My husband and I visited Aruba for our Honeymoon back in December 2020. Someone on the beach by our resort was selling horseback riding packages, so we decided to check it out and we were so happy we did! They arranged for someone to come pick us up at our resort, and drop us back off when we were done. We went on the most beautiful 2 hour private horseback riding tour that we will never forget at Rancho La Ponderosa. Everyone at the ranch was very nice and accommodating. Overall we had a great time, and saw the most beautiful views of Aruba, would highly recommend!

This morning ride was magnificent and the best 2 hours that I have spent on any vacation - EVER! My horse Chiquita was perfect for me as I am an advanced rider; a little feisty like I enjoy but fantastic! Even the beginners did great on their easy and sure footed horses! There were 2 wonderful guides, Pedro and Daniel, one in the back and one leading! The views are breathtaking and the beach ride was a huge OMG perfection! I still have chills remembering the views. Thank you to Rancho La Ponderosa for making amazing sweet memories for me on my vacation!!!

Great tour!! Beautiful views and super helpful and kind staff! They were very helpful with me as a beginner and we would definitely do it again. I felt safe the whole time even when the horse was running. They are very well trained horses and I could trust that the horse knew what he was doing and where he was going. The only downside was that it was kind of long for a beginner. 2 hours on a horse was super fun but felt a little long.

We had Pedro as our tour guide, he was great at handling our group and led us to stunning locations throughout the island. I highly recommend this ranch.

It was an amazing experience and one of the most enjoyable days I've had on horseback! There were a mixed group ranging from no riding experience to experienced and everyone had a great time. We followed the rugged terrain, desert-hills filled with cacti, and then a breathtaking coastline. The ocean waves striking the landscape. At the beach I enjoyed a short gallop ride close to the Natural Bridge. I was lucky enough to have a great guide Jesus who took tons of pictures and videos of this breathtaking panorama. Disappointing. The guide was on his phone the whole time. As beginning riders, we had questions about how to guide the horses, but the guide was unresponsive. When our seven-year-old’s horse started turning in quick circles, the guide was far ahead and didn’t notice. Sounds like this has been a nice experience for knowledgeable riders. As beginners with a checked-out guide, we did not feel safe.

We had a great experience touring the National park on horseback! The horses were well cared for and the scenery was beautiful. My horse was so sweet and spirited. My only recommendation would be to add a pit stop near the beach area to rest and enjoy the scenery even more (even for 15 minutes). Thanks! We'd come again.

When trying to decide between 2 ranches to ride with on the island, our concierge recommended Ponderosa describing them as "trustworthy" and I would agree! We were so happy with our experience, it was honestly the highlight of our honeymoon! If on your honeymoon, or not a fan of groups, I HIGHLY recommend a private tour. Our guide, Nestor, was amazing - told us so much about horses and the island and even taught my husband how to cantor for the first time! They let you pay with cash or card onsite and will pick up/drop off from hotels. I was amazed at how clean the bathrooms were, too! Our horses behaved extremely well and we felt comfortable the whole time. Incredible views plus we got to run on the beach and take pictures near a small natural bridge. Amazing excursion whether you have riding experience or not! Whatever you do though, WEAR LONG PANTS AND CLOSED TOE SHOES. You ride through a lot of rocky area and thick cacti/brush with thorns. You can jump in the ocean later to cool off - wear jeans!!

Great owners and great guides. Carmen and "Danny DeVito" are all about customer service. We rode on Nov. 11th after waiting for the rain to slow up. Good trail horses and if the guides see you can ride you'll have a little extra fun. Would recommend to beginners and experienced riders, and will go back on our next trip to Aruba. Chiquita reminded me of the horse I had 50 years ago, always wanted to be up front!

This is the place in Aruba for a great faster pace ride. You ride gaited Passo Fino horses that have a very comfortable trott and a smooth cantor. They have all levels of horses so even the 1st time riders on our tour did great. I was riding Picasso a 9 yo high spirited gelding so I was up front most of the ride with our lead guide Pedro. My girlfriend wanted a calmer ride so she was given a very responsive mare in her 20s named Chabalita. The horses go to their natural gaited trott right from the start. Being in front with Pedro and Frederico, who might have been the ranch owner, down by the baby bridge I got to gallop up a sand dune with them. On the return I had Picasso well enough in hand to stay back with Chabalita. It was the 4pm sunset ride so time being of essence it was a good paced trott and even cantering along the wider sections of the trail back to the ranch. I highly recommend La Ponderosa if you enjoy horses and riding while on vacation.

We had the best experience! I’ve never been on a horse before so I was a little nervous. However my horse was so good! We did a 2 hour tour and it was the perfect amount of time!!! Absolutely loved it!!!!!

Three of our group whilst on holiday in Aruba decided to go horse riding. We have varying levels of experience and all felt well cared for and given a horse suited to our abilities. Despite being in a storm we had an amazing time. For the beginner rider from our group pacing was fast so be aware before hand but we never felt unsafe! Always our go to ranch - we will be back again!

I've never ridden a horse prior to booking a guided tour as a cruise excursion so I was a bit nervous about doing this. I had such a great time I'm now looking for a place near home to ride again. Daniel was a wonderful guide, sorted us by beginners and experienced riders and matched us to horses with suitable temperaments. Gave us a quick but thorough overview of how to control the horse. Then we rode off through a desert trail and emerged out on a quiet coast with a little beach. Having been to only the touristy parts of Aruba, it was refreshing to see a side of it with no hotels or Tiki huts in sight. Horses are so well trained they're basically on autopilot. I never felt concern about controlling them as a true novice riderer. Tour was just about the right length for me at about 2 hours including training and saddling up. I was just about getting sore when we returned to the ranch. Thanks for the great ride!
