Total Scam!! Stay Away!! Xavier School (Not University! “As it does not have other accredited courses running”, is a complete and utter scam. The owner of the school is an utterly despicable money hungry tyrant that is exploiting students that want to get into medical school and practice in the USA. The president as he calls himself, is a non-medical trained individual and is purely a businessman that runs the school as such. The school makes false promises on its website that the majority of students that take the step pass!! This is extremely misleading and incorrect. The information that is shown, is an inverse score meaning the only the very highest scorers are allowed to even attempt the step and thus if 5 hand-picked students are put forward and 4 pass the school fudges the maths to show a reasonable percentage pass on attempt. The overall managerial structure of the school is a total joke with a chief academic officer (CAO), sitting in his office all day and doing noting while faculty do whatever they like in relation to teaching. The CAOs wife is an instructor whom has constant complaints from students put forward due to the fact that she is rude and unprofessional. Alas absolutely no action is ever taken due to that fact that she is a put-up as her husband is the (CAO). The school is clearly also involved with all kinds of shady activities as the IT support guy constantly shouts at students and has been shown to actively look through emails of staff and students alike. Again the IT guy, also has constant complaints made against him to the (CAO) but who only knows what he has on him! As nothing is ever done to combat the problem. The MD course itself is the most disorganised and poorly managed curriculum that I have ever seen and indeed fellow students have made the same comment. The curriculum is a systems based curriculum that the school hails as DYNAMIC which in reality is chaotically run by a bunch of Indian trained instructors that have absolutely no idea about the expectation of the American curriculum. In fact, not one single faculty member teaching in the Aruba campus is eligible or has practised as a physician in the USA “That really says it all to be honest” The time-tables for students changes on a weekly basis and there is absolutely no continuity between the teaching subjects and faculty. The faculty are almost completely Indian with little or no teaching experience and with little or no comprehension of the English language. Many of the professors are completely nonsensical with students often not understanding a single word from the so called subject expert. Again this is constantly brought before management with no action ever being taken. Most recently the school attempted to launch a nursing degree program. Within weeks of the program being launched the majority of the students left as it is unaccredited and has no chance of American accreditation. The dean of the nursing school also again has absolutely no clinical, nursing or medical training and holds a PHD in physiology which within any American school would certainly not be acceptable to manage a nursing course. All in all, the school is an expensive rip-off and is scamming students of thousands and thousands of dollars selling a dream that’s is completely unattainable at this institution. Please read and heed this warning.

A lot of the 5 star reviews from the people you see are people that in fact did succeed and make it. However, keep in mind, they earned it through their own hard work and most had to teach themselves in order to be prepared for the board exams. Not sure why they felt obliged or pressured to write a 5 star review. The vast majority of students are stuck in limbo. The school does not adequately prepare one for USMLE. If that were the case, it wouldn't take students 1-4 years to finally be able to sit for the exam. A lot more students would be able to pass. And no, it does not mean the ones who do not pass ASAP are not hardworking or smart. Professors will be fired or leave abruptly in the middle of the semester, you will be left without a professor in a whole subject. You are expected to learn medicine on your own, which is fine, since it seems you can depend on yourself more than the school. Another sickening thing about this school is how they scam people and are money hungry. There's mold and cockroaches all over the school for years, it's shameful that they make students pay so much. Not sure if it is still there, but they have the same cadaver that is soaked in formaldehyde for the past 10 years.

Just to prove that this school is money hungry just like how every other student stated already, is that I was a student of theirs at there istanbul campus (for a term before it was impossible to continue) and they refused to provide me a proof of enrolment so it would be possible to apply for osap (Canadian federal school funds) !! And said they can’t offer me this letter unless Im a student of their Aruba campus !!! It made me question if their Istanbul campus if approved by the main campus and if it was legit and their answer was yes it was legit and approved but they still won’t offer me the letter !!! The only explanation of that was that there was inner agenda and competition between the campuses of teh same university !!! (Which is something i first come across) and that each campus wanted me attending there location so that they can won my money !! So aruba won’t offer me the letter until i attend their location and Istanbul won’t offer me the letter reasoning that aruba was the main campus and had to approve it (and was also scared that the funds of the osap would take longer than they can wait for when they wanted their money immediately and on the spot !!) it was messed up, the Istanbul campus was nothing but only one room rented out of another Turkish university (that was the case for the entire 1st 2 yrs) pictures and ads were so misleading and made me relocate from Canada to Istanbul, Turkey for nothing

The financial department is committing crime! You are illegal to collect the immigration fee which should be collected by Netherlands Embassy! My child didn’t go to Aruba and didn’t proceed the student permit and visa procedure. They rejected refund the immigration fee although they promised to refund it several days ago. They are liars! This fee i was told should be paid to Netherlands Embassy. I didn't start this procedure, so this fee didn't transfer to Embassy, you must refund to me! this money never belong to you!

The student financial department representative was really fraudulent, he promised me that he would refund my son the immigration fee $1800 in 3-5 business days. Yesterday my son called him, but he denied what he said several days ago and rudely reject to refund it. It is totally a liar and robber! Shame on you! A private school, for just $1800, it can be unexpectedly barefaced like this! What a shame!

I went to Xavier as a medical student from 09/2016-11/2020 and my entire experience has been excellent. The basic sciences curriculum is so well taught by highly trained doctors who have such great depth of knowledge. These doctor always went out of their way to make sure that each and every student in the class has mastered the concept and even offered to stay back after lecture was over to clarify any questions we may have. Basic sciences is taught in such a way that we cover all the high yield concepts needed to do well on USMLE step 1 and ultimately bridge way onto USMLE step 2ck. The NBME exams we do after every system is an excellent prep for the USMLE exam as well. Dr. Neelam teaches the pathophysiology subject in such great depth and really makes it easy to grasp the concept. She also does a fabulous job in getting us ready for OSCE which is one of the reasons why Xavier students never struggle with physical examinations for their patients and note writing. The clinical curriculum is set up in a wide array of hospitals in various states where we get the necessary experience needed to ultimately help us succeed and get us ready for residency. My overall experience at Xavier has been extremely positive and I would recommend anyone thinking of going to a Caribbean medical school to consider Xavier as a medical school which is right for them. Their new campus is truly well designed, is so accommodating, and is very very identical to how American medical school campuses are.

I first found out about the Xavier program from a good friend who had a positive experience with faculty and alumni. I had the opportunity to apply to this program and was greeted with the most friendly, professional and loving staff. Application and interview process were quick, smooth, efficient and transparent. I was guided every step of the way especially with the help of the director of admissions Michael Neely who kept in constant contact with me and responded in a timely manner with all my concerns, big or small. From my experience, I strongly feel the program values genuine individuals with personality who just want an opportunity to live their dream. The high residency match rate and positive feedback from students and alumni are a testament to the exceptional values of Xavier and I encourage anyone to apply. Please do not hesitate to contact me as well if you have any questions about the application or interview process, I can direct you to Michael as well.

I attended Xavier University in Aruba, and felt I received a great opportunity to build my future. They provided the tools I needed to move forward with my career and succeed in Medicine. Since my time there, they have built a beautiful campus for housing that we recently visited and saw. Aruba is a beautiful and safe island to live on, and the rotations afterwards helped me make life long connections with my attendings and peers.

I am currently a second semester (MD2) student at Xavier University School of Medicine (XUSOM). My decision to apply to XUSOM was based on the information posted on their website such as small class size, low tuition rate, a system organ-based integrated curriculum, and of course, the school being accredited etc… Well, I am very glad that I made the final decision to attend XUSOM because, in addition to all the things I stated above, the staff and faculty members are really there to help and assure each student’s success. It is no doubt that medical school is difficult because I believe that is the nature of it and there is no other way around- But one thing that makes me very happy with being at XUSOM is the fact that the staffs and faculty body creates an environment that is student friendly and where any student who wants and works hard can thrive and succeed. The school has build a new housing campus for students where I am currently living and I could not have asked for anything better. I love Aruba. The island is nice, fun, and the people are very kind. So, If you are considering going to med school in the Caribbean and wondering which school you should consider, come to XUSOM and you will not regret it.

I have met a wide variety of people here of all ages and backgrounds that has really helped me understand the importance of being happy and doing things at your own pace in life. It has helped me cultivate a sense of surrounding myself with a good community in order to mutually benefit from each other. While medical school can be hard, the island offers many different forms of stress relief, and the beach is right around the corner.

I have been a student of Xavier University School of Medicine both online, during the covid crisis, and physically at their campus on the Dutch island of Aruba. I can honestly say that this university is not only a temple of medical knowledge, but it is a haven for those who seek an honest and true education. There are multiple resources for students, and the faculty are quite simply some of the most brilliant professors I have had the pleasure of meeting. Their styles of teaching are personal yet progressive and sensible. This institution does not falsely advertise, nor do they keep any of their methods secretive. This is a wonderful place to complete your time in a classroom before entering the real world of medicine as a physician. I would not want to be anywhere else!

Great school, great staff, and great rotation placements! The academic advisors went above and beyond to help accommodate your individual needs. The staff was easily contactable, and prompt with their responses. The school had rotations placed in great teaching hospitals in New York. Definitely recommend choosing Xavier!

Quite recently I started my blended wonderment and support of where Xavier University School of medicine Aruba will be in the following couple of years. Truly, I enormously commend the courageous students that have successfully graduated through the rigorous program and current student like myself that have grown confidence under the platform of great doctors. I cannot stress it enough, the passion and interest all the professors have on their students. I believe student doctor and physician should be caring; as I previously suggested, not about the mechanism of a particular disease rather about human host. The care and love I have received from the day one I spoke with the admission officer named Mr. Michael Neely prepared my psyche to the most extreme conviction that this is the perfect place to study medicine. Howerver, humanness is an enchantment in the medical procedure of any great doctor. From the principal look of the specialist who I think can recuperate me, to the second glance he gives while educating me regarding the issues with my sinking wellbeing settles my on-going achievement that Xavier University School of medicine Aruba has abundance of information that every medical student required to survive medical school, Clinical rotation and beyond.

I came to XUSOM as a clinical transfer student and had a great experience during my clinical rotations. The administration and faculty were extremely supportive throughout my time as a student and easily accessible if/when needed. Each rotation equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to feel prepared for day one of residency. Thanks to the quality education and training providing by XUSOM, I was able to match into my specialty of choice. Xavier comes highly recommended!

My name is Rami Sakaan MD PGY3, in internal medicine. I did my Med school in XUSOM, I started in 2014 and graduated in 2018, I matched to residency in 2019. I enjoyed my journey In XUSOM, as we all were as a family, starting from Aruba, then during my clinical rotations, until I matched into residency. Xusom will help you reach your goals, if you are ready to work hard to reach your goals.

I graduated from XUSOM in 2013. The education I received there prepared me well for my USMLE exams - which allowed me to enter residency. I am now a practicing physician. While XUSOM started off as a small school, the changes and advancements made over the past decade have put XUSOM on the map! XUSOM medical students are popping up in residencies across the country, and XUSOM is becoming a known entity in the medical community. Would highly recommend to those interested in receiving a degree in medicine while also living in Aruba -- "One Happy Island"!
