It is a great store with great customer service. They really took great care of assembling the bike for me and it was in perfect condition. I left the store very pleased and happy with my purchase and they also offer a service free of charge up to 3 months after purchase. Staff were very helpful, informative and attentive. The store was clean and well signed posted for all of your needs. I would totally recommend buying cycling gear here, as they really know what they are doing!!

Bought this new tent from decathlon. Had been used . Smelt awful as soon as it was opened. We made the mistake of assuming decathlon would sell only new items. This had clearly been used and damaged . Holes to the outer canopy , so very fortunate no rain.mud and grass and even muddy paw prints. Contacted the lakeside store and having advised of complaint was passed from customer service to camping section as they couldn't help. Situation was that we had already arrived at campsite in Norfolk. Advised that we should return it..... To local store of Chelmsford in Essex. To say they were unhelpful and showed no signs of empathy is an understatement. So please please check if your tent is second hand before using it when buying from here. Let's see how helpful they are when I return it tonight??

Impressed! I've come in today looking to purchase a new bicycle, Charlton had been patient with me and suggested me all suitable options for me and gave me clear information about each bikes I've seen, every question I had he answered in a clear manner and made sure I was comfortable with my choices. The service has been so pleasant with him, I highly recommend coming in to talk with one of the guys for they'll take you to exactly what you need!!!

Excellent customer service I spoke with Charlton who was very friendly, patient and helpful in helping us find what we were looking for. We are first time cyclist and didn’t know what we really wanted. He really took the time to explain the difference between all the bikes, it was a pleasure to have him serving us, and would happily come back to the store to be served by him, really nice person and polite

No one working on the new click and collect counter. No one answering the phones. All in all a poor experience. Update. Thank you for your prompt reply. I'm sure you had a good reason for moving the click and collect from the till area to the back of the store, but my experience this evening was the implementation could be better. Nevertheless I will be back as I have another order due with you soon. Which at least will give me a chance to update this review.

Came in today to pick up a kayak for me and my friends on a holiday, the guy on department think his name was Alex was really cheerful and charismatic as well as looking like he had his hands full but still was there for every customer, 10/10 would come back again and recommend this to any of my friends that guy needs a raise

All the staff at Decathlon at the Lakeside store was very helpful and great with our kids tonight. We went to the store to get our boys a bike. Two got a bike and one got a scooter. The staff let us have the display bike as it was the last one in stock and fitted stabilisers to the over one for free before doing a safety check on.both bikes. I would highly recommend the store.

Just want to say a very big thank you to Dean Camping Manager and Abdul store security who went out of their way to help me today showing me how to put up my tent. They were so very patient and kind. I received very good and informed advice from a member of staff, Charlton. We discussed what road bicycle I should purchase within my price range, and the comparative advantages/disadvantages of various features. With the help from Charlton, I believe I was able to make the most appropriate choice. I decided to go for one of the road bikes. I really did appreciate all the help from him. After weeks of research, I've finally got my bike. Great customer service.

Amazing service! Charlton really went above and beyond - even letting me test out one of the display bikes when we were figuring out the best frame size for me. I was changing from a mountain to a road bike and was obviously pretty clueless, but everything was explained in a really simple and friendly manner and felt genuinely tailored to my needs and experience level. No pressure to buy or upgrade to things I don't need. Love my new Triban RC120!

It took a bit of waiting with but ultimately I was served, very happy about that. But I could give you 0 stars for having a disrespectful security who stopped to check that I actually paid for my stuff. I wasn’t given a bad so I carried my items outside, but Stopping a grown man because the security doesn’t have sense or respect. ‘I need to see your receipt’ I’ve never been stopped at security or have ever been this humiliated. On the end I didn’t even get an apology. I’ll never visit this decathlon again.

Came in to get some starting fishing gear for the kids, one of the staff Alan was very helpful. Talked us through the whole thing. Very knowledgeable and such a great help. Decathlon had exactly what we needed. Would highly recommend!

What should have been a quick and easy process (click & collect) took ages because there was no one at the desk when we went to collect our items. What’s the point!

Never been to a decathlon before, I was looking for a ski jacket for my husband. It looked like they had been very busy as we didn’t find what we wanted however we did get 2 nice pairs of ski glasses at a very reasonable price, the lady who served me was very helpful and polite. The store had loads of other sports stuff, we’ll definitely go back

Great shop with lots of choices for every sports of your choosing. Great quality stuff and cheaper quality stuff also available. Staff are helpful and information on display boards are very useful. Self service at till with helpful staff in case something bugg at the till. Shops on two levels. Free car park and ample space.

Staff are very friendly, if I can’t find what I’m looking for they are always willing to go out of their way to help, I love coming here. Big shout out to Matt and Elise for their exceptional service

Getting back into horse riding and thought I'd come here to get all the essentials, was helped by Alan who told me all about kite marking and the rules with schools and clubs and fitted my helmet. Clean store, helpful staff. Overall good experience

Was helped my razik today when I had issues with two tents. He was patient and kind and helped me deal with the issues to a good resolution. He could see u was physically struggling and in pain, and facilitated a chair for me without me having to ask for it. Amazing customer service

Terrible experience. Click and collect is meant to be something quick. Waited 20 minutes while the guy was making a t shirt for a customer. He knew very well I was waiting. He then disappeared completely. No one seems to be able to help as well. Finally got to refunds where the person helped me. But again we went to the click collect till where there was absolutely no one.

Tim is amazing, he is helpful, polite, a real assist to your company. He took his time to help my husband, who was nervous at being judged returning to the gym scene after 30years of lazy living. Many thanks Tim. 😊

I only came in for T-shirt and left for three pairs of wellingtons. Alan is a super salesman.
