Unfortunately the lovely food was ruined by the rude manager. When we walked in to an empty restaurant we was left standing for about 5 minutes just to be seated even tho I had booked a table. And we didn’t even get an apology for the wait. We then ask to move to an empty booth with padded seats for our elderly grandad. And the reply was very abrupt and rude before we was eventually aloud to move. As a manager I would expect better service.

The staff are amazing and really do cater our needs. The best customer service. Especially the guy on the desk. He explained the procedure to get served and definitely new his stuff. . Place is spotless and the food is ten out of ten. This is why we come here moist Sundays. Keep up the excellent work!

Sunday lunch devotees. Love the "buzzy" family atmosphere. Food is very good with a wide choice of Sunday-lunch-type offerings, including every typical "roast" meat. Very reasonably priced all round, including good wines. Staff attitude was excellent. Heartily recommended.

Didn't have staff to serve walk ins. Frankly, I'm glad I wasn't served by the staff they had. The greeter didn't hide her disdain for our presence at the door. In fact, we were outside on their patio quietly chatting for 30 minutes waiting for them to open. The very staff who tossed us out had walked by us on their way from their car to this restaurant but didn't take a minute to tell us they wouldn't be able to serve us. Terrible experience. I've been to restaurants of course who had to turn us away for staff issues in the past couple of years. But these ladies appeared angry that we wanted to eat at their spot in the first place. That was a new experience to me. Save yourselves the wrath of these folks.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The carvery is good, if a little unadventurous. The meats were better than the vegetables, which were a little over cooked. However, everything was hot, and there was a good selection, APART from the fact that they had "RUN OUT OF CUSTARD." Something I have never before come across at a restaurant. Prices were reasonable, parking is good and everything was very clean. Would I go back? Yes, without any significant hesitation.

Edit 27/05 - The experience was good we were seated eelatively quickly, however because of the promotion on the day (50% off mains) it was extremely busy and not enough staff. The food service was slower as a result (certain veg ran out and not filled resulting in some individuals holding up the queue until this was available), appreciate these are minor points given the circumstances. The gravy on the day was too thick and salty, noticeably different to what you come to expect from Toby's, we didn't really want to make a fuss on the day, the meat was top quality as was the veg. All in all positive experience but 4 star is fair.

Popped in with a mate for the carvery. Really nice tasty food and reasonably priced. Very nice serving staff. We were served by the gorgeous Lucy who made us feel very welcome. Will definitely come again. Plenty of free parking too.

Visited Here today with our Mum and Dad. What can i say the food was amazing so fresh and the staff could not do enough to make sure that we were looked after. The gentleman serving the Meat was so nice and took the time to explain the meats on offer and have a friendly chat with us. My dad uses a wheelchair so we needed a nice wide space to maneuverer him, we were found a perfect spot and our server couldn't have been nicer. This was a first visit to The Toby In badgers mount but it wont be our last... Fantastic all round visit... See you all again Soon.

The wife and I visited yesterday for lunch. We both had the carvery and we took advantage of the set meal price for myself and the over 60s price of £4.99 for my wife. This was great value with our whole bill coming to £28 odd with drinks. The food was great, I had the turkey and Gammon. Both lovely. Highly recommended

This place can be very busy, so make sure to book in advance. I have been to several locations, but I feel that this location is probably one of the best. I recommend all. But my favourites are roast beef, gammon and roast pork (with meat on fat). Side dishes are nicely cooked and never overly done. Gravy is a must!

Fantastic meal at Badgers Mount. Greeted and sat quickly. Our food was piping hot and the variety of food is great. Pudding took a little longer to catch the waitress as the restaurant became busy but that's a good sign that lots of people enjoy eating here.

A party of 7 to celebrate my mothers birthday. Perfect carvery, hot, great selection of fresh veg, hot gravy and full sauce selection. Fabulous dessert selection. Friendly, attentive service and did not feel pressured to leave, as we probably did stay a little too long due to family meet-up! Thank you from us all for a lovely meal and a very enjoyable afternoon. Will definitely recommend and will be back!

It's a Toby carvery, lots.of lovely vegetables with copious amounts of gravy with a touch of meat. Food was good and hot, and the service was exceptional. If I had to ask for more, the pint of pedigree was a bit cold, and it would have been nice to have another slice of meat, felt i was shorted - he says when he stuggles to carry the plate full if food for £10. BARGAIN

Always enjoy this chain as my favourite place to get a British roast dinner. Choose the meats you want, the sides you want and the sauces you want. This place single handily converted my kids to liking roast dinners. The desserts are also worth a look, in particular the crumbles.

An utter disgrace! Will NOT be returning. No one at serving station, when he came out he said ‘oh sorry I didn’t see you waiting.’ Lots of dishes pretty much empty. Cauliflower cheese so watery it was inedible. Most of the veg was super watery. Two gravy’s empty, none labelled. Nothing offered for the child, there is normally some colouring or something. I booked online and it asked if I wanted Boxing Day menu or Sunday/bank holiday menu. I selected Sunday menu. When we arrived the lady said are you aware that it’s Boxing Day prices? Nothing was mentioned online when booking this at all but we were so hungry and had been looking forward to it that we accepted begrudgingly. We went up for seconds only to find the food all packed away and the staff turning people away at the door. Around 7.15pm one of the waitresses said ‘shall I put a sign on the door, I feel bad that people are being turned away when we’re still open’. They then wrote on a piece of receipt ‘closed at 7pm’. The website said they were open until 10pm. We had intended on having a nice meal and making the most of the evening, not rushing etc but was then made to feel rushed so left. Extremely disappointed and will be making a complaint regarding our visit as I don’t think it’s acceptable at all!

Some of the tables are right on the main walkway which can make a meal for 2 feel a bit awkward. The food is usually pretty good and rarely goes out of stock. Some of the staff are lovely, especially Penny, but sometimes you will see your waitress 2-3 times during the entire evening and you don’t feel particularly well looked after. Overall a nice evening but not 5 star.

Oh dear, this place has gone downhill. Had a table for 6 booked but still waited for more than 20 minutes as previous guests refused to move. Being a Monday, it was not busy but no effort made to seat us all elsewhere. Having finally got to our seats, we were informed that we would have to hurry as the carvery was closing at 8pm now and not 9pm. So extras of pigs-in-blankets and drinks ordered, off to the carvery. Nothing was hot, merely luke warm. No gravy, so had to wait for that. Extra order finally arrived as our meals were finished. Ice cream sundae and fudge cake with ice-cream had been placed under the heat lights for some unknown reason, so were melted puddles when delivered. Had to search for a staff member to get the bill. All in all, one of the worst experiences we've had, I think our group will have to find somewhere else.

Absolutely gorgeous food. Definitely in my top 3 of tobys across the country. All staff we encountered were very friendly. The carver was very friendly and interacted with the kids which was nice. The place was clean and ample parking on site.

There was a delay getting seated even though we had booked and then a long queue for the carvery. The cauliflower was under cooked and I had a splinter bone in my lamb which could have been dangerous for kids. Also the salt and pepper were not working as they were wet and when I asked they just said there all like that. So there was room for improvement. The food was good apart from that.

Everything went smoothly, the food was yummy and the waitress very lovely. My only thought is we had to take a long walk around from the bar/front of house to our table, when we Clearly had two adults with us that had walking aids, (elderly/100 yo gentleman with a zimmer frame and middle aged lady with a walking stick). Maybe something for front of house to be aware of when setting tables for prebooking, as there was no place to state disabilities when booking online. Thank you!

Had a brilliant meal with my family today. The host was brilliant, carver very friendly and gave my son 3 yorkshires, so he was really pleased! Nanette our server was fantastic too, making sure we had all we needed. Not only was the service great, but the food tasted amazing too! Thanks all for a lovely meal.

A good place to visit and the roast dinner at just £13.95 is very good value indeed. If you go on a weekday, you can get the roast for £9.95. You are seated at your table and offered drinks straight away. Once that is done, you are free to attend the carvery serving area where you can choose from a choice of meats. The meat was cooked beautifully and the staff were polite and friendly.

I came with my husband for a dinner, we sat in a bar area. The service we received was amazing. Our server was a lady ( sorry, we don't know her name)- we know she's Latina. She was very friendly and attentive, made our evening special. We can highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back to be served by our favourite waitress.

We had a lovely family meal out here, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very tasty, plenty of it and a good service. However the link for your online survey does not work via the email you sent me nor on your website!

Service was great and it was easy to book a table but the food was a real disappointment. We had the carvery (which we have had before in this branch) but the quality seems to have gone downhill. Most of the meat we were served was fat and the potatoes were inedible. Sides and veg was ok though some a little underdone. Another thing I was shocked about was that there were no working toilets. Gents was out of order and ladies had 1 toilet open which was blocked and filled to the brim with water. Shockingly dirty and no one was attending to it. Don’t expect to come out to eat and not be able to use the toilet or wash my hands. Based on this visit, I wouldn’t return or recommend I’m afraid. Edit: Thanks for the reply Ben, however the points you raised weren’t really relevant to my experience. I visited yesterday afternoon, not today.

Staff are friendly, food was nice. To be told I could take. A takeaway box twice! By two members of staff at the end of my meal was great until I was then approached and told no sorry you can just take a takeaway meal you will have to order it online was it acceptable. Oh and then to see a rat just topped it off won’t be back but thanks!

Booked in advance. Taken straight to table when we arrived. Friendly table service, drinks order taken straight away. Waiter checked we were ok, gave us time to eat and allowed us time after our meal to look at desserts and order. We go for Sunday dinner regularly to a badgers mount. It’s our favourite Toby carvery by far. Very friendly staff, lovely food, always fresh and lots of choice.

We were a party of 6, and 4 were delayed on the road. The Manager kindly held our booking open until all had arrived. Staff were friendly, and we were not hurried, even though a roast Sunday lunch is very popular.

As a vegetarian on the borders of vegan I wasn't looking forward to a meal at a carvery with family. But the options available were great and we all had a fantastic meal and I was still able to pike my plate with vegetables next to a lovely mushroom & ale pie. The staff were first class also, very attentive and polite. I'll definitely return

My wife and I's first visit here with my friend after the pandemic. Staff member Nanette gave us a lovely welcome as she remembered my friend and I from our previous visits. That was a lovely moment. The carvery was presented very well and was delicious. We had a great time here and have no hesitation at returning again. Nanette looked after us very well. Many thanks.

Very pleasant staff, all efficient. Them meal was great. The roast potatoes are not as good as I do at home but i know how difficult it is to keep them crisp. I'm not complaining. The price was very fair. The roast beef delicious, good choice of vegetables. The only thing that could be improved was the gravy. It was a bit gloopy and not particularly tasty. Having said that, I would happily return to this venue.
