We haven't been for years so we were looking forward to visiting again. You can park for free just enter your reg inside at reception, nice to have that and not worry about parking. The lady that served was polite and friendly. Prices great for our food, only negative I would say is there wasn't any lamb, the roast potatoes could of been hotter and crisper and the mac n cheese wasn't very cheesy aside from that I can't wait to return. We (4 of us) went back again yesterday (21st May) for my sons birthday meal. Booked our table, lovely meal. Busy waitress, thank you though Sydney. Clean plates.

Visited here after a years absence. The restaurant is located on the main road and to reach the car park you need to turn down a side road. The carpark itself is quite small and is used by hotel guests and restaurant users. Unfortunately due to arriving during the Sunday lunchtime rush the carpark was full. There is street parking nearby but please adhere the notices as I think there are parking restrictions during the week. Upon entering I was greeted by 2 friendly members of staff who kindly showed me to my table. The tables were clean despite a lot of traffic from people coming and going. The pub is quite bright compared to a lot of places which tend to be on the dark side. The waitress was very kind and friendly when taking our orders and we promptly queued for the carvery. 5 choices of meat on offer and the only downside is that the portions of meat the staff give you do seem to be getting smaller. Lots of veggies to make up for the lack of meat and a whole host of condiments on offer. Food was delicious and my plate didn't stay full for long! Unfortunately I was too full for pudding but, they did look lovely and I saw others enjoying them. Prices are very reasonable. I will visit again. Thank you Toby and the team!

Happy days. Glad to be back, come hungry leave happy. Gracious service with a smile. The lamb was excellent and the Gammon was divine! Carvers are precise with their cuts, could be just a little tiny more. FYI, bring your own Tabasco! 😎 🔥 if you want a bit of spice! 🌶

Very good service - it’s a clean well run operation - I used to go to the Toby in Bexleyheath but much prefer the Eden Park outlet because it’s a brighter more attractive interior - staff are very well trained helpful and efficient. Great for a belly busting Sunday roast any day of the week for around a tenner - bare in mind Sunday prices I think are a bit higher than during the week - book online using the app much easier than calling. Remember to put your car Reg in at the greeting desk for free parking. Bon apetit.

Food is always good if you eat in and take out. Went for Sunday dinner with the family, it was very nice. Extremely busy due to popularity. We'll come again. TIP: Always book in advance.

It’s a Toby Carvery so can’t really get excited about it. It does what it says in the tin. Meat was good and vegetables were cooked well. Sounds could have done with been a bit crispier but I guess that’s personal taste. Would be nice to see a better range of real ales though. Choices are limited and main stream garbage only. Great service though attentive staff.

Second time here in two months, both times I've been super pleased with both the food and service. I'll be back again.

Honestly, I’m just appalled. WHERE DO I START!!?? We had over a 30 minute wait time JUST to be seated despite having a booking and arriving 5 minutes early. Whilst waiting we were told to go to the bar- it was a 15 minute wait for the bartenders to serve us. Once we were seated we went up to the carvery, the wait time in the carvery queue was 30 minutes. There were such lacking Choices of meat to choose between- the one given to me had blood on it and was still raw. When asking for it to be changed the chef got very annoyed with me. Many people in the queue were appalled by today. 100% do not recommend. I will not be coming to this carvery again.

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Toby Carvery. After a long day of work, my family and I were looking forward to a relaxing meal, but it turned out to be extremely unpleasant. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a manager who was unwelcoming and made us feel like we had committed a serious offense just by walking through the door. It's disheartening to note that every time we've visited, her demeanor has been consistently sour. After being seated, no one approached us to ask if we wanted drinks, and we had to flag someone down after we had already eaten. It became apparent that we had been seated in an area where customers are easily forgotten about. When we went up to get our meat , the turkey was paper thin, as if it had been taken out of a packet from the store. The potatoes were overcooked, and when we requested to be moved to another table, the staff member became defensive and made a point of reminding us that we were dining at a discounted price. This was incredibly rude, regardless of the price we were paying. As regular customers, it's disheartening to feel under appreciated in a place we visit often. I am genuinely upset as a frequent patron, and it's clear that regulars are not valued at this establishment.

I love a good Carvery and Toby is by far and away the best. Staff were very friendly and accommodating despite being run off their feet due to the half term rush. Were very helpful when our original table (static bench seats) was unsuitable for one of our group. On this occasion unfortunately, I found the potatoes to be a little hard and the beef I had rather stringy. Both a shame and never been an issue at all and would certainly not put me off another visit. I even opted for a dessert on this occasion but always find them a little disappointing compared to the mains due to the portion size to price point and probably won't bother going forward. Other than that - as always, nice pleasant surrounding's and lovely staff members. Thinking about it I was left standing (along with other customers) for 6-7mins without acknowledgement although team members popped over to the front desk bit a couple of times. A simple 'will be with you in a minute' would have been welcome. it was very busy though so totally understandable.

We stayed in the neighbouring hotel and had the Breakfast and carvery. Both were outstanding and can only praise the chefs/cooks who made this. We definitely went up for more! Amazing staff who greeted us and said goodbye to us as we left home. Because of this service we went to rebook our hotel on another date but fully booked! Very pleased all round.

Great place for breakfast including large Yorkshire puddings, sausages are of good quality, bacon was also of a good standard. Staff always friendly, a great place for an affordable meal especially for families or an add hoc get together. I'd say the only small critique is that sometimes the seating isn't adequately provisioned and it's nice to sit next to a window in the morning. Venue a great part of the community and whether you're just passing by or looking for somewhere down to earth to catch up within an affordable budget in challenging times you can't go far wrong....

My friend recommended the Toby for breakfast so I took my daughter as a treat before the start of the new school term. We both really enjoyed it, food was nice, good choice & prices were reasonable. It was all very clean & well presented, the staff were polite & helpful, will be visiting again with the rest of my family in future! Parking is free for people using the toby otherwise there is a charge. Thanks!

I haven't been to a Toby Carvery for years but deiging down in Eden's Park we came across the Toby Carvery, Eden Park. I must admit we had such good Carvery and all the trimmings, the chef was very friendly and served us straight away with nice portion. The Yorkshire pudding was massive too. The veg and macaroni cheese were very yummy. The lovely server was very smiley and immediately took us our drinks order. Definitely we will go back soon as it was just under £10 for a good quality Carvery. The place was well clean and looked fresh. Parking available just need to put your registration on the machine once inside the pub. 🍖 🥓 🥩

Rosie looked after us today. With a nut allergy it's never easy going out to eat but she made it very enjoyable. She was knowledgeable, attentive and I felt confident I wasn't going to eat anything that would make me unwell. Thank you Rosie and all the staff who were also very friendly despite it being a busy Sunday rush.

Donna our waitress was lovely, unfortunately that was where the loveliness stopped. We really wanted a lovely roast. We opted for a meat free meal. The meat server gave us plates but barely acknowledged us, then someone else brought out more roast potatoes and beckoned me to give him the tongs that I was using so he could pick up all the potatoes that had gone down the side of the dishes, quite rude. The dauphinoise potatoes- mostly very undercooked potatoes. Carrots - quite hard. Peas - like bullets. Cauliflower cheese - very hard with runny sauce over them. Then we had pudding, apple crumble with custard- Apple very hard and nice custard but cold. We always give praise for whatever people do for us but on this occasion we can’t give praise. Toby carveries used to be great but unfortunately this is the second one we have been to recently that is not up to scratch so we would not be attending Toby carvery again. A shame really. I will say however that the roast potatoes, stuffing, cabbage and gravy were lovely.

Had a lovely birthday meal here with the family. Hope is a fantastic waitress really friendly and accommodating, a lovely girl - we loved her! Thank you! Food was amazing as always. Shout out to the bar team and other restaurant staff who were also doing a fantastic job.

A terrible experience here. We reserved for 43 people. I know, it's a big ask, but if you have no system in place to accept such a reservation, don't accept it. I would have understood had we had to order in advance of the day so that the restaurant would be ready or if a reduced menu was offered, but there was nothing in place that would facilitate such a large booking. They'd assigned one waitress to our entire group (who was very kind and wanted to do her best but was quite clearly out of her depth, as would anyone be with such a large number of people ordering at the same time). All of the food arrived at different times, and not just 5 minutes difference... some students ate at 8pm, others at 9:10pm, on the same tables. Not the slightest gesture or even apology for it taking so long or being so disorganised. I wanted to settle the bill, as I felt that if we waited until the end it'd be even longer, only to later be told I had to pay extra because some people had gotten carveries. Understandable, I knew how many people wanted carveries before we ordered, but they didn't want to take those orders (I mean, for accountability purposes, it would have been much easier to scrap your system of just going up and getting one instead of putting it down as an order first and them then going to claim it). The final meals took so long to come out that we had to leave after the expected time, and substitute some meals as what they'd ordered an hour and a half previous, was no longer in stock). One girl gave up and just ordered a small Mac and cheese starter, for which I was offered a generous £2 refund (all this again, 1h30 mins after ordering her food). What was meant to be a joyful end to our school trip turned out to be something the students (and we) regretted. We'd have been better off in a fast food restaurant.

The friendliest staff I have EVER encountered. Well done ALL. We stayed here the night. Had dinner and breakfast. 100% recommend. Wish this was our local, but we will be back when meeting our friends again. Thank you to all staff.

We were greeted by the most arrogant, rudest front of house staff member we have ever come across. The moment we walked in as a party of 7, this particular individual made us all feel uncomfortable and just seemed tired of life and people in general. I think her name was Danielle if I recall from my receipt, regardless she is certainly in the wrong profession if that’s how she greets punters. Shame as the food weren’t bad but never again.

As a southern American, I've found it difficult to find flavorful food in the UK. However you guys hit the mark. I fully intend on returning. The service was friendly and on point and the food was amazing. Thank you all.

In the interests of transparency I have left this review in return for a free pudding. Food was very good, it's clean and the waitress, Danielle, was knowledgeable and our orders arrived quickly. At the end of the day, it's a carvery and you know what to expect but this is worth a visit if you like this style of eating.

Service was excellent. Beef was superb as were the roast potatoes, carrots and gravy however cauliflower cheese, one of my favourites and Yorkshire puddings were not. The cauliflower cheese was cooked on but only the slightest hint of cheese sauce on what was a new batch of the dish. The Yorkshires are usually delicious but on this visit they were flat and only partially cooked to a beige colour. Dessert of raspberry sponge and custard was delicious but could have done with a little more custard. I was happy with the meal overall as it was part of a £5 midweek deal so great value for money.

First time I’ve been there - we booked for 3 o’clock slot and the place was filling up but managed to get a drink okay beforehand. Got a good table and Jo, our server, looked after us, even though the place by now was packed - the whole carvery was excellent quality managed by professional staff, and coping well with the demand. Very good value and can see why you have to book. The staff definitely deserve a bonus for their coping with the demand!

Apart from just after lockdown I've never had a bad meal here. This is my favourite Toby always my first choice when I'm trying to book. I had their breakfast for the first time the other day and was not disappointed

Our server was Leah and she was lovely, helpful, polite and attentive. Two of us had turkey and gammon which was delicious and the other had gammon and beef (which was a little tough). Cheesecake for pudding which went down a treat. Excellent value for money.

Waitress was helpful and efficient, bringing drinks fairly quickly with a smile. Dinner was nice (don't understand the need for mac n cheese when some swede, parsnips or broccoli would have been much nicer with a roast) but my Mums meat was very meagre. It was her Birthday and she was a bit disappointed. Chef looked like he didn't want to be there but gave him please and thanks anyway. All in all the food was nice and reasonably priced, our bottle of wine was nice and all 7 of us came away happy enough.

1st time visit to Toby Carvery was excellent, booked a table for 6 and was show to a table where everything was very tidy & clean, the waitress was prompt and very polite and knowledgeable, food was hot and plentiful, 5 different meats plus every vegetable you could think of, all 6 plates of food were completely eaten ,not a scrap left on plates. Pudding as per main meal, delicious. Cost of lunch, pudding & drinks £99:64. Best value for a Sunday lunch for years and we eat out on a regular basis, will definitely use again.

Ate in. My partner has recently had stomach surgery and was unable to finish their meal, so we requested a takeout box. This was met with refusal. We was shamed and embarrassed for asking. We had to explain our reasons whilst sat at our table in a busy restaurant. The reason for refusing our request was that the takeout boxes belong to their takeout delivery partners. We challenged how anyone could walk in and order a takeout. This was reluctantly met with a compromise to charge us 50p for a takeout box. The pettyness was unreal and unnecessary. We paid the 50p charge and left with a bitter taste in our mouth for it.

We love the breakfast here such great quality and value. The staff are great very helpful. We do have one slight gripe. It can feel very warm in there and a little uncomfortable at times.

  • 4/5 Julie W. 2 years ago on Google
This branch is doing really well amongst the pandemic precautions. Everywhere felt clean, safe and socially distanced. It was understaffed when we visited and our lovely waitress was run off her feet. She still showed great care for us.We didn't get to utilise the refill drinks as you have to wait for staff to do it for you now, but they were so busy. Food was delicious, lots of options for myself as a vegetarian. Accessible parking and step-free access/seating also a huge bonus.

Usual carvery atmosphere, we went on a Saturday afternoon and it was fairly quiet. Avoid Sundays unless you've booked. Nice choice of meats and veg although the carvers could do with a happiness shot as they cab be a bit grumpy.

  • 3/5 Anna M. 2 years ago on Google
Is this a joke? 5 spoons of a £2.99 soup... And burned potatoes... Is this how you treat your customers ordering from Uber Eats? We're so so disappointed... When we ordered last time, everything was fine, it must’ve been today's staff who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near food. Also, we have tried to contact the restaurant and none is answering (looks like they know that they had messed up - sneaky sneaky) UPDATE (a week later): Portion sizes have returned to its initial greatness and I received two bags of lovely prepared potatoes 🥔 hence why I give you two additional stars for improving your service - please keep up the good work 😊

Arrived within the first hour of dinner service. Food was hot and fresh. The lamb on Sundays is delicious. My teenager loves it wants to go back every week. Staff are friendly and the place is always tidied up quite quickly when people leave.

What a great find. Second time I've stayed here and had the carvery both times, and it was excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful, an easy choice next time I'm in the area. Room clean and in great condition.

Just stopped for a drink the bar lady was fantastic quick knowledgeable and fun she seemed to be thoroughly enjoying her job. What an asset to the company I believe her name was Fiona. The manager Laura was very friendly and welcoming I will be back.

Decent restaurant. Staff pleasant. Two criticism, one is important to let people know what drinks on the special promotions are not available rather than customers asking and being told they don't have it. Secondly to ensure that the food is more presentable. The stuffing was dried out and did not look great and the potatoes looked like charcoal, but the Yorkshire pudding was ace

This is again a typical Toby Carvery the home of the roast. And this did not disappoint on this visit. I walked in with out booking a table at midday on a Sunday and I was able to get a table very quickly, the only slight problem it was nearly 5 minutes before a server came to take my drinks order. Now the restaurant was clean and tidy and the staff were presented very smartly. The food now this is were the stars go up, if you have been to a carvery before this is exactly like the others, the meat perfectly cooked and when you bite into it it just melts in your mouth this is the same with the veggies and the crispy Yorkshire pudding. I will definitely be returning very soon and I hope others will visit to.

Calm, laid back and relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Fresh food brought out consistently. Never had any issues here. I've started coming more and more often not only for dinner but for breakfast too. Brings me back to childhood every visit. Love suggesting this place to meet up mid week with friends or as somewhere to grab something after school with little ones. Always worth a visit

Stayed at the hotel on work trip. Spending half my time around the country in budget hotels I was really impressed with the innkeepers hotel at Toby carvery. £60. Large modern, well kept room. Breakfast was superb. Staff were excellent, both the night Porter and morning staff. Overall very impressed, I will be returning.

Directly across from the train into London... perfect place to stay, leave the car, and feel secure about leaving it. The rooms are big and comfortable.. the shower was great.. the full English was definitely worth the cash. We will return here and be sure to make the most of our next trip to London Town. The pub at nighttime was busy but not overbearing.. sitting outside was enjoyable while we had a night cap after a busy day.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband, and can honestly say I would definitely stay again. Staff member Fiona couldn’t have been more helpful. She was there for us for breakfast which was delicious, and even helped us with travel times, routes and means of transport for our journeys. The rooms were cleaned every day, with fresh towels, and the bed was really comfy. Overall it was a welcoming relaxing break.

  • 5/5 Mary M. 1 year ago on Google
Service was perfect, our server was kind, enthusiastic, polite and happy to accommodate and answer any queries we had. The only criticism I have is there needs to be more signs up so people know where they are going for things like the vegetables or the toilets or the refillable drinks station. It would make things a lot easier for your staff who were all amazing.

Room rather grim. Heating system incomprehensible. Dark decor. Thin duvet. Officious check-in. Breakfast may have been cooked yesterday. Good coffee but that was extra. Otherwise acceptable for £120 a night London suburbs.

Overall, I think everything is pretty good. Good choice of veg., staff are always on the ball and friendly and the roasts are good value for money. Special Offers are good too. Couple of negatives: Beef is quite often rather 'chewy' but you probably can't do anything about that ... and ... I miss my parsnips! The only other negative in my opinion is that when the restaurant is quieter, it would be good to have smaller amounts of veg and renewed more often as it tends to get chilly ......
