The Jolly Pirates Snorkeling tour was the highlight of our honeymoon trip to Aruba. My wife and I almost didn't book the tour because I have this phobia of the ocean, but I am SO glad she convinced me to do it. They took us to three different areas to snorkel. The first was deeper water (60-70ft) over a shipwreck. The additional locations were 10-12ft deep around coral reefs with tons of fish and sea turtles. The snorkeling was fantastic, but the crew is really what makes the tour such an amazing experience. They are all so funny, kind, and wanting to make the experience memorable for all of their guests. We had such a great time interacting with the crew and of course drinking the "pirate poison."

The experience was great!!! The crew members were very welcoming with us. The entertainment for the kids and parents was great. They took their time to explain everything to my kids. Definitely a great adventure if you decide to come to Aruba with your family. 4 fun hours on amazing views…

This cruise was a lot of fun. We were a group of 6 ranging in age from 13 to 40. The crew members were so much fun, helpful, polite, and knowledgeable. If you are having reservations about it, don’t. You will absolutely have a good time. Highlights: 1. My wife saw sea turtles. 2. My kids (13 and 16) loved the rope swing. 3. Our twins (20) enjoyed the drinks and the atmosphere. 4. For me it was snorkeling the Antilla Ship Wreck. We all enjoyed the lunch provided… it was delicious! If we found ourselves in Aruba again I don’t think we would hesitate to book this for a second time. Book with confidence, you will have a blast!

To get things started, I rented a car and parked it at the Moomba Beach parking lot. The parking is free here. Good info to know before you go. I printed my ticket from Trip Advisor, but you HAVE TO GO INSIDE TO EXCHANGE IT for one of the RED boarding tickets. You also have to sign an electronic waiver. They are pretty prompt when it comes to getting the party started. Depending on how early you arrive, you can expect up to a 30 minute wait for someone to come get you to take you out to a motor boat which then transfers you to the main Pirate boat. You board and that’s when the party starts. The music starts playing and the party starts at 9AM here when it comes to drinking. The drinks are unlimited. They do close the bar at certain, short intervals to prep you for the snorkeling and to distribute the BBQ lunch that is included. Life vests and snorkeling equipment are available for your use and convenience. They take you to three snorkel spots, the 1st one being where the SS Antilla shipwreck is located. The current was strong here at the time and I was not able to get pics of it, but still enjoyed the experience. The next two places were more shallow snorkeling spots that had a variety of fish species and to swing and jump off the boat using the rope. After that it’s lunch time. They served us some nice BBQ ribs, chicken and rice. It was quite delectable. So my compliments to the chef in the galley. The lunch was delicious. As for the bar, I'm not that much of a drinker, but the Pirate’s poison drink was very good. They also had water and a kid friendly fruit punch. I really didn't taste the alcohol in it. Understandable since we were snorkeling. A wonderful experience if you have elderly folks or kids and if you just want the cruising and lunch experience. All in all I would definitely do this tour again. So with that said, Drink Up Me hearties YO HO!

This was honestly one of the highlights of our trip to Aruba. The boat is so cool looking, the crew were AMAZING, and the fun was just unmatched! This is the must do excursion in Aruba. We went to there different snorkeling spots, one of them in deep water with views of a sunken ship and the other two in more shallow water with a lot of wildlife to see including turtles! They prepare awesome drinks for you, a wonderful meal that's picked up while at one of the locations, and a great party atmosphere. Jumping from the ship and swimming with the wildlife is so fun, but can't be topped by the swing rope you can take off the side of the ship! Very reasonably priced in my opinion and well worth the money.

For the price it was worth every penny!! 3 hours on the water! Beautiful view and great staff! It is definitely for the young at heart with the amazing DJ and music!!! The snorkeling is an experience I won’t ever forget! The alcohol was ok. They could have provided like chips or something to go with the drinks. Overall we had a blast!!

A can't miss if you visit Aruba and the best way to experience an Arubian sunset and a perfect family experience. Where do I start? The staff is so fun, friendly and kind! The drinks are well, what every sunset needs, unlimited and tasty! We took our teen son along and he had as much fun as we did. What we did not realize is that we should have worn our swimsuits for the cove where they jumping swing was going to happen, but we were not the only ones not flying in the air into the water! So it did not matter. What fun and we missed that part, but I had booked this too fast and didn't read other than SUNSET. The music was bumping, the scenery was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C like a travel writers dream scene. You don't have to be good with a camera to get great shots. Tip: you won't be wearing shoes aboard, so take the easiest slip ons you own for faster boarding and docking and then no need to go find your shoes in piles that are placed upon docking. Fairly priced, great length of cruise (just long enough) and lots of fun people to mix up with and meet! We did have to leave from where we were staying almost an hour + to make sure we made it with traffic because it will sail without you! Can't wait to go again, and this time with a bathing suit. Don't hesistate book it, and you will see how popular it is! What fun.

We had a blast. Best tour guides ever! They made tasty drinks and the stops for snorkeling. Finished the day with a chicken, corn and fruit lunch. PS drink tons of water while drinking their crazy pirate drinks or you'll end up over board.

This is a great little 4-hour trip. They do pack the boat with tons of people but they offer an open bar you get to snorkel at three different locations. One of them is a world war II shipwreck and then at the end you get to use the rope swing and just hang out in the beautiful Aruban Waters. The staff is excellent and very friendly highly recommend doing this.

Jose and the crew were awesome. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and they made us feel just liked family and talked to us by name. We got to see two shipwrecks and all the fish. Not to mention swing and jump off the pirate ship! Bbq lunch was an added bonus. Loved the whole thing!

Captain Jose and his crew were great! They provided lots of energy and entertainment. Very friendly with the guests and brought out the laughs. Overall a great tour. Three snorkeling stops about 25 mins each and time to swim or try your turn on the boat swing. The first stop not a lot of fish or things to see the day I went, not sure if that’s typical. But if you are like me and don’t love snorkeling , the I would wait to go on the second and third stops. The second is the shipwreck which is cool with much more fish to see and the third which is closer to the rock (also more likely to see sea turtles). Bar opens right away so make sure you eat first (especially for the morning tour) because there is nothing to eat until lunch. The BBQ wasn’t great so be mindful. But overall I would recommend Jolly Pirates.

First time in Aruba and Jolly Pirate was recommended several times and now I understand why. The crew is fantastic! We did the morning snorkeling excursion. I will say the first stop at the sunken ship is not for the average swimmer. Personally you can skip the first stop if you’re not a strong swimmer (many did on our trip) and you will still get every penny worth. The food was great and the rope swing a blast. This will definitely be on our list again when we come back.

I can’t believe the quality and fun of this trip from start to finish. It was worth every Penny just to have a boat ride, let alone open bar, snorkeling, and jumping from the rope. Come early to make sure you’re properly checked in and enjoy every minute. I know we did 👍 Just FYI for Covid-19. The shuttle boat to the ship is a bit crowded so bring your mask if you’re concerned. The pirate ship has way more space so you should be set

“Are you ready to get drunk?” Is the first question they ask and they aren’t kidding. They have an open bar on the boat and the drinks don’t taste like alcohol so beware. The crew is friendly aside from one guy that looks like he hates his job, but wasn’t enough to ruin the amazing sunset. The rope swing was super fun and highly recommend this experience.

Great for hours on the high season with snorkeling and the famous rope swing. Sea turtles and many more sea life was visible while snorkeling. The day we went up was a bit choppy at the wreck. Take your sun cream. Food was OK. Chicken leg and rice with some fruit and slaw. Drinks were amazing. On tap and free. But don't drink too much sea and alcohol does not mix. The team were great. Made sure everyone was having a good time. Parking was free. Get early.

We booked the afternoon excursion on the Jolly Pirate. We recommend staying near check-in because we were told to wait in the bar and no one came to get us-we just saw a group heading out to the dock. But, everything else went smoothly. We had so much fun! The shop staff were great - helpful, kind, and added to the fun. My husband snorkeled and saw a sea turtle. The rope swing was fun, too. Everyone had several chances to swing. Drinks were decent. Nothing high end but they were generous enough lol. Definitely recommend!!

We had a really fun time on the 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. trip. (It takes awhile before you're actually headed out on the pirate ship though. They need everybody there and then pack you onto a small boat to take you out to the ship from the dock.) The only real negative was that there were 65 people on our ship, which was FULL capacity over New Year's. Maybe it's not quite as busy at other times. But they definitely pack you on to get as much $$ as possible. That said, it was a really fun activity and the guys who worked the boat were really friendly and funny. (They definitely work hard for your tips.) We had a chance to snorkel at three different locations, one of which was particularly beautiful (pic). It was kind of interesting to snorkel over the Antilla shipwreck, but it's pretty far down so you don't see it very clearly from the surface and even holding your breath diving down that far is pretty tough. We saw a sea turtle there. They have an open bar with lots of rum punch if that's your jam. We aren't drinkers but they did offer juice or sodas too. If you plan to take kids, be prepared to see some of your fellow passengers get pretty inebriated and possibly make fools of themselves ... for whatever that's worth. It's kind of a party atmosphere with music and stuff. The rope swing at the end was pretty fun.

My family and I really enjoyed this cruise. We went in celebration of my uncle's birthday. The crew was friendly and entertaining. The snorkeling equipment was clean. Safety precautions were followed to ensure a great time was had by all. There wasn't any food provided, so plan accordingly.

Not our first time, and not our last! We love this trip! It's the perfect amount of time so it doesn't take up the whole day. The crew is the BEST! My 5 year old was the only kid on there and they treated her so well. Fed the fishes with her. She loved it. They do a fantastic job every time we go!

We went here the second day of our honeymoon and had a blast! It’s around a 4-hour trip. They have an open bar with yummy drinks and you get to snorkel at three different locations in the Caribbean ocean. At the end you get to use the rope swing off the boat into the water and it’s so fun. The staff is so nice and entertaining. The music is great, the staff is super fun and friendly…highly recommend doing this on your Aruba trip. They are true entertainers too…the main guy swung on the rope swing & did backflips into the water with girls on his back & climbed up the rope…so crazy! It was a blast…do it!

They were amazing! Even though it was a day that was raining on and off, I felt like they made it safe enough to snorkel. The rope swing was really fun. the bbq for lunch was super filling. The crew were amazing and will definitely recommend them to any of my friends when they’re in Aruba.

This is one of the best excursion you can book, it's for all ages. We booked the afternoon trip and went to two different spot. Open bar for adults, the whole crew was very entertaining and no dull moments. Rope swing was the best part even for the kids. Make sure you try the pirate poison but drink in moderation. Literally one of the participant fell in the water while walking back at the dock, we believe it's the after effect of the pirate poison. Lol

  • 5/5 Darcy M. 2 years ago on Google
Great experience! The open bar is definitely a plus! Water is a bit rough in some places so do not be afraid to wear the life jacket and flippers while snorkeling. Saw a sea turtle, and had fun on the rope swing!

We took the 9:00am-1:00pm Sail, Swim and Snorkel Cruise on Saturday, December 30, 2023. The crew was great, friendly and lots of fun. They were very efficient when it came to serving lunch, which was very good. I enjoyed snorkeling in the different locations and when it came time to jump off the plank, I had a blast. You need a lot of upper body strength to swing off of the rope, which I didn't have, but I tried it anyway. If you are in Aruba and you love the water, I highly recommend this cruise. It was a great way to spend the morning. If I ever visit Aruba again, which I hope to do, I would definitely take this cruise again.

We took an afternoon trip. Staff and crew were amazing and fun. Snorkeled for the first time ever, great experience. The waters were a little rough at the first spot so it was a little harder (for a beginner) so we didn't see the shipwreck. The second site was calmer and was great. We didn't do the rope swing but watched everyone try it that was a blast. I will do this again and highly recommend, even for beginners!

Super fun my Mom husband and I did the afternoon tour that started at 2pm. Captain and crew were great! Stopped at the Antilles cargo ship wreck, snorkeled and had a blast on the rope swing probably swung on it 10 times! Loved it

Loved our experience on the Jolly Pirates! I had been before over a decade ago and knew it was a must for our recent trip. We did the "Sail, Snorkel, Swim, & Swing" trip that left at 9am and got to go to all three snorkel sites and had BBQ chicken and rice lunch on board. The staff are so friendly and fun, the snorkeling sites are great, and make sure you try out the rope swing!

We had a great time on the sunset cruise. They served unlimited soft drinks, pirate's poison, & Rum punch with a few other mixed drink options. They stopped off for time on the rope swing, which everyone had a blast doing. The views of the sunset were beautiful. The boat crew were wonderful & attentive.

  • 5/5 C F (. 7 months ago on Google
My wife and I absolutely loved the sunset sail! The crew were fun, lively and kept everyone entertained the entire two hours. Plus the drinks were great and at $40 a person it’s a steal for the experience you get to have.

Very fun boat cruise! Played great music, rope swing was a blast, great drinks (in true pirate fashion, mostly serving rum drinks… highly recommend the “Pirate’s Poison” 🏴‍☠️🍹), very family-friendly. The crew did an awesome job making sure everyone was taken care of and having a great time. The snorkeling was some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Unfortunately, the water was a little cloudy at the sunken Antillas ship so we weren’t able to see more than just a few feet down, but the second location more than made up for it. Great coral reefs, tons of fish, and we got to see not 1, but 2 beautiful sea turtles having their lunch and coming up to the surface for a breather. It was stunning to watch and an experience we’ll remember and cherish forever.

What a cool, fun and great experience!! The whole crew was amazing! The water was so beautiful and calm. If you are worried about being a first timer - this is your sign DON’T BE!! Everyone takes their time and it’s very relaxing and just the best time. You get taken to three different spots and you get lunch! Don’t forget the delicious alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Moomba beach is so beautiful, take lots of pics and enjoy! Thank you Johnny, Jose and crew arghhhhhhhhh 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

We had the best time! The crew on boat two was amazing they were entertaining and very helpful. Food was good and a lot. The snorkeling was fantastic and the water is so clear. Yeah we had a blast. The bartender on board was so funny. He had everyone laughing. Mainly everyone was old enough to drink on aboard, but not everyone did (myself included) and still had a blast. Music playing. Snorkeling a wW2 ship. Great time!

  • 5/5 Monica B. 7 months ago on Google
It was such a fun ride! Drinks, food, sun what more could you want!? I swam through thousands of tiny fish, it was so amazing and surreal I felt like I was on National Geographic haha! Seeing the ship wreck was also really cool. The rope swing was also really fun. Make sure to bring sun glasses, hat and plenty of reef safe sunblock, towels and a yeti cup to keep your drinks from melting in 2 minutes lol. I also saw some people bring small coolers and thats an idea I may snag on my next visit. The guides on the boat are top tier and will make sure you are safe and having a blast! 100% don’t miss this experience with Jolly Pirates and remember to show love and bring cash for a tips for the bartender and crew!
