A small, but not cramped, Indian restaurant with nice decor and lovely atmosphere. The menu has a wide variety of all of the curries you could possibly want and some very nice chef signature dishes also, extremely well cooked. Service is friendly and relaxed but efficient also. Drinkwise they serve both Cobra and Kingfisher-which is a bonus! We had a lovely selection of mixed starters and then chicken, lamb and vegetable curries - all of which had very nice flavours. Very much worth a visit as it is at least as good or in most cases better than any similar restaurant of its kind in the Orpington area!

Getting takeaways for these recent months but the texture of the chicken feels like mulched chicken and plastic making it like tough rubber and tasteless. The Korma sauce has varied on Saturdays from being watery cream or heavy in coconut with a sickly amount of sugar then occasionally the right texture and taste. Can never rely on getting a good curry from here.

We have used this restaurant for over 20 years with no complaints whatsoever, however, the last three times we have ordered a takeaway, the tandoori chicken has tasted like pure salt, and tonight the entire meal, from the soft popadoms, to the really tough chicken, in a masala, and the repeated salty tandoori chicken, we will be taking our business elsewhere. It’s as great shame, not least because we order directly to ensure the the profit goes to a local business rather than one of the National delivery companies.

Real shame I’m having to review the village cuisine 1 star but as a take away service I would avoid. I’ve waited 2 hours for food when I was told 45 minutes which is completely unacceptable. All the food was barely no sauces included bar one mango chutney in honesty had I known I wouldn’t have paid for it. The last time I ordered it was an hour and a half again after being told 45 minutes, surely if you’re busy you should just tell your customer a more realistic time?! Having used the village cuisine for many years I will now be going else where as this service has drastically gone down hill and the food was awful.

A lovely clean bright family run restaurant,no paper napkins or table cloths here. Nice clean linen cover the tables with a bottle of spring water. The temptation to cut back over 30 years has been resisted. There's a comprehensive reasonable priced menu with unusual dishes I've never seen before. This make a refreshing change as other restaurants have cut back,simplified and restricted choice. The service was good with a complimentary drink offered. The food was good, meat portions on the small side but sufficient enough to fill me up Go your be splendidly surprised.

Very tasty curry. Eaten here for a number of years but the first time we have had a takeaway (due to COVID restrictions) and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Always friendly staff and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend this establishment.

Having dined here several years ago and not been that impressed, we thought it was about time to give it another go. Glad we did. I'm vegan and my partner is vegetarian. We both had a thali, which was lovely. The waiter was also very helpful with identifying which dishes were dairy free. We will definitely be returning again soon.

Nice food Great service Atmosphere was fine. It was very quiet to start with but livened up later.
