As a visitor to Tucson, I was honestly slightly disappointed by the tacos in Tucson. However, Tumerico was the exceptional exception! Their vegetarian and vegan takes on tacos were delicious and creative. I never would have thought jackfruit could be so versatile. The sauces garnishing each taco really anchor each flavor. I can't wait to return!

This restaurant has a great vibe! There is a delicious daily menu that is all vegetarian/vegan and has so many options! My friend and I ordered two entrees and shared them! They also have a delicious horchata! The indoor seating space Is massive. The food comes out fast and the service is exceptional. Parking is minimal but can be found within a block or two.

Tumerico is one of the best vegan restaurants I have eaten at across multiple states. The focus is Mexican cuisine, and they have the freshest ingredients, friendly staff, and plenty of seating. I love the decor and paintings throughout. I got the nopalitos (cactus) because I love cactus and was blown away by how filling but light the food is. My friend got the jackfruit tacos, which are one of her favorites. They have 2 very clean bathrooms, too.

I am not a vegan but I definitely loved the food here. I had my doubts but heard nothing but amazing reviews of this place so my friends and I went here for lunch and it was as good as people say! I love the food and the staff is so friendly and helpful. I told them it was my first time and they took the time to explain the menu as well as recommendations for first timers and non vegan person like myself. Just all around wholesome people. I highly recommend this place if you are in the Tucson area. I will let the pictures do the talking 😊

I tried their risotto and the flavor was fantastic. I think that sometimes they change the flavor because this one was with mushrooms and other times they have it red. That's what I like about this place. You will never get tired of going because the menu changes constantly. and so we can try new and fresh things. They expanded the dining room and that is more comfortable.

My financial advisor told me about this place a while back. I normally eat vegan, dairy free, gluten-free, and processed sugar-free. To my delight, Tumerico offered me plenty of choices.. My husband and I had a terrific meal and experience! I totally enjoyed every bite of my Ropas Viejas. It was plenty of food and very tasty, made with jackfruit. My husband had an Ethiopian dish with lentils that was also great. I usually can't order dessert but they had a gluten-free vegan coconut sugar chocolate cake with coconut icing that was divine. It's wonderful to find a place that serves healthy food that also accommodates special diets. And you don't have to have a special diet to enjoy eating here! The staff was so friendly and excited about the food they prep and serve. You'll find plenty of tables located in multiple rooms with lots of natural light for dining. We were there at lunch and parking was a bit limited. We had to park a short distance away on a side street. But it was worth the short walk. If you want to find a tasty and healthy dining experience try Tumerico!

Amazing place for vegans and vegetarians, We order the pastor burrito, potato tacos. The jackfruit pastor was moderately spicy and very delicious, pleasant environment. The lady at the counter was really helpful in making our selections. Would definitely recommend for everyone and will definitely eat here whenever I am in Tucson.

Delicious, local fast-casual option. Great for large groups. Order at the counter and then grab a table at the large seating area. Most meals come with "all the powers" which includes a salad, rice, fantastic refried beans, salsa, and cashew cream. The almond joy cookie is a must-try.

We went to the Tumerico for brunch. It was incredible. I had no idea jackfruit could be cooked so well. The lattes were delicious as well. We ordered the Saffron and Lavender latte, and I liked how they weren't too sweet, allowing you to taste the flavors. I highly recommend it.

This place definitely lives up to the hype. The service is efficient, friendly, and energetic. The food was delicious, beautiful, and a great portion size. I had the mixed vegetables in mole and it was very good. The flavors were definitely on point and the proportions were great. My partner had the al pastor tacos and this had to have been some of the most well prepared jackfruit we have ever had. The texture was perfect, the flavor to heat balance was spot on, and the addition of pineapple was very tasty.

We have been to Tumerico several times and have never been disappointed. Everyone we have brought has also loved their meal. I cannot recommend Tumerico highly enough!! It is my favorite place to go. I also like that their menu changes almost daily depending on the ingredients and fresh produce they can get.

Nice vegan restaurant. The staffs were friendly and helpful. At first I was not aware this restaurant is a vegan restaurant, I thought the carnitas I ate was real meat! They did a good job at seasoning the plant base meat -- jackfruit. On the other hand, I really enjoy the guacamole. It was so yummy! The fruit juice was fine. In general, this restaurant surprise me. I couldn't image how delicious vegan Mexican food can be until I tried this place!

Super delicious take on Vegan/vegetarian Tex/Mex. They do have eggs and cheese for those that want them. Staff was attentive. There's a couple of outdoor dining options, but plenty of indoor tables! Definitely plan on coming back! Update: i have seen dogs inside with leashes. Was told by employees birds are allowed as long as they are inside a cage or enclosure!

My family always looks for a Vegan, gluten free place to eat. We found this restaurant in Tucson. Tasted so good. Large plates of food. Salad and rice and bean came with most of the plates. All REAL GOOD. My Favorite Vegan, gluten free type food restaurant in Tucson. A MUST GO!

Outstanding customer service I must say. We were greeted at the entrance with a smile and made us feel right at home. The food was good but not great, good flavor but missing the final taste to my liking.I had the chorizo with papas(Burrito) it was quite big and filling. Might not be a bad option to size down on the burrito. Atmosphere was refreshing with great music.Latte was good but not the best I had which is fine as that is not their specialty. With all, I can’t say enough of their customer service, the whole staff worked as a unit to deliver great experience. Thank you Tumerico staff!

This is a great place for healthy food with mainly vegetarian and vegan options. While we aren't vegan or vegetarian, we still found something tasty on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed our food. You can get the breakfast burrito with egg and cheese instead of tofu. It's definitely food you can feel good about and feel good after eating.

Been to both locations and have been very satisfied every time. No trip to Tucson is complete with a stop at either location. Food is exceptional and the portions are hefty, I always leave with leftovers and with a full belly. I love the vegan options and the gluten free options as well. The only complaint I have is the prices for the their drinks, they keep going up and are extremely high so I’ve stopped getting them and only come here for the food.

Didn't know it was a vegan place until I ordered al pastor burrito and the hostess told me about the ingredients, but it was amazingly tasty. Service was great. After ordering the food we realized that they charged us for 2 burritos instead of 1 and got the instant refund. The ambiance was great. The smoothie was yummy. Would definitely visit again when in Tucson. Beware, limited parking spaces in the front so you might have to do street parking and walk to the restaurant.

Wow! I was looking for a restaurant with vegan options and this place came up. I wasn’t in the mood for Mexican but after taking one bite I changed my mind. I had the barbacoa plate and saying it was fantastic would be and understatement. It was phenomenal! the staff were the friendliness people I have come across in a while. If you are in the area, please stop by. You won’t be disappointed.

This place is mostly vegan which is great, they have some dairy options with cheese as well. The menu changes daily. Walk up counter to order. The food came out super quick. The horchata was delicious, sweet and cinnamon-y. I got the green Chile cheese tamale plate. It was a lot of food. I wish it had more cheese and the portion of guacamole would be bigger. My friend enjoyed the Al pastor tacos. They looked delicious. Other wise it was great. One of the ladies there explained to us the menu and what her favorite items were. The place can get packed and parking could be a pain.

I am fully prepared for the people who will disagree with me. IF you are looking for vegetable/vegan forward fare this is your place! I was so looking forward to some delicious Mexican food after a long day. Going in with that thought set me up for failure. The service was nice - location was clean and popular. My dishes were flavorful and loaded with fiber. However I found the meal overpriced, under cheesed, and wishing for MEXICAN food that embraced slow cooked meats. Truthfully I missed the protein.

The employees here are delightful and incredibly helpful! I highly recommend the tamales - they're their specialty and are delicious. If you have an aversion to cilantro, then you'll want to steer away from the black beans, guacamole, and pico, but there are plenty of other options. The espresso & lattes are something special. I had the mole latte and really enjoyed it and wish I could have tried their other offerings as well.

This was our first time coming as non-veg people with my vegan dad and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about this place it definitely lives up to the hype!!! The food is SO fresh and flavorful and seasoned well! I got the Viva La Mexico Tostadas Serving sizes were perfect. You order at the front counter and get a number to take a seat, water is self serve but they have delicious drinks and lattes to choose as well, then they bring your food to your table with excellent service. The food was so good we will be back

I noticed this location online while scrolling for the best food in Tucson. I felt apprehension as I LOVE meat, but I was willing to give it a try. Walking in, I noticed the menu was handwritten on the wall next to pictures of Guy Fieri from his visit. I could feel myself getting more excited as if his picture confirmed how good the food would be. We ordered the vegan tamale plate and the ropa vieja plate. My ropa vieja was served with housemade pico, guac, cashew crema, and black beans served with two incredible warm tortillas. The food was light, delicious and very fresh. It was my first time having jackfruit carnitas, and I was blown away. We also ordered the smores cookie, the double chocolate, and the blueberry scone, but they were gone before I was able to take pictures. I will be back soon and I highly recommend them!

Absolutely delicious vegan restaurant that lives up to the hype. I ordered the squash blossom calabacitas - every bite was delightfully flavorful, well seasoned, and vibrant. The guacamole pops in lightness, the refried beans and rice are perfect, and the squash is well prepared. The wait staff is very nice as well.

Spectacularly good vegan expressions of Mexican standards are provided by a cheerful and friendly staff. Enchiladas with mole sauce are stuffed with mushrooms and squash accompanied by avocado and spinach. This is one of the best vegan restaurants in the US but you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy it.

I had the Cuban tacos. They were flavorless. I also had the Horchata. It had a powdery grainy texture that left a film in my mouth. Presentation was good. The beans were good.

Greeted upon entry, very friendly staff, not one but two of them making sure we could navigate the menu, offering many suggestions plus their staff favorites. Flavors were spot on, fresh, and the pozole delivered to our table, on the house was a fun, surprise and delicious treat. WOW. Top notch customer service. Thank you, thank you for the great food and excellent service. 🙌 bravo! T&K

I was skeptical at first but saw it had good reviews so I gave it a shot. My husband and I had the Cuban tacos and Al Pastor tacos. They were SO good. I grew up in a Mexican household and the Cuban was easily in my top 5 best tacos I've ever eaten. Took the famous tamales home (not sure of the name) and they were good. It's hard to compare to traditional Mexican food but they are delicious either way!

First, second, and third experiences have all been beyond any expectation I have had from a restaurant. Dog friendly, first off! The first person I spoke with on my first visit had an impeccable demeanor. He informed me about the menu and it's subtleties. Such a friendly, kind, and professional person. We sat to wait for the food and drinks and were checked up on by that individual as well as two others! With SMILES! The FOOD! AMAZING! Everything had flavor, class, and individual personality. Each time I've had a meal from Tumerico on 6th, I've felt incredibly grateful and my body has had no complaints. Each time, the interactions have been absolutely on point. Kind, polite, and real. My favorirte thing, the Turmeric Lemonade, it hits my foodie/drinkie spirit! I've loved the Arroz con Pollo, Potato Tacos, and Breakfast Tamales. Those 4 Powers level everything up! The spicy mole sauce led me to appreciate the smoky flavor of chipoltle. My Tumerico experiences have felt like a big ole hug from the Universe. I can't wait to get back there! :)

Always reliably delicious, plant-based food. The flavors are popping! In my most recent visit, I tried the new item on the menu: Birria Ramen. I didn't quite know what to expect, but it was totally worth the adventure! Paired with a fresh Jamaica. Yum!

The sauces and toppings they use on every dish I’ve had are really bursting with flavor. I love the ambiance and the staff are so warm and welcoming. I’ve never had a disappointing meal here. I usually order vegan options, but love that they have local eggs and other local, fresh ingredients. I recently had the best snickerdoodle cookie I have EVER had and couldn’t believe it was vegan. They are really doing it right!

Went here to grab coffee with a friend and lunch to go. The coffee selection was really wide and interesting but what was the star of the show were the tacos. Very generous with the portions and was an overall balanced meal. Would come again.

The atmosphere is amazing. All the feel and ambiance of a "traditional" family owned Mexican restaurant with an earthy flavor. There are plenty of options on the menu and you cannot make a mistake if you are not sure what to choose. The food is absolutely delicious and the portion size guarantees you will leave full. Excellent service from a very attentive staff.

An amazing vegetarian Mexican restaurant!!! Everything we had was delicious. My favorite thing we tried was actually the mole enchiladas, and I didn't even think I liked mole! I ordered the potato tacos and they were very very good. Definitely recommend for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike. Our entire party was very happy!

  • 5/5 Monica 1 year ago on Google
Outstanding customer service that showed care with my dietary needs. Everyone was so polite and the restaurant had great vibes. The homemade chai latte was the best I’ve had, hands down. It had a great spice flavor that needed no extra sweetness. It was a tough choice to pick just one latte to try with the enticing options. The coconut curry bowl was absolutely delicious. The power sides were just as excellent and the rice was my favorite .The gluten-free brownie was amazing with a soft, fluffy texture. The art work was stunning and I loved the painting of Bourdain. I’ll definitely return to give support and try more of the food and lattes! Thank you!

I recommend Turmerico! The people are so friendly. The owner was very nice too. I tasted A Cubano taco, an al pastor taco and took some ropa vieja home for my mom. they were very good. You'll get a side of beans and rice. They also have free coffee for customers which is AWESOME possum. Al pastor tacos were the best! I highly recommend this place. The horchata was very good and the chocolate cookies were tasty as well. I thought I tasted a hint of cardamom. Awesome vegan place! Thank you Wendy! The Vegan red chili tamales and the Chile Verde tamales (white) are delicious! They are worth every penny spent, and the best vegan/vegetarian tamales I've had.

This was our first time looking for plant based or vegan options in Tucson. My wife looked at many restaurants online and we agreed to go check out Tumerico. They change their menu everyday but they keep the Cuban Tacos because so many people love them. We tried the tacos made from Jack fruit and they were off the hook! I see why people keep coming back for more. The food was great! This restaurant has more of an informal feel. I will go back and try more of their food. They offer coffee for free and they have kombucha on tap. Go see them and try their food even if your not on a plant based diet. The food is good!!

Yum. I am not a vegetarian and I can eat here no problem! The food is fresh, healthy and colorful with expanded menu since it first opened. Portions are generous. I was not a big fan of the squash soup today, the original vegetable soup is much tastier. Overall a winning place, get there soon!

Recently converted to a vegan lifestyle and was told by several non-vegans to try Tumerico. The menu options and culinary skills make this a must try in Tucson even for carnivores. Very friendly staff that can explain the menu and how things are prepared, lightening fast service, very generous portions and plate cleaning delicious. Would honestly eat here again even if I still ate meat, but knowing we can get this level of creative, fantastic tasting vegan foods is a win-win.

After seeing this place on Diners Drive-Ins and dives, my father really wanted to go. So while my family was in town visiting and we went to Tucson, we found the place. The soup was actually very tasty. It was like a butternut squash type soup and I really enjoyed it. But the rest of the meal was okay. My dad enjoyed it, my stepmother well not so much. I was in between. Everything that I had tended to have a very sweet flavor. I would have liked to have had a little bit more spice and depth to the flavors. I will say though that the service was great, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. somebody took time to explain to every group that came in what the menu was and how it worked. If I could give a rating for service alone it would be five stars. But the flavors just weren't my personal preference. Even though it's not something I cared for I would suggest to others to give it a shot.

This place is absolutely fantastic! I love that they constantly change the menu. You don't miss the meat at all! My husband had the Diego Rivera enchiladas (mushrooms, zucchini, cuitiacoche, chocolate mole sauce, guacamole) and he really liked the zucchini and mushrooms. I tasted them and didn't really like the mole sauce, but that's a personal preference really. I had the Tacos Al Pastor (jackfruit carnitas, pineapple and spicy adobo sauce) and let me tell you! OUT? FREAKING ? STANDING ? The jackfruit carnitas tasted exactly like pork carnitas! ? The spicy adobo sauce was definitely spicy but I love spicy. The "All Powers" (rice, beans, salad, salsa and cashew cream) was fantastic also, especially the beans!! We'll definitely be making it to be our regular Saturday lunch spot!! Can't wait to try their tamales! ??

Went here on recommendation of a local. A varied, changing menu, but all from whole foods with an emphasis on locally sourced. Only several minor reservations on the restaurant. Rice, which was the tastiest part of the plate, was a skimpy serving. Beans, had little flavor and added little to the taste of the plate. Jackfruit carnitas was hot, but delicious! Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Tamales were delicious. This is a hopping place but had a diverse clientele. I would come back in a heartbeat, even if entrees are on the pricey side.

Best vegan Mexican food I’ve ever had. Great portions, and friendly staff. 10/10 would go again.

Came recommended by a friend who lives in the neighborhood. Lives up to the hype. When I was unsure of the drink to order, they let me sample both. Went with the horchata. Delicious cinnamon rice drink. Had the huervos rancheros for breakfast. The eggs were cooked precisely to my liking and the corn tortilla was really corny. Had to be homemade. The sauce was frsh and tasty and the plate was LOADED. I wasn't going to leave still hungry. Owner and staff were all delightful. Five star for sure!
