We rented a car and drove around the island. It’s safe to do so I say why not! We stopped here at Alta Vista Chapel and it’s so beautiful and peaceful a must see also buy coconut 🥥 or ice shaving from the vendors that are there we have to support the people of Aruba they are amazing!

This is part of the outback ATV tour with De Palm Island tours. It was interesting to learn about the religious history of the people of the island. It's a beautiful church as well as one of the oldest ones on the island. They also can have prayer services outdoors.

The oldest chapel on the island, this was originally built in 1750 and definitely worth seeing if you're up in this area. The grounds feature a zen garden of sorts, plenty of hiking trail entrances, and a small stand selling gifts & beverages, including fresh coconuts!

Lovely and charming. If having few minutes have a walk in cactus forests around the chapel.

Nice chapel. Very holy atmosphere. We’ll kept. The area surrounding was very cool to explore. Must see.

Nice reconstructed chapel (1952) on the site of the original chapel built around 1770. The chapel itself is active and maintained well. The seat surrounding the chapel itself is of a amphitheater seating in a concentric half circle. The is a small view of the coast when standing in the parking lot. The three vendors that sell refreshments and gifts have mobile card readers. Getting there is are 14 signs of the stations of the cross. This is a typical place for the tours around the island and is worthy of inclusion.

I've been wanting to visit the chapel since we started visiting the island years ago on cruises. The chapel is small and out of the way, but very peaceful. I love old churches and reading their history, Alto Vista did not disappoint. It's worth the stop, if for nothing more than to snap a few photos.

Very small, but quiet and quaint. Nicely decorated. Candles can be lit for those who wish. Free entry. Available on most Aruba island tours.

Great little church. No fee. A little piece of aruba history. Easy access. Quick stop to see church. Plenty of parking. Some local vendors are outside.

Very tranquil site with the first (oldest) Spanish pelgrims chapel in the Caribbean. Early scrolls are a must. Different easy hike trails are possible from the chapel, all are directed. Experience the dry and rugged North side of the island.

Beautiful sacred little chapel in the hills of Aruba. The path taken is marked with little white crosses with figures of saints in them. At the top of the hill you are blessed with a quaint little yellow chapel big enough to seat 40 ppl inside with prayer path behind it and views of the ocean all around. A must see!

Cool little historic site on a hill. you can get there by road or for the more adventurous traveler by atv or 4x4 truck ( highly recommended, we rented a Jeep Wrangler ) lots of open terrain and a hiking point , also behind the chapel is a Peace Labyrinth for meditation and reflection.

Peaceful. If we had church like this in the states maybe I would go. I am not a religious person. But can appreciate the location and the history of this. Beautiful.

Alto Vista Chapel is a small Catholic chapel also known as "Pilgrims Church" , You also find a Labyrinth, you must enter silently and they say that before going through it you must make a wish, if you manage to pass the labyrinth your wish will come true. It is a very spiritual place where you find an infinite peace.

It's a beautiful chapel. It's peaceful and tranquil. It is surrounded by a little cactus forest. Don't miss this place to visit when you're around. It's worth. Also there is a small stall outside for refreshing drink, watermelon and pineapple slices and mainly fresh coconut water. Also couple of stalls for souvenirs.

A very elegant beautiful chapel nestled on top of a mountain. Its beautiful inside and out but be respectful of cameras inside it's still a house of worship And meant to be cared about. I'd def say it has a wonderful view. We took a tourism bus the kuku kunuku up to see this and varying areas of the island. I am amazed at how serene and beautiful the chapel looked. Cacti surrounds it and the road to it was rocky but when you look at it and see it you will be wowed at its beauty. Smallish yes but still the location and the look make it worthy of a stop if on the island. Would love to see it again someday. Def a meaningful visit

Feels very reverent. A quaint chapel on a hill beautifully decorated with flowers. You're allowed to light a candle if you wish. Must visit

We stopped here from the Island Safari Jeep tour, didn't enter the chapel but walked around the biking trail surrounded by giant cacti. Would have been a nice walk but weather was too hot. There was a drink stall selling coconut water and icy drinks.

Beautiful small church with a great history. I loved the tour guide because he explained the history of the church and area. He also explained that it is disrespectful to enter the church inappropriately dressed.

Very beautiful chapel. You can feel God's presence and just how sacred it is by standing in the doorway. Worth the trip!

Visit this place if you choose to go off road through the desert. I recommend hire a jeep then drive to the light house first near there you will see the entrance of track and stay right if you can and youl find the church once you've been here go on the the desert next stop gold mine ruins the natural bridge.

A beautiful serene place . A spiritual spot to get connected within. Take your time to walk through the labyrinth. Take your time to sit and feel the energy.

Locals have a Wednesday mass here. So it's still a functional church, but it is revered more as a historical and tourist site. It sits atop a mountain with grand views of the surrounding arid desert. There are no restrooms here. We visited with a safari tour as one of our stops. There were a couple of vendors on site selling souvenirs, food, and drinks. The whole family can enjoy this area. There's also a billboard showing a map with trails from this point. Keep in mind there's not a lot of shade here.

Tiny cute chapel, not the best view but great for a quick prayer and learning more about Aruba’s history, something I would definitely recommend after the Archeological museum to come already with some knowledge of the island’s history if you don’t know any!

The drive to the chapel is a paved road and it is a very easy to get to. There are a number of hiking paths both in the brush and along the beach. Lots of wildlife and scenic views. I would suggest visiting at dawn or dusk to avoid the heat of the day.

A small Catholic chapel in Aruba with an ocean view thats surrounded by fields of cactus. We went there around 7am, the doors were open and locals were stopping in for a quick prayer. The grounds seem to be guarded by a bunch of free range dogs but they paid no attention to us or anyone else.

Very good place to visit. There's an energy there that makes you feel grounded and calm. I'd visit again just for the ambiance.

Ppl were actually praying inside. Visitors not locals. Quite small. Outside of the Stone benches arrangement there were three four five vendors selling souvenirs and water. I bought a t-shirt in rosary like beaded necklace .

Said to be located on the spot where the conversion of the Aruban natives to Christianity began, Alto Vista Chapel is a small, inconspicuous affair, set on a rise overlooking the island's eastern coast. That said, it's a busy kind of place that sees a constant stream of worshippers arrive throughout the day. This is also a great location to take sunrise photos, should you be so inclined.

Beautiful place with lots of history. It was rebuilt and serves the island for major holidays. Definitely worth stopping and enjoying! Some locals had set up touristy sales tables if you're into that as well.

The Arubans must be blessed to worship at such a Chapel. And everyone maintains strict COVID precautions even with outside seating. No wonder Natalee Holloway’s mother and I found peace here. May it also offer safety and peace to many other Americans. Hooah & Amen!
