Best Pastechi we tried in Aruba❤️ It’s Affordable and the owner was courteous and friendly, we ordered different varieties the one that stands out for us are Chop soy, Salmon, Keri Keri and beef we also ordered smoothies soursop is really good😊 it’s so sad that a lot of stores are closed due to the pandemic… when in Aruba I highly recommend to try local food and support local businesses not only you will help them but you will enjoy the food and get to know them😊

Absolutely terrible. Don’t waste your time or money. Bought 4 different seafood pastechis and they were pathetic. The shrimp had 2 very small shrimps in them in a putrid sauce. They are filled only about 1/3 of the frozen pocket. Very overpriced $20 US for the 4. Waited about 30 minutes. Staff are very unfriendly. I fed the empty pockets to the pigeons on the street. Don’t go here.

Food was very good. We really appreciated that everything was labeled. 4 food items and a smoothie was approximately $40 USD. We wondered, after arriving at the airport to return home😒, that the prices didn't seem to add up with the menu prices. The food was good enough to recommend the restaurant, but double check your receipt before you leave. Cashier was grumpy.

Cash only. Street parking around the corner. Order at the counter. Quick to take the order, warm we got them. I really enjoyed the lobster and the ham with cheese.

Liked it! Tried pastechi for the first time and they were really good. I ordered 3 of them, chicken, beef and Indian samosa. There are many others on the menu but they were out of most of them, so the choices were a little more limited. One person takes you order and the other person in the back seems to do all the prep work. I took almost 20 minutes to get what looked to be pre-made pastechi. However, they are good with a soft middle and a light crunch on the outside. The filling inside is very finely chopped meat. Because there isn't much filling, you should order more than what you think you need. I ordered three and probably could have eaten five more.

I was very, very excited to find this place after numerous recommendations from others, and, social media notoriety... I consider myself a "pro" when it comes to these dumpling shaped snacks... here in Aruba, they're called "pastechi" [pahs TEH chee], while in the Dominican Republic, they're called "pastelitos" or in Mexico, "empanadas" -- anyway you pronounce it, this place was suppose to be one of the best... it wasn't... lots of fanfare outside on the facade of the building, but the product was not impressive... a very small amount of ground beef (labeled "Angus steak") was surrounded by a large amount of pastry dough... the taste was bland... The crust did have a flakyness, but the really small amount of meat, the lack of cleanliness of the location, and the standoffishness of the older gentleman at the register, really let me down for a long awaited experience... Not tasty, the beef variety is pictured, price is very reasonable at around $2 USD a piece... One highlight is their bathroom is very clean and private... ask for the key... I included a lot of photos in anticipation of trying this product... .

As recommended by many you have to try pastechi when you are in Aruba, so we did. We went there to have them for breakfast as they don't qualify for a full lunch and are similar to pastries we have in Greece for breakfast. We got 4 types, cheese, ham and cheese, samosa and spanakopita and then a dedito which is basically similar to a mozzarella stick but feels "healthier" (not really just feels that way :p) from the pastechi, the samosa tasted more like a samosa but the spanakopita, while good, could not compare to a Greek spanakopita. It was good, just that it has to compare to a dish I know well. My favorite was the plain cheese one. Nice breakfast that was fast and cheap. Will definitely go back for another visit before we leave our vacation here.

Justo Justo Justo! What can I say about this place besides amazing? We had such a great experience here, every staff member was excellent and customer service was bar none. Justo especially, made us feel special and really made our last day. We had gone earlier in the week to try their crab cakes, as they are a favorite of mine. However, when we went they were out of them! The owner, Justo, heard that we were crab cake lovers and said he would make it up to us. Little did we know that we would get a thoughtful email detailing how he was able to get the ingredients, and told us to come back the next day to try them. Let me say it was well worth the wait! Justo went above and beyond to make us feel special, and the crab cakes were divine! We ate them while watching the sunset at Eagle Beach, and it was the perfect ending to our trip in Aruba. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STOP BY PASTECHI HOUSE! Thank you again, Justo.

Absolutely loved this place. Small, cute and welcoming. An extremely nice gentleman was taking orders. I absolutely loved their crab cakes. I had to keep going back for more! They have a few sauces I recommend. Their garlic, their hot and their curry, in that order. I also really enjoyed their beef croquette. Everything was perfect and affordable!

This place is absolutely delicious!! I initially ordered 2 beef Pastechi and 1 pinacolada smoothie. 2 mins later i came back and ordered more Beef Pastechi and Crabcakes. So delicious and fluffy. Very delicious snack and smoothie. They taste like empanada but more tasty and soft. Its also very very affordable. They make your Crabcakes to order and their Pastechi is hot and tastes fresh. Lastly the owners and staff are very friendly. A place you shouldn’t miss when in Aruba

They have a lot of different options, we tried 4 of them and liked the tuna the most. The dough is really tasty but they're not very stuffed. It's more like a quick bite and there a not enough seats. We found it a bit expensive for what you get and we weren't full.

Most of the food ordered during the day is not fresh made but kept warm from when baked. Prices were suspiciously whited out from the list, and we were asked to pay a price converted 1AWG : 1USD. Cancelled the order and moved away. Sad.

Food was good but small, not worth the price. AWG/USD conversion rate is really bad when compared to every other place. Please ask for the prices in advance (some are missing in their table) and pay in AWG. Won't go back.

The owner is so friendly and welcomes you in with open arms! We had to try a little of everything. So we had empanadas. Cheese, Ham and Cheese, Spanikopita, and Chicken. There where many others but those were the ones that we tried. They are very small but very filling and completely and utterly addictive. They also have a cheese stick that is wrapped in a light doughy pastry called a Derido, I think that's the name either way they are delicious. They have many other things on the menu including iced coffee they have soda pop as well as water and many other delicacies to try but that's what we ate and we loved them. Now the thing you have to know is that they have sauces that you can dip your empanada in. Their spicy sauce is really spicy and delicious, they have a honey mustard sauce, and they have what I would call a garlic ranch type sauce. just ask for a sample of each they come in small containers and that way you can see what you like for yourself. one thing that's very important is to note they only take cash. this is a definite stop when you're in Aruba. While you sit outside I hope you get to see the trolley because the trolley actually goes right in front of The Pastechi House!

Cash only (AFL and USD). It was ou first time eating Pastechi and we really enjoyed it. We took 4 different flavors which were all delicious, especially the Spanakopita and the Cod. Perfect for a snack to eat walking down Oranjestad, we also took two smoothies and ended up with a bill of less than 20 USD. The costumer service was excellent and super friendly. We will definitely go back next time we're in Oranjestad!

If you’re in the area The Pastechi House is a go to for affordable snacks. These mini pastries, reminiscent of empanadas, are stuffed with savory cheeses and meats. Perfect for a satisfying and wallet-friendly bite on the go! We tried the ham and cheese and cheese.

Affordable afternoon snack. It was nice to try some Aruban food. We got there in the early afternoon and they were out of most things though (red dot means they’re out). My favorite was the Shrimp and Ricotta Pastechi. Super hot and fresh! The Spanakopita and Ham and Cheese were good too.

This place was recommended by a lot of people and over hyped. In my opinion it’s okay it’s just basically empanadas nothing special or crazy. Not worth driving to you less passing by than sure try it.

  • 5/5 Anthony B. 3 years ago on Google
First of all, there is no better local snack than a pastechi, basically a pastry that you can get stuffed with a large selection of items from cheese, minced meat, vegetables, beef, etc. But the best part about The Pastechi House was the service. Staff was friendly and helpful in making selections. We had ordered several varieties and then sat outside to eat. One of our group thought they had ordered a beed pastechi but it wasn't actually on the order when we checked. One of the restaurant staff members felt sorry that our friend had missed out on a flavor so they brought him one as we were sitting outside and it was in the house. That was very classy. Ps: they also have wonderful shakes of your standard variety but also of exotic fruit.

Cash only, so come prepared. Great place to stop for a snack at an affordable price. Ordered the cheese pastechi, spanakopita pastechi, and the cheese ball, and all were great. Made to order so expect a bit of a wait. Owner was amicable! Both indoor and outdoor seating are available.

Very yummy pastechis! Tuna and chicken were great. Note: They were closed from 2-3pm which wasn’t noted online that I saw.

  • 1/5 Edwin V. 1 year ago on Google
We were surprised by the unfriendly welcome. We arrived 1.50pm and got disappointment right away. On a very unfriendly way we got kicked out and not served as they said they are closed between 2:00pm and 3.00pm. I noted to them that it is not 2pm but they didn't want to serve us. Apparently it is a lot of work to sell some pastechi's and a drink as it was clearly not 2pm when we asked for service. Also they have not listed anywhere that they are closed between 2 and 3pm, so don't trust the business hours they list and be prepared for some unfriendly way of telling you they don't serve you if they don't want to work.....

Unfortunately, we found this place on our way to the airport to go back home. The pastechis we tried were great. I got one beef and one fish. My wife got the chicken. Yes, they can be stuffed a bit more, but they were delicious. Don't expect to get great customer service, the gentlemen taking orders is VERY grumpy. However, this is a place to grab a pastechi and drink then head out, you won't have to deal with him for long. Will be visiting again.

Came here for the pastechi. Was trying to get food to take on the flight home. Food was ok, (at least what we can eat), because we didn't know that you can't bring beef or pork back to the States. The service was bad. They messed up the order for the people before us. I had ordered the iced frappe, but she brought out a hot coffee. I told her that I ordered the iced frappe, so she brought out a cup of ice and poured my coffee into it, then told me I had to pay $3 more for the frappe. What!? Tried to argue with her, but she didn't make sense. After 5 min. I gave up and just paid.

Had to experience this place based on recommendations from YouTube. Took the bus downtown, got lost for a little bit, but finally found it. Definitely worth it. I really thought the flaky crust and the crunch on the pastechi's here were a lot better than the few other places i tried them. Cheese and beef were my favorites.

  • 5/5 Megan W. 9 months ago on Google
An easy place to fall in love with pastechi, and little cheese balls. We really loved stopping by here, it was easy to order from and there is something for even the pickiest of eaters. It was really hot, so we ended up walking with our food, but it was great. The only downside for us was that it was cash only, and we unfortunately didn't have a ton with us - but luckily it's affordable food.

Pastechi are a must try in Aruba! It’s the country’s version of an empanada but the dough is a little sweet. The Pastechi House is located downtown within walking distance of the cruise ports and the Renaissance. It’s about an 8 minute drive from the airport. There’s many flavors to please everyone’s palate. Please do not leave Aruba without trying a pastechi.

Unexpectedly delicious! I understand why everyone recommends this place. It's the best in the area. I recommend you avoid the fancier and more expensive pastechi and go for the cheaper ones. They are the best! (Fun facts: The keri-keri one is delicious. The chop soy tastes like a spring roll. End fun facts) If your pastechi leaves you in doubt then you probably went next door and aren't eating a pastechi. I recommend that you put the perfume down and go get something that will taste as good as it smells 🙂

I loved the pastechis. But they didn't have a wide variety of products on the menu even though they still appear on the menu. The juice I ordered was made with artificial lemon which made me very sad. I LOVE the natural smoothies. As I love nature I love the pigeons at the entrance, but I don't know if they are to the liking of all their visitors, however, they are very friendly and they can also fly right up to you.

Not understanding how this place has the rating that it does. The food was not good and the ladies working were not friendly. We went to another Pastechi place, in Savaneta, and were blown away at their Pastechi’s. It’s called El Fresco Barber Lounge and they sell Pastechi’s through a window at the front. Way better than this place

Amazing Empanadas (and I’m from Puerto Rico)! Basically tried one of each and the croquettes, just as amazing. Bring it and you’re welcome!

Simply delicious! I tried the chicken and tuna pastechis and both are really good. Totally worth it!!

First, this was my tenth trip to Aruba and finally made it to the Pastechi House, I don’t understand what all the rave is about but this place is not what I thought it would be. I had a ham cheese and a beef Pastechi and they were not tasty and the filling was minimal. Also, they didn’t have what they offered on the menu . The place was run down and dirty and most of all the customer service was very poor. PS. If you like Pastechis I would recommend you get them at Wendy’s, they are baked and they taste great..
