis and Greg put us on the fish, and worked hard when it slowed down. Very friendly and we had great conversations on the boat. Would absolutely come back and fish with them
