suuuper cute store. with that being said, the owner is abrasive and rude. he was extremely condescending towards me. this is my first time in downtown Glen Ellyn and my first time visiting this shop. i didn’t see the sign on his door regarding the “no photography” policy, and when i was about to take a picture, he said “Oh honey you can’t take pictures here, hence the massive sign on the door” in blatantly condescending tone. when i started asking him questions about his store, specifically “Are you the owner?” and “How long have you been here?” he begrudgingly answered them and commented, “lots of questions coming from you.” AFTER I ASKED 2 QUESTIONS!!! as i left, i told him to have a nice rest of his day he said “likewise.” in a flat tone. i’m not stupid. i’ve been working in retail for about a year now and i know exactly what that attitude meant. maybe he was having a bad day, but i’m only 19 and i genuinely dont know what i did to deserve that kind of treatment while i was actually trying to appreciate his shop.

The Gnome Colony exudes whimsy and wonder. Get transformed the moment you step over the threshold. The most beautiful energy and lovely scents dance in the air as you peruse the shop. You will be engulfed in such a loving atmosphere full of beauty and mystery. Whether you like custom artwork or dazzling accessories, perhaps it's a charming shawl or a thought-provoking magnet, you will be sure to find many somethings for those amazing women in your life. Even if just to pamper yourself, and believe me.. I know from experience, you will wish you had stopped in sooner! My only warning is that time may stop when you are in the shop, which makes me a bit giddy. You are guaranteed to leave the store feeling light and full of joy. Love this store! The owner is so kind and I love their mascara and lip gloss! The store is beautiful and whimsical. You feel like you are stepping into little secret caves of beauty and wonderful vibes. You must stop in if you are in the area.

This shop is phenomenal! Going into his shop felt like literally walking into Disney. It was so welcoming and magical and he had so many amazing treasures to find. My husband, who usually likes to stay outside while I shop, found himself perusing the shop with the same interest and awe I had. I only came in to look and ended up leaving with the most amazing and unexpected finds! Not only are the items incredibly beautiful and one of a kind, Michael, the store owner, is a beautiful soul and so absolutely helpful and welcoming. He is also incredibly creative and a many of many talents as Periche is his own brand and has gorgeous scents and makeup palettes. Overall, a gem of a find! I will definitely be coming back for the magic and unique, great quality accessories. I attached a picture of my new earrings and inside the shop :)

I can barely describe this place as a store--it's an experience. There was ambient music playing, trinkets and wares everywhere to discover and marvel at, and ornate decorations all around the store that pulled you in. The longer I looked the more I saw, and all of it was beautiful. I felt like I was on an adventure as I explored the store and took in what it had to offer, and after leaving I felt refreshed and fulfilled. It's easy to admire the trinkets without distractions and connect with them and consider what they mean to ME and what draws me to them. Michael was warm, welcoming, and a joy to chat with! He has clearly invested his heart and soul into this facility, and I'm thankful I stopped by!

*~Magical and whimsical~* My best friend had been telling me about Gnome Colony for awhile so I finally finally went. It was a stormy Saturday afternoon when we arrived. After being poured on a bit walking from the car we entered this beautiful space. It really takes you out of your element. You feel like you stepped into a mythical fairy world with all different types of treasures to discover. I highly recommend if you're having a bad day just walk in there. Almost instantly it will brighten your mood with all the trinkets and beauty surrounding you. I was overwhelmed but in the best way by everything in the store. We were given a warm welcome by the owner Michael Perich. I walked through the entire place trying to look at everything but there is just so much I'm sure I'll go back and notice things I missed before. The attention to detail is just amazing. I love how wonderfully everything in there flows together. I have never been so taken back by a store before. After looking around I got drawn to the fragrances which Michael was so kind showing me scents I would like till I found the 2 that spoke to me. There is literally something for everyone there. I can't wait to go back! Thank you Michael you were so wonderful. I really needed that experience ☺️

Like walking into a work of art. Every single detail to this place is absolutely beautiful, even down to the packaging at check-out. The shop owner is an incredibly kind soul as well. Can't wait to come back again !
