Based on the room we stayed in (King Guest room) the hotel is far from luxury in my opinion. If all the rooms are in the condition that ours was, I am not sure how they have a 4.7 in Google. I will say the hotel grounds are very quaint and charming. They are nicely kept and provide an outdoor ambiance that’s quite appealing. The staff we came across with, the valet and the people in the reception were very nice. The continental breakfast that is included is decent and the location was good. The downfall of this place, for me, was in the condition of the room. It was by far not what is represented on their website and even on the overall rating it benefits from. The room was filthy, it was very worn and although the bathroom seems to have been remodeled within the last decade it felt tired and was dirty. The fabric headboard was dirty, there were cobwebs on the lamp shade, there was accumulated dust on the trim of the bathroom door and baseboards like it had not been wiped in who knows how long. There were scuff marks in almost every wall. There were holes in the pillowcases and the sheets felt like they have been in use for years as they were beyond thin and worn. Every time someone in the room above you went to the bathroom you heard the flushing. If anyone was walking around in the room above you…you heard everything. I understand these are older buildings but there are remedies for these kinds of things when remodeling is done. Upon checkout I did advise the person at the reception of our disappointing experience and they referred me to email the general manager which I did. His response, although somewhat apologetic, was that he had been to the room and in fact agreed it was not in the condition that it should have been but was quick to mention that scuff marks are acceptable. I’ve stayed in hotels that are centuries old that do not have scuff marks on their walls and it’s simply because they are managed and maintained well. A good quality paint and frequent wipe down would have solved that problem. Him excusing it was infuriating actually. Management did offer a complimentary night for my troubles but I don’t feel it’s worth my time to give them another chance. I belief that if I’m leaving the comforts of my home to stay at your hotel, it needs to bring it. Unfortunately, this place didn't.

We jumped out of our comfort zone and decided to mix up our regular property in St. Augustine to try The Collector. We did have a good stay and our room was nice and clean. The room was decorated, tasteful, and had the standard amenities. Our toilet did run non-stop. I ended up doing some repair work and fixed it myself. While I think the property is priced fairly, nothing here wowed us. The breakfast, the toiletries were just a bit basic. The grounds and buildings would definitely benefit from a good pressure washing.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here. We booked a week-stay in a “King Suite with Shared Veranda.” This room was incredible. The bathroom was super spacious with a walk-in shower. The bed was super comfy and cozy and we also had a separate sitting room with a kitchenette, table and two chairs. These rooms are absolutely romantic. It’s really cool how the property is set up too. All the little houses/cottages are sort of spread out and then in the center of the property there’s a cool little bar, pool, and fire pits spread around. It’s such an excellent place to hang out with the one you love and sip really yummy cocktails. As far as location goes, you’re in walking distance of everything you want. Easily walk downtown and grab a bite or take a stroll over to Ice Plant/Distillery. (For transparency sake, we did Uber to Ice Plant.) I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t just love staying at The Collector Inn.

We have stayed in St. Augustine several times but this was our first stay at the collector. First off there was a mixup with our reservation dates, and I though the whole deal would go south. Charlie (general manager) was very accommodating even though the issue was not his responsibility. All other staff, from valet to grounds keeper were personal and professional. The courtyard is spacious and feels secluded even though down town is 2 blocks away. A great place to sit by the fire and read, or just enjoy the sounds birds chirping in the morning. Our room was comfortable and updated. Very nice shower with plenty of water pressure and Hot water. The TV has roku if that's your fancy. Stop at "THE WELL" for a cocktail or glass of wine - it's WELL worth it. This is an adult only place and on our visit I imagine most people were over 60, so quiet, calm,, and relaxing.. Several room options so I see many future trips to try them out! The collector is located at the corner or Cordova street and bridge street. The property takes up a city block.

Perfect place for a weekend getaway. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. Also can’t beat the free breakfast. The Well serves a great smoked old fashion. We can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I needed to book a place in Saint Augustine. We did an online search for Airbnb and other hotels. We read the reviews and list of amenities and booked our stay for four nights. We thankfully came across the Collector Inn during our search. The customer service the Collector offers is 10/10. All of the staff were friendly and provided top-level southern hospitality. We stayed in the Dow house, and our room was perfect. It had a little living area with a kitchenette. The bedroom had a comfortable bed with nice linens, and the restroom was spacious with a walk-in shower. Every time we returned to our "home" for the evening, a sense of calm/relaxation overcame us. I highly recommend it if you need a place to stay in Saint Augustine.

I don't have enough words to describe how wonderful our stay was at the Collector. From speaking on the phone with Savannah and Tatiana, to the last minutes details, and all they went through to make our stay absolutely PERFECT!! We stayed at the Collector for my daughter's surprise engagement and reserved 4 of their beautiful and exquisite rooms. Each room was so comfortable and decorated in such charming ways that exceeded our expectations. The place is superb!! but what is most amazing is the way the staff treats you and all they do to go out of their way to make your stay incredible and memorable. We all LOVED our stay and would recommend this place for any event, especially for a special occasion. Every square inch of this place is meticulously cleaned and attended to. The location is perfect, we were able to walk everywhere. The happy hour was super fun, the pool was great, the bicycles, cookies, sangria, breakfast, and all the extras were amazing as well. Savannah and Tatiana made sure my daughter's engagement was simply PERFECT, they even had wine and wine glasses in the room for them. The staff was genuinely happy for us and went out of their way to make our celebration extra special. I have never stayed in such an amazing place with such wonderful people. In addition, the history in the Collector is incredible! The parking guys were so accommodating and extra nice, and so was Regina as well. I honestly could not say enough about this absolutely perfect and magical place and I hope if you are in St. Augustine, you too get to experience the amazing Collector Luxury Inn and Gardens. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for an unforgettable experience.

This is now my favorite place to stay in St. Augustine. It is beautiful and immaculately kept inside and outside. Firepits are the perfect spot to relax on a cool January evening. Nice touches and something new to us were the refillable water bottles and Alexa in room. Staff is very attentive and helpful. Tim at The Well mixes some divine concoctions. Would have given 5 stars for service except for 2 minor things that aren't worth mentioning in a review. Location is close enough to get to most places one would want to walk to and far enough away so as not to be loud or close to crowds. Definitely glad we found this gem.

What a terrific experience. I wanted to immerse myself in the history and culture of St. Augustine and The Collector delivered 100%. The location is perfect, close enough to Old Town, yet far enough to be sheltered from the noisy crowds. The staff was world-class, the breakfasts were fresh and filling, and the bar was charming. Don't cheat yourself out of taking the tour of the hotel property, which was hosted by the General Manager, Charlie. The room was clean and comfortable, just know that the main structures were not built this century, so you might hear activity in the courtyard or pool or the guests next door. If this bothers you, take ear plugs because the rest of the accommodations are not to be missed. Planning to return in the near future.

We had an amazing time at The Collector from start to finish. From being greeted by Savannah in the lobby to an in-depth tour of the property with Charlie, our stay was everything we had hoped for. Be sure to visit The Well during your stay for drinks by Seth or Lisa! The location is perfect as it is within walking distance to restaurants and places of interests. We will definitely return for another getaway!

This was our third and last time we will stay at the collector.previously we had been enormously impressed with the hotel and grounds. This time, not so much. The first room we were shown smelled terribly musty.we declined to accept it and we were told we couldn’t get a different room unless we upgraded. So, back we went to reception where we were told we could in fact get a room that was not musty. The property was not as well cleaned and the grounds were definitely not as well groomed. The garden beds needed mulch and they were weedy. The bar served a less than satisfactory wine and the bartender almost over charged us for the sweet Cabernet Sauvignon. Checking out we were surprised by the resort fee and taxes..$65.00.although the front desk, ie concierge, was nice enough, her uniform wasn’t ironed and the tattoos were not expected. The breakfast was perfectly acceptable and the snacks from the minibar were appreciated. The cleanliness of the room was also and issue. Windowsill and wood work were dirty. Towels, especially the bath mat and bathrobes were threadbare and worn. Maybe there is new management? Maybe a new owner? But the corners they have cut are noticeable and therefore in the future, we will look to stay elsewhere in st Augustine.

This was our second time staying at the collector and it will be our last, our first time was amazing room was beautiful, clean, fresh bathroom super clean but this time not so much, I request a second floor room, as soon as we walk in the room smelled musty, it was late we were tired, it was raining so we didn’t said anything, not only that bathroom OMG smell like someone urinate on the floor, toilet cover was yellow instead of white, dirty towels (not white) bath rope (not white): bed sheets dirty, carpet super dirty. We got to the hotel on a Saturday and Sunday morning the housekeeping lady at 8:00 am slammed the downstairs door so hard several time very disrespectful. Our check out supposed to be on Tuesday and we left on Monday early morning we didn’t care about loosing money we couldn’t stay another day in that room so disgusting, dirty. Cleaning crew should be sent to a training to teach them how to clean. Also the property needs major maintenance including all the rooms.

Fantastic location in the Historic district, everyone on staff was so kind all the way down to the cat on the grounds. Excellent breakfast, the well bar bartender was very helpful in recommending places to go in the area. Thank you Craig for the meeting back in 2019! We will be back.

Beautiful and historic setting but for some reason our room had no base boards so you could see all the crumbling grout around the edges. Also, no housekeeping for 2 days in a row. I would stay there again because it was so lovely in other ways.

My husband and I planned a quick getaway in the middle of the week. We stayed 2 nights. The location is great. Well within walking distance to historic downtown St. Augustine. The rooms are remodled historic homes and are nicely nestled within it's own property. It hosts a beautiful courtyard for relaxing. However, the floors are thin. We were in a downstairs suite and could hear the dog barking upstairs as well as muffled conversations. Also, they seemed to be short staffed as there was only one valet at any one time. This was especially difficult at checkout as we waited 20 minutes to receive our car. The breakfast was good when it was stocked. We had to wait for some of the hot food as it seemed that they only had one person replenishing the food.

This inn is unique. It is a compound consisting of historical buildings that were once a living history museum. The grounds are beautiful and charming. Honestly, I would have been happy spending all of my time in the garden without ever venturing into the city. You can lounge in little charming courtyards, by firepits and coy pounds or on porches. It is lovely. The room was beautiful, the parking attendant/valet was a pleasure, and the front desk couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. For example: we had checked out of the room, but he knew that our car was still in the parking lot, we had told him that we would take a walk around town before leaving. My glasses were found in the room and he put them in our car just in case he didn't see us again before we left. They have an adequate breakfast, and 2 happy hours at 5 and 9. What more could you ask for.

Beautiful grounds, nice service people, good breakfast. I had to make a trip to Emergency and the front desk called and had the ambulance there in about 10 minutes. Only complaint is that the room though we'll appointed was just too small for a handicapped person in a wheelchair and a companion. Otherwise, though pricey, is very quiet with beautiful gardens.

Wow! The bar was amazing! Instantly tied for first place with favorite bar in St Aug! Amazing bartenders here! Such a cool place. Tim was not only an expert mixologist but an amazing host for the evening as well. Cannot wait to come back and stay for the night!

We absolutely loved our stay here for our honeymoon. The location is perfect for a romantic getaway - very quiet and peaceful. We even had a small photo shoot (just the 2 of us and the photographer) on the grounds & in the gardens and the staff was so nice and accommodating about it. The pool is splendid and clean. I recommend this inn for a romantic and quiet getaway. Loved it can't wait to go back.

We absolutely LOVED our stays at The Collector Inn. My husband surprised me for my birthday first and we had such a great time I did the same for him the following month. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by name with smiles (and sangria!). The unit was lovely, large and filled with nice snacks, a loaded expresso machine, robes, a refrigerator...). The outdoor landscaping, statues, pool and trees were gorgeous. On our second trip, we took a tour by Mac which enriched the experience by learning the entertaining history of the buildings and art throughout. Before that though, the happy hour was fun with the friendly bartender creating quite a lively (literally on fire!) drink and the next morning the breakfast was lovely. The staff were all super outgoing and insured we had all we needed (including reservations to a nice restaurant, our car in good hands with their valet. plus much more) Can't express enough how much we enjoyed. Have to add how clean our room and the premises were. Excited to go back for our anniversary!

We found a hidden gem here! One million percent would recommend to go here. It’s our new favorite spot and will definitely be back. The WELL BAR is like a speakeasy, fairy garden / manly hangout. Tim the bartender/manger was absolutely phenomenal. He made some of the most well crafted amazing unique drinks that I’ve ever had. He is definitely talented and made the experience.

Stayed here for 3 days! Had very great customer service since the moment we walked in. Since we were between two hotel stays we were a hour early to our check in and they had our room ready for us! Which was very nice to unpack when we arrive versus a hour later. The amenities provided at the hotel are great, re-usable water bottles, breakfast included, cute lawn games and bikes to use all day to ride around town. Bonus; upon check in you get a glass of welcome sangria! YUM, please share the recipe. I need more! We enjoyed the Well Bar on property. I would just recommend going during happy hour as the drinks are a little $$ and will add up quick in price if you get multiple. The best part of the visit was the customer service we experienced. We unfortunately had a flat tire on our rental. The valet staff noticed this on their own and called us to inform us. The maintenance team changed the tire to our spare for us. This customer service went above and beyond our expectations. I would definitely recommend staying here. Do it!

I’ve been to St. Augustine many times over the years but never stayed here. I’ve once stayed at Casa Monica and one hotel at the beach. My experience at The Collector Inn was, by far, my favorite. It’s wild how it’s a retreat within a city. We checked in and then started with a drink at The Well on-site. I had the Spicy Cordova which is an excellent blend of spices and sweet. We then wandered the beautiful grounds and walked into town. It’s far enough away from the main attractions but close enough to walk in and out at the end of the evening. And the area is very safe. We ended the evening sitting at the fire pit and relaxing. The room was very comfortable and had all of the needed amenities included a keepsake water bottle to bring home. I’d highly recommend staying there! You have your own separate place which adds to the intimacy versus a regular hotel.

Our stay was Incredible. We stayed in the Howell's house 1st floor for 3 nights. The room was clean and very nice. A love seat, chair and a table and 2 chairs. This place has a very old house vibe and is cozy and even romantic. I surprised the wife on this trip and the Collector didn't disappoint. The pool is very nice and a welcome addition considering the temps. The Well House a a Must Do. Bartenders (I should say mixologists) were amazing. Valet parking was another plus and they were amazing as well. Breakfast is just as incredible too. To put it plainly,...we were SPOILED to death! The Collector was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

Beautiful place! The staff are just amazing. Oliver and James with valet service. John as the fantastic bartender/cocktail master in the awesome on site pub, The Well. Jamie handling everything and solving all my problems at the front desk. You will love this gorgeous Inn.

What a lovely Inn. We really enjoyed our stay. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect for two couples. Beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and nice showers. The grounds are beautiful. Continental breakfast was more than adequate, very nice selection. Visited The Well for drinks and snacks. We felt that the charcuterie board was lacking for the price we paid. Staff was very attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend. Would stay again.

This Luxury Inn is nothing short of amazing---pure, casual elegance. The grounds are welcoming with a mix of historic charm and modern amenities. The staff is excellent: attentive, pleasant, and available when needed. The king suite we stayed in was quite spacious and exceptionally clean. The courtyard was inviting with outdoor seating and fire pits. The pool, although small, was well-kept and refreshing on a hot summer day. The breakfast offered each morning was sufficient: pastries, bagels, fresh fruit, cheeses; somewhat lacking compared to the standard of everything else at the Inn. Each room is equipped with a nespresso machine, a wonderful start to the day! There is a bar on site which offers an early and a late happy hour. The location of the Inn is superb; it is less than a mile from all of the main attractions in the Historic District. Overall, we had an incredible stay and will certainly be back again!

Great location, could walk everywhere. Breakfast was great each morning. Pool is very small, but the bar and fire pits each night was a plus. Friendly workers.

There really aren’t many hotels that compare to The Collector in my book! My boyfriend and I stay here multiple times a year because we love it so much. It has all the St. Augustine history and charm, combined with the all modern amenities you’d expect from a 4-star hotel. The grounds are so beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. I love the fire pits and games set up around the courtyard. It is so nice to have a drink at the bar, then sit by the fire before heading out on the town for the night. There’s just something about the place that feels like home away from home. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stay anywhere else in St. Aug because it just won’t be as great at The Collector!

  • 5/5 Hunter C. 2 years ago on Google
We will definitely be returning here. The hotel was beautiful and captured the historic essence of St. Augustine perfectly. The breakfast was delicious and so convenient, and we really enjoyed the mixology class with John. Best hotel I've stayed at in quite some time!

The Collector is not only in an amazing location in town, but the beds are super comfortable and everyone is so gracious. It was just a short walk to all the great places in town, and any time we needed our car the Valet was able to get it for us so quick, in any kind of weather! Our stay was so comfortable and we would definitely visit again!

This is definitely a special place for us. Great customer service at the Collector. They are so friendly and always ready to help in any way they can. The ground's are beautiful, with a lush tropical feel. We especially love the mixture of palms and large bird of paradise's. Our room is so comfortable and charming. We love sitting on the balconies or hanging out in the courtyard by the fire rings. There is also a specialty bar on site that makes awesome drinks by a top grade bartender. Plus, St. Augustine is a great city to experience history, museums, shopping, water tours, trolley service, distillery's, wineries and great food. It's so easy to walk around and just enjoy the beauty and atmosphere. This is a place we come back to as often as possible.
