My wife and I stopped by for a late lunch the other day. Even though we live very nearby, for one reason or another we've never tried the Tipico. We've been missing out on a local gem, all this time. What a cool place. It may be the smallest restaurant I've ever seen, but that's not a bad thing. The bathroom, (only one) is a little odd, but nicely decorated, neat and clean. We had a ton of questions about the menu but our server was very patient and answered all of them with ease. The food was delicious, the portions generous and the prices reasonable. And, the wine we had with our meal didn't jack the tab out of orbit, either. What more do you want? We left with a full tummy, leftovers for later and a smile. We'll be back.

This place deserves way more attention. I love the food here, it never disappoints! The food reminds me of my mom's own cooking, and it makes me happy. I got the lechon asado, which I recommend to anyone who loves pork dishes. I would give it five stars, however, the last time we were there, my food wasn't hot. It was more lukewarm. The only thing that made me subtract a star. Otherwise, incredibly friendly owners and staff, and yummy Dominican food!

Amazing authentic Dominican Republic food. This is a family owned and operated spot which shows in the food quality. Just amazing! We will be back, on the regular!

My family and I went to eat lunch at this authentic latin restaurant and were very happy with the food. We had their Baleadas, Steak & Chicken Tacos, Pupusas, Arepa, Chicken Quesadillas and Steak dinner. Make sure you go with plenty of time if you go in a big group, they make everything fresh. We tried their natural juices, Mango & Maracuya and really enjoyed the taste.

Food was very good. Bit of a wait but they make everything from scratch. Service not very good. Non attentive. She was too busy socializing with friends instead of servicing customers properly and attentively.

Típico Café Latino (Típico Latino Restaurant), 566 Barton Boulevard, Rockledge, Florida- 5-Stars Although the Hispanic population in Brevard County as of 2022 is a mere 11.6%, their restaurants must make up 35% of the restaurant inventory. Now that I have dined at so many Latin establishments, I feel I am starting to discern the good, the bad, and the horrific. Recently I found myself in Rockledge walking into the unassuming Tipico Café Latino. The place didn't look like much to me at first, and since the most obvious definition of "típico" in English means "typical," I was concerned. Later when I found out that "típico" when referring to food is more about how such a dish represents the most famous local flavor of a region, the name made perfect sense. The food prepared here is the real deal and it's truly outstanding. Don't let the ambiance of this small saloon deter you. Elise is the owner and personally sees to the comfort of her guests. She and her chef are from the Dominican Republic, and their website states that Dominican cuisine has been influenced by indigenous Dominicans as well as settlers from Spain, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Canary Islands, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti (next door on the shared island of Hispaniola), and Hungary. They further indicate that flavor contributions have been made by Sephardic Jews, slaves brought to the Republic by the French in the 17th Century, and freed Blacks who fled from the United States in the 19th Century. From the Menú Típica Latino, I ordered the Típico Fried Platter, and I strongly suggest you do the same. It has everything: Fried Pork, Fried Chicken, Longaniza (Spanish sausage), Salami, Fried Cheese, Casava, and Tostones. Amazing! As the Dominican Republic is only 57 miles southeast of Cuba, it is not surprising that there are also a few expressly classic Cuban dishes on the menu. One of these is the Ropa Vieja/ Shredded Stewed Beef and Vegetables. The rice accompanying this "típica" Cuban dish was cooked perfectly. The beef itself was so tender, its juices so flavorful, that for a moment I experienced zoanthropy, becoming one of Pavlov's dogs salivating just remembering this experience. I pull myself together, remembering I am a human man, and wipe the slobber off my jowls with a towel. THIS IS A BIG BOY MUST TRY! The Big Boy says, "Go see Elise, try the Típico Fried Platter, and, oh yeah, bring your appetite."

One of the best services we’ve ever had from a Spanish Restaurant in a while! It’s a Family owned/run restaurant. We got there a little late, we didn’t realize the time they closed but they still took us in and gave us their best! Food was amazingly tasty and the people were so sweet and humble. Clean place, great music and the menu had so much variety. Since it was late Saturday night, some of the items were unavailable but they still provided great options for us to chose from. They make their own tres leches which is also one of the best I’ve had in a very long time!!! Overall, if we could give 100 stars we would! Too bad we’re from Tampa if not we would visit this place at least once a week! (:

We went here today for the first time. Food was awesome! The empanadas were the best we have had in this area. Rest of the food was equally amazing. The service was great. We will definitely be returning!

Food is great! I’ve had a number of their dinners and lunches. The Ropa Veja being my favorite. Staff is friendly and the place is clean. One of your better choices in the Rockledge Cocoa area.

I was excited to try this restaurant but ended up very disappointed. The pernil (slow roast pork) was so dry that I could not eat it. Maybe it was cooked early in the morning and sat under a heat lamp but it was super hard and inedible. The only soft parts were pure fat. Empanada barely had any filling, not much seasoning on any of the food. $22 for a sad plate and a juice seems unnecessary. The lady at the counter was very friendly.

This place is a gem! There's both Cuban and Dominican food on the menu. The lady taking our order was full of energy and all kinds of suggestions, and the food we ended up with was incredible! The cuban cafe con leché is good if you're a latté person, and goes really nicely with the empanadas. Love it!
