Had a lovely overnight stay with my friend from OZ, was so relaxing and tranquil. I had a Grown Alchemist facial with Leah which was amazing, skin like silk. Our room was lovely over looking garden and 1 of the lakes, Then had back massage with Natasha, which again was lovely, a nice firm pressure which I asked for🤗🤗 Breakfast and lunches were lovely, plenty of choice, and good size portions. Cocktails were gorgeous, as well as the none alcoholic ginger spritz. So refreshing. It was just what I needed after losing my husband in March. I feel amazing so thank you everyone at the life house

A nice overnight birthday getaway with friends. Friendly, helpful staff and delicious food. Down side was that the hydrotherapy pool was out of action and a little crowded poolside, with no available seating for us. The shower temperature in our room wasn't hot enough and part of my spa treatment was missed out. (mindful moments massage, no 'foot ritual').

For the price you pay, it's not great. Rooms are worse than a premier inn hotel and double the price! We paid for 2/3 treatments, and all were half the time that we paid for. The products used are cheap. The staff can be quite rude. Wasn't shown around, so I had no idea where to go. Trying to relax and hoovers are being used all around you. We got kicked out of the relaxation room very rudely (for a class) but were left with nowhere to go other than the pool area (very loud in there). All in all, we won't be going back, and we won't be recommending it to anyone. Sorry, I should also add that we spoke to a member of staff on check out and gave all this feedback plus more. We was told the manager would call us within 2days when she was back at work. This was a week ago, and we have had no phone call from the manager. Very poor customer service.

Lovely experience! There were a few initial issues, but guest services (Leanne - manager) were quick to respond and really understand what excellent customer service is. The room was fantastic. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious - really tasty and fresh. Restaurant manager Daniel was great, as was our waitress Suzanna. Finally, the Spa. Excellent. Really relaxing and again with great staff- thank you Tiffany! The Spa shop is well worth a visit, and the staff really went the extra mile. We will be back- a lovely place.

The spa isn’t good …. It’s amazing. I had a garden room, huge with my own seating area overlooking the garden. I came on my own and all the staff have been fabulous so welcoming and really genuine. The restaurant is 5 star outstanding food and service. I’ve had the best stay and cannot recommend it highly enough. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for making my birthday special

Really lovely night away booked through secret escapes at a great rate. Spa itself was really good, not the biggest though so a few hours there in the afternoon and a quick swim the following morning was plenty. Some other reviews note that it was too busy. When we were using it, it seemed fine. Busy perhaps, but not overly so. This was on a Sunday afternoon/Monday morning. Restaurant food was fantastic. Setting and grounds were beautiful. Staff were all so friendly and helpful, really amazing. Room was decent with a lovely view, not the height of luxury perhaps, but still nice. Only thing we would change would be to have air conditioning as it did get very warm on an August night. Otherwise though it was perfect. Would definitely come back.

Amazing spa package. The room was lovely and had a garden view. We had a full body massage which was amazing and relaxing. Spa facilities are lovely and you can use them on the day of arrival and also day of check out. The food here is great - we had 3 course dinner included and it was delicious. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The grounds are beautiful for a walk.

A relaxing and fantastic break. We went for the NYE gala, booked extra treatments and stayed for the 2 whole days due to being able to use the facilities before check in and after check out. Staff were courteous and attentive without being overbearing. The NYE set menu was varied and exquisite with portion size being generous. A buffet breakfast was included and was fresh and warm. Lunch the next day was not included but the menu was reasonable with several choices. The room was clean and spacious enough considering we weren't in it much. The couples deep tissue massage, facial, and Swedish massage left us feeling spoilt and relaxed, one of the best experiences we've had. It was good value for money, and we shall definitely be returning again in the summer when we can take a walk in the well maintained grounds.

The spa has a lot of good points, but some things that need improvement. The good bits: - absolutely stunning grounds - massage was great - general vibe is relaxing - customer service was generally good - clean and overall modern hotel The bad bits: - the evening food was really not good. I ordered tortellini and had just one bite as was inedible. The lunch and breakfast were better, but not great - the rooms are ridiculously hot and there is no air conditioning - the pool and spa area is pretty basic and overcrowded Overall, we enjoyed but feel there is need for certain improvements (as above!)

We went for the day. I had a lovely facial. The food and drinks were very varied and tasty. Lots of drink options and they were very reasonably priced. The admin was not so good. My daughter booked for us all to have treatments together to make a seamless day but had her timings altered several times before the day and then again on the day. It rather took the edge off what was an otherwise lovely day.

1st time staying, and I must say we really enjoyed our time here. All the staff are really helpful and polite. As seasoned spa goers we really rated the facilities, from the seperate jacuzzi/hot tub, main pool. Steam rooms and saunas were great. Plunge pool is a breath taker (literally) but you feel fantastic once out. We didn't eat in restaurant as felt it was a bit overpriced, we went to Harry's bar and restaurant in the high street. Wow the food is amazing and good value. Overall we really liked Lifehouse and will return, albeit definitely not in the summer months as no Air Con in the rooms. I think this a massive minus, even the cheap travelodges I've been in have some type of climate control. The rooms are very hot and get quite stuffy. Lifehouse owners....you need to put A/C in the rooms, not just desk fans!!. Breakfast superb also. See you again!!

This is a nice place to relax. It's an ideal place for relaxation, getting away from life stressors. It has magnificent gardens, and the views are amazing. The Swedish massage is great. I wished I could stay longer, but all good things must come to an end.

If you are wanting to relax, this is a place for you. So quiet, the gardens are fantastic! Staff are always smiling, with being extra helpful. The rooms had a beautiful view, and were spacious. Food tasted great.

Room....no plug socket by bed on the side away from the door. WiFi slots didn't work. It was very warm & as the room is big, it needs a free standing fan. Maybe net curtains on the patio door as people from the garden can look in. Service....excellent. Location..... it is beautiful once you get into the hotel, but there is a new housing development going on right next to the entrance of the hotel. Beautiful garden & grounds.

Amazing facilities with friendly staff topped off with great food. Really is a great spa and well worth the price. The gardens are also great to walk around between swimming and spa visits etc.

Lovely spa day experience. We had a great time! Facilities are good, with a range of steam and sauna rooms. The jacuzzi pool was closed in the afternoon due to a maintenance issue, so that was a shame. The restaurant food was absolutely delicious, followed by a walk in the ground in our fluffy towels. Overall a great day.

Absolutely amazing place. Went here for a spa day for two, and it was the most relaxing place. The facilities are wonderful, they have plenty of relaxation and sauna type rooms. The only downside to the visit was that one of the pools were closed on the day, however they phoned beforehand to let us know, I'm assuming so that we could rearrange if we had wanted to, so we didn't mind.I bought this as a present for my sister, and I know that we will definitely be back at some point!

Had a lovely night's stay with my daughter. The grounds are a real plus with interesting plants and a lake and when we went - mid-week in July - the spa wasn't too busy so thoroughly relaxing. There were 2 different steam rooms, sauna, a large jacuzzi and decent pool. We had a spacious twin room which was laid out to give us maximum privacy. We had breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea. All good but also it's only around 10 mins drive to Frinton-on-Sea if you wanted a change of scene. I've already booked 2 nights for a return visit!

Lovely experience. We only did an evening but the staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were great but for what they charge I did feel like some of it felt dated. That main spa area has a lot of marks on the walls and just wasn't as "luxurious" as I expected. This however did not take away from a lovely anniversary break

Beautiful garden set around a lake. Nice walks and lots of wildlife. The rooms are a bit basic, no fridge or Aircon, but adequate. The spa facilities were good, large capacity, well maintained and lots of loungers. The restaurant was good. For breakfast plenty of choice. Wine was expensive but the food was great. Now to the downsides - we were celebrating a birthday so rang down for a bucket of ice and 4 champagne glasses only to be told that the bucket of ice would cost £10, the glasses £5 to hire and if we wanted someone to bring it up that would be £10 on top 😳 I'm sorry, but in the most basic hotels you'd get it for free, it's called customer service.

Nice grounds but not worth the £418 we paid for 1 night half board. Spa area feels like a leisure centre as it was so busy, there were not even 2 loungers left for us to sit on, loud people, felt like there must have been a cheap deal on that we weren’t privy to. Not luxurious at all, room had a nice view of the grounds but was very basic, no frills type. Staff speaking very loudly outside the ‘chill’ sleep room, recommending other guests websites to buy make up from, was not relaxing at all. No little extras you’d expect from a spa break like fruits or lemon water in the relaxation areas etc. Not what I’m used to as a regular spa hotel customer.

I took my mum for a spa day with afternoon tea for her birthday and it was absolutely amazing. The spa facilities were exceptional and the food was amazing!! All staff were so attentive, friendly and helpful. Spa was not overcrowded at all, was so relaxing and our treatments were incredible. The location is beautiful, walking around the gardens was its own natural spa!! So peaceful. Christina gave me a full body massage and she gave me amazing advice for aftercare and looking after my aching back. Our entire experience was more than we could have asked for. Lifehouse restaurant even made my mum a happy birthday dessert plate at no extra cost! Thank you for making our day so special. We are already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!!! Do not hesitate to book Lifehouse Spa & Hotel.

The hotel is nice and the garden space is amazing. The staff could use some training regarding customer service, they should know not to scream in the hallways in the mornings and not swear behind the bar. The receptionist was trying to change us double price for a room . So yeah… nice place.

Rooms and location was good. However service left a lot to be desired. Booked a spa day which was a gift and added an over night stay and dinner. What a mix up. Was told they had booked lunch for 1.00pm with a treatment mid afternoon and dinner for 8.00pl. Not the case. Lunch was booked for 1.00pm with spa treatment booked for 12.30pm. Not what was asked for. Complete mess up. Eventually spa treatment was changed to 4.00pm. Dinner said we only wanted a 2 course as not big eaters. Told there would be a wait as we wasn't having starter. 40 mins we waited. Then there as no potatoes on my dinner. Wouldn't go back a again in a hurry.

Nice location, staff really really good 10/10 guys, warm, welcoming, genuine. As with any hotel attention to detail could be better maintenance wise. Light not working in bedroom, spa looked tired- tiles missing in steam room, around pool could've been cleaner. Not the cheapest, apart from the staff not sure if it was true value for money. A good stay but not likely to be back.

I was treated to an overnight stay for my birthday and had a lovely time. Staff had left a card in our room which was a lovely touch. Spa facilities were fantastic however on our first day it was overcrowded. Food was amazing but not the type of place to go if you’re a burger and chips kind of person as food was Italian. Extensive drinks menu, although slightly pricey. Rooms very hot, could definitely do with A/C but clean and well kept. Id suggest taking your own toilet roll 🫣 shockingly poor quality which literally falls apart in your hand! Fresh robes, towels and slippers supplied. All in all faultless and recommended.

Stayed here for two nights with my mum. Rooms were spacious and had all amenities. Could’ve done with a mini fridge too though. Spa facilities were okay, quite busy at times. Food at the restaurant was very over priced but we had breakfast and dinner included and these were good sized. The cleaning of the rooms was very average they didn’t clean the hairs on the floor or do much tidying. A range of customers here and some of the waiting stuff were rude. One lady was very nice though. Wouldn’t necessarily come back.

Have visited quite a few times over the years. Never disappoints, the swimming pool, sauna, and steam inhalation room are always clean. They also have a plunge pool if fancy a freezing cold dip. The rooms are decent, could maybe do with a little updating but they're clean and beds are comfortable The breakfast and lunch are always good quality, lots of variation. My partner and I both had a full body massage, which was amazing. If you'd like a meal out in the evening instead of dining in the restaurant at Lifehouse, there's a few lovely little pubs nearby.

Just got back from an overnight stay at the Lifehouse. Had such a wonderful time. We arrived before check in to use the facilities and was given a locker. In the afternoon we moved to the restaurant for afternoon tea which was fab. The staff were so attentive and nice to talk to. Followed by a spa treatment which was also lovely. The evening meal was so nice and there was a lot of choice. Drinks reasonable price also. Would definitely recommend and we will be back soon !
