First time visiting here and was really impressed. Service was really friendly, helpful and completely un-rushed. A really nice atmosphere with great food and wine. Chose and shared small plates. The ceviche, soft shell crab and lamb sweetbreads were particularly good. Wine sold in various size carafes. Would definitely return for some flame-grilled meat next time, which smelled fantastic.

Fantastic lunch here. Great selection of small bites and sharing plates to start, followed by beautifully presented mains. All ingredients very fresh and packed a punch. Soft serve ice cream for dessert, sounds so simple, utterly divine with either a fruit or nut accompaniment, it's a must try in my opinion. We dined mid week at lunch time, it was fairly quiet. Service was very attentive and genuine. Fantastic Irish bar downstairs, excellent cocktails, great atmosphere.

What a fantastic metropolitan buzzing restaurant and bar 🍻 As you enter the building, into the restaurant, it is perfectly lit and a welcome warmth both visually and physically hits you from the cold streets of London. You are immediately welcomed by staff with warm smiles and pleasant conversation, and led to your table (if you've booked - recommended!) 🤩 The menu, an A4 page of awesome 🍲🦐🍖 makes it difficult to make a choice! (Check out the specials board located over the bar also) If in a group, and you like everything, speak to the waiter/waitress regarding a mix of the menu - if it's not too busy, lunchtime for example, it's a great way to try a wide range of the menu. The menu is available to view online also 🚀🤩 I had the cauliflower bhaji for starter, bone marrow, and shared the 800g sirloin (medium rare), a side of mash, and a side of broccoli (in garlic) - a large glass of red and a pint of Guinness 😁 Every bite was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and puts a warm satisfied smile on your face! Toilets and bar are downstairs. I didn't see a lift 🛗 so may be difficult for some ♿ users. Fantastic place to visit and highly recommended 🚀😄 Thanks for hosting us and I can't wait to visit you again soon 💪❤️🍀

We tried quite a few small plates, they recommend 3 per person but they do offer larger plates as well. Cocktails were on a weaker side for me, I tried their jalapeno Margarita. We tried the following (starred dishes I’d recommend): Seabass Ceviche, Charred Green Tomato, Tequila, Jalapeno, Yuzu ⭐️ Ember Warm Sea Bream Sashimi, Pickled Daikon, Wasabi ⭐️ Tempura Soft Shell Crab, Chipotle & Lime Chicken, Cucumber, Mustard & Chilli Pickles Seared Hand Dived Scallops, Mushroom Dashi Braised Octopus, Toasted Foccacia & Sauce ⭐️ Soy & Sesame Glazed Duck, Sweet 'n' Sour Cabbage, Prawn Spring Roll & Plum Jam ⭐️ Churro with goat’s cheese ice cream ⭐️ Chocolate tart

We had a great time here - the food, drinks, service, and ambience were all top notch! We had a party of around 10 people and were seated at a long table. Our server asked us how we wanted to plan out the meal and she ended up suggesting all of our menu items with some special accommodations for our friends who were vegetarian / pescatarian. It was perfect because we didn't have to think about anything and everything was delicious.

Had the best time when we visited for our anniversary. The staff went out of their way to make it special for us. The atmosphere is relaxed and the food is varied, adventurous and high quality. We chose to sample a whole lot of small plates but their full meals looked tempting too. You must try the olive oil ice cream. We will definitely be back!

Perfectly pleasant but not totally blown away. A good solid meal. The marrow mash was delish. The chips were perfect. Buttermilk butter - whoa! 😋 I enjoyed the cocktails and staff were great and helpful. Sadly the wine was not chilled enough for £50+ . 4 peeps, cocktails, starters, mains and 2 bottles of wine approx £360.

Excellent dining experience sharing small plates and wine by the glass. Comfortable surroundings, attentive service and an open kitchen make this restaurant attractive. Reservations required. Excellent dishes include the chagrilled octopus and the fried chicken, and the chocolate torte. Best of all, we were able to hang for a while without being chased out!

A great place to visit. Staff are wonderfully welcoming, and kept up the level of service all night. The food was exquisite. The wine and champagne, also great quality. As for the value for money, we ate drank and made merry as a group of 12 with starters and mains... And it came to just over £120 a head. Considering what we had, it was great value.

Great food and evening. Went with a large group of people, with a few vegetarians. We all went for the tasting menu with a couple of us going for the vegetarian tasting menu. The food was great, punch flavours with some interesting textures to the dishes. Some were simple and others were well thought out. The desserts were rich in flavour. The service was great throughout the whole dinner and staff continually checking whether everything was okay.

Very tasty, fresh food. Great beer. Very, very glad my boy took me there - although I somehow ended up paying? Lol.

I was so excited to visit Daffodil Mulligan for my birthday. The staff were friendly but a little over the top - constantly making suggestions for extra dishes - despite us repeatedly telling them we were happy with our choices. The food was ok. It wasn't fantastic but ok. We all expected more given everything we've seen online. The sirloin to share was incredibly disappointing. It cost £95 and supposedly serves 2/3 people. It served 2 at most and was so charred we couldn't eat most of it. We ordered a reasonable amount of food and the bill came to £430 for 4 people. We felt the price was steep considering the quality of the meal. I won't rush back.

Wow wow wow. Unique taste and cooked perfection in a gorgeous outside seating area. Some of the best food I’ve had in a very long time. Worth it!! Will definitely be back!

Friendly and welcoming staff; lovely and flavoursome food; romantic ambience 👍 I especially recommend the following dishes: • mash 🥔 • black pudding croquette 🫓 • ceviche 🐟 • fried chicken 🐔 • lamb shoulder 🐏 • Irish coffee ☕ • chocolate peanut butter cookie 🍪 The ones that could be improved: • beef tartare was actually nice, but the toasted bread that came with it was soft, meaning it wasn't quite fresh enough • the burger 🍔 was nice but fell short of expectation Overall, a lovely meal. Thank you for having us.

Service good staff wise however food fell a bit short for me beyond the soda bread, bread and sea bass cerviche which were all delicious. Other dishes were average and some, like the cauliflower bhaji felt like they needed another dimension of flavour to them. In fact I asked for lemon wedges and the citrus kick lifted both the bhaji and the chicken dish a little. The dining room didn’t have a particularly nice feel to it. It smelt oily (there are quite a few fried dishes) which clung to my clothes on leaving plus it was very dark - part of the reason why I only took one photo of the pigeon salad. An average dish. Overall ok but I wouldn’t choose to go again.

Our dining experience at Daffodil Mulligan was disappointing. The oysters were watery and lacked ‘meatiness’ and flavour, while the soft shell crab tasted predominantly like the crab's guts. The bread accompanying the duck parfait seemed and tasted burnt. The duck (which came quite rare) lacked seasoning, and the chocolate peanut butter cookie for dessert was overly sweet in an unpleasant way. Their famous mash was I guess pretty good, but overall, the experience fell short considering the raving reviews on Google.

An interesting selection of ingredients. The waitress told us that although they may sound adventurous everything was cooked to perfection and she was sure we would like it. We took the plunge and ordered tapas style. And she was right. We needn't have worried everything was delicious.

The food did not disappoint at all! The plates were creative and delicious, except the turbot which didn't work for me (little too salty and just didn't stand out). Good drink/wine choices - we had some cocktails which were well made. I highly recommend you all to try the lamb shortbreads, pork cheeks and in dessert the sweet potato & caramel! All of it to die for :) Will come back!

The menu is divided into small and large plates. We shared about 7 of the small dishes, because they were so exciting looking. Everything was fantastic - not a dud dish among them. The cooking is superb and the ingredients lovely, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Fried chicken, pigs cheeks in chip shop curry sauce, black pudding croquette were stand-outs. Not sure why it's not more popular - maybe Old Street Roundabout is a no-man's-land; not quite the City, not quite Shoreditch. However this is a destination restaurant. We'll be back to make our way through some of the main courses very soon.

Really tasty food! They should make the mash mandatorily served with the sugar pit pork. Nothing else matched up to the lofty heights of the pork, so salty and soft. Lovely service, we were late but we’re still welcomed to stay for the whole length of our slot so thank you.

First time visiting this establishment.. Do not expect High Cuisine but a Small Plates menu being served in the main restaurant located on the ground floor. The establishment is located over two floors. The basement floor has the pub/bar dedicated for drinkers and which also hosts Live Music. The main ground floor restaurant is quite spacious with an Open Kitchen area and fairly utilitarian seating and table's. The menu is mainly European small Plates which was a little surprising as it is a predominantly Irish Themed establishment and bar. We had the Tasting Menu which was reasonable. The staff were very attentive and friendly and welcoming. A good.place to.meet friends for drinks and perhaps a meal.

LOVED it! Had 5 small plates between 2 of us, pigs cheeks were fabulous. Desserts were sublime. Cocktails were also delicious. The staff are engaging, knowledgeable and downright lovely. Highly recommend and I'll defo be back soon.

We celebrated my mom’s birthday there, and had the best service from our waitress. Special shoutout to the chefs, who cooked up an incredible meal, can highly recommend the pork belly and the steak! Everything came super speedy. We spent 3 hours there, not because of waiting times, but because we had such a good time. Thank you for having us!

Great feeling to be back at a Lovely and superbly well staffed restaurant as Daffodil Mulligan. The Manager Irene is Ace! The food is delicious! Great take on the Squid, must try! Oysters to start always goes down well. A bit more off the website A restaurant with basement bar Gibney’s in the heart of Shoreditch is the ultimate destination for dining, drinking and live music. It embodies the heart, soul and mischief of the Irish, but with international food influences. Daffodil Mulligan is the name of the daughter of Biddy Mulligan - a legendary Irish street seller, who was immortalised in the song “Biddy Mulligan the Pride of the Coombe”. Daffodil herself has also inspired her own song by Dublin folk band Lankum. The restaurant’s identity articulates her spirit and retains an earthy, individual aesthetic.

Quality ingredients treated with respect. Hospitality in spades. Raw bar and a wood-burning oven. Small plates plus mains with three types of British oysters, mussels, cockles and clams. Lamb chops, grilled whole mackerel. All expertly prepared. Excellent ales and wines. Very knowledgeable servers. What a treat to not get the same, tired old ‘British Menu’. Worth every penny and then some. See pics for course descriptions.

Great food and excellent service. The waitress comp-ed a glass of wine for us very generously because it was a tad delayed coming out (I hadn't even noticed!). The stand out dishes for us were the fried chicken and the liver parfait.

The food and drinks were good and the staff was friendly. We tried some delicious dishes, but they were quite overpriced and not quite that impressive. Overall it was a nice experience, but I’m not sure I’d go again.

Quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in London (and I have tried my share). It’s the perfect combination of Michelin quality food, friendly service and a perky atmosphere, not to mention the best Cabernet Franc I ever had. Shared with a friend three starters, all were incredible. My favorite was the cauliflower bhaji, but the fried chicken was a close second (and a very larger portion). The pork belly was no slouch but I preferred the other two. The duck for a main was also fantastic, as was the poached pear for dessert.
