Nice little spot! Food was very good although I wish I had more soup and less bread bowl 😊. The soup was delicious and staff super friendly!!!! If you are downtown Tucson you have to stop by and try the food and drinks!!!! Definitely a thumbs up 👍🏾

The soups and sandwiches here are to die for! I couldn't help myself and I ate my entire meal. I ordered a pb&j for my girls and they loved it and it was huge and they grilled it! I wanna go back for every meal!

Having been disappointed by most of our return-to-America favorites, I was happy to learn that Bisonwitches is still the champion of sandwich shops. Portions are gigantic, flavors are on-point, and the staff is still friendly and helpful. LOVE LOVE LOVE Bisonwitches.

The sandwiches are HUGE! I had the Wildcat and it definitely did not disappoint. The Honey Russian Mustard was delicious. Fun atmosphere for a mid-afternoon lunch, with plenty of beer choices.

I’ve been coming to Bison for a loooooooong time. Their sandwiches are big enough for me to save half for lunch the next day and still be FILLED. But honestly, their soup and sandwich combo is UNDEFEATED. Nothing is better than their soup coming in a soft bread bowl. My favorite is the Broccoli Cheddar soup and the Green Turkey sandwich. This place is such a local staple, conveniently located on 4th ave. Before/after your meal it’s always nice to walk along 4th and window shopping. Seriously though, If you haven’t had Bison, you haven’t visited Tucson!

Our first time back in Tucson in over a year and we wanted to try some new places. We also had our 19 year old daughter with us (she can't get into many places), so the goal was to find a place or two for snacks for all of us, drinks for the adults and something new. A friend of ours recommended Bison Witches and we were not disappointed. Before we placed an order, the portions coming out of the kitchen were massive, so much food. So we went with their Grilled Peanut Butter Sandwich. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was for sure something new and loved it! Wow! Because we shared it, we also each got a bag of chips with the half of sandwich. It was a great deal. All of their food looked amazing and the staff was friendly and attentive. We will for sure be back, as we want to give their nachos a try! Maybe a bread soup bowl too!

Great sandwiches and soup bowls! Generous portions, lots of choices. Each sandwich comes with your choice of bread: Wheat, white or marble rye & your choice of chips. The 1/2 sandwich & bread bowl soup combo is a good option. Friendly service, outdoor patio, parking in the back. Casual place with local charm.

Hadn't been there in 10-12 yrs. It's exactly as it's always been. Great food great service. It's right down on 4th so after lunch or dinner there are a ton of other things u can do. I took a date who hadn't been in awhile either. We enjoyed ourselves. Definitely a great place. Absolutely recommend Bison Witches.

My son & his wife took me here for the food. It was excellent! The clam chowder came in a bread bowl and the huge salads are perfectly arranged with a variety of leafy greens and toppings! My husband had the corned beef on rye which was amazing! All the food items we ordered were enough for two people so pace yourself. They also have an extensive drink menu which makes Bison Witches the perfect lunch spot!

Wow!!!! Amazing soup and sandwich. It's probably one of the best sandwiches we've had in Tucson. The soup bread bowls are nothing to complain about. Our server, Aly, went above and beyond to go over the menu and offer amazing suggestions. Thank you, Aly! Mural by @by.alyseandra

Great espresso martini! I had the green turkey sandwich it was good but I didn't realize it would be warmed so wasn't a fan of the Sprouts and cream cheese being warm. My dinning mate had a beef and brie and really enjoyed it. If I return I'll try a soup/bread bowl. It looked tasty.

This place came highly recommended from locals. We stopped in for lunch. Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious. Large portions and fresh bread. Large beer selection. Wasn't a fan of the loud bison bell being hit every time an order was ready. Maybe if I wasn't sitting right next to it? For me, it took away from the atmosphere so I'm mentioning it.

Bison Witches has a full menu of different great options! They have good deals with 1/2 sandwiches and soup for those who want to try a variety of foods. I got the Reuben sandwich and it was the perfect mixture of ingredients! I’ve come back to the restaurant multiple times and each time the service, and quality of ingredients/meals has never disappointed me. The sandwiches were also huge for a small price(hand for comparison)!

The food here is absolutely fabulous and the service is always amazing as well! I like that they at least accommodate us smokers with the outside area out back. Bison Witches soup and sandwich is my favorite. It's a great place to stop and take a break when visiting 4th Avenue!

Terrible place especially for what you pay for. If you have interest in pooping yourself the whole night definitely go here. Other than that this place has poor quality in food and the staff is terrible. Definitely would definitely give them 0 stars if that was an option. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY UNLESS YOU ENJOY HAVING PAINFUL DIARRHEA.

I’m wary of places that are local institutions because sometimes the status of the place overrides some obvious defects. That is not the case here. Visit and consume with confidence! We ordered the chili and clam chowder to go and we both agree that these are top of list of both that we’ve tried in a long time… if not ever. The bread bowls we’re soft and perfectly gave way to the contents! The chili had great heat, amazing flavor and hit the spot on this cold evening. The clam chowder was really flavorful, but in a way where there was no doubt what you we’re eating but grateful for the balance of heartiness and flavor! Highly recommend both dishes, will now be a staple for wintertime nosh!

I decided to visit this place on my 1st adventure in Tucson. I was staying around the area and what I caught me was the pictures of huge and juiciest sandwiches the make. We were 2 eaters. We decided to order a marbled bread sandwich and a potato bisque. I paired it with a Draft Local beer. The sandwich was juicy and tasty, the bread was perfectly toasted, honestly I am dreaming with this place since I visited it. The amount of food was perfectly enough for both of us. I will definitely come back. 🤩

Normally BisonWitches is GREAT! But lately ordering pick-up is awful! They used to include their Chili Con Queso on their nachos, but apparently, that is only if you dine in. They used to provide bread bowls, but apparently, that is only if you dine in. I don't know what happened to the pick up service, but this was the most disappointing order that we have received from them.

Delightfully divey, and just bohemian enough to feel homey without being grungy. Pretty packed for lunch, but the sandwiches are amazing and not just your average fare. Combinations that seem weird but really work when you taste them. Lots of good beer, too!

I had the Boston clam chowder, and omg. Home made and the best soup bowl I've ever had. The bread is so fresh. The half sandwich is all you need. The thing huge. If I could give 10 stars, I would. I don't normally eat soup like that. But I will go there whenever I go downtown. Absolutely love it.

I was excited to try this place because of all the great reviews. The sandwiches were just okay, nothing to make me want to get them again. The white bread on our sandwiches were soggy as well. I got two half sandwiches (which aren’t big) and 2 half soups and it was 40$, way overpriced. Unfortunately this is our first and last visit.

    1. Real beef in the sandwich. 2. Definitely try the soup in the bread. Los Angeles style.

My husband & I were excited to go because we've been there before in the past (years ago) & really liked it; until now, we both were disappointed. First of all I told the waitress twice I wanted wheat bread & brought me Rye, we both got the lunch special (half sandwich & soap). The quality of the food is definitely not like before - yes the sandwich breads are huge but that's all it is because the portion inside is not worth the money. The soap was also disappointing - very lil soap for a huge bread bowl. 2 lunch specials, 1 tea & 1 soda after tax & tip was almost 60 dollars. I didn't think the lunch quality & service was worth the 60 dollars.

These sandwiches were delicious however we ordered a sandwich with bacon in it and it didn’t come with bacon… we called back to give feedback and they said to return to right their wrong but we already left town. Other than that their bread was fresh, it was a huge size, and meats were fresh. Would come back regardless!

Tucson staple for a good place to go eat. Service was good. Very friendly. Can slow down when they are really busy though. Food came out fast and was delicious. Drinks were good also. Pretty diverse menu. All sandwiches are on thick bread though, but freshly made. I would recommend this place .

The pictures on the menu looked so good. Huge sandwiches and amazing looking soup bowl.... but... my Cali sandwich came with avocado slices and I'm not sure how the cook even cut them, they were like slices of plastic and not even flexible....not ripe even a bit... but he served it anyway? I ask for this to be returned, instead she brought more avocado slices on a plate. My husband had the pastrami, the bread slices were an inch think and a tiny bit of meat in the center, all that for $16.50. The only good thing was the clam chowder. Our bill was $60 for three sandwiches, one soup, two sodas and a Michilada. Epic fail.

We stopped in for lunch this past Friday and had sandwiches that were delicious, and carried half of everything home with us. The servers were friendly and took care of our needs without hovering over us. All around a great experience!

A small hole in the wall is where you can find some of the best soups and sandwiches in the city. Do not pass them up if your on fourth Ave. Lots of places to eat, but none as good as this homemade soup and sandwich shop. Giant sandwiches, hearty soups in a bread bowls and drinks. Very happy with our current trip to eat. Had not been I a while and was floored by how good it was. Keep forgetting this hidden gem in the desert. A must for when it is getting cooler outside. Nothing warms you up like these soups.

Stopped in for a late night (around 10pm) bite to eat because we had multiple locals recommend this place. Sandwiches were absolutely fantastic, as was the service! Server recommended we do half sandwiches instead of the full ones and boyohboy was she right! The full size must be HUGE lol. Would come back again next time I'm in town!

We had great food & and a great waitress. Potato soup in a bread bowl was delicious. They had something for our whole party. I had a hard time choosing just one thing. Thank goodness they had 1/2 sandwich and soup.

This restaurant is filthy from top to bottom. The walls are covered in dust and there are huge cobwebs in every corner. It nearly looks like halloween decor. The paint is peeling off the walls, and there are also roaches. The roaches are inside of the restaurant, under the booths and in the walls. It is very obvious that there is no money being put back into this place. Yet, sodas are 4 DOLLARS from a dirty, sticky and dusty soda hose. The menus are outdated and look old. It’s a shame to see how run down this place looks. The price gouging is also ridiculous and menu prices have already changed TWICE in once year. Nobody in the kitchen has a hair net on either, so don’t be surprised if you get a string of nice warm hair. The salads are big deep bowls of dry lettuce, and the famous 1/2 special is $18 for 90% bread. Save your money

I have been to New York City, Philadelphia, New Jersey, all the major cities on the east coast. Abd this place in Arizona has the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. I guarantee you if you go here, my statement will never be disputed.

I always get the half Cally with the Bacon Potato soup in a bread bowl, and I always walk away a "Happy Camper". They have some good chow here. The place is located on 4th Ave historic district, so the building is a little older. But don't let that turn dissuade you! My meal was $13.50 plus tax and worth it. Service was good and bathrooms were clean. Recommend :)

Pub style food! My husband and I shared a bread bowl broccoli soup and side salad which came with a a bag of potato crisps. It was very tasty - and perfect for a light dinner. The other meals looked amazing - enormous trays of tortilla chips and giant deli sandwiches. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous!

I used to enjoy the food and drinks there. I was there in January 2020. However, I was charged 4% more for using my debit card. When you set your food and drink price you included 4% or 5% for credit or debit card. Now you want to charge me an extra 4%. Now i go somewhere else for food and drinks.

Extremely generous portions and really tasty food. I recommend the bread bowl with clam chowder. Even the bread on the bread bowl is delicious.

This is one of my favorite places in Tucson. The Miss Priss and Clam Chowder (in a bread bowl) is my favorite combo. You will most likely take a go bag as the portions are generous. Good service and a full bar. The extended patio is my favorite place to enjoy a meal here. I’ve always had good service and a pleasant experience.

Honestly one of my favorite places to go until a late lunch on 6/24/20 @ 3pm. I've been there 5 times treating several friends for lunch in just the last three weeks and loved it! However, today was different. They were definitely skimping on the air conditioning. It was really warm - and sweating while eating is not my thing. Also, every time we've been to BW before they were playing this super great mix of music! This time it was REALLY bad rap music with a heavy beat, and WAY, WAY too loud to even have a conversation! Also the bartender was having fun impressing three guys at the bar by cranking the volume even higher and doing a little dance. (it wasn't very busy at 3pm) Seriously, she popped the volume up so fast one time, I literally jumped off my seat. All three of our sandwiches this time were soggy on the bottom. And the "cream of potato with bacon" soup seemed right out of a can, and with no bacon to be found. It was the first time I tried it. Last time too. The caesar salad was spot on though! A real chicken breast, sliced, with fresh lettuce, pretty average dressing, parmesan cheese, and a good sized portion. Although using a "smashed" piece of bread as a side is a pretty poor substitute for a side of actual bread. And $6.50 for a beer!!?? When a six pack of beer costs $6.50 or a bit more?! Get a grip!!! Me and my friends would've bought 7-10 beers if you didn't charge so much. So we bought... uhhh... NONE! Our waitress did a nice job, and we are usually 30%+ tippers just because we believe in supporting local businesses in these tough times. But the overall experience dropped it to 20%. Will probably try them one more time, but if I have to listen to rap music, sweat while I eat, and shout across the table to talk to my guests, I'll have to find a new favorite place spend my $ and take all my friends. Man... too bad!

I just had a salad there a couple of days ago. I knew I should have been weary of it. I’ve been sick ever since. ? they probably did not wash their lettuce good enough. Still have an upset stomach from it. Thanks a lot. ?

I absolutely adore Bison Witches. You definitely get more than you pay for. I am a local in Tucson but no place compares to this one. The workers and staff are always so polite and I've never had a problem with anyone. The seating arrangements are spaced nicely considering the space area isn't the largest. It's a very cozy place to sit down and enjoy a nice quick meal

Tasty but prices have REALLY increased! 1/2 sandwich and bread bowl is up to $14.50 now! ? Also, be aware if using a debit card they're also charging an additional fee based on your total amount.... roughly 2% of the ✓ 3 of us had the 'special' and the total was $59.33 (I had water and my hubby and our Son had a beer)! We've been going there for years, but sadly, that will be our last time! Much to pricey for half a sandwich and a bread bowl with soup!

Definitely do not go to this place. Last night my daughter and her bf both went in for dinner and drinks, both have valid ID. My daughter is visiting from out of state. The bartender told them that the manager told her not to serve them because they don't accept out of state IDs???? Or is because they were black? Never in my life during my travels has this happened to me. Will definitely report this report for discrination and post all over social media
